About the author

Hartley attended the University of Florida, studying exercise science, and played football for the Florida Gators. A three year stint in the United States Army followed with postings in Oklahoma, Indiana, Georgia, Texas and South Korea.
His education continued as a world traveler. He and a friend set out on a one year odyssey covering North America, Australia, the Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia, and both Eastern and Western Europe.
He lives in North Central Florida with his wife Jeanie, two sons Justin and Brendan, and Max an energetic pug/yorkie.
