**** Warning: This is a rough, deleted door from THE BLACK ROOM serial.****
Once you enter, anything goes. No fantasy--however dark and dirty and depraved it may be--is forbidden. You have no past, no inhibitions, no morals...and no memory.
All you have to cling to is the memory of a scorching touch, a searing kiss, the wet slide of skin on skin, and the heat of breath across your flesh.
Jasinda Wilder is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author of more than 100 titles including the #1 Amazon bestseller Falling Into You, the Audie Award-winning (best audiobook) Alpha, and the beloved, 17-book Badd Brothers series. “Silence. Perfect, utter silence. A drowning quiet. A longing, deep and unfulfilled, soul-deep, a bone-deep need for something I cannot have; the first sensation. Pang of loss, gnaw of guilt, acid bite of shame, burning heat of lust, a deep delicious soreness in all the right places—all of these sensations roil and coil and mingle together, wedded; the second sensation. I open my eyes; the third sensation. I’m in the room of black doors.” (Book #2)
The Black Room Series By Jasinda Wilder and Jade London kept me enthralled from beginning to end. I really didn’t know what to expect going into this series, but the synopsis intrigued me so much that I went on a one-clicking frenzy and snapped up the entire series to devour- and devour them I did. The books are all quite short, quick and easy reads. But each one packs a punch, keeping you guessing, and completely engrossed by the story. I had so many questions right from the outset. There is a real mysteriousness to the whole story that had me trying to guess where the it was leading, and entirely unsure of the outcome. Each book adds another layer to this complex and intriguing story- there are so many facets, which when layered on top of one another begin to build a truly fascinating story. From book one where we are really not sure where we are, how we got there, or what the heck is happening, the black room, all the doors, all the discoveries, and encounters, book after book, door after door, layer upon layer- things are never quite as they appear- and they way this series/story is pieced together, and the ‘revelation’ at the end was really clever! This book/series is HOT, erotic, dark, delicious, and unputdownable. I read the entire series back to back- and enjoyed every second. This is definitely a story/series I won’t soon forget. It’s one I can see myself revisiting again in the future. Brilliant!
Overall all I enjoyed these serials. Yes, I would normally like a bit more plot, but you must take it for what it is. Having said that I would stop at Door 8. Let the series end the way it did and keep that in mind. This deleted door is like deleted scenes on a DVD, once you watch them you know why they were deleted. Roles are reversed in this door which I found interesting but by the end I just felt depressed and it’s not how I want to remember Hannah, Conrad and this series. Also, it could’ve ended after she walked through the door. I didn’t care for the setup/retelling for the next door. It was a good short story but it took away from the finished series.
Each door represents something. As the reader you are the woman in the story. Clueless. Curious. Intrigued. As you encounter each door you learn more about yourself - this particular door is the deleted door and behind it you learn a few things. Starts with a 40s/50s feel and then it ends on a western/Old West feel. It doesn’t end but allows the reader to imagine the finale.
Shortly after this series was released the author's released this extra door that they decided to cut from the series. This is a nice little add on but I don't really feel that it adds anything new to the story. It was nice to revisit the characters but I didn't learn anything new.
I'm glad this door was deleted, as I think the actual story is much better than this 'deleted' one. It didn't add anything to the original story for me. Maybe if it was reworked and published under a different title... Hmmm
3.5 stars would of like more of a plot or dialogue btwn the characters in "current time" The premis was real interesting and yes it was very STEAMY...DIRRRTTTYYY if you will but that deleted chapter??? Could of done w/o it. That very last chapter brought nothing to the table.
What in the hell was the point to this book? The beginning had no real relevance other than the 4 familiar characters. I think it was a waste of words unless it is an explanation as to how all the characters knew each other and how her journey through the doors began. I was unimpressed that a repeat of door 3's beginning , word for word, was the 2nd part of this book.
I can't believe I'm saying this...but thank goodness this door was deleted! Ugh...usually deleted scenes make me so happy...this one...not so much. And now I'm going to have to go back and re-read the end of the book because this gave me a bad taste in my mouth. :( Don't bother with this one...just read the series as written.
Love, love ,love the series! The time shifts and multiple versions of the same characters shows a different side of the lovers. Feels like Jasinda is trying to show that true love expands through time as soulmates find each other despite in the end despite the obstacles the find in front of them.
extra door. not sure which door as it doesn't start with her entering. just an extra scenario. mixes the relationships. I don't know why some reviews are so pissy about it not adding to the story. it's an extra door- it's no different than the first 6 doors since we don't find out much about her till the end. it's a good story regardless
