A Mountain Before Breakfast

Rate this book
The Munros may have been completed, but that doesn’t mean the passion for night ascents of Scotland’s mountains has been diminished for Alan Rowan. Fresh from seven years of nocturnal peak-bagging in Moonwalker, Alan now has his sights set on a new mountain list – the Corbetts.

Cue more midnight dashes across the country and more tales of madness and mayhem. There’s car crashes and roads that don’t exist; wild pigs and staring goats; the temporary loss of both feet; supermodel posties, giant chickens and snake-infested hillsides.

It’s a tall order, but these mountains are going to be climbed – with or without the help of Sandra Bullock.

A follow up book to Moonwalker, but now instead of the Munros Alan takes on he challenge of the Corbetts. If you love walking, this book is definitely for you, it's informative i.e. explaining some of the challenges you may face when walking some of the mountains but it's also very funny. One story towards the end of the book about bothies was proper laugh out loud. If this doesn't inspire you to walk in Scotland, I don't know what will.
