Leeanna Morgan is a USA Today bestselling author. She lives in New Zealand surrounded by green hills on one side and the ocean on the other. She enjoys going for long walks, especially if she can convince her husband and two children to go with her!
Leeanna writes contemporary romances set in Montana. Her books contain all of the things that are important to her; good friends, family, a strong sense of community, and a happy ending.
A clean wholesome romance with extra interest and a little drama added by Abbey and Tanner’s search for the true story behind her antiques find. I switched off thoroughly for this charming, kisses only, romance.
I'm sorry, but this is going to be one of my boring reviews, because I have nothing critical to say about this book. I liked the storyline and it's many ups and downs. I loved the story about Abigail. The romance was cute and cuddly, as a clean romance is expected to be. I really liked Kelly too. Is it me, or do Romance authors Have A bad habit of making their female MCs annoying? Not this time. Kelly was cool and mature and had a good head on her shoulders. The ending was such a happy ending, it was a little on the "Yeah... right..." side, but that's the type of ending I Love to read in romances. As someone who's real love life was a bunch of good for nothing shit, I just love to indulge in a sweet, daydreamy, "yeah... right...", happily ever after love story.🍫
I love how this ties into other series that Leeanna has written. Kelly took over her uncle's craft store and turned it into a very busy antique store. Tanner is who if the security specialist with Fletcher Security, he has a thing for collecting old & rare poetry books. But they have bidding on against each for months. It's like their own getting to know each other better. But something about the mystery box finally brings them together.
I liked the key characters in this story and found a lot of it a bit unrealistic but their responses were genuine and it was a nice little story. Shorter than I would have liked which meant it all felt a bit compressed and rushed but I guess because it is part of a bigger world (2 of 4) you can forgive some of that.
I liked the diversity of characters and interests and the minor characters added some lovely lightness. Don't read this unless you like simple happily ever after stories though
This was a story that drew you into the mystery but the romance portion was flat. It had no chemistry and seemed like an afterthought. I did however enjoy the Intrigue of Abigail's story and the investigation. Kelly and Tanner seemed better suited to working partners rather than romantic interests. The ending was contrived and unimaginative. Meh read.
Don't waste your time. This book was so boring. It was extremely difficult to get to the end, I almost stopped reading multiple times but he'd out hope that something exciting would happen. It did not. There's a good story in there somewhere it just was told in the most bland vanilla way. I'm so happy to be done with it, so I can move on to a good read.
I was really expecting more from this book. From the description it sounded like there were going to be some intense scenes and action. There was a little action, but most was pretty normal. The only reason I kept reading was because of the mystery of the old journal that was found. I wanted to know about it and the painting and what would happen to them.
Tanner was a likable enough guy. At least until near the end. Then he acted like a spoiled kid, assumed something and then stomped away without talking anything over. And it was supposedly all because he’d had a hard childhood. It just didn’t seem to fit and made me roll my eyes.
Kelly was sweet. She discovered an old journal written in code and it was fun watching her work to find out the mystery. Her brothers were a little much. Yes, brothers can and maybe should be protective of their little sisters, but this went beyond normal.
The romance in this story was pretty clean. There were some kisses, a few hints about not getting physical, but the kisses weren’t too detailed. Kelly did go stay for a week or more at Tanner’s house when she couldn’t stay at her apartment, but one of her brothers stayed there too. Even so, it was a little awkward.
This was not a Christian book. There were a few mentions of a church and the pastor. And a couple mentions of the youth group, but that’s about it. But it was clean as far as language goes which I appreciated.
While it wasn’t bad, I won’t be reading it again just because it wasn’t that interesting to me, and I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it.
Abandoned as a child, can Tanner learn to trust anyone again with his heart? Although stubborn and independent, Kelly, antiques store owner and Tanner's auction menace wonders why he enjoys goading her into higher and higher bids she secretly enjoys their auction room competition. I really love Leeann's writing style -- complex characters learning how to overcome personal obstacles. Main characters change but a supporting "cast" of friends and townspeople wend their way threw every book in each series. Every story presents a different challenge and every one of her stories makes me wish I had nothing else to do but read!
Kelly had decided to abandon her studies to take over her deceased Uncle's antique shop, which displeased her parents and five over-protective, interfering older brothers. At an auction, Tanner, who worked with Tank in a security Company, kept bidding against her as she tried to replenish stock, buying things he did not need, just to irritate her. She won a mystery box. When they spoke afterwards, he apologised, expressing interest in the contents of the mystery box. Together they discovered the fascinating story of Abagail. I won't spoil the story by telling more, but I loved the story and believe others will too.
I loved this book. It would make a great movie.. Kelly and Tanner's story was such an unexpected mystery. Kelly needs Tanner and the security company he works for to protect her and the mystery surrounding " the journal" she recently won at auction. I couldn't put it down. What a timely book. Living close to Washington D.C. and originally coming from Boston I looked forward to each turn of a page to help solve the mystery of " the journal". You will love this book. Enjoy!
This book has a fascinating and unusual subplot, interesting plot twists, and great characters. Although there is nothing saccharine in this, it falls in the category of "sweet romance" because the love develops through intellectual and emotional interaction rather than lust. Keeping it from 5 stars is too heavy a dose of Christmas and a few places the reader has to slog through unnecessary details unrelated to the story. All in all, this is refreshingly different from most contemporary romances.
Leanne Morgan continues to bring new characters and old friends back together. This is a sweet love story taking place again in Bozeman, Montana. The story revolves around two main characters that love going to estate sales and usually bidding against each other. This passion for auctions eventually leads to a love between the two. It also tells a side story of a young slave from the 1860's managing to get free and end up working in the Underground movement. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
I love antiques so to get to read about a woman who owned an antique store grabbed me from the first page. Then there was that handsome security guy who was always hanging out at Kelly's store. The fact that they enjoyed attending auctions at the same place can't possibly mean that they might like each other, or can it?. Great Read !!! I really enjoyed this book.
Kelly is determined to make her antiques business a success. She won't let Tanner, a bodyguard who likes first edition poetry books, interfere with her life.
Tanner working alongside her, they decipher the code in a forgotten journal, uncovering a young girl's journey to freedom and a powerful family's secret.
There’s so much more I could say about this book, but I’d rather let you discover its magic for yourself.
The story was well written, grammatically speaking. I gave it a 3 star bc I don’t like stories that have so many characters in them that I can’t remember who is married to whom or if they are important to the story. The other thing authors do to increase the length of the book is to summarize events. I enjoyed the story but couldn’t really find much romance. It seemed more inspirational.
This story had me on the edge of my set all the way through. Kelly found this treasure and Tanner wanted to help her figure it out, and why it was apart of the auction they were at. Another part of the mystery was a painting that Kelly got at the auction. So the painting and mystery box were tied together. What a rollisoster ride it is, straight into love.
As usual, Leeanna didn’t disappoint! I love how her stories all interlink, letting me hear about how my favourite characters are progressing while they’re interacting with so many friends from other books! It’s like being back in my own small home town! Thanks Leeanna!
This is a new author to me and I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. This was a nice clean romance with a little mystery. I especially liked Abagail’s story and wish there could have been more on that. It was nice to see the friendship between Kelly and Tanner develop into something deeper, and to meet many of their friends in the community.
Antique dealer and Security professional make history.
Love the way Leeanna melds characters from previous storylines into her latest story. Her characters are well developed and we continue learning more about them. Love conquers all, and I like the way she leaves something to our imagination.
Ms. Morgan weaves a great story exemplifying how we are torn as we make decisions in our lives.. Her characters show the influence of passed lives & decisions; showing that we can overcome the negatives to follow the positives. She has good character development & you laugh & cry with them as she weaves her story.
This is a very interesting, involved story. The discovery of Abagail's journal and the portrait started a search for history that may not have happened had someone else won the auction. The development of Kelly and Tanners relation is skillfully woven into Abagail's story.
Sweet book. I really liked the mystery that wove throughout, kept me turning pages. The chemistry between the h/h was nice. The overall pace of the book was a little slow for my tastes, but well-written and enjoyable.
For a while, I thought that I was going to give this book 3 stars but the ending changed my mind. Throughout the book Kelly kind of bothered me in her decisions about the journal and not being careful but at the end, it worked out perfectly.
A mystery box motivates an important historical discovery assisted by the Smithsonian Museum. Working together leads to love for the couple working on the mystery.
This is one of the best books I've read in a long while. The story is enveloping, the mystery draws you in and the love holds you thete. Definitely worth reafing!
Tanner and Kelly, both going to auctions. Trying to outbid each other. When kelly bids for a box and a mystery unfolds. It's fun watching them work it out
