I don't know what happened. The 1st two books were pretty good. This one was...... Disappointing.
Very little character build. Both Cowboy & Charlotte have been mentioned in the previous books just enough to tease us about their ongoing temptation for each other. So this book should have given us all the character build to help us really connect to them.
That did not happen. All we have to go on is mostly what we already knew about them from the previous books. So there is very little about what makes them tick or bring them to life for the reader. There are a couple of adult intimate scenes. They were okay. In truth, they came close to being 'run-of-the-mill'. It was hard to feel any emotional connection to either mc.
The suspense was jumpy and haphazard. While there were a couple of decent scenes, mostly it just was not well written. The suspense did not flow smoothly. It felt like half the story was missing.
I don't remember finding any editing errors.
Because this book was so disappointing I looked back at my notes from the other books in this series I read. It is those notes that convinced me to continue to check out the authors other books and not base my experience with her writing on this one.
Leo ‘Cowboy’ Wilson and his partner are providing security for a royal couple on their honeymoon cruise. When Charlotte finds out he’s on it, she books a room. She had survived a terrible divorce that left her feeling pretty bad about herself. She knew Cowboy was just the man she needed to make her feel wanted again. A fling with him would do the trick. After being attracted to him since the first time she saw him, she was tired of waiting. So she made him an offer she was sure he wouldn’t refuse.
Cowboy tried to stay away from Charlotte. But how could he, when she suggested a week with no strings attached on the cruise? He couldn’t. After a steamy night together, Cowboy comes back to learn that the Royals his partner was protecting, are missing. He knows that they are in real trouble when communications are lost on the ship. What is going on and what happened to the royal couple?
Harbored by the SEAL is a fast-paced, intense, heart-pounding read that will keep you glued to the pages just to find out what will happen next.
Not so captivating as the previous read in this series but it did take me on a cruise . . .
Cowboy was a temptation to Charlotte. Charlotte was the sister of a fellow brother in arms. One week, a cruise, low-self-esteem, danger, confined spaces, and one seriously tempting hot fantasy come to life. books herself on a week-long cruise knowing Cowboy's there on HERO Force business, she’ll get more than the fling she bargained for, with a terrorist cell placing Cowboy and Charlotte firmly in the path of danger. I wanted more.
Leo aka Cowboy is a hoot, but also exceptionally talented at his job. Charlotte is the woman he wants but shouldn’t have as she is a teammates sister. Charlotte disagrees with that premise and sets out on his work assignment to change his mind. Their romance ensues, but so does a terrorist attack on the cruise ship. The team dynamic is very evident here and so is the relationship chemistry. I flew through the story and enjoyed the personalities, team members, the storyline and outcome! Can’t wait to read the next book and see how Jax and Cowboy are doing with their new significant others and work roles!
Charlotte O’Malley needs to purify her mind, body and soul after the damage to her confidence left behind by the time she spent married to her not so great husband. Her remedy is to have a wicked week on a cruise ship with Leo “Cowboy” Wilson. Both of them know that this might not be a great idea but with the attraction they have felt and continue to feel it just might happen. There is one slight problem, though, since Cowboy is on assignment guarding a royal couple on a cruise ship. Mixing work with pleasure might not be wise. As the story progresses it emerges that there is a group on the boat with nefarious intentions and only a handful of people on board to keep them in check till H.E.R.O. Force can get there to save the day.
This was a quick fun romantic read with a hunky alpha male and a smart sassy woman who knew just what she wanted. Their story gave me a break this afternoon and made the gray day a whole lot brighter. The plot was not new but the characters were made for each other and their story entertaining. I am looking forward to finding out what Matteo “Red” will be doing on his intriguing assignment in the next book.
Thank you to the author for the ARC. This is my honest review.
Harbored by the SEAL is the third book in the H.E.R.O. Force series by Amy Gamet- and is part of the Hero Force and Shattered SEALs: Boxset. They are all engrossing romantic suspense stories with a bit of a military romance element and everything from action, adventure, tension, danger, mystery, chemistry, sizzle, drama, drug cartels, emotion, friendships, camaraderie, violence, murder, angst, embezzlement, corruption, forgiveness, hope, love, passion, family, amnesia, runaway bride, terrorists, investigation, undercover MCs, high stakes, agendas, betrayal, pain, sinister forces- to dynamic characters. The story tropes range from opposites attract to second chances, secrets baby, friend’s sister/brother’s friend, amnesia, fake marriage/marriage of convenience, OWYM (reverse age gap), rescue missions, single mother, mafia/cartel trouble, and ‘being on the run’. So, there is something here to suit everyone.

This book opens with a look at one of the perpetrators thoughts. We then see Leo 'Cowboy' Wilson as he settles into his cabin on the cruise ship for his next assignment. Jax told him he was stepping down and when Cowboy returns, he would be handing over the reins to him.
As far as assignments go, this one was pretty cushy. He was paired with a petite agent from the academy, Abby Granger, who would be playing his wife as the two of them keep watch over the Royal couple, Princess Violet and Prince Hugo, who refused bodyguards for this, their honeymoon trip.
Charlotte O'Malley has had her eye on Cowboy for years. He's her brother's best friend and as such Cowboy considers her off limits, even though there's quite the chemistry between them. She was a woman with a mind of her own and her brother has no right to interfere where her love life may or may not be concerned. She saw where Cowboy was heading and since her brother had been hounding her to take a vacation, she booked herself on that same cruise. She has plans to make Cowboy hers.
She visits Cowboy at his suite, and he turns her down, but she's not going to give up so easily.
Cowboy's restraint doesn't last very long, just until that evening in fact. Charlotte is more than happy to get her way.
There's something wrong on this ship and it's not just that one incident. Communication begins having problems, and then computers. As they put two and two together, the just hope back-up can reach them through the weather they're having.
Things get crazy really quickly and protecting the Royals and also keeping Charlotte safe are at the forefront of Cowboy's mind.
So much happens in a short period of time and Charlotte is the one who makes a startling discovery.
I love the way this story plays out, from the setting of the cruise ship to the romance, betrayal, friendship and let's not forget the sizzle.
Harbored by the SEAL HERO Force, Book 3 By: Amy Gamet Narrated by: Janelle Tedesco
Don't let the length of this novella fool you! Amy Gamet has it packed with a story you will love. From the romance to the suspense, it will have you sucked in and totally enjoying yourself! This one lets us get to know Cowboy. He is sent on a mission on a cruise ship and is all about the business. When Charlotte O'Malley, his colleague's sister shows up, things don't go as planned. This story is so much fun. Charlotte has a mind of her own, is strong willed yet vulnerable and is set on having a fling with Cowboy. Cowboy is set NOT to but the attraction is too much to resist. But will this interfere with his mission? There is so much happening, the suspense is high, the suspects are unpredictable and lives are at stake. Give this one a listen, and you will fall for this romantic suspense, and only want more of the Hero Force series.
Janelle Tedesco continues her amazing narration of this series. I am loving her voice, and find her like coming home as I listen. It has overlapping characters, and she is spot on with each voice. I can't wait for the next book!
Leo Wilson, known by his teammates as Cowboy, is a lady's man through and through, never committing to any one woman. In an earlier book in the series when asked whether he has a girlfriend, he claims, "Sixteen cheerleaders from the community college and a cross-dresser named Moe." However, there is one woman he wouldn't mind spending more than a little time with, namely his teammate's sister, Charlotte, but she is strictly off-limits. Sent on assignment on a cruise ship, Cowboy is horrified when he realises that Charlotte has booked her passage on the same liner and although he tries to stay away from her, she makes it difficult for him to turn her down. When the assignment goes bad, Cowboy has his hands full trying to resolve the situation and to keep Charlotte safe. Fortunately, the HERO Group has protocols in place, and when all else fails, he knows they have his six. The action and suspense in this book are only activated at a later stage in the novel, but it is nevertheless intense. This book is generally well written and suspenseful and is a standalone. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
("Cowboy" & Charlotte): TRIGGERS: terrorist, piracy. This book is shorter than the others and involves one of the men of the HERO force and Charlotte who is Hawk's sister (Sheltered by the SEAL). Cowboy is sent on a mission to protect some royals (from where… I don't think it was mentioned or I don't remember). Since the mission just happens to be on a cruise and Charlotte has had a serious thing for Cowboy for years, she takes it upon herself to take a cruise too. On the same ship. 🤦🏾♀️. I didn't like most of the story because it made Charlotte seem desperate. She was constantly throwing herself at Cowboy and he kept turning her down for one reason or another. It was annoying. Then once they finally get together, all hell breaks loose on the ship. People end up dead, communications down and then the Plot twists… Now I have to say that the action and drama was the most exciting. The author never fails to show what these men are good at. So that part I liked but the rest could've been better.
I read Harbored by the SEAL on my mom's Kindle when we traded Kindles.
Leo "Cowboy" Wilson, a member of HERO Force was known for his playboy ways with women. He dates lots of women, has a good time, laughs and jokes with everyone until he meets his teammate's sister, Charlotte O'Malley. He has tired to stay away from her for months because he works with her brother, Logan.
Charlotte has other ideas when she books a room on a cruise ship that Cowboy is working undercover to guard a royal couple on their honeymoon. If it could go wrong on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean it does and the crew from HERO Force joins Cowboy battle the bad guys.
Harbored by the SEAL is fun, has a hot Navy SEAL and strong women to match him in every way. The bad guys are full of nasty surprises that Cowboy leads the way to stop. I love happy endings to hot SEAL stories full of action and Harbored by the SEAL delivers just that.
Harbored by the Seal by Amy Gamet is book number three in the Hero Force series. This is Navy Seal Leo "Cowboy" Wilson and Charlotte O'Malley's story.
Charlotte is recovering from a bad breakup. She decides that she wants a fling with Cowboy. Oh, Cowboy will probably be willing but there is a major problem. Charlotte is the sister to one of his teammates in the Hero Force so she is off limits. Well, that's what Cowboy keeps telling himself.
This is a quick read but is packed with suspense, secrets, danger, and a steamy romance. Amy Gamet has a way of pulling the reader in to where you forget everything happening around you. Loved it!!!
FYI, includes mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Leo and Charlotte have an intense chemistry. When Charlotte decides to go on a cruise she s working security all bets are off. She wants Leo. Leo does not really have a say but her brother is his friend and teammate.
Charlotte wants to find herself again after a divorce like many women, but is she going by this the wrong way, if it is wrong why does it feel so right. This story is more on the sexy side. So if that’s not your cup of tea I would not suggest it, it also has a murder mystery in it. Can Leo do his job to protect the royals and take care of Charlotte.
What pulled me in was the sabotage and mystery on the boat. Who is after the royals? Is Leo’s partner an imposter? I loved the mystery parts.
5 Stars I purchased a copy of the steamy postmilitary suspense romance Harbored by the SEAL in the Hero Force Boxset Books 1-8 by Amy Gamet, and this review was given freely. A drama and action-packed novel of terrorism on the high seas and a love finally realized story. Sent on a Caribbean cruise as protection for a royal couple, Logan’s crafty sister Charlotte and HERO Force’s newly appointed leader “Cowboy” Leo Wilson finally get their moment together only to have their new relationship threatened by a group of terrorist bombers on their cruise ship. 18+ for intimate scenes, violence, and frank language.
This was an enjoyable book but it felt a bit rushed. Leo/Cowboy is on a cruise ship to protect 2 royals with his partner, Abby. One of Leo's teammates, Logan, has a sister who Leo would like to get to know better but since she is family of his teammate, she is off limits. Well, Charlotte, Logan's sister has other plans. So, she finds out that Leo is going on this cruise, and books herself on the same cruise. Things start to go crazy when communication is lost between land and the ship and then the royals disappear.
Cowboy has to keep the royals safe and then, he possibly could take over Hero Force. A lot is riding on this and it looks like things are going well.
Until the cruise ship is taken over from the inside! The Prince and Princess are missing, all communication has been removed and he's falling for Charlotte, Logan's sister. He has no way to reach Hero Force, the ship has bombs hidden on it and there is a storm on the horizon.
This is my first book by this author and it definitely won't be my last. The characters and storyline were realistic and easy to quickly become invested in. When Cowboy meets Charlotte unexpectedly on a cruise where H.E.R.O. Force sent him on assignment, he doesn't realize that their meeting up was because she had set her sites on a fun and sex filled week with him. Neither realize their week will become something greater as they try to stay alive and then decide whether maybe this could be something more permanent. A quick and easy read.
Omg FINALLY we get my favorite HERO force member's story!! Leo "Cowboy" Wilson is absolutely delectable and finally getting to read about him and the girl he can't seem to get out of his head, Chatlotte O'Mallet, is perfect. This story was wayyyy too short but oh so good! I especially loved the Abby twist! I can honestly recommend both this series, as well as anything else Amy Gamet writes. She is truly a gifted storyteller and I look forward to reading the next book in this series!
I love this author! She mixes the right amount of hot seamy scenes with some action pack drama...
To me this book was way to short! I mean I want more danger more seamy scenes! I was really looking forward to Cowboy's story! He is funny smart and way to sexy to be real! Wink wink!
All in all the book was well put together I just wish the author surprise us later in the book about Abby instead of in the middle... I so did not see that coming. But this book got five seamy stars from me!
This one one of the best books I've read this week :) . Yes I read a lot of books and this kept me guessing until the very end. A navy Seal can always get my heart pounding. I couldn't close the book from the moment I first started it ! It pulled me in and never let go. I'd recommend it to all my friends who love a good romance. I'm sure everyone who likes a little excitement would enjoy this book because it gave it out in spades !
It's another great for an amazing series. Great characters in the HERO Force series. I love the chaos that Charlotte brings to the table. Leo or Cowboy seems to be the only one able to tame her. Together, they are hot and sexy. There is lots of laughter and love with these two. Can't wait for the next installment of HERO Force series.
Cowboy and Charlotte were fun to read about. Loved their chemistry and Charlotte's attitude. We had action and lots of things taking place in this fast story. A little shorter but still a great read with characters who are well developed and fleshed out with a great plot. I am giving my voluntary review of an arc I received.
Charlotte and Leo (Cowboy) I 💘 love this story. It had everything you want in this book. It has suspense, drama, romance. I loved the characters too. Love the way he made Charlotte feel. They had passion and the chemistry between them was super electrifying. Read it for yourself!
Leo "Cowboy" Wilson and Charlotte 's story was good though a little too short. I wanted a little more of substance in reference to his family and Charlotte knowing about it. This one had action and hot scenes. Charlotte goes after what she wants. Even though Cowboy is a player he has no idea how fate will bring his match to him.
It kinda moved fast. The couple started off being attracted to one another, and then they hooked up and then we're suddenly in love. Would have liked to see them spending time together and getting to know each other more towards the beginning so it would be believable.
I cant stand dumb heroines that are TSTL and that is exactly what Charlotte is. I stopped when she was sitting at the slot machine internally whining about Cowboy not wanting her. He is on a JOB, helllooooo....and her knowing what they do since her brother works there too?? No, just no. Will not be reading anymore in this series.
Honestly no clear idea what happened when notorious Navy SEAL player Leo "Cowboy" Wilson took up with Charlotte O’Malley, the recently divorced sister of one of his SEAL brothers. I’m pretty sure there was an assassination plot on the water. However, I am certain I wasn’t invested enough in the outing to care about the too thin characters. Rating: 3stars
I have read season two hero force in New York and I think I liked that one more, this is ok but I have read many ex seal teams and most show the wonderful bond of team mates better than this series they are mostly solo or the team are outside etc so you don't get much banter. This one is cowboys love story it's worth the read
