Harper Evans always wanted to go to space.
Abducted by creepy aliens, and then crash landing on the planet that everyone just calls the Fire Planet?
Not what she had in mind.

Running from a huge, ferocious wildfire that's catching up with them fast.

The super confident barbarian has some extremely interesting features to his body, and he turns Harper on like no one else ever has.

Harper is kidnapped twice. The first time is at the station where she is working as a space colonist watching the Fire Planet (Bry) with her three colleagues. Her abductors are a few ugly smelly aliens who want to rape her.

The second time she is kidnapped by a handsome warrior, Vrax'ton, who actually saves her by the smelly ugly aliens. But then he wants to keep her for himself because she is his destined mate.

When his ship crashes on the Fire Planet, the two of them will be trying to run away from a huge fire meant to torch the whole planet before the life on this planet regenerates. They will also fight strange dangerous animals and plants, while they struggle to communicate with each other.

There are plenty of sex scenes on the book. The alien guy has a strange body anatomy, which really pleases Harper. So she basically jumps Vrax'ton constantly and she is not shy to initiate sex.

I have really enjoyed all the books that I have read so far by this author. This time unfortunately, I felt that something was missing and many things were rushed.
I could not really connect to the characters, although the story was pretty interesting.

(I received a copy of the book by the author in exchange for an honest review)

I stopped reading at 45% and skim-read the rest.

The only thing interesting about this book is the book cover. I didn't like the hero or heroine and I hated how they met and the casual way the almost rape of the heroine by horrible snot like aliens was glossed over. Everything else was weird, disturbing, questionable and boring. There was hardly any backstory or fleshing out of the main characters. There was no plot, romance or real chemistry or hot sexy time, just alien mating instinct and plant pheromones which makes everyone hump each other's brains out on a mad dash to create the next generation before a fire storm burns everything on a regular interval on the fire planet. It was both ludicrous and pointless. I'm just glad it's over and done with and I won't be reading the next book in the series.

Well done sci fi romance. Good world building. I really liked the fire planet and appreciated the thought put into it. The warrior trials were well thought out too. The hero and heroine were fated mates which is not a favorite of mine but at least the author put time and effort into them getting to know each other. The relationship was ultimately believable.

I was hoping this one was a bit like Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarians series. It seemed to have a lot of similarities and it did, but it fell flat for me compared to that series.

One glaringly bad part was when they had sex the first time and something "popped" down there... because of his enormous man parts. And she was completely okay with it because it felt so good. WHAT? *blink* There was also some bit about getting through the "narrow part" of her vagina. So... guess it was the cervix that popped? Can we say...Hell Freaking NO?

Yeah, that about did it for me.

Well...........at least it was offered as a freebie. I have to say this book was pretty lame from beginning to end. It had lots of sex but zero passion. The insta-love was brutal. There was absolutely no character or story depth/development in this one. Definitely not a series I will continue. I'm quite surprised I actually managed to finish it.

The imagery in the story is stunning and at time I really felt what the characters were seeing and feeling.  Being trapped on a planet that was engulfed by flames, the terrain and wildlife savage and merciless.  The issue I had with the story is I didn’t feel the urgency or really anything towards the characters.  I never truly connected with them.  I think it was because we were never really given much backstory or anything truly real that makes the reader or at least me connect.

Overall the story was good, I would have loved to see more depth to the characters but Skye has her imagery and world building down!...Sara

Harper is a strong woman but she can do nothing when she is captured by ugly, smelly aliens. Her world, although set in the future where humans are starting to live far from Earth, had never had to deal with aliens before. She is completely at their mercy, which they have none. Fortunately for her she is rescued by another hot alien. What I love most about Vrax'ton is his honorable and noble character. The romance is hot and the sex is often and really hot, but I will keep the reason a surprise.

Harper and Vrax'ton

Human woman and alien alpha except this time they're on a very dangerous planet. The land mass resembles a huge donut and fire continually burns around the ring, circling every 400 or so days.

Everything on this planet is dangerous and out to kill Harper. The only thing keeping her alive is Vrax'ton. He was here once before when he was tested to become a Warrior. They can't out run the fire so how do they survive - that's the story.

Even with the instant mate thing this was a very (good) different human/alien romance.

As a nitpicker, I simply can't "turn off" my brain to enjoy a book. If something is off, even a tiny detail, I'll notice. Now, i have exceptions. I mean, if the details aren't that important or sparse, fine, i can ignore it but when annoying mistake after annoying mistake is done it tends to pile up.

Warning: ranting, nit picking, and spoilers ahead.

After a few chapters I gave up and DNF'd. I was reading this mainly to read the 2nd book cause the heroine shares my name and it seemed interesting but if this writing and lack of basic sci-fi knowledge is what I have to look forward to I'll pass.

I'm not saying it was bad; the writing was fine and i'm sure a lot of erotica fans will like it. But it just wasn't for ME. I nit-pick too much and my brain can't just "turn off" when there's so many loop holes and problems popping up. Maybe it's the autism. Maybe it's the nerd in me. Idk.

This was an action packed romance as H/h were both trying to survive and be rescued from a planet where there is an eternal fire going around the landscape.

H is so sweet and alpha. Even though he wasn’t a virgin, once he saw the heroine, she was it.

Surprisingly good!

I really enjoyed this book, what I liked most of it was the fact that the story focused on the adventure, the race against the eternal fire that advanced yearly on the planet. There was no kind of relationship drama, no heroine questioning everything she did, resisting what she wanted or constantly endangering herself in a bid to prove just how 'strong' and 'independent' she was.

It was free of most of these classical 'alien romance' cliches, the characters were sort of plain but likable and one of my favorite elements was the original way the author solved the communication issues between the main couple.

What I did not like was the cheesy first part of the epilogue and the fact that the ending felt rushed. I don't understand why some authors disrespect their work with weak and lest-just-get-it-over-with endings, a book should be as long as it needs to convey its story at a consistent pace.

I detest when a book isn't cheap smut and still has a cheesy title and cover, to me a shirtless guy in the cover for no reason besides 'that dude's hot' is frankly tacky and completely unimaginative.

So... when I saw the title and cover I wasn't expecting much, I thought it would be a typical alien-takes-captive/captive-resists-and-does-stupid-s**t scenario but it went beyond my expectations.

Not good

This was not a good book. I've never read anything by this author before but enjoy the genre. The whole story revolves around one event so you don't get a good feel for the h or H backstory. The way the writer had the H talk was too distracting. Supposed sexy times were not sexy just gross and unrealistic. There are other books that are way better.

It was horrible from the beginning and I couldn't even finish it. Harper made me 😨. I hated her so much for many reasons. Vrax'ton is 😫. What is good is the cover.

Have you ever had one of those days where life seems to throw everything unexpected at you? Harper’s having one of those weeks. Surely your week isn’t as bad as hers… nearly being burnt alive, surrounded by merciless and savage wildlife.

THE BLURB

Harper can’t decide if she has good or bad luck. First, she’s kidnapped. That’s pretty unlucky. But then in swoops a hero, the handsome alien warrior Vrax’ton to rescue her. That’s good luck, right? Well it only takes a few minutes for her luck to run out again, and they are crash landing on the planet below. Just to make the situation worse, there’s a huge wildfire that’s heading their direction. Soon they are forced to run for their lives, fighting off dangerous animals and alien plants that also seem intent on kill-or-be killed.

TONE OF THE BOOK

Like most of Calista Skye’s novels, this book is relatively light hearted. She’s not so much a comedic writer, but many of her characters will quite happy tease each other with amusing banter. There are plenty of action scenes that keep the tension going, but the characters always find the strength of will to focus on positivity than to get dragged down into woe-is-me situations.

If you are after a fun adventure read thats not heavy on drama or politics, then Fire Planet Warrior’s Captive is perfect for you.

SENSITIVE TOPICS

This book is for for mature audiences: Fire Planet Warrior’s Captive is an erotic romance novel featuring numerous sex scenes.

SERIES SYNOPSIS

Fire Planet Warrior’s Captive is the first book from the Fire Planet Warriors four book series. This book is 174 pages, making it shorter than an average romance novel. Despite the shorter length, Calista Skye has been able to build a rather interesting world filled with rich and dangerous wildlife.

It does not seem as popular, and perhaps has been somewhat abandoned in favour of Calista Skye’s newer Caveman Aliens which has 13 books now published.

THE REVIEW

I appreciated the way that Calista tried to explain the immediate sexual attraction between the couple as a result of the pheromones that the plants around the characters produced. So many writers simply have the characters so quick to have sex merely because the other character is “sexy” or because it’s convenient. The explanation adds to world-building of the planet and universe, and creates a more believable character.

Calista’s world-building is wonderful. As a reader you’ll be thrown into what feels like it could be an actual world. Granted the concept of a donut shaped landscape with fire rotating around it like a clock hand feels somewhat unnatural… But her use of world-building helps to cover any oddities, instead allowing you to focus on interesting elements such as the very unique flora and fauna.

Calista Skye’s is skilled at describing her world and characters; it was easy to imagine what the characters were seeing and feeling. Unfortunately I lacked a connection with the main characters. Had a backstory for either character been included, perhaps I would have been able to relate more. The lack of any meaningful personal character development also meant the characters felt the same going in as coming out. Calista’s Caveman Alien series succeeds where Fire Planet Warriors fell short; each character would be newly empowered by the end of the story.

FINAL WORD

Sadly, the first book in the Fire planet Warriors series left me not as impressed as Calista Skye’s later published series, Caveman Aliens. The book feels like it’s ultimately missing something, and sometimes the pacing feels rushed. If you are new to Calista Skye’s writing I would suggest you start with her Caveman Alien series instead. However if you are already a fan, you’ll probably still find Fire Planet Warrior series enjoyable if not as in depth.

Bring on the Acerex Warrior's!

What a wickedly sinful read this book was! Hot damn did Vrax'ton raise my body temperature, a dirty blond with colour changing eyes, a muscular well defined body and tall too. He was a woman's wet dream come to life and with a libido to leave you thoroughly satisfied everyday of the week, he had a deliciously one track mind that didn't even need the help of the pheromouns that were released in the air at the fire planet they were on. Their were definately no problems with stamina for this warrior, the saying 'anytime anywhere' definately applies to him, he was hotter than the fire raging the planet and could make you burn just as thoroughly he was that insatiable. Could consume you alive with just one look alone, every passionate scene between them had me wound up tighter than a rubber band and in desperate need of a cold shower. The story was fast paced and very enjoyable with a hostile planet environment as the setting, the description of the animal's, plant life and the constant danger they faced kept me hooked (that and the constant hanky panky going on lol). The premise that they would form such a close bond and develop feelings for each other in such a small amount of time was believable seeing as they only had each other, were constantly in danger and couldn't seem to catch a break. Vrax'ton was a fantastic leading alien warrior, deliciously alpha male he was dominating, protective, brave, sweet and with a teasing personality he was absolutely perfect. Harper was quite an easy going personality, she was smart, brave, caring and witty she wasn't afraid to let Vrax'ton know exactly how she felt with actions and words she quite litterely jumped him the first time she felt horny it was hilarious, she sure didn't have any trouble keeping up with him in the lust department her libido matching his own (and who could blame her a girl after my own heart lol). My only comment would be that we're not given a description about what Harper looks like just that she's curvy and has long hair em yeah that's it ow and what her job was at the space station, no family info or where she used to live it was very vague and the description that something popped when she first had sex with Vrax'ton was just plain wierd she wasn't even a virgin so let me ask 'wtf was that'? I have honestly no clue.

An accurate GIF of me waiting for the real plot to begin

× I started this book since I enjoyed Calista Skye's Caveman Aliens, but this was a disappointing series-starter & I lost all my appetite to read through Fire Planet Warriors.

× Nothing exciting happened for atleast 30% of the book and I felt like dnf-ing this and saving myself from self-inflicted boredom.

× It was cliche all over what with the FL being kidnapped by bad-guy aliens (I wasn't a fan of that scene), and her being saved by the hunky ML.

× They get stranded on some weird planet, which too held zero appeal to me. I didn't like the world-building. Period.

× I didn't even like the FL, she talks way too much rather than being cautious and learning more about her surroundings.

× The chemistry between the leads was non-existent, dead. They meet and they have sex. There was nothing building up to that moment that would make the readers feel excited for the pair. Everything felt way too casual, since they just had sex all throughout because of some weird scent that the plants on the planet gave off.

I don't think I will continue with the rest of the books in this series.

Short firey fun….

If you like exploding, vaporous flowers :). This was a fun, funny story that I honestly enjoyed. Was it the best alien romance I’ve ever read, no. However very enjoyable.
Talk about the day from hot, firey hell. Poor Harper just trying to do her job, on a moon, observing a planet that catches on fire once a year. What could go wrong? Craziness ensues and she is (she thinks possibly) rescued by a hot Viking, axe carrying alien who can’t understand her and she definitely can’t understand him. Said rescue goes wrong, crash landing taking place, on the planet that just happens to be on fire. Fun times. V’raxton is in the right place at the right time. Not only to rescue her, but to find his fated mate. Now if he can only keep them alive on the fire planet from hell and find a way off the planet. Over and over again. How could 2 people’s luck be this bad.

So cute, fun and funny story with a little silliness thrown in. If you don’t mind the silliness, pretty good read. I did have a little problem about 1/2 way in with the cave man speaking with a little 3rd person thrown in. Got a little old.

Meh

It wasn't that great of a story. The writing is abrupt. Not sure how to explain it exactly. Everything is begins hurried and ends abruptly. It's the authors writing. It lacks maturity. Like a brand new writer who hasn't figured out how to bring characters and settings to life. Just throws things on the page. My next star came off because these two were installed love, but it seemed childish in nature. I get fated mates, but she had no idea that's what they were she. She's spouting I love you after a day together. The there is the issue that they are in the most dangerous place in the universe surrounded by constant danger in every form and they are humping like bunnies all the time. That just isn't safe in that setting and actually really stupid. The only time it was acceptable was when danger was absent due to the bird. Every other time was just eye rolling t to me.

>Book Review – Fire Planet’s Captive
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the series and ends in an HEA. Harper is a human explorer on an alien planet’s remote moon. She is kidnapped by creepy raping aliens and saved by a huge hot alien. Vrax’ton saves Harper and crash lands on a dangerous fire planet while trying to get away. The descriptions of the plant life, weird bugs and fire on the planet are very rich. This whole story is unique in that all of the senses are used in the descriptions. The author describes taste, smell and color vividly.
>The interactions between Harper and Vrax’ton are hot. I wish there was more of the story taking place on Vrax’ton’s home planet. Harper’s crew is introduced, probably to use in subsequent stories. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this story 4 stars. I needed more of the story to take place on the home planet.

First in series.

I really liked the previous series ( cavemen ) I’d read by this author and decided to delve into this series.

Based on a moon in space with 3 other women gaper is the biologist of the quad that is observing the goings on, on the near fire planet.
Stolen by rapey aliens, she finds herself rescued by a hunka hunk of vikingesk alien...I cannot and will not attempt to spell his name... after being pursued by the rapey aliens they crash land on the fire plant. The same fire planet that is used as a ‘right of passege’ for the Viking boys to become Viking me.... yeah the majority die by being eaten by face attacking butterfly’s but it’s all good because the few that survive are rewarded with the warrior title and knowledge that they RAWK.

A total boink fest from start to finish but great all the same.

Esse livro é ruim. E nem precisei chegar no segundo capítulo para notar isso. Ela é bióloga, nem sabe fazer seu trabalho direito, mas por algum motivo foi escolhida para essa missão super importante. Por que não? E claro, a equipe é toda feminina.

*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*

I really enjoyed this book; it was exciting, hot, sexy yet full of mystery and danger at every turn.

This was an intriguing story with lots of touch and go situations that leave your heart racing. I liked both characters; they had great chemistry.

I think I literally threw up in my mouth, in the beginning, when Harper was describing the look/smell of the aliens touching her. There were a few unresolved issues such as, why Vrax thought his people wouldn't accept Harper as his mate.

The author describes the surrounding area, creatures, plants and flowers
beautifully throughout.

The ending felt very rushed as opposed to the rest of the book.

I enjoyed this book from start to finish, it’s about a fire planet that keeps burning all the time, Harper and her friends Ava, Lilly, Charlotte have been studying it from a safe distance looking at it before heading inside she is kidnaped by aliens and when she wakes up she tired up naked and what looks to be a tray of surgical instruments beside her she panics and just before they touch her whole is blow in the wall and she is saved by a very good looking man/alien as they make there escape his ship is fired upon and now they are heading straight to the fire planet. Do they survive, can they understand one another and what happens with chemistry between them is off the charts to find out more get this book.

Long live Calista

I could not put this book down. The plot was perfection. This author knows how to come up with stories no one else has ever thought of. I especially liked the descriptions of the plants and animals on the fire planet. Even though I knew it was fiction , it seemed plausible and even right the way things worked together. I have just discovered this author and I plan on getting all her books. I hope she writes more in all her series. I will pray for her good health and tremendous imagination! Calista, you are one in a million and I am in awe of you!!!!! Keep writing!

I really love Callista Skye’s world building!

Her romance plots are sweet and simple. It’s always a fight for survival story with lots of adventure and discoveries. The intimate moments could be better or a bit more realistic but not really complaint worthy.

I have already read her “Caveman” series and I’m starting this “Fire Planet” series. I have already decided to invest in this author and have already purchased half of her book catalog so far. I will get the rest after I have finished this series, the “Given” series and the “StarSet” series first.

These exciting adventure sci-fi romance books are a nice read and I encourage Ms. Skye to keep them coming. ☺️

running from the heat

It was not a perfect story, but I gave it high rating for the couple and the unusual setting, and story. Author has good imagination.
Some things could have used deleting or updating.
I am not a mother, but one thing I do know from observing others. There is no way a human would want their children going on the planet. So I foresee an major issue when their children grow old enough to enter. Not to mention the idea that they are not given any survival skills is bonkers.

Harper has the worst luck! She is kidnapped...twice! Crash lands on a hostile planet and has a serious hot alien who appears to like her a bit too much!

This was another quick read for me. There was enough world building to pull me and keep me interested. I would loved it to be a tad longer. The ending just seems a bit rushed. I would have loved more oomph to the backstory of why his council wouldn't have been overjoyed at him finding his mate!
