This book is a must read for anyone who was brought up thinking that they are obligated to pass up their own needs for the benefit of others. This book breaks down the fallacies of selflessness. This is beyond a typical self help book, because it lacks the sugar coated fluff and positive mental attitude stuff. It is straight forward and realistic. The title will fool you. It isn't about how to be a jerk at all. It is about how to look after oneself objectively.

A must life manual.

One of the best books i've ever had. Simple, direct, practical, and easy to apply. The book is so realistic and gives a heads up on everything related to CONTROL tactics that are being used against us since we were young. Easy step by step manual/guide to follow on daily situations, and it lets you SEE alot of what is going around you, what are the keywords ppl use to manipulate to control you. I read this book every month as i consider it my practical manual dealing with different types of ppl.

Highly recommend if you want to take control of your life, to be free and fortified against any mean of control.

"If all of your value comes from other people, as soon as they start to take that value away, your confidence will be shaken. ”

A book that will make you more confident, proactive and bolder. Being ruthless with oneself is not tantamount to being evil but being more assertive and going after your dreams and aspirations, ignoring the jibes and warnings of all naysayers around you, be it they are your parents, friends, spouse or kids. In other words refusing to be a slave and be independent. Though concise, this book is full of easy to apply practical rules and can be pursued by any. In succinct the book teaches one how to go after one's ideals and how to finally achieve it irrespective of what others think of them or advise against them. A must read and is highly recommended.

The only reason I finished this book is because of my own issues of feeling guilty for leaving things unfinished.

I was able to finish this book in 2 sittings. The way the text is formatted and printed means that a book that should really be 90 or so pages long is spread across 208 pages.

To be ‘ruthless’, The book itself is really poor. It’s just paragraphs of empty motivational stuff you see on social media or what you imagine one of those YouTube Alpha Male motivational speakers probably say in their MLM courses. The examples given are cartoonish. The book often contradicts its own lessons of being ruthless. Really not worth reading.

Great read

Full of practical advice that you can take action on now. The book is full steps to take to being ruthless, meaning assertive and leaving in the now. It presses on being present, not living in the past nor the future but now. Going after your ideal self today, not tomorrow, it may never come.

The book expands on having meaningful goals that are yours only, not societies, your mon or pop, friends, but yours only, and take action on them everyday.

Well recommended!

It wasnt easy for me to absorb this book, since it has many ideas that contract my behavior that needs to change. The book is very helpful and it contains many tips that are clearly explained to put into practice...

Decent

I enjoyed this book, but the more I read it the more it seemed to repeat itself. The language was mundane and the examples were always the same. Good read and informative but could have been presented better.

good content, bad editing

The content of the book was actually really good, the only problem I had was the lack of proofreading. Several times throughout the book there were glaring grammatical errors that made me question the quality of what I was reading.

The Prince? no

I was expecting something far more Machiavellian and was a little disappointed to see that “ruthlessness” has been reduced essentially to little more than try hard and hope for the best.

I’m so sorry that I put this on my Christmas list and that someone actually bought it for me because it’s a total load of shite. It was probably written by some right wing AI bot. Not a single piece of good advice in this whole book. Don’t bother with it.
