A good investment strategy book that offers a different approach to some of the other personal finance books out there, but don't have high expectations from it - it won't answer all your questions.

The narration style is excellent and not at all pedantic. I found it very easy to read and understand - one can expect it from the style of both the author's blogs. There are lots of helpful resources and planners - kudos to the authors.

I had high expectations from this book but was disappointed. I think it caters to people who are already trading, know a little about investing and an attempt to convince them to look towards investing. That's because there are some stories and terms which will confuse the beginner
like NBFC, HUL, ESOP. I only realized HUL is Hindustan Unilever when I googled for it. It could've been a better read if some of these terms were explained straight away so that they don't get to their phones to search.

I also feel that there could have been more depth to the book. For example, the chapter on Portfolio Construction is almost dedicated to Fund Manager selection.

I found the Appendix much more useful - especially the mutual fund selection process. If it was covered as a chapter of it's own, it'd have been fantastic. Well, that's my opinion anyway.

Overall, I got a bit of direction about Goal based investing and there are unanswered questions but perhaps a single book was never meant to answer all the questions anyway!

Not much valuable if you were investing already in stock markets

I had very high expectations when I bought this book. But all the author does is to convince you in buying equity mutual funds, insurance and diversification. They are all good. But there nothing new here that is not available in the free domain already. I was expecting some value in this but there is nothing here. If you have right insurance, equity mutual funds and proper asses planning already.

4/5

A good primer for the people trying to put together their financials, life planning on track. The online tools though were a disappointment. In a nutshell, it is a very useful gift to young earners to encourage them to think about money, how to handle it and how to plan for one's financial goals.

Its kind of good refresher and puts the various pieces of puzzle in right places. I presume the subject of tracking and debt funds was one with lesser coverage. I found the book to be advertisement to the blogs than vice-versa.
