A Great mystery that keeps you guessing until the end!

Fatal Fall was my first read in the Jess Kimball series. I was not disappointed. Although it started a little slow, the pace picked up quickly and I was drawn in. As soon as you think you have something figured out, you are pulled away from that with another twist and turn to the story. Is this seriously injured boy Jess' abducted son? Loved that I was kept guessing until the end. I also really like the well developed character of Jess Kimball and plan on reading more in this series. I received a copy of this book from Fairfield Publishing but the opinions expressed here are my own.

Jess flew to Randolph, WA on a lead about her missing son who would be around 14 years old now. The boy fell out of a tree on Senator Meisner’s large, wooded property and sustained threatening head injuries. What was a boy his age doing 30 miles away in a tree? With the help of Charlene, one of Randolph’s police force, they find out that the boy was adopted through illegal means and that he is Charlene’s grandson. The killer of several people involved in the investigation was a complete surprise which I appreciated. My only critique would be that the two fight scenes Jess was in were a bit hard to follow or imagine as the reader. Lee Child does such a better job at describing fight scenes. This didn’t take away from understanding the storyline, but did have my scratching my head a bit. I did like how fast-paced it was and was easy to keep coming back to.

"Fatal Fall" (book 5 in the Jess Kimball series)
by Diane Capri and Nigel Blackwell

Another fast paced, twist and turning novel cowritten by two great authors, Diane Capri and Nigel Blackwell.

A little boy falls from a tree near a senator's property line. One fall. One event. Suddenly there is a lot of interest in regard to the little boy directly. As some answers are readily available, others take a longer time in arriving. Which then leads to more questions.

As authorities wait for the information and seek out answers, a larger group of people outside this small circle suddenly become invested in the child as well as what information is being sought out and why.

Pulled in from the beginning, "Fatal Fall," is a fast paced novel with many twists and turns. It keeps the reader on their toes. Just as they think they have things all figured out, another piece of the puzzle is thrown into the mix needing to be addressed and placed correctly where it belongs.

A novel full of surprises that holds the readers attention throughout, keeps them guessing, and has some surprising twists, "Fatal Fall" is another great Jess Kimball book. One I would recommend to anyone interested in this genre.

Another great page turner from Diane Capri and Nigel Blackwell! A little boy falls from a tree and is left for dead. Fortunately he is found alive, but in serious condition. Investigative journalist Jess Kimball is informed that he matches the description of her long missing son. As she gets to the location of the boy, it seems that more and more people are interested in the boy. There are so many twists and turns in this story that I couldn’t stop reading it. Although it seems in the beginning to be about the boy, as I got into the story there is much more going on than I first realized. Jess is a fascinating character and nothing seems to stop her. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the books in this series.

Jess gets a call about a 14 yr old boy that could be her son. Her son was taken when he was a baby and she has been searching for him ever since. She travels to the state where the boy, Peter is located. He has fallen out of a tree, a 40 foot fall and is in a medically induced coma. Jess wants to see where the accident happened and encounters the senator and his wife on whose property the tree is located. It's in the woods but they aren't happy with Jess and the police officer Nelson being there. I really enjoyed this book. We find out why the boy climbed the tree and what the senator is hiding.

Another exciting adventure for Jess Kimball who investigates stories no one else wants to touch. Jess works for a famous magazine and can pretty much follow her own lead when she finds a story she feels is worth looking into. This time, Jess’s own personal tragedy is center front in her investigation when a possible candidate is found seriously injured in a hospital who fits the profile of her abducted son. The story does not disappoint. It is exciting, and thoughtful, and thoroughly entertaining. I recommend all of these stories. They do not need to be read in order, but the continuing story of Jess’s search for her son is a theme that grows larger in each adventure.

A fast paced tale that keeps you guessing. It read very quickly and adding just the right amount details about the main characters to keep you interested. I really enjoy following Jess' adventures and the ending this time did surprise me, that rarely happens. My only complaint is that it ended too quickly.

As usual Diane Capri writes a great story, her characters are well developed. I didn't want to put it down. Really great read. I have read many of Diane's books and intend to continue to read them as long as she writes, never a disappointment from one of her stories.
I would like to thank Diane for a early book in exchange for an honest review. Can hardly wait for the next book in this series.

Jess has been looking for her missing son for many years. Her investigator calls her about a boy in the hospital. She and the boy are in danger because of a senator, who will go to any lengths to keep things secret. As usual, an amazing book, that doesn't allow you to put it down , until finished
