Book one in Tom Philbin’s thrilling Precinct Siberia series!
Four police officers—Joe Lawless, Barbara Babalino, Leo Grady, and Arnold Gertz—work to uphold the law at the tough Fifty-Third Precinct, a vicious, crime-ridden precinct that is the dumping ground for misfit police officers.
Tom Philbin is a writer of numerous books and has also written articles for a variety of magazines, including Parade, Woman's Day, and Reader's Digest. He lives in Centerport, New York.
Really enjoyed this first book in the Precinct Siberia series (my second, read the 2nd one and enjoyed it, too). The misfits of all the precincts end up in the 53rd, which has a very high crime rate. It's a punishment assignment, but they are still some good cops here. This details some of the officers, why they are there, and a few of their cases. Does a good job in giving you info on the characters but also keeping your interest.
Highly recommended it's a police procedural novel with just a bit of humor. They are misfits, but other than that, it's written fairly straight.
First book in the Precinct: Siberia series is a pretty good police procedural about the worst precinct in New York.
There's really several stories here. One is about a sex killer, and the way various police react to the investigation. another is about a policewoman who posed for a nudie magazine years ago, and aother policeman tries to find out who is stealing goats.
