AKA Barbara A. Masci & Barbara Masci-Goss

From Kindle Author Page:

Barbara Masci Goss is now just Barbara Goss. I live in Western New York State and have three grown sons, two step daughters and 10 grandchildren. I wrote my books in the early '90's and now that I'm retired I have obtained the book rights and am converting them to Kindle. That's exciting for me because I don't read paper books at all anymore. I have designed new covers with a new author name: Barbara Goss. My first two books "Captured Heart" and "Forbidden Legacy" went to a second printing in the mid '90's and the publisher added my name as Barbara Masci-Goss, but I now prefer to keep it short and sweet.

From Author Website:

I'm from Western New York, and I live with my husband and two cats, Mandy and Molly.

I wrote these books in the early 1990's in paperback. My publishers were Fleming Revell and Baker Book House.

Now, I have the rights and have put them out on E-Books so people can still enjoy them.

My goal in writing these books is to provide clean but still romantic and adventurous novels for all ages. I've always felt that we needed more clean, wholesome books. When I wrote these books there were but a handful of Christian romance writers. Now, thankfully there are more. My biggest influence in writing was Grace Livingston Hill. Enjoy.

This was amazing! I completely enjoyed the audio version of this book but the story was simply beautiful! I was very involved in the book and found myself crying and laughing with the characters! This is the best book Barbara's written (at least of the many I've read)!!! The deep growing love was perfect and the deep conversations they had are what I have been craving! Seems lately most characters are full of doubt and make wrong assumptions but in this book they actually talk things out instead of guessing incorrectly and causing more issues!!!! Very, very well done Barb!

This is the first book I have listened or read from this author. The author brings a lot to the table from an interesting read that has many twists and turns that you won’t see coming. It is a total different kind of read that will having you scratching your head at times wondering just what Graham has up his sleeve. He is playing a full hand holding his cards close to his chest. I am not sure I would have done as he did this could have went so bad so fast.

Ms. Boggs’s narration was good. There was one place where there was a little bit of a volume change so slight you can almost not hear it. The narrator brings a lot to the story with her many different character voices. You have no trouble knowing who is talking and what they are feeling. At times she does sound a little flat but for the most part she does a great job. Her tones for the most part are very good, she chuckles, laughs, is sad or happy when it is need. There are no background noises just a very clear, clean audio that the narrator delivers very well. She has a very pleasant voice that really pulls the reader in. I thought her performance was good, she is entertaining and keeps her listeners invested in the audio. Except for the one little volume change if any breaks were taken I could not tell. This is the first time I have listen to this narrator but it won’t be the last.

Grace is a woman all alone with no family. She just wants someone to love and love her. It does not take long for her to love this family and them her. What a kind, caring and so sweet women you fall in love with her almost from the first page. At times she is confused but always turns to God to help find her way. Graham comes across as wishy washy and at time may confuse the reader but read on you will find the meaning behind all that he does. He really is a sweet kind man that wants the best for his family. His granddaughter is just so charming, sweet and delightful it didn’t take long for her to steal my heart. His children are kind and warm up to Grace. He does have one son that lost his wife and has turned his back on God for taking away his one true love. As Grace tries to get to know the man she is to marry she does her best to help his children and granddaughter by bring them out and trying to being their faith back in God.

What a delightful clean listen that at times your jaw will drop, you will laugh and become very sad at all this family has gone through. It is Inspirational with a message you can relate to about forgiveness, lose, learning to live again as well as finding your way back to God after a lose. It is a touching listen that will pull on your heart. If you have ever lost someone one this book could help you deal with that lose. It is a book full of love, strength and so much more. If you are looking for a short delightful book that gives meaning and will keep you entertained I hope you will pick this story up. I look forward to listening to more stories from this author and narrator.

A Tangled Web

What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. The story is definitely a tangled web when Graham asks Grace to be his betrothed and she moves west to marry him. But when she gets there things aren't as they seem. Graham wants to take time to get to know her and doesn't appear to be interested in marriage at all. And then there is his son, Chase, who is still grieving over his wife's death. And she's growing to love Grahams' daughter and grandchild who also live there. As the weeks pass, Grace realizes Graham has no interest in marriage and perhaps she should leave. But what about the others? Can she bare to lose them all. Read the story to find out the ending. You'll be glad you did.

Narrator Reagan Boggs gets deeply involved in her characters as she vocalizes them; author Barbara Goss has again provided her interesting people to portray. In this standalone story our Baltimore orphan Mail Order Bride finds herself affianced to a man old enough to be her father, with overwhelming sorrow and grief preying on the household. Can her faith sustain her and help the father, son and daughter plus granddaughter move on with their lives? Well this is an HEA (Happily Ever After), after all; but how long will it take until you unravel the full plot?

Mail order ruse

Love the story of Grace and Chase. I listened to the audio version which the narrator did a very good job in bringing the characters to live. Chase is a widower with a young girl, his father brings Grace to town as a mail order bride but makes her think she is for him but really for Chase. I really enjoyed this book, whatever version you have you will enjoy it but the audio version is really good.

Definitely a ruse

Grace is in for a big surprise. A hard life she had led and now surprises are in store. A very good book with a twist for the bride to be as far as who her husband to be really is. Things are not always as they seem and this is one of those stories that keeps you guessing a bit. Very good reading. Thank you Barbara Goss for another great book to read.

In love with this Mail Order Bride Series!

It's no secret that Barbara Goss is one of my top favorite authors, I have yet to find one of her books that I didn't like. She is a top notch author who is truly a craftsman.. Err craftswoman, when it comes to words and storylines. I'm particularly enjoying her Mail Order Bride series. After reading Goss' Mail Order series, I've realized I've found yet another subgenre of the historical\western genre to enjoy. :)

Mail Order Ruse will keep you guessing and contains a delightful twist. The characters are well developed and real, ones that you'll have no trouble relating to and loving. ** Can we take a minute to drool over the hero in this book? ...... OK, I'm done. ** Grace Webster arrives in Hunter's Grove to meet the man she is suppose to marry. Graham Easton is good looking, though he is also old enough to have grown children and a granddaughter. His age doesn't bother Grace, but the fact that he keeps putting off the nuptials and practically ignores her does! What kind of a ruse is this? ;) Trust me, you'll want to read to find out!

Mail Order Ruse, Barbara Goss

Good book. Enjoyed it. Interesting plot. A little slower than this authors usual line. Not a lot if mystery that usually follows in her writing

The twists and turns in this book were great! I never saw some of them coming, which made the book even more fantastic. I loved the characters as well. I though it was a well thought out and put together book. I look forward to reading more of this series.

I just love this type of story. So clever, so engrossing and so full of blossoming love.
The father sure was one very clever, loving and cunning individual. He had me puzzled and guessing with his strange moves.
All in all, a beautifully written love story by Barbara Goss and cleverly narrated by Reagan Boggs - love her voice acting. A great team bringing the reader/listener a real treat of a story.
The audiobook version was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost and this is my unbiased review.

Mail Order Ruse
: Barbara Goss

An orphaned girl becomes a mail order bride for a Kansas rancher. The plot seemed to be predictable until a couple unexpected twists that I didn't see coming. A nice little romance book. If you like a nice clean historical listen then you will enjoy this book.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Reagan Boggs brought the story to life.
