This is one of the very first books I remember my Mom reading to me as a child & I still have it! I pull it out every once in a while re-read it. Such wonderful memories come flooding back every time I read it. Granted, this book is a bit sad at parts, but it definitely well worth the read.

I love the illustrations in this book. I always wondered how the children's toys ended up everywhere and sometimes just disappeared...this helps explain that! Bundy the bunny is left behind by his humans, so he decides to borrow a sailboat and go on a picnic. He has a lot of help from the cat, and a host of forest animals. Even though he is able to borrow a boat and make sandwiches, he CAN'T SWIM! Never fear, his friends are near. The story is short and interesting with very descriptive pictures and is perfect for a bedtime story for younger children.
