Taylor Blackhawk has been home for two years. For two years he’s fought the demons that followed him. Until now he could do it alone. Something set a trigger that has his nights of hell running wild and disrupting his already turbulent sleep. PTSD is getting the best of Taylor but not for long because in Brotherhood you are never alone. His Brothers stand up and fight with him and for him. Badass doesn’t just run deep in the Princes, it holds on too. There is no old lady war in Taylor’s book. The war here is Taylor’s fight to keep hold onto reality, Beth and his Brothers. Through a bumpy ride Taylor finds his happy—in himself, with Beth and in Brotherhood with the Princes.
L. Ann started with the Baxters and followed that with multiple series and genres. While her books feature paranormal, FBI, ex-military and Badass Bikers, L. Ann is writing about the strong women that these men need in their life to help right the world's wrongs and keep their small part of the world safe. The women are extraordinary, strong and determined to make a difference. The men fight for right in every book. Yes, they kill people. Yes, the MC shoots at the bad guys’ feet to cause them pain. Yes, some throw tampons at each other regularly. That being said, they do these things while stopping human trafficking and experimentation, bringing their world into legitimate businesses, fighting gangs to keep drugs away from their town and kids, keep women sheltered safely while trying to stop domestic abuse. These are men that don’t leave a pack, Team member or Brother behind. They don’t treat women as possessions and they don’t cheat. Respect takes on an honorable meaning. Women and kids are cherished. Everyone is looked out for and everyone is equal. L. Ann has made amazing worlds, tackled the taboo subjects and made it easy to imagine living in a world where your protection comes from the vampires, shifters, freaky kids, albinos and orientals, military turned FBI and some Badass Bikers. With readers writing about rereading the series over and over, she feels like she’s told her characters’ stories in a way that would make them proud. Every book will make you laugh, every book will make you angry for the wrong that happens in the world. Every book will make you cry for the pain that a character feels. Every book gives you hope that we may just get it right yet
I first started by reading MC: Knight and then realised that I wanted the whole story and that started with the Baxter's .. although the first books didn't have a lot of crossovers they did set the scene for what is to come in the other books as the stories move along so their importance to the series' as a whole cannot be overstated
I have just read the 22 books to date back to back in the order published on the author's website and decided to review them as a whole. I really don't think they stand well as stand alones as there are too many common threads, too much history and too much character crossover for that so it really is one (very) long story over a very long period of time with each series concentrating on a particular character group but including all of the others (except for the initial Baxter books which didn't have a lot of MC action but did set the scene for a lot of what is to come).
I loved every book although of course some more than others but i am giving an overall five star rating. My biggest issue was that sometimes (often) i found it difficult to be sure exactly who was talking and had to reread sections to try to work it out. I think that perhaps what the author is seeing in her head moves a bit too fast to translate well to the written word for some of us (something like the thoughts of some of her characters - you need to read the stories to understand my thought process here!!)
My other issue was keeping my head straight with the cast of thousands (and this is not an exaggeration) ... with each story building on to what has come before and what will come to be and with most characters continuing to play a place in each consecutive story I found myself constantly stopping to think - now who was that, whose child is that, whose partner is that???? but even amongst that confusion I loved the relationships and the strengths they provided.
The author has an amazing imagination and has brought to the table a fantastic story that i will continue to read and at some point will def read again. I have always loved and had an interest in native american philosophy and also in paranormal and psychic connections and love the way these are ingrained into the books as the stories unfold.
Although there were some things that caused me slight annoyances I cannot deny that as a whole this fits as one of the best series i have enjoyed. my thanks to the author for providing such a thoroughly engaging tale
It was really interesting to watch Taylor's story untold and develop. I enjoyed that this story chose to focus on his relationship with PTSD and how everyone came together to support him. I think it's a very important topic and something not a lot of authors are brand enough to tackle. And conquer. I really love that l. Anne is able to continue to bring in favourites from characters we've learnt to love from pervious books and even series.
Sniper is not only the story of Taylor and Beth falling in love, it’s also a story about the love of a family who refuse to let go of one of their own and are determined to help him fight any battle, even if he’s fighting himself. I’ve been waiting for Taylor’s story for a long time. From the first time he appeared in Cloud’s book he tugged at my heart strings. He went from being an adolescent boy no one wanted to a beloved son and brother that many looked up to. After honorably serving his country as a Navy Seal, he came home with lots of medals but also with PTSD after a heartbreaking incident during a battle.
Every time a brother finds a woman the MC finds themselves at war. Although there was lots of action in Sniper with the obligatory gunfights and kidnappings, the actual war fought was Taylor and his family fighting against his PTSD. With Beth, he had the added worry of possibly harming her during a flashback.
I loved Taylor. He was everything I adore in a book boyfriend. Alpha to his core, but a wounded warrior and unbelievably strong. He was loyal and heart meltingly loving towards his family, especially Mucimi, Brantley’s toddler son. Beth was the perfect heroine for Taylor. She had an open mind and was completely patient and understanding with everything he and his crazy family threw at her.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that Sniper didn’t make light of PTSD by making it seemingly miraculously easy for Taylor to overcome. Even with all the freaky healing abilities of his brothers and cousins, there was no simple fix for him. He had to make the decision to take the steps to learn how to deal with his triggers so he could lead a long, normal life. The importance of family and friends to the healing process was showcased as was the fact that so many of our military do not receive the assistance they deserve.
Although Taylor’s journey to overcome his PTSD is the main theme of the book, there is lots of action including gunfights and kidnapping attempts to keep things interesting. The antics of both the MC and Princes family kept me smiling, and Taylor and Beth had plenty of sexy times to keep the heat level where I like it – up high. There were some editing issues, but I expect these with L. Ann Marie’s books. Regardless of the editing problems, I read Sniper all the way through in one sitting.
Loved Taylor and Beth's story. Taylor has been living with PTSD. He is seeking help, but is still struggling. Meeting Beth makes him want to try harder. Beth brings him sunshine. They have some bumps, but she is a nurse, she gets it, and activity looks for ways to help Taylor. His brothers and MC Baxter family are all in for him too.
There is trouble with the PD. Cleaning house seems to be a never ending process. Danny and Steve lend support. I love when they are around!
I fun, fast paced, and steamy story.. I loved how Taylor's type of PTSD was addressed. Though his his story is fictional, it is still inspiring and gives hope. Having grown up with an Uncle who lived with it, when it was still termed shell shock or battle fatigue, it's a subject I am very familiar with and sensitive to. He has passed on, years of smoking and drinking, his coping strategy's, took their toll. We have come a long way in recognizing and treating, but still have a long way to go. I hope his story inspires greater understanding and compassion for those who live with PTSD and other mental health issues.
Another great book from L. Ann Marie. Each book she writes, gets better and better. PTSD is a topic most people know nothing about, L. Ann Marie hits the nail on the head. My father had it, most of the guys I went to school with had it, and last of all my step-son. Taylor, "Sniper" has gone through a lot and has all his family, brothers and his love interest backing him. Beth fell head over heels with Taylor and didn't give up on him. Beth gave "Sniper" something to live for. She wanted to help, and with the help of Lily and others, they started a group to help all who suffered from PTSD. Just loved reading about this family of MC's. Of course, Uncle Steve had to give "Sniper" a dog, to help him get through his episodes. V.P. Steve has given dogs to all he thought needed them for some reason or another. Beth is my hero in this book, not giving up on "Sniper". Her bright smile shining on all. And I love all the kids, the next generation. I'm sure L Ann Marie will be writing about them in the future as they grow up. Again, you must read this book. You won't want to put it down.
How to describe this book isn't easy, it's a heartfelt tale not only of actual family but a brotherhood family. Taylor Blackhawk came home from serving his country only he was not the same Taylor who went away. His Mc family notices how much he's struggling with PTSD, he thinks he's handling it but in reality he's only doing so because they're silently supporting him in ways he doesn't even notice. When he meets Beth he realises he needs more help, this is the story of how one woman and a huge family support and help him get to a place where he can function without being a danger to himself or others. It wouldn't be our Mc though if it didn't have a whole lotta drama, action and humour. Brilliant book. Definitely a must read book and series
In book six Snipper L Ann Marie hits on a subject that doesn't get enough attention, PTSD. Taylor came back from his tour for the military and he wasn't the same as when he left. He now suffers from PTSD and counseling isn't really help. When he almost kills himself his family steps in. When the Princes' say ' All in' they mean not just their spouses but family too. Taylor meets Beth and they date and get to know each other when they can with their schedules. When Taylor want stay the night or talk to her she looks for answers from his family. Taylor uses that as an excuse to push her away because he is afraid he will hurt her when he has a flashback. Have I got your interest peaked. Go one click it. You'll love it!!!
I absolutely loved this book!! Taylor's struggle with his triggers and PTSD showed that with lots of support and community outreach that we can help those that have served this country. There was so much information woven in the story that it just made it all the better. Taylor and Beth's story was beautiful. The relationship development was perfect and believable. It made my heart hurt for all the vets out there that struggle and don't have the means or knowledge of treatment. God bless those that struggle and live with PTSD everyday and God bless our active and reserve military! Great book, great message, and highly recommend! This series just keeps getting better and better!!
I just read the 1st book in the MC series and then much later read it again then I ended up reading the full series of both sets of books Yes sex comes into the stories but these are couples and trio's who all love each other and in any relationship sex plays a big part in your life but the books are not about sex they really are about love not just between man and woman but for all human to human caring and looking out for each other protecting the vulnerable yes I cannot see the US nor UK or any country having groups of people policing them without elections etc but it is Fiction it is just a story and I must say I enjoyed each story but it's only Fiction sadly not Real life
I've read every book of l.Ann marie,'s and every book gets better and better I havnt read a book of hers yet that I havnt liked or enjoyed would totally recommend reading all her books you wont want to read them just once I've re read them at least 5-6 times over and don't get bored of them so would definitely recommened these books you get it all badass, gentle, action, love, x
I love that this book addresses PTSD. It is something that many men and women that served our country deal with on a daily bases. It is definitely not something to be ashamed of and is something that needs better programs for assistance. Thank you for writing about it in a supportive but still bad a## way!! I'm so glad that Taylor finally got his happy ending, he deserves it!!
"Sniper" (Princes of Prophecy Book 6) by L Ann Marie is a good read. I really enjoyed Taylor and Beth's story. This book tackles an important topic, PTSD. Sniper is a great addition to this series. If you enjoy entertaining and interesting characters, action, MC life, former military, close family and friends, series, and more then you should check out these books. I'm looking forward to see what happens next.
Amazing book about such an important topic. Taylor Blackhawk was a satellite on a Seal team. Now he has PTSD. Sniper tells about what he deals with how the Brothers help him deal. About falling in love and living his life. Keep your tissues handy.
That was amazing. I love how focused it was on Taylor and his PTSD every should know the after effects a soldier goes through that's not just physically on the outside. These men put their lives on the line for us we all should be helping, supporting and showing them the respect they deserve.
This book was different than the other books in these series and didn't include the typical old lady war however it showed what taylor and every other victim of ptsd deals with on a daily basis. This book made me laugh and made me cry but all in all its just as amazing as every other book. Way to go L Ann <3
Expect as much as I love the rest of them it pinpoints talking about PTSD which is a very hard diagnosis to live with I have a daughter with it and she is only 17 thank you for speaking about. These books make me laugh cry get angry emotions all over the place and I reread them all the time thank you
This book tore my heart apart in parts of it. Don't think I have ever cried as much as I did in this on. Taylor went through so much in this book. Hard to believe he was even functioning in his day to day life. Beth was great for him. I just love Her and Delta. Can't wait to see what happens next in this series. I recommend both the author and this series.
This is my favorite series of books. Taylor and Beth are an awesome couple. I love that PTSD was addressed in this book and love how the entire Brotherhood, family and Beth helped Taylor and never let go. I am so excited for the next book.
I liked this one. Happy ending. Deals with military ptsd and how devastating it can be and some treatments to alleviate the worst symptoms. Also, love, caring, danger, action. Enjoyed the characters. Re-read in march, 2017...even better. Re-read again in september, 2018...it's like visiting family.
I love this book and all the others in the different series's that go with it. The main topic of this one is different from the others. It focuses on Taylor and his life after the military.
I love all of L. Ann Marie's books! They get better with each one... Taylor is battling real issues that people face every day! Beth is a strong woman who supports him in his struggles! Couldn't put it down!!
I loved it! It works well and fits together well with all the rest of the books. I really enjoyed reading the whole series of books and will do it again. Thank you L. Ann Marie Excellent job!
As usual L Ann wrote an amazing book. I have read this one at least 20 times ( probably more) , I didn't realize I hadn't reviewed it. The story of Taylor and Beth has always resonated with me and been harder to get through then most. I know she condensed numerous symptoms for storytelling however , there are quite a few that are familiar to my family. As she writes it gets easier but never ends.
I have read every in this series and they just keep getting better and better. Just retiring from the military myself and seeing first hand how PTSD affects many of our young men and women; I'm deeply awed by this book. Sniper was by far my favorite book and I love Taylor and Beth story. I can't lie, hell I love them all. Keep writing these awesome stories because trust me, I'm not the only one to keep reading. I salute you.
