Why Doesn't God Speak to Me?

Rate this book
Why Doesn't God Speak to Me? Eager hearts cry out, hoping for a single word to confirm that He hears us. Yet, many times the only sound is silence. Over the years people have given me several reasons why God speaks to some and not to others. One night, as I tossed and turned, I brought each of these reasons before the Lord, stating why each of them did not line up with who I thought He was. Words rose from my soul, pleading for Him to reveal why He has remained silent when a single word from Him would mean so much to so many. For the next few hours, God used things I learned about years ago and things I had just discovered to show why He talks to some in demonstrative ways and why He doesn’t speak at all to others. In His grace, He also showed me how people could hear more from Him. I have included these basic instructions on how to hear more from God and how to be led by Him in this book. Thank you for taking time to consider the answers I received and share with you now.

About the author

Lynn Hardy

Led by a series of dreams and encouraged by friends, Lynn Hardy began the journey to become an author. She stored her work in a computer file labeled “second job.” Writing began as a passion she could not contain and has become much more than she ever expected.

Lynn has attended many science fiction conventions and has had the privilege of serving on panels about writing. Renaissance fairs are another favorite event for the author. Seeing others dressed in costume (as she always is during book signings) makes her feel right at home.

The real shock came at a chance meeting in a videogame store in 2008. It took several meetings before she realized JR was a CEO and Hippocrit Games was offering her a contract: they were not just making small talk about what a great videogame her book would make. Hippocrit plans to launch their new company with the release of Prophecy of the Flame, the live action videogame, in Fall 2010.

In reality, Lynn is overcome with compassion for families who are suffering through the recession and so she has created Agape Assistance. Knowing that times are hard for everyone, Lynn wants to give back to those who join Agape Assistance in providing shelter for families who are homeless. Buying Book One will provide a book for you and a bed for them. 100% of the proceeds from Prophecy of the Flame: Book One go to Agape Assistance. (AgapeAssistance.org)

Lynn is now a stay-at-home mother of two. The road has been longer and more complicated than she would have ever guessed--not always smooth, but filled with wonderful surprises. Like most stories, Lynn is sure that her journey has only just begun.

This is the first of Lynn's Boot Camp series. I read one out of order and really liked it, so wanted to start with book one in the series. Since this is book one, it is somewhat elementary, but that is to be expected.
Good information here for people that are seeking a spiritual relationship with God and how He speaks.

There were parts of this book which lost my interest until I came across where the Holy Spirit is your conscious. I don't consider myself a spiritual person maybe because I was forced to go to church when I was a child. And as the typical a teenager, I really hated it. I always thought that God only spoke to special people, and He has never spoken to me. At least I thought he didn't until I picked up this book. I learned that God not only speaks to those through the word, or dreams, or vision. But, He also speaks through consciousness and our inner thoughts. I had the wrong closed minded views about the Holy Spirit. I thought It was not part of the human mind or body. It was a spiritual, reverent being or some form of a ghost or entity. But, I learned that the Holy Ghost is part of my inner spirits, and it helps me and guides me along in my daily life battles and life decisions Thanks to this book, I now believe I am on the path of listening more closely to my daily inner thoughts and realize they are the voice the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

In Hebrew there is no word for coincidence.

My friends refer to God incidents. I found this book on Weber Books at a time when I was struggling with what to do with my life after retirement. My many careers have been in jobs where I believe God placed me so I could use His gifts freely given. Some were very difficult assignments and resulted in disabilities. I've prayed for inspiration. This book is a start toward learning God's plan for me.

Sad and angry

The either seems to be sad and angry that God has not answered him in the way he demands rather than opening himself up to now He may choose to reveal Himself. This is setting oneself above God and demanding that He now to the author's demands. Sad, sad, sad.

Deep and eye opening.

I can't wait to get into the other books. God's purpose in our lives are different but we all have to start by listening to Him. This book helps anyone understand that. If you feel a calling in your life then you need to start here in a boot camp.

I truly appreciate the uploading of this great book. It provided a lot of biblical insight into a question I’ve been asking for years. I’m now armed with a few starting points and I am definitely keeping this book to re-read in the near future.

Good for thought

The explanation given to why God doesn't talk to every one the same made me think....reevaluate where I am in my walk. How much of me has died and how much more needs to die so that He may live in me. This is a wonderful read and great conversation piece.

Very insightful book. not sure if I believe all that was said in this book but it does raise questions as to why God chooses who to talk to and not talk to.
