This is the 6th book in the series.

The book can be read as a standalone but by reading the series you can learn about what happens to characters after the books are done.

For a small description about the book read above.

Our hero has to overcome his wife who had died in childbirth. He's never moved on from her and the child, but he has had lovers. In fact, one of his friends which got drunk one night and ended up as his wife. I loved how the author made this such a secret and yet neither hero nor heroine could move on from it. They just had to be near each other and neither could think of the other.

Our heroine shows up first because she found out about her sister being held hostage and wanted in on the mission, but then when she shows up in his room to do whatever she had to to get there. Our hero doesn't want her there and they had a date anyway in four weeks to divorce anyway.

However, when our heroine does end up going on the mission, she finds herself not wanting anything to happen to her husband nor her sisters. Yes, she realizes her other sister is at the base too wanting to go to America so the people who have been controlling her won't kill her.

Will they get the sisters out alive? Will the hero and heroine keep fighting each other or will they finally open up and tell each other what's going on with them so they can move on? Or will the bad guys find them?

The plot was pretty good and I didn't see some of the things that were to happen which is always a pleasant surprise. It did slow down but then sped up its pace. You get the bonus of one of the sisters and her romance with one of the other higher ups as well.

The hero and heroine each have things to make them feel like real people, although sometimes you want to yell for them to get on with it already. Overall, not a bad book with surprises waiting, but the story line lags happen which is a bit of a downer.

Monica Hyatt is an Air Force doctor. Her mother left her and her sister Sydney when they were children to become the 4th wife of a sheik in Rubistan. She also had another daughter, Yasmine, that she brought with her on her annual visit. Monice particularly resents Yasmine and her mom. Sydney works for an agency providing humanitarian aid and went to Rubistan. She's kidnapped with 2 others by Yasmine's distant terrorist cousin. Monica married in a Vegas chapel 3 months earlier to Air Force pilot Major Jack Korba, but immediately regretted it. When she discovers he's in charge of planning a major rescue operation for her sister, she insists on being part of it. Also included is Navy SEAL Blake Gardner - Sydney's ex-boyfriend - and Drew Cullen - the Army Colonel in charge of the operation. When the team arrives, they discover Yasmine, pretending to be kitchen help. She's supposed to be spying for the cousin but really is looking for U.S. asylum following her parent's death. She attached to Cullen and finally reconciles with other two after going through major trauma with Sydney's rescue (& rape pregnancy by the cousin). All 3 couples finally pull themselves together and have happy endings. Some sex scenes but good book, hard to put down.

With one week to complete a top-secret mission, Major Jack "Cobra" Korba did not need emotional distractions. But when flight surgeon Monica Hyatt, his estranged ex-lover, was added to his team, the sensitive assignment suddenly became all too personal.
With two sisters trapped behind enemy lines, Monica maneuvered herself onto Jack's flight crew, determined to rescue her loved ones while keeping her desire for Jack safely in check. Yet on the brink of the most dangerous task either had ever faced, their passions led to an explosive encounter.
With three words still left unsaid and time of the essence, would Jack, Monica and all those embroiled in the battle to save innocent lives find a way to complete their duty before all hell finally broke loose?

Written by Catherine Mann, a few of her books are on my list, this being the first reading of the bunch. As most of you may or may not know I cannot do straight romance, there has to be some kind of action, deception…something dangerous in the plot. Anything, Anywhere, Anytime had a plethora of subplots all with some sort of suspense written into them. Most of the book takes place either in a military complex or a warzone. The book is driven by the plot with the characters changing as we go. Overall I enjoyed the book, and I was left satisfied with the ending. Characters are believable, likeable and you are rooting for them to make it through the crisis.

The only negative in the book was how it was written, that is to say, a lot of the novel takes place within the characters heads. I use inner dialogue myself in my writing and I am a big proponent when used sporadically. It may not be accurate but it felt to me, as the reader a good 75% of the book was inner dialogue. Way too much! It was also utilized during conversations which is a big no-no in my book. If I am reading a conversation I do not want a paragraph or two between each sentence to explain why the character is feeling something, or the tingling of their toes in anticipation. One five-minute real time conversation ends up taking five pages. This may be a personal thing but for me it takes away all elements of wonder, and or surprise. It kills the anticipation of anything going to happen instead of heightening it for the reader. This is, for me, a clear case of telling me instead of showing me.

This may have been an isolated incident for the author, and I do intend to read my other selections by Catherine Mann. As I stated in the beginning, I do love the plot and the characters, just a little too much inside information for my taste.

should have been renamed tale of 3 sisters. So much of tragedy all round. Cant even begin to list it all out. Jack had a wife who died along with their unborn child. Monica's mother walked out of her marriage leaving her two daughters behind. She went on to have another daughter with the Arab. So basically this is the story of Monica, her younger sister Sydney and her half sister Yasmin.
Sydney is taken hostage and raped by Ammar - the villan who also happens to be Yasmin's uncle. Yasmin is sent into the U.S Military camp by her uncle to gather information. Yasmin falls for a guy who's almost 20 yrs her senior and has just become a grandfather. Sydney's pregnant with Amaar's baby.
The last bit I could have done without. Gave me a sleepless nightand that's why I gave this book one star less.

Great story! More, 3 stories in 1! But it was really good and very intense, sometimes. Two of the couple had a past and it was good seeing how they overcame their past and I really loved a new love story, even if the age difference was really something... I don't know if I would like this in reality :(

The story is simple, Jack Korba is ready for a mission to save hostages, but one of them is surgeon Monica Hyatt's sister so she's in. And there is the sister's ex-fiancèe ready to action. When they're there, another half-sister of Monica is showing up, a sweet but determined girl ready to get out of the country, not knowing about the rescue mission and mostly who's the victims.

Besides a very touching epilogue.

Onto the next one!

A multi-plot single title about Catherine Mann’s wingmen warriors. The heroine insists on accompanying the hero on a mission to rescue her sister who’s been taken prisoner by terrorists in a central Asian country. Hero doesn’t want her to go, not just because he’s protective, but they’re secretly married—on a semi-drunken whim—and he’s trying to get over her. During the story another sister—half—turns up, she gets involved in her own romance, while everyone’s trying to decide whether she can be trusted or not. Lots of action, lots of romance, lots of plot. I enjoyed it a lot.

Three love stories in one! Action packed... Loved watching Jack and Monica discover the depth of each other. Sydney's story was heartbreaking, but Cathy tied it into Crusty and Mary Elise's story from "Strategic Engagement" that touched my heart. I totally recommend reading ALL Catherine Mann's books.

My favorite of the series (so far). Excellent characters, great depth, compelling storyline, three wonderful romances wrapped up into one book. Perfection.
