I didn’t mind this for what it was. A professional soldier relating his part in the Six Day War to a journalist over the course of a night. Also because I’d travelled to these parts it brought a familiarity, near nostalgia, that other readers may not share. Some of the language and syntax also would have been a little hard to follow, but not in a condescending manner, if I’d never soldiered as well. It was just two blokes in the same orbit having a yarn.
For me, a little gem.
