Great plot. Lovable characters.

“Getting engaged was her own damned fault. Acting impulsively had landed her in trouble more often than she cared to recall.”
Grace Marshall stood beside her almost husband, reminding herself that life with Jack Walker. She liked him well enough. She’d done the proposing. Jack’s uncle would sign over the Rocking W. She could take care of Jack’s six-year-old daughter, the house, and still have time to paint.
She excused herself to go freshen her make-up, needing to escape the photographer. That’s when she overheard two women gossiping. Grace, knowing she shouldn’t eavesdrop, learns that her twin sister Lexi is in love with the groom.
A plan forms: Grace tricks Lexi into taking her place. Knowing Lexi will explain, Grace runs. Her plan is to give Lexi and Jack time to discover how they really feel about each other.
Grace leaves Little Tree for her cousin Rachel’s home in Colorado where she can hide until the scandal dies down. There Grace meets Rachel’s hunky handyman, Miguel Torres (Mike Thompson). And . . . Grace’s story begins.

Runaway Bride was a story that made me smile, and made me hope everything would turn out okay for even the secondary characters. Mike and Grace make a cute couple, complete with his rugged leave-me-alone attitude and her independent, womanly defiance of everything he says. Their build-up to being together was very well done, plus I love how the author weaves those grass-stained satin shoes throughout the story. And, the Epilogue ending took me by complete surprise! This was a nice follow-up book to The Wedding Rescue, all part of the "Love in Little Tree" series, by Megan Kelly. I seriously hope Rachel's story is next.
