I found the main story between Mariah and Darby was pretty boring up until the final scene where her past catches up to her. This scene was really well done and I wish the rest of the book had this level of excitement and action. Other than the ending scene, the story line of Mariah, the pickpocket and Darby, her mark, just didn't do anything for me. It was sweet but boring.

My fear when I started this series was that there would be too many incomplete threads that would carry from one book to the next and would continuously be reiterated. The following are threads that were left open from book one or from this book. They either felt repetitive, underdeveloped or unfinished (beware some spoiler type comments included):

• Flint's relationship issues with Maggie (potential romance) and Celeste (interfering ex-wife) are on-going from book# 1 and the back and forth continues.
• I think the disappearance of a farmer's wife is still open from book #1 (really sad I can't even remember).
• Crazy alien seeing father of the main characters' and the missile silo located on their land. There is a little drama about his health but no progress on what's going on at the missile site. Just an open thread that's barely touched on. The health drama seemed over really quickly.
• In this one, Flint the sheriff is looking into young girls stealing from local homes. Right from the get go they are identified and a trap is quickly and easily set. However, it felt unfinished as the "sentencing" is left open as to what happens to them now. And there is a bullying thread which should have been an important one but it was just brushed upon.

You never know when a thread is important or just filler. And the main thread can start to feel no more important than a lot of the other threads.

I like Ms. Daniels writing style but her series have a soap opera or serial feel to them versus a series with solid stand-alone stories in each book. I'll continue reading the series, but I would never re-read these books.

Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) provided by the Author and Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an fair and honest review.

One author I can always depend on to write a book I won't be disappointed in is B.J. Daniels. Set in a small Montana town, B.J. has written a intricate story of suspense and romance centered around the Cahill family. She skillfully blends several story lines and the problems the family has with their father is an arc over the series.

During a promotion for the Stagecoach Saloon at the Chokecherry Festival Darby Cahill comes face to face with his destiny, then she disappears after trying to lift his wallet. Mysterious and exhilarating, the woman left a piece of herself behind. A valuable Roma bracelet. When the mystery woman shows up at the bar the next day asking for a job, Darby doesn't know if this is good or bad. He hires her knowing she is only there to retrieve her bracelet and then, Poof! she'll be gone.

Mariah only wants her grandmother's bracelet back. At least that is the story her mind is going with. Her heart is another matter. She is attracted to Darby in a way she never has been to another man. She knows that she can't stay, if she is found it will not be good, but she just can't bring herself to leave. If her vengeful Roma husband finds them, he will probably kill them both. That is something she can't let happen.

Terrific second installment in the Cahill Ranch series, about six siblings in the tiny Montana town of Gilt Edge. The first book, Renegade's Pride, was the story of Lillian, the only girl. This book is mostly about her twin brother, Darby. Darby has been feeling restless, not sure that the bar he co-owns with his sister is enough for him anymore. Then, during the annual Chokecherry Festival, a beautiful young woman tries to steal his wallet and ends up leaving a valuable family heirloom behind as she flees. When she shows up at the bar looking for a job, he knows he should just give back the bracelet and send her on her way. But he is intrigued by her, so he hires her.

Mariah has been running for months, never staying long in one place before moving on. She's heartbroken at the loss of her grandmother's bracelet and is determined to get it back. She plans to hire on, figure out where the bracelet is and take it back, then get out of town. She knows that her ex won't give up looking for her. But there is something about Darby that has her lingering, not quite ready to move on.

I loved the interactions between Darby and Mariah. They both play it cool when she shows up at the bar, pretending that they don't know why she's really there. Darby is watchful, just waiting for Mariah to make her move, while she tries to wait him out. Their conversations, actions, and reactions have a fun cat and mouse lightness to them, but there is also attraction simmering under the surface. It doesn't take Darby long to realize that he has fallen hard for Mariah and that there is something bad that is driving her. I loved his protectiveness as he convinces her to stay and fight. Mariah is equally taken with Darby, which causes her to linger far longer than she intended. She knows that the best thing to do is leave before she puts Darby and everyone else in danger, but she lets him talk her into staying.

The suspense of waiting for her ex to show up had me on the edge of my seat. From the moment Mariah confessed all to Darby, I could feel the tension start to build. The scenes from Rafael's point of view were chilling, and I completely understood Mariah's fear. The confrontation was intense, with so many twists and turns I wondered how it was going to work out. Both Mariah and Darby were amazing, but it was an unlikely hero who came through at just the right moment. I liked the realism of what Mariah went through afterward, and that Darby was there to help her through it. His big moment at the end was sweet and romantic and perfect for them. I also loved Lillie's reaction and her suggestion for the wedding.

There was also more going on than just the romance between Darby and Mariah. The Cahill patriarch, Ely, still insists that he has had encounters with aliens, while Flint tries to convince him that it was military related. A health scare keeps him out of the mountains for a short time. Meanwhile, sheriff Flint has his hands full with a rash of burglaries. I loved seeing his detective work as he figures out who the culprits are. With it being such a small town, he knows everyone, and I really enjoyed watching him set and spring his trap. His love life is still in trouble also. In the previous book, his ex-wife's antics had succeeded in driving Flint's girlfriend away, thanks to Flint's reluctance to believe what was happening. He has finally seen the light, but without hard proof, there isn't anything he can do. I liked seeing his patience pay off as he and Maggie get back together. Unfortunately, Celeste is still up to her old tricks. I definitely agree with Maggie that Celeste's actions are not harmless and expect to see them escalate further. I liked Flint's discussion with Celeste's husband and wasn't surprised at how it turned out.

**Outlaw's Honor generously provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.**

4 "Wherever the road takes me." Stars

I've immensely enjoyed my time spent in Gilt Edge, Montana with Cahill family in this second installment Outlaw's Honor. An interesting group of siblings who find themselves in spots of trouble thanks to their love interests. B.J. Daniels style of story telling in this contemporary western family drama series is exciting and interesting. This hails as the second book of the series and stars Darby Cahill and love interest Mariah.

Darby and Mariah come from two completely different backgrounds. What I love about Daniels style also is her inclusion of interesting history within her stories. Mariah's background comes as one such bright spot and how she ends up in Gilt Edge faced by Darby is alluring and dangerous. Darby who's been restless with life up until this point finds major points of interest with Mariah. He's struck by the sight of her and begins a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Both of them up to the challenge leads to a companionship of sharing and trust. I enjoyed watching them play their story out in this small western town. Their story was much different than that of Lillie and Trask's in book one but the same as far as compassion and love. The steam factor in these is very light but perfect for the structure of the story. And just like book one, Renegade's Pride, constructed into the story are the tales of secondary characters as well. There's a lot players in Gilt Edge and we follow along with them as the centralized love story plays out. It's an immersive kind of reading I truly enjoy especially in a series.

For someone who hasn't delved to far into contemporary western romances the Cahill Ranch series has drawn me in fully. I'm invested in the story telling of B.J. Daniels and the secondary stories that popped up here in Outlaw's Honor. I want to know the story of every Cahill sibling and see how their lives play out so needless to say I'm looking forward to the rest of the series very much. A huge bonus addition to my romance reading repertoire. Reading more stories that are family drama driven in small towns is on my to-do list. Hoping the Cahill Ranch series will lead me to many other new-to-me series from this author and others.

A fast-paced, heart-pounding read! Seriously, you cannot go wrong with any of B.J.’s books!

He was looking at the most exciting woman he’d ever met.

In Outlaw’s Honor, B. J. Daniels takes readers back to Gilt Edge, Montana for the second intriguing installment in her Cahill Ranch western family drama series. Before I continue, I have to mention the panoramically breath-taking setting for these books. The wide-open vistas with the looming mountain peaks are infused with beauty and precariousness and B.J. transports you there as she paints the scenes.

Outlaw’s Honor can work as a standalone read if you insist. The romantic relationship and the development of the dominant danger plot is fully contained within this novel. However, your enjoyment will be exponentially increased if you read this series in order as there are many secondary plots that were set up in Renegade’s Pride and that will advance in each successive book.

This series follows the fascinating Cahill family. There’s Ely, the family’s reclusive patriarch, who spends much of his time in the mountains panning for gold and is famous for his claim of being abducted by aliens in 1967. Ely has five children. The oldest brother, Tucker, left home shortly after his high school graduation. The next brother, Flint, is the town’s sheriff. Two more brothers, Cyrus and Hawk, run the Cahill Ranch. Finally, twins Lillian and Darby own and run the Stagecoach Saloon, a pub/café which is housed in an historical old building restored from an original stagecoach stop. Lillian’s story was told in the first book. In the second book, we move on to Darby.

While reluctantly doing a promotion at Gilt Edge’s famous Chokecherry Festival, a beautiful female thief tries to lift Darby’s wallet, and, in the process, leaves behind a valuable Roma bracelet. When the mystery woman shows up the next day at the Stagecoach Saloon seeking a job, Darby discovers her name, Mariah, and he hires her. Whether this is a smart decision will be determined.

Darby and Mariah are both genuine, likable characters and their game of cat and mouse is engrossing to say the least. You should know that their romance is light – nothing steamy – but it is absolutely perfect for this tale. Besides the primary characters, catching up with Lillian and Trask from the first book is a treat AND Flint’s and Maggie’s story is obviously heading into rough waters. I’m very glad we don’t have to wait long to read their tale.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from Outlaw’s Honor:

He couldn’t jeopardize the saloon because of some silly infatuation with an outlaw. Even one as beautiful as Mariah Ayers.
---
She didn’t need anyone to tell her he was all wrong for her and yet…
---
He envied her, sensing that she lived each day as if it was her last.
---
The motorcycle’s headlights cut through the darkness. Ahead the road was nothing but a black hole. She roared toward it.

Outlaw’s Honor includes an exciting sneak preview of Dark Horse, the first book in a new series from BJ Daniels: Whitehorse, Montana: The McGraw Kidnapping. After reading the preview, I’m excited to read it! Dark Horse will release in August 2017. Here’s a short snippet from the preview.
“Remember what I told you about family secrets.” People will kill to keep them, she thought now as she looked at Marianne McGraw. The woman’s rocking didn’t change as Nikki stepped deeper into the room….

I know when I pick up a book by B.J. Daniels that I’m in for fast-paced, heart-pounding read. Outlaw’s Honor didn’t disappoint. B.J. is ultra-skilled at seamlessly pulling off a web of plots and I’m seriously addicted to her books. I actually enjoyed Outlaw’s Honor more than the first book since it wasn’t burdened with introducing the many Cahills and setting up the multiple plot lines. Outlaw’s Honor is a solid mystery/romance with plenty of angst, danger and action to keep readers turning the pages. Seriously, you cannot go wrong with any of B.J.’s books.

Cowboy’s Legacy, the next book in this series, is expected to be released in Nov 2017! It will feature the story of Sheriff Flint Cahill and Maggie. His crazy ex-wife has been causing trouble since the first book. Maggie has now gone missing with a winter storm bearing down. Can Flint find Maggie before it’s too late? I can’t wait to see how Flint’s and Maggie’s story evolves.

FINAL DECISION:  The series improves as the characters fall into their places. I enjoyed this book as part of the series and I especially loved Darby who is sweet and honorable.  The story slowly unwinds the motives of the characters and I enjoyed the journey.

THE STORY:  Darby Cahill has a quiet life running the bar he and his twin sister own in a small town in Montana. While attending a fair, he sees a woman who shakes his foundations.  Ironically, that same woman tries to pickpocket him later. He is even more shocked when that woman, Mariah Ayres arrives at his bar asking for a job. He hires her while the two dance around what actually happened and what Mariah's motives are.  Darby becomes more concerned when he discovers that Darby is running and is in danger.

OPINION:  This is a slowly developing romance that is combined with a suspense story.  The story unfolds as the characters motives become known.  The way that Daniels structures this series there is development on various storylines (upcoming romances and overarching mysteries).  A lot happens in this book on various levels.

I enjoyed the mystery in this one and the continuing storyline of the series.  My favorite part of this story is Darby who is simply adorable as a hero.  He is a good man who falls for Mariah instantly -- love at first sight -- and despite all the circumstances, Darby cannot help but do everything he can for Mariah.

Mariah's story is complex and only revealed later in the book.  I won't disclose her story here because part of the development of the story is the questioning of her motives. The romance here is sweet and most of the drama of the series is from the mystery and the external danger.

This book advances the overarching story in the series and I can't wait to find out more.

WORTH MENTIONING:  The story about Darby's brother is the one I have been waiting for. More happens here for those who have been following the story.

CONNECTED BOOKS:  OUTLAW'S HONOR is the second book in the Cahill Ranch series. While the story here is independent as to the romance, there is an overarching storyline mystery that continues from the first book.  It's better to read this series as a whole because there are unanswered questions after this book as well.

STAR RATING:  I give this book 4 stars.

NOTE:  I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley in order to provide a review.  I was not required to write a positive review.  All opinions contained herein are my own. This review was originally posted on Top10RomanceBooks.com

Once again, B.J. has written a spellbinding story of romance and intrigue in a small Montana town. She is the master of both! I love following the multiple story lines she has going at once, which means we get to know several secondary characters and what is happening with them at the same time as the main story. You feel like you are all over town in different places with these different characters, like puzzles pieces in a big puzzle! It's fascinating!

In this story Darby Cahill meets Mariah Ayers at a festival and the feeling is totally electric and unsettling to him, plus she picks his pocket! She disappears and he's obsessed with finding her. Imagine his surprise when she walks into his bar and asks for a job! He shouldn't hire her but he does. Mariah doesn't tell him her background but eventually Darby figures that she is in big trouble - and she is! There is a lot going on in this book so be ready to NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!!!! Darby's siblings get involved along with his father and the sheriff's department! There is a lot of action but then, as I said, there are a lot of characters to deal with!

The ending was fantastic so do yourself a favor and open up this book to begin a wonderful adventure! I highly recommend it!

Darby Cahill and Mariah Ayres should not be a match but turns out they are. Mariah is on the run. That is the danger in Outlaw's Honor. Darby decides to help her face that danger. None of that happens overnight. Theirs is a romance that has more than the usual number of problems. Daniels has a theme where she features other couples whose romance spans several books in a series. This time it is Flint and Maggie and there is plenty of danger and tension that needs to be resolved before they have their HEA. A nice addition to the Cahill Ranch series. There are still other Cahill brothers who need to find romance so I have additional books to look forward to.

I'm generally quite a fan of B.J. Daniels' novels, but after several unsuccessful attempts to read this novel because I just could not get into it, I finally finished reading it last night, and although I kept hoping I'd end up liking it, I'm sorry to say that it simply wasn't the book for me, and I can only give it a 2-star rating.

First, I expected a true western cowboy romance and this wasn't it. The cover photo was misleading. The hero in this novel runs a bar and isn't a cowboy, although the hero and heroine are physically in Montana, she's a gypsy, a thief and a pickpocket, and she's on the run. Nothing about the way she's depicted said "heroine" to me, nor did I find her the least bit admirable.

While there is a family ranch, it doesn't play much of a role in this story, and the subplots and secondary characters, who I'm guessing will appear in later novels in this series, weren't enough to make me enjoy this one. I think that any novel, regardless of author, is hit or miss, and in Ms. Daniels' case, she usually grabs me from the get-go and writes novels that I can't put down. Sadly, if memory serves me correctly, for me, this one was a rare miss.

If you've not read any of B.J. Daniels previous novels, I'd recommend starting with one of her earlier stellar series, such as The Montana Hamiltons or the Cardwell Ranch series, both of which are excellent reads.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

If you visit my blog regularly you’ll have noticed that I love a good Cowboy story. So if there’s a Cowboy on the cover of a book it grabs my attention. So when I saw ‘Outlaw’s Honor’ I was immediately interested. It took me a while to get to this book though.. but since I’m cleaning out my Netgalley list, I was finally able to start reading.

The two main characters in this book where Darby and Mariah. And these characters definitely were fascinating and I found myself wanting to keep reading to find out everything I could about them. Although I didn’t really ‘feel’ there romance as much as I would have liked, their story grabbed my interest and I just wanted to know what would happen next. I was honestly a little surprised to find that the main character wasn’t a Cowboy at all, but it didn’t bother me that much.

This book wasn’t really for me. I didn’t really get the whole romance story between Darby and Mariah, but the suspense surrounding them was interesting enough to make me want to finish the book. In the beginning, right after Darby and Mariah see each other for the first time I really thought this book would be a very fun romance. But I just didn’t feel the chemistry between these characters and I felt disappointed. Something just felt off for me.

The writing in ‘Outlaw’s Honor’ was very descriptive and a little hard to read for me. It just didn’t read easy and I had to work to keep my mind with the book. There were also several different stories going on in this book and I felt like these stories where ‘to’ much for one book. Especially since I still feel like there are a lot of loose ends after reading this book.

Overall, this was not the book for me.

I was given this book for an honest review.

I like Gilt Edge, Montana – the location of the Cahill Ranch Series. I like the Cahills as well. In this second installment of the series, we get more of a story of Darby Cahill, twin to Lillie (featured in Renegade’s Pride). While Lillie is busy planning her wedding, running of the Stagecoach Saloon is in Darby’s capable hands. During a promo for the bar, he meets Mariah Ayers when she picks his pocket and then disappears. He is obsessed with finding her. When she shows up looking for a job, he’s obsessed with saving her – the question is: from what.

BJ Daniels creates believable characters, people you want to know. She creates wonderful places for her stories to take place in like the Stagecoach Saloon and the whole town of Gilt Edge. The Cahills are interwoven into the story – all of the brothers as well as their father. There are other minor stories going on at the same time as Darby and Mariah’s story. The arcs cross the books and will continue through subsequent stories. You get to where you feel like you are one of the citizens of Gilt Edge and that you are invested in everyone’s story.

I would recommend this book for a good solid mystery/romance. You will not put it down until you have finished it and then you will probably be like me – wishing the next book was already in my hands.

I am loving the Cahill family as much as any of the other families BJ has written about. Outlaw's Honor is full of suspense wondering what is going on with Mariah & why she is so scared. I had a hard time putting this book down it was so exciting. If you love Cowboys, intrigue & romance, you will love this book! It is definitely one of her best!

I'm really sorry to say that I was not that thrilled with this particular book. I have read many of B.J. Daniels books and loved them, but this one just rubbed me wrong. I don't like to put negative comments out there because I know authors put a lot of passion into their writing and I don't want to discredit their efforts. However, the main thing that bugs me about this book and others like it that I've read is how it can be considered "cowboy" romance. The main characters are a bar or "saloon" owner and a gypsy. True, there are two brothers that live on and run the family ranch, but the book is about the brother that owns the bar. The book cover shows a handsome man dressed like a cowboy and holding a cowboy hat presumably at a ranch. The character is even called a "cowboy" several times throughout the book. It just makes me wonder what it takes to be considered a "cowboy". I always thought dressing like one, living and working on a ranch, and most of all raising cattle and/or horses makes a cowboy. Even rodeo participants can be a "cowboy". I just felt disappointed finding out the "cowboy" was a bar owner. Also, I felt like there were too many other problems going on that didn't need to be included and they were all solved quickly; such as, the dad and his heart attack, the young girls robbing people, the sheriffs ex-wife causing trouble with his current relationship. They all sounded like major subjects that got solved quickly and didn't really apply to the main subject of the book. Anyway, I'll keep reading Ms. Daniels books because I like most of them, I just wasn't thrilled with this one. Sorry for the negative feed. I feel bad having said it all, but I couldn't lie about the things that bothered me about the book.

Outlaw's Honor was a quick read that had me turning the pages far into the night.  The book was fast paced with a great deal of action and adventure taking place in rural Montana with lots of law enforcement, ranchers,  rugged cowboys and strong women who seem to meet their match. I was drawn into the story immediately and loved the vivid descriptions of the lands and the town along with the many storylines going on that were interwoven seamlessly.  Mariah is a Romani and has a lot of secrets whereas Darby is more the what you see is what you get type of person.  They have instant chemistry but different agendas when they do meet again after their paths unexpectedly crossed at the fair or do they?  Watching them take one step forward and two or three back was often heartbreaking as was his brother Flint's relationship with Maggie due to his crazy ex-wife's involvement.  The Cahills were always there for each other, even their offbeat dad at times, but Darby and his twin, Lillie, could almost read each other's minds.

There was a lot of violence, break-ins and several mysteries to solve along with danger, fear, anger, hurt, injuries, sadness, disbelief, mistrust, tears, laughter, happiness, loving and love.  The characters were well-developed and there was a nice flow to the story. Harper, the sheriff's deputy, was a hard person to like and I wasn't thrilled with the way he led the young waitress, Vicki, on even though she seemed to know what she was doing and welcomed his attention.  There were several happily-ever-afters in the offing but several that didn't come to fruition.  There was nice closure with enough loose ends to lead us into the next book about the Cahill Ranch, Cowboy's Legacy , and I for one can't wait!

B. J. Daniels is a new to me author only having read Atonement in her Beartooth, Montana series.  Guess I have a lot of reading to do and more books to add to my always growing TBR pile!

She never expected this Cahill to be her hero—or the only man she'd need
It's hard to forget a beautiful woman who picks your pocket the first time you meet. Darby Cahill recognizes Mariah Ayres the moment she walks into his bar looking for a job. He shouldn't hire her…or crave more after one impulsive kiss. But what starts as curiosity about her motives turns to concern when he senses how much danger she's in.

Mariah has been running ever since she left her fiancé at the altar. Now she's playing the part of the perfect employee, terrified that her past will catch up with her. But Darby has already seen through her act. He's the kind of guy who saves people. And even if Mariah's given him no reason to trust her, he's determined to protect her—and he'll risk his life to do it…

The series continues to evolve and improve in character development and scene descriptions. Outlaw Honor has an intriguing premise in Darby's defense of a possible crooked Mariah. There is a small slow moment in the beginning but it soon leaves of at a fast pace and doesn't slow again. You will never want to leave the Cahill Ranch or the Cahill family.

My rating of "Mercy" is 4.75 out of 5 stars.

Disclaimer: I was given an ARC by the author’s publisher, Harlequin, in exchange for an honest review.

How can we expect a relationship to build and last? She was a thief and pickpocket, looking for a mark before skipping town. He accidentally snagged her bracelet as she went for his wallet. She’s on the run from a husband she left on her wedding day. He hires her to work in the family bar.

Not exactly great attributes to lay a strong foundation in a relationship. Yet, through careful weaving of B.J. Daniels’ threads, Mariah Ayres and Darby Cahill do indeed lay that foundation. And over then next three hundred-odd pages, it grows.

Several sets of secondary characters add depth to Mariah and Darby’s story. It seems impossible that one could not care what happens to them as the threats move in.

There are plenty of strong emotions carried through the story. The characters are well fleshed out. The scenes are believable.

Lastly, the conclusion gave a whole new meaning to “It was a dark and stormy night”. It truly was a dark and stormy night when Mariah’s past came to be her very real and scary present, and threatened not only her future, but Darby’s and others as well. Meantime, other character’s lives that ran alongside Mariah and Darby now that their own futures jeopardized.

And with a flick of her mighty pen, B.J. Daniels ties up all the loose threads of her tapestry, leaving a satisfying end result.

Note, this is subtitled A Cahill Ranch Novel, which also includes ‘Renegade’s Pride’ as part of each stand-alone in the series.

Outlaw's Honor is the 2nd book in the Cahill Ranch series.
This series follows the Cahill family.
This is Darby's story.
He leads a quiet life owning and running the bar and cafe that he bought with his sister Lillie (book 1).
It's not until he sees her from across the crowd that his life is completely turned upside down.
Ironically, the next time he sees her, she picks his pocket.
As he reaches for her, her bracelet falls into his hands. And it's that bracelet that brings her to the Stagecoach Saloon to get it back. But instead of asking for it back, she asks for a job.

So the majority of the story, they dance around each other getting to know each other. He finds out that she is running from an arranged marriage. And the man is still out to get her. Darby convinces her to stay and they fight him together.

It's a gripping story. Kept me intrigued right from the beginning. I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters. As they develop their relationship, you see that it's love at first sight for both of them. She gives herself to him because she wants to know what love feels like, not the evil that her intended is. There is one sex scene and it's mild with very little description. Lots of it is left to our imagination.

But the story is also about Darby's brother Flint (the local sheriff). His ex-wife is out to get Maggie the woman that he's dating. But Maggie has to convince Flint that she really is psycho. That leads us to book 3 that will come out in November 2017.

This is the story of Darby Cahill and Mariah Ayers. This is a fantastic story everyone so be prepared. Darby is roped into representing the saloon he and his twin sister owns at a town festival. She's trying to play matchmaker and he just wants to get the day over as quick as possible. That of course isn't going to happen if your familiar with B.J. writing. Things are never that simple. Their unusual meeting sets up a story for a wild and crazy ride. You have a psychotic husband or ex husband after her depending on who is telling the story. This is what I love most about her books. You have numerous characters and storylines going on at once each just as riveting as the next. The main focus though is on Darby and Mariah. Some storylines that started in the book will continue on but become a bit clearer or stranger. Then just when it ends you get a tease of what the next book will be about. Simply put this one book/ series you don't want to miss. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."

As Darby Cahill is tossing out t-shirts to the crowd at the festival, his eyes lock on a beautiful woman. He found her later when she tried to pick his pocket and lost her bracelet when he grabbed her arm. Mariah Ayres came into the Stagecoach Saloon and asked for a job. He thought she came for her bracelet but he’ll play along. As a waitress, she is quick and efficient. He thinks she is running from something or somebody and she tells him about her past. She tells him to forget about her because she could get him killed. Too late because Darby has already fallen.

Darby tells his brother Flint, the sheriff, about the man chasing Mariah and they hatch a plan to hopefully catch him. A ferocious storm messes up their plans but Mariah and Darby take care of her supposedly husband.

Darby has only known Mariah a few weeks when he decides he's in love with her. He only knows what she tells him about her past and it almost got him killed. He has never been interested in a woman before so this was totally new to him but he's sure she's the woman for him.

Well this author has gone and done it again. She has pulled me into another fabulous suspense romance that at times had me pulling my hair too. Their meeting was a hum dinger but then it turns around for Darby and Mariah. What he learns is curious indeed but then drama soon finds its way once again to try mayhem and mischief. Being the twin who also has a heart I was attached to him wanting to see what was coming his way. Also more happenings with the pops, actually this family has my attention. The sheriff will have his hands full but there also seems to be a spark left for him too. Mariah is one interesting character that has alot of color. Once again superb suspense with me loving the puzzle of the 5 w's and trying to piece them together before the answers are given. Being swept away on this one riding it hard all the way through that when this one wraps up I do so like the way the author thinks for this one's finish.

Another great B J Daniel's book that was action packed from the beginning! Darby spots this beautiful woman through the crowd at the fair in town...He feels like he is struck by lightening.. later on that day she bumps into him and turns out she is a pick pocket trying to get his wallet. He tries to get her to stop to talk to him and he takes her bracelet off accidently..A few days later she comes to the bar he and Lillie own and asks for a job.her name is Mariah..He knows she just wants to work there to get her bracelet back..Mariah is running from her past. She ends up falling for Darby while working at the bar.. They are close and he vows to watch over and protect her from her past..This was a wonderful book with many different story lines all going on but verging into one..I love the book and can't give it enough praise!!!

I won a copy of this book from the author and I was not required to give a favorable review. This is another of this wonderful series about the Cahill family in Gilt Edge, Montana. This is a great book about finding love in a way that would surprise the less willing of men. Darby was doing his duty as the co-ower of the bar with his twin and was throwing t-shirt into the audience when he saw her. He was like his brother, staying single just didn't find the right girl. He tried following her and caught up with her but in the process got her family heirloom and his wallet back. Mariah was running and finally stopped but what it brought was a job, a man, a past and a whole lot of other things. But I love how intertwined into the story is stories about other characters in the town. Thank you BJ for another great book.

Outlaw's Honor is the second book in Cahill Ranch series by B.J. Daniels. Darby Cahill owns a bar with his twin sister, Lillie, outside of town. Darby Cahill meets Mariah Ayres at a town fair to bring people to the community. Mariah picks Darby's pick. when Darby sees her she drops the wallet and her bracelet comes off. But Mariah takes off and Darby picks them both up. Mariah wants the bracelet back because of its good luck charm. Mariah is on the run from a man she is suppose to marry from an arranged marriage by their parents when they were kids. Mariah wants to have nothing to do with the man. The man is looking for her. Darby hires Mariah to work at the bar. Romance, intrigue. A good read.

I thought the storyline sounded great but I found the main story between Mariah and Darby was pretty slow-moving, up until the final scene where her past caught up to her. This scene was really well done and I wish the rest of the book had this level of excitement and action. Other than the ending scene, the storyline of Mariah, the pickpocket and Darby, her mark, just didn't do anything for me. It was sweet but seemed to drag and although there were other storylines woven into the book that created an interest in the other brother's stories, I doubt I will be reading them.

It was only because I like Ms. Daniels books that I kept reading. I did enjoy this book by the end. I just like more suspense in my romantic suspense novels.

This is the second book in the Cahill Ranch series. Darby Cahill finally learned that you can fall in love at first glance when he saw Mariah Ayres at the local festival while he was tossing t-shirts for his saloon. The next time he saw her, she was picking his pocket of his billfold but he grabbed her wrist and she dropped the billfold and her gold cuff bracelet. He lost her again until she showed up at his saloon looking for a job. This was the start of an interesting relationship since he knew what she had done and he wondered why she had come to him for a job. Was it just to get her bracelet back or to finally find a home. This is a great read.

This is book 2 in the Cahill Ranch series and it features bar owner, Darby Cahill and Roma gypsy, Mariah Ayers. Sometimes it is fate. Two people are actually MEANT to be together. Mariah and Darby are two such people. Through all the suspicions, learning how to trust and how to love and through all the danger, these two know exactly what they want when the dust settles.

This is a fantastic story with great characters and enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat to the end. There is much more to this story and involves many more characters, which I imagine we'll read about when they get their own books. I can't wait to read about the rest of the Cahill siblings.

I love all of BJ Daniel's books and this was no different. Her story centers on Mariah and Darby. They first meet when he sees her pickpocket his wallet and then in the slight struggle her bracelet falls off and he retries it. She then shows up and asks for a job at his saloon and he hires her. Mariah has a sad story in her life and it slowly comes out and Darby is determined to help her. They fall in love and her very dangerous past comes to town and they both nearly die. It really is a good book but I don't want to really go into it. There are several other story lines going on at the same time making this a really good book. Enjoy!!!

I loved Dary and Mariah's story!! Mariah is running from her recent past..... it's a biggy! She comes to this small town.. and at this festival she tries to pick pocket her mark.... as she calls them. She tires to pick pocket Dary.... for him it was love at first sight. So many things go on in this book.. but it was great! Dary is a bar owner... his brother is a cop... Mariah is a Romni that is hiding a big secrect.. there is a great fight scene that involves guns and a knife... but there is a HEA so It was great at the end.
