Author of Urban Chick Lit, Erotica, and Contemporary Urban Fiction... Jessica N. Watkins was born April 1st in Chicago, Illinois. She obtained a Bachelors of Arts with Focus in Psychology from DePaul University and Masters of Applied Professional Studies with focus in Business Administration from the like institution. Working in Hospital Administration for the majority of her career, Watkins has also been an author of fiction literature since the young age of nine. Eventually she used writing as an outlet during her freshmen year of high school as a single parent: “In the third grade I entered a short story contest with a fiction tale of an apple tree that refused to grow despite the efforts of the darling main character. My writing evolved from apple trees to my seventh and eighth grade classmates paying me to read novels I had written about kids our age living the lives our parents wouldn’t dare let us”. At the age of twenty-eight, Watkins’ chronicles have matured into steamy, humorous, and realistic tales of women's literature. She hopes that The Epitome of Femistry series will successfully emulate ideal femininity while tackling stereotypes, familiar heartache, and relatable distress in a humorous, sophisticated, and erotic fashion.

Another great story line but poor editing

Only removed one star this time because this is the 5th book of her I have read that it is extremely apparent that she doesn't have someone proof read AT all it seemed in this book... snow was not so bad this one was terrible with confusing places where the characters are supposed to be to saying the baby was a girl when it ends up being a boy referring to the wrong sex for characters etc...but in her defense I believe this is one of her earlier

It was okay. It wasn’t anything like the first book. I hated Capone’s new attitude. They spent the entire book hating each other, then the last 3 pages they’re back together; madly in love. Seemed rushed.

O.M.G.... This was so lame and so bad....

Rarely do I read a story that get me in a funk an be so mad and disappointed, but this one took the crown. The only reason I even rated this was how one could feel how heartbroken Capone was, and very stubborn, but besides that this was truly the worst I have read from this author.
Capri, my god, day by day you have definitely put a reader in the not liking you zone. Could this woman be so naive, so desperate, so gullible, so wow, down right stupid? Then, although I understand her not wanting for Capone to know about Terrell, but come on, we're you so desperate that you had to have a man? And who, Quan??? Yeah, you not too bright up there man...
And, I must say that this is the first time reading a book where the author is having pregnancy not being sacred, and the woman lead character be a needy, un intelligent, dependent, and down right desperate black woman.... This was a disgrace.
Unfortunately, Capone was no better with his childish ways and spoiled brat attitude.
All of them besides Amyah and Eboni, they shouldn't be calling themselves friends and if Capri was armed with any backbone, she should have stood her ground and made them apologized to her, specially Jasmine. I even think that the guys were over it already except for Capone. And few things, what if Quan did not meet his fate, what would have happened? Would Capri ever found out who he was (even if she did during his funeral)? And how easy was this tho turn around forgive and forget within a month, that you not only moved in and getting married? And does Capone ver found out the full story of how did Capri got with Maine, the kids, and her actual kids and what she has done for Maine? Lastly, why would you write about a weak, un intelligent, depend not black woman and not make you main characters as the strong independent intelligent black Nubian queen that each are? Why couldn't this be some empowerment saga where it shows that we can make it on our own and all and do not become a Capri or whatever? And whatever happen d to Racel l and Alicia?
Truly, so disappointed, so messed up, so annoyed that I wasted my time reading this......truly not worth it even though I skipped so much because for such a lame book, it actually didn't need it to be read at all.

I'm so glad that I rated this book years AFTER I read it and understood it from several sides.
As I stated in my review for CAPONE& CAPRI Book 1I don't support referencing the word LOVE when people are just ATTRACTED to each other and DON'T REALLY KNOW ONE ANOTHER FIRST. I felt that this was CAPONE & CAPRI. They screwed each other in a South Florida club WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF KNOWING EACH OTHER BEFORE & POOF... CAPONE IS IN LOVE? NAH.. I DON'T BELIEVE SHIT WORKS LIKE THAT.
At most, what CAPONE felt was ATTRACTION---NOT LOVE for CAPRI, who as it turns out, had A MAN AT THE CRIB, DESPITE F--KING A STRANGER IN A CLUB SHE WAS ATTRACTED TO.
This isn't to say that I didn't like the story or the characters. Let's just say that I liked the IDEA OF CAPONE & CAPRI from Book 1, BUT NOT AFTER WHAT HE HAD DONE TO HER, & STILL REFER TO IT AS 'LOVE', BECAUSE I FEEL WHAT THEY FELT , OR AT LEAST WHAT CAPONE FELT FOR CAPRI WAS NOT LOVE. ONE SIMPLY CANNOT DO WHAT THEY HAD DONE TO A WOMAN'S HA=EART THEN CALL IT 'LOVE' IN THE AFTERMATH.
I didn't like that CAPONE felt that CAPRI should JUST FORGIVE HIM & TAKE HIM BACK THEN EVERYTHING WOULD BE OKAY. LIFE JUST SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT!
EVEN With a baby involved, I STILL FELT THAT CAPRI SHOULD HAVE MADE CAPONE WORK HARDER TO WIN HER BACK BEFORE SHE HAD TAKEN HIM BACK.
BUT, I GUESS I'M TOO MUCH OF A REALIST FOR THIS BAD BOY ROMANCE STORY.

Very enjoyable.

I enjoyed this book immensely. I was aggravated with Capone because he hell on to his anger too long. During this period, he did crazy and hateful things. I wanted Capri to find out about Quan before he was killed. When he came on the scene I thought he was too good to be true. He proved to be a no good user who ended up killing Capri's mother.! Amlyah was not a very good friend to Capri. Maine and Shug got what was coming to them. The family (Capone's)
stuck together throughout everything. I loved the ending, Capri and Capone reunited, the baby ended up safe and healthy, a wedding proposal made, Capri's aunt was with them, and Ebony proved to be a good friend to Capri. The author did a good job with these books.

I'm not even sure how to rate this....maybe 3.5

The entire book was them NOT being together or even trying to make up. Capone just got away with sleeping with all those women & the main 2, left and right while poor Capri was walking around trying to figure her life out. And then bringing her dude in at the end was pointless, especially because no one knew what he was doing or his true intentions. I'd rather not spoil that part. I don't know. I liked the story but part 2 was a let down for me. I thought atleast at the halfway mark is when Capone would be groveling and then the remainder of the book showed the way back to happily ever after. Anyway, if you choose to move forward, happy reading! 📚

My issue with this book is that Nicholas and Nikki were her siblings not her actual kids. So with that being said her being there for Maine in his time of need should have been limited. Like yes he’s going through somethings but you have other responsibilities that are more important than he’s problems. For her to claim being independent she was not. She held no loyalty towards Capone. Capone was annoying too especially since he knew that baby was his. Jasmine was annoying and shady. Eboni was the only real friend capri had. I don’t know this whole story was just too much and not in a good way.

Yeah It's Good!

This was a stunning conclusion to a really good series,I love that Capri stuck to her guns and not gone back to Capone so easily.I think one of the things that make this story really good is that the fact that we are getting the story of two people and their relationship. This is such a really good look at two strong willed people, and trying to overcome their demons and to find d there way back to one another. This was a very good solid read and so worthy to be one of the book club choices.

This couple reminds me of my first love. *sigh* So nostalgic. Felt like the story could have been drawn out more. Was expecting a cliffhanger ending. Still enjoyed though. Is this the end of Capone and Capri's story? Will there be another spin off from SSB (Secrets of a Side Bitch) to tell Eboni's story? Capone and Capri 's wedding? Does Omari and Jasmine have babies? Short story on what happened to Quan the night he got shot? Short story on what happened when Capone caught up with and shot Chance?

I really enjoyed it

I'm a sucker for happy endings and giving chances. I felt so bad for Capri because she's been through so much. I understood why she didn't want to take Capone back at first, that man was hurt about his Maine killing his friend and wounding Fred. So I completely understood. I had a gut feeling Quan was upon to no good. That was some disrespectful stuff he did to Capri. I'm just glad it all worked out in the end.

Capone and Capri 2

I liked the story line and how real her books are. You can really relate. Even if these aren’t the type of men I would rock with, I get it! No judgment. It shows that even the toughest mean have feelings and want love and to be loved.

The only critique I have is that someone should proof read the book better for grammatical errors and making sure the right name is being used to avoid confusion. I still give it 5 stars.

Loves the first book, but this felt rushed Spoilers

I loved the overall story in the first book and loved where it was going on the second up until the epilogue. Felt rushed and cheap. Characters had ulterior motives that felt forced and unrealistic. I was extremely disappointed that Capri took Capone back so quickly when he truly was horrible to her and I hated how Quan magically became a POS. Definitely not my favorite.

The heart want what it wants

This book had me in my feelings and reflecting back over my own life's journey. I was pregnant at 16, disowned by my father, and me and the baby's father were broke up. But love has a way of finding itself. 23 yrs later with 4 children we are living happily ever after. Capone realized that the heart wants what it wants and it just can't help it . I enjoyed this book🩷

Ayyyyye!

Ok Jessica I see you girl! I felt every emotion right along with the characters, and that's what I look for in a good book. I don't do spoilers so u have to experience those feelings on your own. Capri and Capone was a book well written. Good Job Jessica N. Watkins! While I'm at it can I get the part two to No Fairy Tales??? 😀😉😬🙏 Please!!!!

Eh

Book 2 started off good but it was too much back and forth between Capone and Carpi. I literally skipped most parts of the chapters and still got the gist of them. The ending was really rushed. I wish she would've cut out the unnecessary parts and told more about how and why Capri and Capone got back together.

Good Story

This was very good book and the storyline flowed well with a lot of twists and turns that captures the reader’s attention. I would like to know what happen to Amiyah, Capri’s best friend. I did not understand why Amiyah was not at the hospital with her friend during and after the birth of the baby.

Excellent read!

This series was so good! I felt Capri's pain- she could not catch a break! As far as Capone- I would not have taken him back at all and I do not like Jasmine! Good read tho!

Good book

Capri had a lot of terrible things happen to her, I loved that she built her strength but I wish she would’ve kept it and never allowed them back into her life. They treated her terribly and deserved to be on the outskirts.

OUTSTANDING ENDING!

Capone and Capri are my star couple. He acted a complete fool for not listening to Capri in the first place before judging her. Capri has a great patience. Her last boyfriend, I was ready to beat him down myself. Thank goodness she forgave Capone.
