Rethinking Planning and Development The Indian Context: Tribute to Tarlok Singh

Rate this book
The book is a tribute to Shri Tarlok Singh, the founder Chairman of the Indian Association of Social Science Institutions (IASSI) who worked closely with India's first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru in promoting planned development of the Indian Economy. Upon his retirement from the Planning Commission, Tarlok Singh chose to devote all his time in the promotion of social sciences research and writing. A well-known name in social science circles and in bureaucracy, he died on December 10, 2005 at the ripe age of 92. In his memory IASSI every year organizes a lecture by an eminent social scientist. So far six lectures have been delivered.
