Former overachiever Lucy WillIams sucks at adulting.

Recent divorce, check.

Pending lawsuit, check.

A move back to Boston to live with her mother, triple check.

It can't get much worse, right?

When she starts her new marketing job at EXtreme Effects, she's positive shit’s stopped hitting the fan. Sure, what she's advertising is a little ... unorthodox, but it pays the bills. And since she's seconds away from becoming Lucy Williams: Wednesday Night Bingo Enthusiast, she needs money to get the hell out of her mother’s house.

The only problem is her boss, Mr. Extreme himself: Jace Exley. He’s everything any sane woman dreams of—alpha, successful, ridiculously gorgeous. He's also Lucy’s worst nightmare. Because like every overachiever, she has that underachiever she brushed off. The slacker who, once upon a time ago, was the object of her dirtiest schoolgirl fantasies.

Jace Exley—with his sarcastic smirk and delicious accent—just happens to be that guy.

And the friction between them?

Well, that's the only adulting Lucy seems to be winning at

There is a certain excitement that comes with the unknown…the unexpected. Trying something new is a risk but reward, a challenge and adventure. The giddy delight I get when I meet a new or new-to-me author’s words is BOOKWORM BLISS! That rush during that initial read is off-the-charts incredible! I met my first book by Emily Snow after being a Snow stalker for a while, and it was incredible indeed! Friction is a heart-stopping sexy friends-to-boss-to lovers romance that bleeds angst and amusement, leaving you melting for more!

I fell in INSTANT LOVE with Friction that gripped me hard, holding me in its clutches, holding me captive, holding me…OWNING ME. The witty and wondrous writing—full of delicious inner thoughts, playful banter, and heat that burned up this book—was pure intoxication. I could not put this fierce and flaming tale down. Alluring. Amusing. All-consuming. I WAS ALL IN!

Beautiful dark-haired and hazel-eyed Lucy Williams has had a storm of bad luck, a cheating husband and then failed marriage, job losses, and the return to living with her mother. Her personal life is heading towards cat lady central. Lucy needs a good dose of lady luck.

Luck finally lands in the smart and sassy Lucy’s lap when she lands a new job at a company selling unique products. The owner and her boss happens to be her high school fantasy, Jace Exley. Sex-on-a-stick Jace is dark-haired, blue-eyed, inked, and muscular…an Adonis.

“As of a few minutes ago, Jace Exley – former underachiever and object of my school girl fantasies – is my boss. And boss-related filthiness is at the top rung of unprofessionalism.”

One look from Jace is an instant thigh clencher. One touch is both heaven and hell.

“It’s not fair that the slightest touch from this man has the power to electrify my heart and body and mind.”

Lucy doesn’t want to crush on her hot boss and former school crush but she can’t fight that fire-hot attraction that surrounds them like an aura. Little does Lucy know that her boss has a heavy dose of Lucy lust. When boss and worker with off-the-charts chemistry collide or more like combust, it's a frenzy of forbidden fireworks.

“The kiss catches me off guard. It’s bruising, almost punishing, as he spreads my lips apart with his tongue…He tastes as good as he smells, and I find myself unable to quit him or this.”

That kiss is molten lava, which melted me from head to toe. Jace’s dirty and delicious mouth melted me even more. Jace loves to get a rise out of the more conservative, cool, and collected Lucy, and oh is it HOT!

“Lucy, seeing your lips wrap around the word f**k makes me want to put my c**k in every hole in your body.”

Holy mother of molten heat! The heat, oh did it soar off the pages right to my body, sending it to such a scorching level that I contemplated a cold shower break.

“You can’t have me or don’t want to?"

Lines are blurred as the employee and friends-only relationships get rocky with this electricity too strong to fight. Friction is fierce and the forbidden is one titanic temptation. Will the former high school crushes forgo the employee-boss relationship and finally make a love connection?

Friction has THE CLICK—that connection to the characters and everything about the story from inside out—where I could not help but fall fast and furiously IN LOVE with the captivating characters, the combustible chemistry, the amusing and burning banter, the angst, the flawless writing, and more…JUST EVERYTHING! This story is sheer brilliance from beginning to end. New-to-me author, Emily Snow, delivered big time and completely WOWED ME. I'm forever team Snow all the way!

A fire-hot, funny, and forbidden romance, Friction is PURE INTOXICATION. Body blazing. Thighs trembling. Soul swooning. I could not get enough this fiery and fierce Friction that burned every part of me. I LOVED this raw, romantic, and refreshingly real read! Friction was unputdownable! I can still feel this fabulous Friction thrashing through me.

I've read a few books by this author and really like her writing so I was so looking forward to this one.

Friction by Emily Snow did nothing for me.

I didn't enjoy the story line. I didn't connect with the any of the characters. The main characters...Lucy Williams was a total pain........here's this woman supposedly with an high IQ...an high achiever....and she let's everyone walk over her...her ex, her mother, her everyone...
 photo images_zpssu4kfhwk.jpg
The hero, Jace Exley...he just bored me to death...........I found nothing exciting or sexy about him!!!

By the time I reached 60% of the story....I needed to stop right there and then...........because really.....this was so true........a den of idiots out there

PS....These are my feelings and I know that there are other readers who like it...so all I can say is ...if you want to read Friction...then do it!!

You have to see this... https://prettymessreading.wordpress.c...

The girl didn’t have one backbone in her body. Her insecurities were killing me! I just want want to explain to her the meaning of self-esteem.

This was my first book by Emily Snow and she made me want to pull my fucking hair out. Which by the way should prove how frustrating this book was because I spend a shit ton of money on my hair. So, I’m not in a rush to pick up another one of her books at all.

To be fair, Emily Snow did warn me the the synopsis that Luck “sucks at adulting” but damn, I didn’t realize that meant she acted like a child.

To me - there was no real story here. Maybe there was one and I was blinded by Lucy, I don't know.

Jace was sexy as hell, though. He could get it.

And her little mistake after drinking too much made me want to slap some sense into the child. I felt so bad for Jace.

It was a decent story, I won't take that away from the author.

This book wasn’t my cup of tea. When I read novels, I base my feelings on whether or not the guy can be my book boyfriend and if the girl can be my book friend. Now Jace can be my book boyfriend all day everyday. Lucy… well… she has to go. I can’t stand a weak female with zero self-esteem. All my girlfriends believe they are the shit, even if they are not. But that’s what I love about them. You can sit here and tell me and my girlfriends that we are the ugliest females in the world and we will look at you like you’re crazy.

You’re opinion of us – we don’t give a fuck.

Lucy… yeah… you’re opinion of her is very important. I don’t know why. She was crazy weak.

This isn't my real review, but neither is my blog post about this book. Check out 10 reasons why Lucy could never be my friend here https://prettymessreading.wordpress.c...

3.5 Crossing Paths Again Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
Life has a way of seeming to smack you down...only to give you opportunities to grow, discover and find yourself through these trials...At least that is what I tell myself....In Friction by Emily Snow, she seems to believe the same way.

This book has all the elements that are hot right now in Romance...

Forbidden Romance with the Boss
Past History Between the Two Main Characters
A Sort of Slow Burn Leading Up to Crossing that Forbidden Line
And, Naughty, Naughty talk...

We have Jace and Lucy; both were in high school together. She was an overachiever and made no excuses for it. Jace came into her school, all Rebel without a Cause cool... playing off how he didn't care about anything Cool. They would butt heads on classwork and she would hide her interest in him. She really hit him where it hurt at graduation when she pegged him as never completing or accomplishing anything for his future...

Well, we meet this woman at her lowest point...She had a very successful marketing career and unfortunately left one company to open another company with her boyfriend then husband. She invested and devoted all of her talents to this company, making it a success... only to find out the entire company knew the husband was cheating on her and with whom. To make matters worse, the ex husband is holding a contract over Lucy's head, insisting she continue to work with him and his cheater, and threatening to sue her if she doesn't. He has been blackballing her in their business circles making employment in San Francisco impossible. This causes Lucy to packs up and move in with her mother...

Great...

After going to numerous employment agencies, interviews and receiving the same outcomes... Lucy turns to Craig's List. Yes, she is desperate and is willing to see what she can get...There is a listing for a marketing position with a salary close to what she would need...It doesn't say a thing about the company or what they do... Lucy figures What the Hell and submits her resume.

She gets a call and an interview is arranged...She looks high and low and cannot find out anything about the company on the Net...no Social Media, no website...Nothing. As she enters the warehouse location and introduces herself to the receptionist... she still has no clue as to what the company does.

Lucy is directed to the back where she will meet the company's owner and Damn if it isn't Jace...
Only this Jace has filled out, looking strong, in charge and no Slacking anywhere...

Lucy wants the floor to open up and swallow her whole...This is so not what she needs...Only Jace is not exactly being a total sh#t to her...just a bit. The sparks from his looks at her and her reaction to seeing him...cause this interest between them...and both know it could be dangerous... very dangerous in deed...

Jace sees the one woman who was the cause of change in his life...with all of Lucy's taunts, corrections and just plan nagging...She was the reason Jace was driven to show he could achieve whatever he set out to do...It was her words which pushed him forward...and here he was now... a successful businessman, crafting his products and doing it his own way.

But now there is a huge problem...because Jace has sworn never to mix personal with business again...It didn't turn out well and he will not jeopardize what he has built... Yet Lucy's talents are what his business needs...Jace wants to take the business to the next level...only working with Lucy can't happen because he is so attracted to her...What to do...

Well, Jace decides to man up, hire Lucy and not cross any line...Lucy is thrilled to get the job, is willing to handle the bossy, asshat side of Jace and ignore her lady bits and their reactions every time he is near.

These two did have chemistry and overall gave strong banter and fun moments. There is a lot I haven't given you... The fun in reading this tale is all of the things you will learn and experience. Buckle up because Jace is everything you could want...

This story had more than just this premise... it had a layer of back story for Jace and Lucy... their upbringing, past relationships and understanding others. Jace's life was not an easy one; he survived and became a strong, loyal man...He was creative, found his niche and was a good person.
I happened to like him even when he was difficult...

Lucy was a bit more challenging, I think. I got her pain and how she was growing... but she also made decisions at 27 which seem immature...

This story had strong secondary characters... so maybe we may see more of them...Overall it was an engaging read, with a very strong sexy guy... a woman who figured out who she was and the two of them were meant to be.

It's been a while since I've read anything from Emily Snow. And this was an AWESOME way to get back into her writing!!

Jace... Jace... Jace...

Can I just tell you how much I FLOVED Jace. His character was amazing and my fervent wish for this book was that the entire story was told from his POV. Honest. He was that solid. I know my wish may not go over well. I'm sure there are people who loved and appreciated Lucy's POV. Sadly, I'm not one of them. I couldn't stand her. I tried. I tried to get past my issues with her. And while she has many redeeming qualities (i.e. intelligence, morals, a big heart), she rubbed me the wrong way. I'm not saying that prudish people are unacceptable, but her prudishness went to the nth degree! She came off as rude, condescending, judgmental, the already mentioned prudish, etc. Especially when it came to Jace and his business. She quite literally almost ruined this story for me. Thankfully Jace's POV was there to balance things out and save the damn day!

This story was incredibly sexy (and I mean SEXY) and was virtually "un-put-down-able". I'm super excited to see what this author has in store for us next!

4 EXtremely HAWT stars

I started this book last night, and I have to say, I was hooked right from the very beginning.

Lucy is a recent divorcee, living with her widowed mother, desperate for a job after her asshole of an husband makes it impossible for her to find one anywhere.

And then she finds one- on Craigslist.

Yeah, let's just say that she's as skeptical about it as I was.

It actually gets better- she's a PR woman, and basically has no idea about the company where she's going to interview, and as if that wasn't enough, her interviewer- Jace Exley turns out to be the boy she loved to hate in high-school.

So clearly there's no shortage of drama from the very beginning.

EXtreme Effects, as it turns out, is not a place where they make metal clockworks, although how she did not already clue in is beyond me. It was hilarious- the reveal. I was perhaps just as flabbergasted and surprised as her, but at the same time I burst out laughing when she finally realized where she was working.

I won't spoil that for you, because the reveal is a classic that you should be left to enjoy.

Now to Jace and Lucy- I loved their chemistry. There was so much heat between them, I could feel my phone heating up from it, it's a miracle that the damn thing didn't melt. They were the absolutely correct ratio of snarky sarcastic humor, and hot hot pheromones. Watching all their exchanges was just as amusing as it was sexy.

I really liked how the author toed the line between casual and a sugary sweet relationship the entire book, never crossing over to the other side. I was very thankful for it.

And then comes the photo.

Like WHAT THE EVER LOVING FUCK LUCY!

I swear I hit my head on the wall when I read her taking the snapchat selfie, when it was made so apparently clear from the very beginning of her job that she was not to take any pictures under any circumstances. See that kind of careless stupidity is why people get into completely pointless trouble. That was her asking- no fuck that, that was her begging for trouble to come knocking her doors. Like COME ON!

So despite her momentary insanity, and my not-so-momentary frustration, I was so very happy to see her own up to what she did. Instead of leaving Jace in the swamps to fight alone, she goes in and takes all the blame for herself. It was admirable, is what I want to say. I absolutely loved how the author wrapped everything up in the end.

This was my first book by Ms. Snow, and I am definitely going to check out more, because she not only writes beautifully, but she also made me feel everything the characters were feeling- their helplessness, their love, their longing, their sadness- everything. That was one of the few reasons why I just couldn't put this book down.

ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

“At some point, while Jace and I were carrying on our casual relationship, I had fallen for him. I had fallen for the sardonic way he said my name and the wicked look he gave me when he called me buttoned-up. I had fallen for the boy who gave me so much grief in high school, the boy with a beautiful accent, the man who wouldn't return my calls.”

Lucinda (Lucy) Williams-Duncan, 27, is a conscientious, hard-working, good girl, go-getter who’s had her life turned upside down. She might just have reached her lowest point yet when her best job prospect comes from the former high school underachiever bad boy who she both loathed and desired as an adolescent. Upon first meeting with Jace Callum Exley, 29, it isn’t hard to see why Lucy is bulldozed over by him. He’s mesmerizing, colorful, and a distinct personality.

“‘When you stare at my hand like I’ve cocks for fingers, I automatically assume you’re afraid of what filthy things they’ve touched.’”

Jace is your rough around the edges, dirty talking (though he sweetens it with the endearment ‘love,’) bad boy. He shines as the star of the story, which pulled me in right from the beginning. Both Lucy and Jace are well developed, but Jace totally made the book for me. He’s the kind of guy that has a distinct edge, puts off a cool, doesn’t give a shit vibe, but he’s loyal and cares about those close to him, and while women might be a dime a dozen, once he’s found the one, he’s in. He’s certainly alpha and he likes to push Lucy’s buttons, but he’s never over the top ridiculous or chauvinist. I liked the “real” feel to him. And I felt his responses and actions always rang true to his character.

While Lucy has a total facepalm moment, I still found her a likable character, that incident aside. Her ‘fish out of water’ situations with Jace and EXtreme Effects were comical and kept the story lighthearted.

I adored their jobs and their work place; the supporting characters complimented the story well; the premise is sexy and fun, and the story well executed. Lucy assumes Jace’s company makes unique clocks. I think you can guess from the blurb he doesn’t. And thus Lucy’s out of her comfort zone moments begin.

“My new boss, on the other hand, strikes up a conversation with every naked person who wonders by. Like he doesn’t have a care in the world.”

Told via Lucy and Jace’s first person POV, Friction is a slightly slow burn (more like heated build), opposites attract romance. It's a standalone, but I hope Jamie and Bailon get a story too.

“When you stare at my hand like I’ve cocks for fingers, I automatically assume you’re afraid of what filthy things they’ve touched.”

I whip my head toward him, my nostrils flaring. “That’s such an unprofessional thing to say. Which is what touching my boss is.”

“Believe me, Williams, I have every intention of being professional with you.” Continuing to stare at me like I’ve offended him by refusing his help, he rings the doorbell. “I was trying to help you out of a snug place, not asking you to choose between flavors of lube.”

3,7 - 4 stars

This is my first book by Emily Snow and I loved her writing. FRICTION is a book with a light writing style, a romantic story and at the same time sexy. Easy text ... you don't even notice the time passing by while you're reading.

The hero and heroine, Jace and kate, met as children and many years later Kate eventually became the marketing manager of Jace's company. A very ... peculiar company.

With alternate POVs we see a heroine trying to cope with her new life, as she got divorced, moved back to her mother's house and now has to adapt to her new work. Plus the sexual tension between her and Jace is palpable and a relationship that shouldn't happen at first ends up making us wish and hope it happens soon enough.

While Lucy is more upfront Jace has a bigmouth. You guys have no idea! It has a lot of provocation. Jace made me want to get into the book and get him for me. * Get out, Lucy! He's mine! * lol

However, I confess that the first half of the book did not catch me right away. It took me a little while to get involved in the story. The other 50% gave a huge improvement making me root for the couple. I finished reading with a smile on my face.

Jace and Lucy has a lot of chemistry, they were the kind of couple that was made to work. I recommend to those who are looking for a nice story to have fun and fall in love with.

O Jace me fez querer entrar no livro e pegar ele pra mim. *Sai Lucy!

Friction starts off with Lucy a strong independent 28 yr old living with her mom after a horrible betrayal by someone she thought loved her. She finds herself struggling to find a job and is almost out of money when she gets an interview from a Craigslist add. Unable to find any information about the company she gets a huge surprise when the CEO of the company is the smoking hot guy with the sexy accent all the girls in high school had a crush on including her. The thing is Jace remembers the smart mouth, know it all, overachiever girl too and enjoys making her squirm.

The chemistry between these two is intense, passionate and down right HOT.

I loved the DUAL POV and how Emily mixed heartbreak, passion, humor, and of course love while building the characters to a beautiful HEA and giving hints on who the next book is about.

I give this book 4.5 stars.

4 "Waterfall" stars.

"Waterfall" you ask? "You learn something new everyday." I say. And that's all I'm going to say about that. Definitely enjoyed this one. A lot. I liked both Lucy and Jace. She wasn't the "alone in the world, inexperienced young girl. Who gets swept up in a whirlwind romance, where the guy (or guys...ehem) she's with becomes her whole world, because there is no one else" type that I've seen in so many romance books lately. She was very relate-able. Smart, career driven with a past and responsibilities and friends and family like the rest of us. And Jace.... Jace, Jace, Jace... Half the time I wanted to smack that sexy, cocky smirk of his face and the other half I wanted to touch myself. Lucy felt pretty much the same way. The chemistry between them was awesome! The build up! The release! So hot!

All of that was great, but this wasn't a 5 star read for me, because the drama at the end was all a bit vague and rushed. The resolution with that was unsatisfying. And the ex-husband didn't get anything near what he deserved. Maybe it's just the vengeful Scorpio in me, but needed for him to get a good smack-down for all the shit he started. Plus the other situation with him was left unresolved.

And on top of that there were some editing issues in chapter 25, where the ex-husband is suddenly referred to by a completely different name. That kind of threw me off too.

Review by Lisa Kane

Friction is a delicious story with lots of naughty action thrown in to the mix!
Lucy Williams-Duncan is just trying to catch a break. She parted ways as the marketing director from her old company. Suffice it to say that it wasn’t an amicable split. She’s got an interview lined up with Extreme Effects in Boston. She moved back there and in with her mother when things fell apart at her old job.

I’m already being reminded that, at twenty-seven, I am A) living with my mother, and B) alone.
She needs this job. Especially since her old boss is bad mouthing her every time a prospective employer calls for a reference.
I walked out on a two-year contract with my last employer. And the employer in question-whose newest text messages have already gotten under my skin before eight AM-is job blocking me at every turn.

Lucy has researched over and over to find out about Extreme Effects. All she finds out is that it specializes in welding and other metal works. No owner info, no product info. Nada.
So she goes in blind to the interview. And who is the owner? None other than Jace Exley. The same Jace Exley who made life difficult in high school. He was the British transfer student, (don't you just love a hot Brit!) the gorgeous one that everyone wanted a piece of-and yet he and Lucy rubbed each other the wrong way. Maybe because there was always some kind of wild chemistry just bubbling under the surface. Now it’s ten years later and Jace would be calling all the shots. But he’s not giving up too many details about what products she would be marketing.
Jace doesn’t just remember who Lucy is, he remembers how much he wanted her back then. Seems some things haven’t changed.

While I’m speaking, her eyes glaze over, and I smirk because I can pinpoint the exact moment her thoughts went south-right when I brought up that I’m good with my hands. She’s imagining them now. In her hair. Ripping away her clothes. On her tits, plumping, stroking, teasing.
Things for both Jace and Lucy are about to get complicated. There are a lot of twists in this book. Some are a bit shocking. Jace is one balls to the wall kind of guy. He’s very much in touch with his dark side. He pushes Lucy’s comfort zones. But both of them have been badly burnt and trust is an issue. When one breaks that trust where does that leave them?

I had fallen for the boy who gave me so much grief in high school, the boy with a beautiful accent, the man who wouldn’t return my calls.

Friction is a mouth- watering story about two people meeting years later. Life experiences have shaped both of them but they still have the same attraction for one another. They still rub each other the wrong way but still bring things to their lives that they have never found with anyone else.

“I don’t care. I just want…you.”
“Then you have me, love.”

4 Everyone Needs Some Friction CROWNS

Emily Snow provides a quick and dirty romance with a touch of animosity between the two characters that ultimately drives the chemistry between the hero and the heroine, Jace and Lucy.

Jace and Lucy are old schoolmates who did not part on the best terms. Both seeming to secretly long for other, but neither feeling worthy or willing to put themselves out there, they let their animosity take center stage. When they meet up again as adults, a similar type of relationship is established, but now Jace is a grown man that is fully in charge of his sexuality and what he wants. Through most of the novel the chemistry between the two characters sustains the reader, but eventually readers want some kind of pay off for the big wait. While the physical interactions are fun and often dirty, I think expected more because of Jace's job and the mention of previous predilections. That being said, Lucy pushes her boundaries in the bedroom with him, and I wish readers would have been able to see a little more of her development and progression into the kinkier side of her bedroom activities. Readers will, however, fully enjoy the relationship between the two characters. The bantering, the joking, the eventual sharing of intimate details of their lives establishes this couple as more than just a man and woman driven by lust.

The story really focuses on the connection between Lucy and Jace, as well as the progression of their relationship. The connection between the two, Lucy's past coming back to haunt her repeatedly, and the conflict the arises for the two characters is enough to keep readers entertained, and when it is all said and done, Emily Snow leaves reader with a resolution that will leave them content and happy.

This is my first foray into the world of Emily Snow, and I enjoyed my time in the EXtreme world. It is fun, it is sexy, and it is filled with lovable characters. Friction is a perfect light, quick, and dirty read that is sure to entertain and satisfy any steamy readers' appetite.

It has been a bit since I have read an Emily Snow book and I was immediately reminded why I have loved her books so much in the past as well as Friction. I was sucked into this one and hell I wanna work at EXtreme Effects, not saying what I may or may not like but I volunteer as tribute to ummm try out the merchandise. What? This is me, if you have read my reviews before you know I have no filter and am a whore, a book whore, but a whore all in the same. Anyways! Back to all my love for Friction and the friction I want to share with Jase, possibly with restraints okay, okay I am going to be 100% serious right now.

Jase and Lucy have a history, not a good one but not necessarily a horrible one but it wasn’t all butterflies and unicorns. The attraction between them is electric and off the charts. Watching them try to avoid the inevitable, that being an explosion of sexual chemistry that could bring down a city block it is so intense. Sometimes it takes two opposites to make the perfect match, Lucy being the know it all, Jase being the so called underachiever. I really loved watching these two come to grips with the other person not being who they thought they were years ago.

The one person I really had an issue with was Lucy’s mom, she brought down the book but not enough that it made me lesson my rating but was just someone I could have lived without or had minimal interactions with. I also did have a tiny issue with Jase’s ex-employee because I think she was mentioned but never really had a closure to why what happened had happened. Neither of these issues took away from my love for Friction.

This is a must read for any who love the buildup of a relationship as well as anyone who has a kinky side waiting to come out. Friction reminded me why I love Emily Snow as an author and one I will read again.

Lucy is pretty much down on her luck. Her husband has been cheating on her, she has no job and is currently living at home with her mother. For Lucy things can't get any worse since she's always been an overachiever and a know it all. As a last resort she takes a job working for her former classmate/crush Jace.

Jace has always been a slacker growing up and used to make fun of Lucy and her overachieving ways. Jace has made a name for himself designing all kinds of sex toys and items. I loved Jace because he has such a dirty foul mouth and you never knew what to expect from him. I loved how he pushed Lucy's buttons and would get her all riled up. These were some of the best moments in the book.

There is a lot of sexual innuendos and tension in this book and I thought I was going to combust while I was reading! When they finally do get together OMG!!! You definitely want to read with the a/c on! I really liked Jace and Lucy together because they were complete opposites and they balanced each other out. Lucy made Jace focus more and take life seriously while Jace taught Lucy how to lay back and explore her wild side. Jace was very different from her horrible soon to be ex husband who did nothing to make her life miserable. They both gave each other what they both didn't know they needed. I love those kind of romances.

This story had a good pace, the plot held my interest and I felt the connection between the characters. As a reader these are a must for me and Emily Snow delivered! There was an issue that happened towards the end of the book and I felt it was resolved just a little too fast. During this time I would have preferred more from Jace's point of view. Even with that tiny issue for me I still throughly enjoyed this book! In closing, Emily Snow is a new to me author who is now stuck with me as a reader!

Bring on the Snow storm. I'm so glad this author is back-- better than ever. From the author of the devoured series, remember Lucas? Well Emily Snow brings us Jace Exley in her latest release Friction.
JACE IS EVERYTHING!
The chemistry between Jace and Lucy Williams is so tangible. You can feel the sexual tension come off the pages. The chemistry goes beyond between the sheets. I absolutely adored the banter and dialogue between these two. It made me laugh out loud and swoon. Jace was crass but not offensive and it's a bonus that he's a sexy Brit.
The storyline had me hooked from the beginning, giving the book a fun and sexy with a little bit of angst, vibe.
Snow is one of those authors that brings us memorable book boyfriends. Friction wasn't too heavy, it wasn't over-sexed and there wasn't a constant focus on the size of his parts. She created an uber sexy guy with his quick-tongued wit, his what you see is what you get attitude along and to be honest his smarts. She didn't have to point all of this out with her words and long drawn out descriptions. A reader just understood that's who he was and could envision him and all his melt my heart sexiness through the events of the story.
I'm so in love with this book-boy. JACE!
D 5/5
p.s. I really hope Snow has plans for a couple of the other characters in the book.

My first Emily Snow book and definitely won't be my last. I really enjoyed the banter between Lucy and Jace in this book. Ex high school enemies reunited as adults. Jace's company makes "metal works" with a twist. The sexual chemistry coupled with Lucy's naive persona made for some really funny scenes. Hot fun read

Friction is a fun and sexy read. Lucy is that friend who is focused on their career goals which pushes her to over achieve in high school then college. When her marriage falls apart, she finds herself back home, living with her mother and jobless. Something she never dreamed would happen but to make matters worse, her ex-boss & ex-husband black ball her making it impossible to find another job. She ends up at Extreme, a company run by the cutest boy from high school that never noticed her. Jace is shocked when “know-it-all” Lucy ends up in his office looking for a job. He also can’t believe his luck. Jace has a lot of fun pushing Lucy’s buttons and working to loosen her up. Their chemistry is electric and so much fun to experience. I won’t give away all the great juicy details, you need to experience their fabulous romance for yourself and all the ways Jace gets under Lucy’s skin. Add in just the right amount of family and work drama which gives you the perfect escape. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Lucy's life has completely imploded thanks to her douche-tastic Ex-husband, not only does his selfish actions affect her personal life, it also takes away the career she has worked so hard for. Lucy is a classic type A personality - pouring herself into achieving her goals only to be completely thrown off course by events outside her control. Overqualified for most of the jobs available and in a precarious financial situation Lucy applies for a position at a company via Craigslist only to discover the hottie from her high school fantasies owns the company.
Jace couldn't be more different to Lucy in high school; a foul-mouthed slacker turned fetish toy maker. Jace has a huge amount of trust issues stemming from his childhood and compounded by previous relationships. It was his last interaction with Lucy in high school that spurred Jace on to embrace his talents and create a successful company and niche market. Jace is a bit of a conundrum, he is loyal and caring to his friends yet makes it extremely difficult for anyone else to get through his barriers. He is very much a black and white sort of person and doesn't allow for grey areas in his life; he places a high value on trust and loyalty and certainly doesn't believe in second chances.

Jace hires Lucy against his better judgement, that is his attraction to Lucy and personal policy to not mix business and pleasure. However, the chemistry between Jace and Lucy cannot be avoided, creating a slow burn in the narrative just waiting for the right moment to explode. On the surface it is easy to think Jace and Lucy are completely different, however, they provide balance and understanding to each other.

Unfortunately, the path to true love never did run smooth ;) Stupid decisions made on the spur of the moment influenced by alcohol and hormones result in catastrophic consequences for all concerned. Especially when Lucy's vengeful, narcissistic ex adds to the problems playing on Jace's history.

Both Jace and Lucy grow as characters throughout Friction not only as a couple but as individuals; confronting their insecurities and overcoming their barriers to help them lead a happier, fuller life.

Emily Snow is a new author for me and after reading Friction, I am definitely going to read her other books.

Friction is the story of Jace and Lucy , two characters that are going to win your heart. Once I started reading the book, I couldn’t stop. Their story is so unique and addictive that I wanted to know if they were going to get their HEA.

After finding out that her husband was cheating on her, Lucy leaves San Francisco and her life behind, to go back to Boston and stay with her mum. When she goes to interview for Extreme Effects, she gets a blast from the past- Jace Exley.

Jace was in High School with Lucy, but let’s just say that they definitely had nothing in common, to say the least.

Jace is a force. He enters a room and sucks all of the air out of it. Everything a woman would want to touch, to taste and to handle her. He plays as hard as he works but nothing prepared him for Lucy.

“ Too uptight. Too untouchable. Too Lucy, even if she was a beautiful”

The sexual tension between them is so palpable and so intense. Both can’t deny their attractions for each other but Jace swore to never mix pleasure with work EVER AGAIN.

Lucy is an unexpected match for Jace, and I enjoyed their sparring foreplay. Jace made me drool with his gorgeous Hulk body, his smirks, his wit, his tattoos, his sex appeal..... (the list is long) and his British accent!
Can he keep a professional relationship with Lucy? Can Lucy yield to temptation?

“Tell me to stop. Tell me to take my fucking hands off you because it’s not professional to want you. Because I’m bad for you.”

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all the characters. J was cocky, immodest and overtly predatory, and I loved him but we already knew that.

So damn steamy! Get your fan ready cause you will be needing it!

“You’re not casual, love. You’re the one I can’t get out of my head. Lucy-I-Know-Fucking-Everything-Williams.”

When overachiever Lucy's life completely falls apart -- divorced from her cheating husband/business partner and flat broke with a pending law suit -- the last place she expects to land a job is at the company owned by the now very successful (and very sexy) slacker she had a crush on back in high school.

As it turns out, Jace had a crush on Lucy as well, and against his better instincts (he has a self-imposed rule to not get involved with another employee), hires her as his new marketing director. Well, the sexual tension (or friction, as the title of the book suggests) is so off-the charts that Jace throws that rule out the window. But as their casual affair begins to mean more to Lucy, an honest mistake on her part threatens to ruin not only their relationship, but Jace's business as well.

I loved the banter between Jace and Lucy, his arrogance and her backtalk. The tension between the two is definitely sizzling. As far as the storytelling goes, I would have liked to seen a few more of the chapters be from Jace's POV. But overall, this was quite an entertaining story! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

I picked up this book off of
amazon unlimited.

This was a quick read. Not
a ton of drama and what
it did have was resolved
quickly.

For me our hero, Jace, was
annoying. That is rare for me.
He had sex on the brain-all
of the time. Now, you know
I don't complain about that,
but after a while it got old.
I never really felt like I knew
Jace, and I didn't really believe
his story.

Lucy, I liked her. She was a
cute, klutzy kind of girl that
always means well, but just
falls short.

I liked them together, but I
would have liked to believe
in them and his feelings for
her a little bit more. Some
of the really good scenes should
have been longer. The angst
toward the end of the book
comes and goes so fast, that
I was left thinking, "is that
it?" Overall, this book didn't
wow me, but it was a fun
quick read if you have an
afternoon to spare.
