Miranda Betts works as a waitress in a roadside diner in Oklahoma. Her life will change when a mysterious female customer leaves an ornate necklace in lieu of paying her check. Later, alone in her trailer, she tries on the necklace and is transported to a strange land full of people who can shift into other creatures, including fearsome dragons. And everyone thinks she's someone she's not.
Corban Everfrost leads the clan of blue dragons and rules the Icelands after the mysterious disappearance of his father. While investigating the appearance of strange interlopers from another world, his sister informs him that he is to be wed to the daughter of the Wildfire clan who has been in exile on Earth since she was an infant. Corban wants nothing to do with a new bride or the Wildfires. But when he sees the dark, fiery woman brought to his world via a magic necklace, she stirs something within him.
At first, Miranda thinks Corban is a jerk. He thinks she's an outcast from a clan he despises. But soon they will learn each other's secrets, and as they learn to love each other their relationship may be the key to saving all of Xandakar from dark forces from another world.
Dragon Blue is the first book in a planned 5-book series, The Dragonlords of Xandakar. It contains lots of fast-paced action, VERY steamy love scenes, and a happy ending.

Dragon Blue: A Lie That's True The Dragonlords of Xandakar #1 by Macy Babineaux
This is a new author & new world for me… See Xandakar is in another Realm… Xandakar which is inhabited by dragons who can transform themselves into humans. This is a great introduction to this series! Part 1 of 5 books
Miranda Betts is in a boring, dead end job as a waitress at truck stop on Earth. When Miranda is left a strange necklace as a tip, she just thinks maybe she can sell it & make some cash. Instead when she puts it on she is transported to another world where magic & shifters are normal. She finds herself in Blue dragon’s lands. Miranda is expected to marry the newly opposed King… Miranda had no idea how she was going pull this off..
Corban Everfrost is the king of the blue dragons & he does not want a mate but prophecy dictates he is to wed with the Daughter of the Wildfires clan who has been hidden away on Earth most of her life, but will be arriving soon. His soon to be bride is only going to interfere with his search to find his father
Corban was real asshole in the being of this book, & I wasn’t sure that he was the right match for Miranda.. But the man or should I rather say dragon… He show us he had heart hidden beneath all that leathery skin
Miranda I was hesitant about her & how her taste in appetite for sex how was portrayed in the being of this book.. I thought that it was going to be more sex then story line- I cant believe that I just said that out loud… Since I knew walking into this series that there was going to be 5 books, I wanted good storyline.. And trust me Macy Babineaux didn’t not disappoint
This is Standalone book with no Cliffhanger, even after saying that It had a good ending with you wanting more. Looking forward to book 2….
People who like paranormal romance will like this story.

The Dragonlords of Xandakar reading order 1 -Dragon Blue: A Lie That's True 2- Dragon Red: A Fire Unfed
OK, look, I knew when I picked this book up that it wasn't going to be grand literature. I knew I was in for a little pulpy, erotic fiction/romance. But I just can't with this shit. I JUST CAN'T.
The romance...how to say this....fuck it, it isn't. This is in no way a romance. The writing isn't bad. The editing wasn't abysmal. The pacing is rushed, but in this sort of book it often is. Just like the fact that the plot is so paper thin I could see through it is not unusual. All of that I was willing to accept as par for the course.
But that this is some author's idea of romance...Fuck you. No it isn't. (And there's no where near enough sex to make it erotica either.) Here's the spoiler: she pointlessly shows up naked (because of course she does, women always seem to have to be put in an embarrassing and uncertain sexual position for no conceivable reason), he insults her and walks away. He then calls his sex slave (the book calls her consort, but she doesn't seem to have the option of saying no when he calls her for sex and she appears to live in a sheer dress with no characteristics but sex, so I'm going with sex slave) and makes sure she sucks him off with her ass in the air toward the door, such that he smugly comes just as Miranda enters the room to ensure she knows her place and that she isn't needed or wanted. (Said sex slave is then just dismissed with his cum still dripping off her lips, no consideration for any desire she might or might not have.) He and Miranda exchange a few insults and then she too is dismissed. The next afternoon she approaches him and flirts for some unfathomable reason. Why would she do that? He kisses her and shoves his finger in her vagina and suddenly THEY ARE IN LOVE. People that is literally their entire 'romance.' And I'm using literally appropriately here, not hyperbolically. There is not a single pleasant word between them. There is no concession on his part that he's been an ass and should apologize to her. There is no point at which either opinion of the other has reason to change. NOTHING.
That's not romance, that's abuse dresses up as romance. So, fuck off, fuck off, fuck off, fuck off for trying to pass it off as love. I thought there was nothing worse than insta-love, but I was wrong. Love that's presented as having 'grown' between two people when it very obviously has been planted in such barren ash and hasn't, is in fact worse. Who knew? Fuck it, again, I just can't with that shit. I'm all ragey.
Then there is the rest of the book, what little there is. Every obstacle is overcome with a deus ex machina solution. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Miranda makes allies of her enemies with nothing more than a hug and easy coincidental solutions present themselves left and right. Bah!
I did appreciate the lesbian (or bi) side character and the heroine's apparent bisexual leanings, even if it's obvious she's never going to pursue them. Having them there and legitimized was nice. I also appreciated that Miranda was given her own sexual agency and not made out to be a slut for having sex for pleasure. (Though this was compromised a little by her calling the sex slave a slut. Guess she can't give others the same courtesy she receives.)
The only thing I found interesting was the epilogue setting up book two. But I won't be reading it because I can just imagine all the ways the author could find to ruin it.

My first book by this author but I was very interested by the synopsis as dragons are such a cool idea. Plus the idea that the two central characters might not instantly click had all manner of possibilities . So when I started to read and found Miranda to be well frankly a little down and dirty I was very surprised . She's an ordinary waitress in a dead end job just grabbing at any fleeting moments of escape she can. Miranda doesn't expect forever and right now sure does float her boat! Yet a chance meeting with a woman who leaves something rather special behind changes everything as Miranda discovers a world beyond imagination but there's been a terrible mistake or has there? Hmm this is hard as I didn't care for the beginning of this story . I'm not a prude but it just felt a bit sleazy to me so a rather unsatisfactory start. Plus the writing felt stilted and perhaps not as polished as I'm used to. This all changed as the author got into the meat of her story though and I really liked the couple facing off against each other. I could understand why Miranda felt Corban was a jerk because honestly, he deserved a good kicking! It's a saucy read so the couple quickly feel attracted to each other but what made it interesting to this reader was the story actually got much more complex with interesting supporting characters and unexpected villains . This worked as a standalone book but is clearly the first of what could be a very interesting series I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review Three and a half from me
Once again Macy Babineaux has drawn me into a wonderfully crafted story. This book has dragons, strong female characters, and some very steamy love scenes. The lead is a shifter, a dragon, and a man. He is nothing like I have read before. Strong and opinionated and untrusting. Just what Miranda needs. Corbin Everfrost is on a mission to find his father and when an unexpected woman comes into his life, he is intrigued by her even when he did not want to be. I really liked the world that Ms. Babineaux created. It is primitive yet inviting. Miranda was different from many women you read about and I found that a breath of fresh air. I really enjoyed this book. I want to read more of the series. This is the series starter, and it looks like it is going to be an excellent series.
Dragon Blue: A Lie That’s True (The Dragonlords of Xandakar, Book 1) was written by Macy Babineaux. It is a science fiction that takes place in Xandakar which is inhabited by dragons who can transform themselves into humans. Xandakar has the Wildfire clan (red dragons), Moonglow (white dragons), Nightshadows (black dragons), Tanglevine (green dragons) and Everfrost (blue dragons). In the middle of the country is One Tree where the owl-mages live. Miranda Betts lives in a trailer off Route 48 near Norman, Oklahoma. She works in Benny’s diner for a living. She had lived with her mother after her father abandoned them and had taken care of her drunken mother until her death. Now Miranda wanted something different, something better. How to get it she didn’t know. One day an elegant lady came in the diner. She just wanted a rare steak. Miranda was awed by her; but when she left, the lady didn’t leave any money; but she did leave a pouch with a necklace with an egg size red stone hanging from a gold chain. Miranda paid for the lady’s dinner but kept the necklace. That night, she undressed and then felt compelled to put on the necklace. The next thing she knew, she was kneeling in some massive hall completely naked except for the necklace. Before her was the most gorgeous man she had ever seen who was dressed in a blue suit with what looked like scales on it. Beside him was a man all covered in a white cloak. They welcomed her as Siccora Wildfire. It seems they were expecting Siccora to arrive that day to marry Corban, the man in blue who was the leader of the Everfrosts. Dumbfounded, she let them think she was Siccora. What will Miranda do when her Wildfire father turns up for the wedding? What will she do when she finds out she is in the land of dragons and more importantly is one? Then the real Siccora turns up! I agreed to read and review this book because I had read another book by this author and she asked me to try this one. I was reluctant to try it because it was all about dragons and I am not a big science fiction fan. I had always told my students to try different genres and not give up on any one of them; so I felt I had to give it a shot. I am so glad I did. The book is really good and once you figure out you are no longer in Oklahoma, you are hooked. You must read on to find out what will happen to Miranda. I highly recommend this book.
I received a request from new-to-me author Macy Babineaux to read and review an ARC of this first in her new PNR series about dragons. Ughm, yeah! I'm in. At about 140 pages I rate this read a solid four stars, but by the end? 5 stars BAM So let me just say right up front, our heroine Miranda does not enter chapter one on a unicorn, with flowers woven in her hair, reciting 10th century love sonnets whilst contemplating how to save every at-risk underloved child one kid at a time. Nope. Not even close. She has no ambitions, a fairly low moral code (ummmm...personal safety?), and inner dialog convos that provide little spark for motivation toward self improvement. She's unabashedly unapologetic for all things Miranda. She knows life is passing her by, maybe even missing a bit of life in general, and while she thinks about how her life could be different her inner dialog is gloriously angsty free...no wallowing in self pity for her. This is just soooo damn refreshing in a contemporary heroine. I think I have a girl crush on her. Then one day an other-worldlishly beautiful babe "tips" her a hardrock blingy necklace, and our girl feels that this is the sign. This might be her "something" that's been missing...good bye diner, right? Well, she won't be in Kansas anymore. And now comes our perfectly imperfect hero, Corban Everfrost, prince of the dragon clan Wildfire in the realm of Xandakar. Corban is entitled, impulsive, and stubborn. But he has a lot of mysteries weighing on his full wavy haired head. He also has a sense of duty to his kin and clan. And then there's that whole prophesied chosen mate business. Makes a young prince cranky. And not very lurvable. He is really, like all men, a diamond in the ruff ;) Once girl meets boy...in a dragon realm far, far away...things get real interesting people! Totally impressed with how Corban's mysteries unfold, cause I did NOT see that coming! Even more in love with Miranda as she jumps in her new reality with new abilities she's not afraid to use to help her prince out!! Unlikely alliances and unanswered questions kept me interested and has me looking forward to book two. Oh, and about Miranda and Corban? We are left with a delicious HFN ;) Thank you, dear author, for letting me be part of their world!
I really don't know what happened! At first it was fine, the story had a good pace and it seemed good enough, but then after the 50% it just sucked! The irrational insta-love, the out of nowhere gay thing (like I don't understand the point of it if it wasn't even a love triangle) and basically everything about the plot was just rushed and so so sooooo weird. It just felt like this book was trying to be something it wasn't. Right now I don't know if I'll read the next ones, I wanted to but I don't know anymore.
This was pretty okay. I think the author has potential but the insta-love set it back. The story telling was good, but the whole story seemed rushed and a bit forced. The elements were there, but execution was not.
This is the first book I have read from this author and I have to say that she does a great job of building a world full of magic, dragons and suspense with a little humor thrown in!
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book. I am voluntarily providing an honest review in which all opinions are fully my own. I am not being compensated in any way.

My Review: ✰✰✰✰⭒
A bit shallow, but fun, hot sex, sexy women, hot men, dragons, wizards, castles…just like in a fairytale!
Miranda had a pretty sad life, but she hopped on it when something better was offered, even though it was a lie. Corbin needed someone to bring him down a peg and make him a bit more humble and bearable and Miranda was just the woman to do that. He was a king, but he was careless of women, superior.
Siccora Wildfire had been a child sent away for her safety with a protector. She came to care about her protector and didn’t want to marry a stranger, so she offered up an alternative and the means to make it happen. No one had seen her in years. The two women looked so much alike. So why did she show up at the wedding to stop it and claim her place? Why almost get them all killed?
And what does Siccora’s brother know that he’s not sharing?
Who is Miranda really?
Well, I guess you’ll need to read the first book to get caught up on the first part, while I get the second book and find out what happens next, cause this looks to be one really fun series with lots happening. Recommended.
Corban is unapologetically alpha male and so not wanting to do as he is honor bound to do by tradition. Miranda is a truck stop waitress looking for a way out of her current situation. Oh boy do the sparks fly between these two. Lots of great action adventure with this amazing shifter world that is described so clearly you can see it as you read.
Very entertaining read with lost of action, danger and emotional highs. Looking forward to reading more about this world of shifters.
Miranda had grown up being self sufficient, as her mother had taken to drink, after her father had left, when she was merely five. Since her mother's death, she looked after herself. When the well to do woman walked into the diner , and asked if she felt that there was more to her life, than she knew, Miranda was to find out soon enough how much more there was to lif, all because she placed the necklace left by the women, around her neck and did up the clasp. Corban was still chasing the mystery of his father's disappearance, over a year later. Then to be told that there had been developments in who was to become his bride, a thing he really did not want to be a part off. It was all for political gain and nothing to do with desires or love. Well, this is what he thought, until a certain dark haired, naked woman appeared in his hall. I have given you a basic outline to the start of this book. There is drama and uncertainty in the chapters ahead, but a great read nevertheless.
When roadside diner waitress Miranda picks up a necklace a mysterious woman left, she is transported to a different world, and realises that everyone thinks her someone else - and this someone else is to marry Corban, King of the realm. What's even stranger, these people seem to be able to shift into dragons and other animals, which bodes not well if they discover who she really is. Loved this book. The protagonists had a lot of character, the dialogues were witty and sometimes downright funny, the storytelling was great, as was the plot. The Falling-In-Love bit went a bit too fast for me, especially considering Corban's unwillingness to have this marriage forced on him, but apart from that, reading this book was a sheer joy. Although I think it can be read as a stand-alone, there was enough of a cliffhanger, and a teaser to the next book in this series, to make me want to continue this series. Thank you to the author for some entertaining reading time!
Ms Babineaux is a new-to-me author and although I found her writing style easy to read, I found the plot and character development less than sophisticated. I understand that it is hard to condense the complexity of a full novel into a book of this size and hope that it is a skill that Ms Babineaux can master someday as I thought her premise for this book was good.
I must be honest and admit that the sex scenes failed to arouse me due to my lack of connection or empathy with our main characters which is fine but means that I probably won't be buying the next book in this series.
This started of super strong! Awesome characters, a really cool world to explore, and several mysteries to keep us going. Unfortunately towards the middle it all sort of fell apart? And a lot of it had to do with Corban and Miranda’s relationship… it was so insta love? They hate each other, make out, and now they’re in love? What? And major plot decisions were being made based on this. As it continued— especially as she got her powers—Miranda seemed less and less realistic. If this book was longer, I think it really would’ve had the space it needed to grow into something bigger and better.
Living a quite live alone now that her mother is dead , working as a waitress when all mystery woman leaves a necklace. It will lead her to another world. A world of dragon clans, doe people, vampires, witches, owl people and many others. They think she is someone else so she except that name till the real woman shows up to claim she stole her necklace and her name. This will lead to a thrilling story.
This book was a breath of fresh air, honesty I read a lot of shifter books. The traveling through different worlds put a great spin on this wonderful book. I absolutely loved the ingenuity of the dragons armour, and the fresh outlook on vampires. I will definitely be reading the second book sometime soon.
A different kind of story than I usually read.It was really good.Keeps you glued to your seat so you do not miss anything. You will find that love comes in many forms and is not to be taken lightly.A great love story and with a little bit of fighting in between.
Story was okay. Seemed rushed in quite a few parts. The love between the two was weird with no explanation on why or how or anything. One moment they barely lusted, the next they were in love. This is definitely a story for adults due to the graphic nature of the sexual scenes.
I loved this Dragon romance, mainly because the lead lady is thrown into a different world and finds herself with a purpose in life (which I wish I could find). Some of the scenes were nice and steamy, though not too much. I can't wait to read the next book, because I want to know who is pulling stings and who is the parent of our main lady.
What a magical world! Steeped with adventure, terror, and strong characters who could ask for more. But more we get, treachery and romance. The start to an interesting series.
IF you're up for puzzles. Otherwise I think you'll just end up frufrustrated. Still frustrating and interesting at the same time. Not sure I'd pay much for it just to satisfy my curiosity.🤷♀️😘
A paranormal romance where the heroine finds herself in the wrong world and the hero needs to learn to trust. Throw in a few unsuspecting plot twists and you have a very good book.
There were parts of the book I liked and other that were flat. The storyline was interesting but the characters weren't very likeable all kinda wishy washy. It eluded to things, but then jumped way out field. Okay read..not sure if I care to read more in series.
Very interesting worlds. I like the way the author chose to transport the characters from one world to another. Or is it one dimension to another? Epilogue leads you wanting to find out more of the upcoming events.
Well what happens when you want to change your life when your life has not been good and when your at work one day in a little town and a beautiful lady comes on and leaves a surprise on the table you have to read it to find out dragons and more
This was a fun read. Plenty of shape-shifting action, magic, and lust. I didn't care for the instalove aspect, but it was still a really entertaining book.
