One Move Too Many: How to Understand the Injuries and Overuse Syndromes of Rock Climbing

Rate this book
Rock climbers exert unique stress on their bodies both while training and during the focus of a redpoint. The effort behind these precision moves exposes athletes to the risk of injury in the pursuit of better climbing. For those who've made one move too many, esteemed German sports medicine doctors Dr. Volker Schoeff and Dr. Thomas Hochholzer provide an in-depth examination of common climbing injuries, treatments, and prevention. From the mildest case of belayers neck to a complete finger pulley rupture, get the information you need to avoid injury or to get back on the rock as soon as possible. This new third edition is greatly expanded and produced in full color.

Très bien fait. Donne de bonnes méthodes pour éviter de se blesser et mieux s'entraîner.

Probably the best book (and only book?) on climbing injuries out there. Dwells on lots of different injuries, but the depth varies.

Note there are injury pictures that are absolutely gross, but I feel they are at the worst case end of injury spectrum, rather than what a typical injury is like.
Definitely has good descriptions on common climber injuries. The section dealing with prevention has pictures, but actual techniques and practice descriptions are deficient. I had a hard time understanding what the actual training sequences were.
