Everyone needs to be slapped!!

Okay I really wanted to cuss Garrett out, cause he was getting on my nerves. Raymond, I'm sorry dude but I felt you got what you deserved! You were just an ass for no reason and blame Garrett for everything! As for Imani, girl I would have choked the hell out of Garrett more than a few times!! The nerve of that man treating you the way he did!! Insecure bastard!! Ugh I wanted to slap everybody!!

I received an ARC of this story for my honest review. I was not paid for my review.

This Imani and Garrett's story. They meet through Imani's brother at a time when Garrett's life is in turmoil from being betrayed by the two people who should have been looking out for him. Garrett is hell bent on getting revenge for the wrong that has been done to him. In the mist of his drama he meets Imani and is attracted to her and she to him. Garrett does not feel that he can pursue a relationship with her until has laid to rest the tatters of his past relationship, there is an important issue still hovering over him and this has to be resolved before he can move on.

The story starts in the present and flashes back to the past to fill in the gaps. I could understand how Garrett thought the worse of Imani at the first sign of trouble. However, I was surprised that Imani could ever believe for one minute that Raymond was ever interested in doing right by Garrett or anyone else in his life.

Definitely worth a read.

I liked the structure of the story, the present timeline jeopardy and the mystery surrounding why Imani and Garrett's marriage imploded. I even liked the flashbacks Imani and Garrett's first meeting and meeting her family.

Ultimately though Garrett's life mess and the main antagonist in the story were so over the top implausible that it diminished the story for me quite a bit.

Garrett and Imani

I really enjoyed Garrett and Imani's story. They meet by chance and find that their attraction is very strong. Imani is head strong and just what Garrett needs in his life. Finding that Imani can be the answer to all of his problems leads them down a path of finding the true meaning of love and family.
This is my second book by LaShawn Vasser. I really enjoy her writing style and the fact that her stories are original and not like every other story out there. I look forward to reading more by this author.

This is my review and how I see it. In Feverish Unbroken, author LaShawn Vasser writes a story of mistrust and broken hearts. Imani and Garrett have an instant attraction upon meeting each other which is not denied for long.

Imani Jones is carrying out her life plan in Chicago as an Interior design when the rug is pulled from under her when she is fired from her job. She heads home to Atlanta, but when she gets there she learns that her room is occupied by a stranger that her brother brought home.

Garrett Hadley just had his world rocked. His brother is trying to steal his company from him, his wife is having an affair with his brother and his son is not his biological son. Garrett meets Maddon Jones in an airport and tells him his story and Maddon invites him to come home with him to get away from his problems for a while.

Garrett and Imani keep in touch with each other and soon circumstances led them to get married for Garrett to keep his son Garrett Jr. Raymond has other plans and begins to work on Imani, who has told him to leave her alone, yet he does not take the hit and keeps working his agenda even to the point of throwing a wedge in between Garrett and Imani succeeding.

When an earthquake hits Chicago, we learn what is driving Raymond's hatred of Garrett, as Garrett, Imani, Raymond and some of Garrett's staffers are trapped while trying to get to safety.

While this book does have an HEA ending the lead male has too many trust issues that he is close to losing the wife that he loves. The story moves between the present and the past throughout the story, these are not flashbacks.

This story is for anyone who likes a happy ending where even though in some parts the male lead makes it hard for you to love me because he is so misunderstood and makes it hard to understand why he is so difficult.

The author has provided a free copy of her work in exchange for an honest review.

This is my review and how I see it.

Some ties need to be broken!

Usually I speak about the hero and heroine first but I'm going to start with the antagonists first.....Shannon and Raymond. These two were messiness personified!! There's usually some shred of decency that peaks out from their grubby little cores, but for me, these two had zero redeeming qualities!! Poof....be gone!!

Imani and Garrett were hot together.....the attraction was instant and thankfully, sustaining. Imani had a great family unit so she couldn't fathom family not sticking together or having the others backs, hence the reason she made mistakes trying to "fix" Garrett and Raymond's relationship. Imani did irritate with her jump first and ask questions later way of handling things but Garrett took the silent alpha thing to a whole nother level!! Getting info from him was like pulling teeth ....without laughing gas!!

With all that being said, Imani loved Garrett and Garrett Jr....and he loved them. He's just been hurt so much by people who should never have hurt him and he was afraid, plain and simple.

This author knows how to tug at every heart string you have....you will laugh, cry, roll your eyes in exasperation but you will love every minute of it too!!!

From the moment Imani met Garrett she knew her attraction to him would bring them close. They got married shortly after under unusual circumstances. Little did Imani know that she was walking right into the cluster**** that surrounded Garrett's entire life.

Imani soon find herself caught in the middle of the wheeling and dealing, scheming and double-crossing between Garrett, his brother Raymond and his ex-wife Shannon. The relationship between Garrett, Raymond and Shannon were a complex one. It made Imani face the fact that she didn't really know enough about the man that was her husband. He wasn't an open book and he wasn't sharing much of himself. He was self-reliant, stubborn, determine and had trust issues. He was making decisions by himself that affected both their lives and leaving her in the loop and that didn't sit well with her.

The story started in the present but was told mostly in reflections; was well crafted and as it unfolded I was curious and anxious to see how it all began and how it would end. I don't want to give too much away so you'll have to read it for yourself to find out how it all played out.

This is more of a 3.5 but I gave it four stars. That's only because I've read better books by this author and I know she can do better. The problems I had with this book was the fact that I didn't really like any of the characters and even by the end I didn't see how Imani could even love the main character. Usually Ms. Vassar creates characters and stories where the reader can see the chemistry and love between the two main characters but this story seemed rushed. In fact the first couple of pages are great and I wish it would have went into the proposition story that is suggested in the beginning instead of the story we got. Even when the author tells the history of the relationship through flashbacks there is more bad than good between the characters. I'm a big fan of this author so I still will be looking out for her next releases.

Tears by Denise Anderson

I love the way Ms Vasser takes you on journey with her characters, this way we get to understand why this person actually acts the way they do. The tittle was perfect because Garrett and Imani chemistry was Feverish . While reading this book
My heart broke for Garrett and then I wanted to beat some sense into his head. Garrett and Imani met under usually circumstances where both of them had to decide what to next with their situation. This novel is about trust, forgiveness, pain,
Betrayal and sexual abuse. Have your tissue ready.

Yet to read Feverish Unbroken? Trust me, you need to grab your copy now and get stuck in!

LaShawn Vasser has done it again with this heart thumping romance that deliciously departs from the norm. It was clear from the outset that Garrett and Imani had off the scale chemistry.

Where Garett came from a broken background, Imani was from a solid, loving family and she really was the healing balm that Garett needed. It's just sad that it took him forever to realise this. Understandably, Garett went through the wringer and back with his first wife and Raymond. But I strongly felt he could have treated Imani a hell of a lot better. He was initially a horribly grumpy man, who I felt didn't deserve her.

But all of that made for fantastic reading. The mystique, suspense and intrigue woven into the whole story required the calibre of skills only someone of Ms Vasser' s stature could effectively execute.

This was a gripping romance story that had me riveted from start to finish. I'm glad Imani put Garett through his paces before taking him back. I also liked that Raymond got his just desserts and never got to enjoy the money he tried to swindle out of Garett. A very enjoyable read.

Heated

This book was very heated. The twists just kept coming. Unusual circumstances brought two people together in ways they never had before. Even though there were chemistry, Garrett and Imani's story could have been developed more. I only got a glimpse of their love because they were separated more than they were together. I am glad that they received their HEA; however, it could have been pushed a little more by offering how he dealt with the loss of his brother and how Imani and Garrett reconciled and worked on their family. I was left with more of how he hurt her and pushed her away instead of how he truly loved her like he said. It took a traumatic event for Garrett to say the words and to realize his wife had been telling the truth. I just needed to see and feel more than having been told their story wrapped up in a neat little package. However, this is a good read and would recommend to others.

And again LaShawn Vasser does it! This book had me on the edge of my seat!!!

It comes to this question what are you willing to put up with for the one you love, and go through for the one you love. And!! When is enough enough. Especially when half of the party has been hurt before and is now paranoid and scared to trust.

At times, or maybe all the time we go through tragedies and realize you can't make it without a person. But then again sometimes it's way too late even after the tragedy.

I've always loved Miss Vasser's style of writing because it's relatable and has real essence to it. After reading her books and during I always say "yep I can see that happening." I'm always entwined with a story that has validity to it.... meaning this "ish" could really happen! LOL!

I don't ever give spoilers, but I'll say this! My heart did ache and I cried towards the end.

Keep the books coming!

I very much enjoyed this story. Ms. Vasser tends to write strong, well rounded female characters. Her representation of Imani Hadley was believable and did not disappoint. I initially liked how Imani and Garrett’s relationship was coming together, however, after the marriage it felt like Imani would be standing out in the cold. It appeared as if after securing some security for his pending custody battle, Garrett did a complete 180 and was having difficulty committing his all to his marriage. I do applaud Imani for her willingness to work on her marriage and but was not surprised when she decided enough was enough. There is only so much the human spirit can take and I think she was a classic strong woman. I was shocked by the revelations of the secondary characters which once revealed in full help this couple get to their HEA. All in all this was a very satisfying read and I am happily awaiting Ms. Vasser’s next offering.

This is the story of Imani and Garrett. When we meet Garrett, he has been betrayed (in the worst way) by his brother and wife who are supposed to love him and he wants revenge. Imani and Garrett meet when Imani comes home for a visit after getting fired from her job and Garrett met her brother on a plane and needed a place to collect himself after the major betrayal. Garrett had a lot of trust issues and probably wasn’t ready for another relationship so soon. Imani was unrealistic in her belief that Garrett should be all that she was used to in a family…closeness, telling each what they are feeling and talking as a family. Garrett didn’t know how to do those things and he was running scared that Imani would betray him. I love Ms. Vassar’s writing style, this book was a good read. It’s a book of overcoming preconceived ideas and beliefs. It does have HEA. I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review.

A child's upbringing affects their adulthood

That's what this story was about, along with the hurt of betrayal when people one loves hurts them deeply. This was a complicated story with revelations coming to light through out the story. The contrast in how Imani was raised and how Garrett was raised was totally opposite to each other. All Garrett wanted was to be loved and to loive. It was something that Garrett desired all of his life. It was why he felt so at ease with Imani's family. With her he knew she was the one to give him all that he desired and she taught him how to make that HEA come true despite all the ups and downs that life and remarriage brings.

This was an interesting story I enjoyed reading that was full of mystery.

Have you ever been in a situation where you were left dumb? Have you ever met your future and knew absolutely nothing about the other half of your soul but could not think of anything except him or her? Garrett was a man that carried the world's weight on his shoulders until he was blessed with his personal miracle. Imani had been fired from her job and went home to the love of her family to regroup. Garrett met a young man on a layover and they ......... Imani arrived home to find ....... What are you willing to give to the soul of your being to ensure his or her happiness?

This was just not a good read for me. The whole flashback chapters were unnecessary and so was the earthquake. Reviewing backwards in time what had previously happened didn't really work for this story because there really was no conflict resolution at the end of it, just what felt like a copout to end the story.

Good read

I enjoyed the story of Imani and Garrett. It is true that we sometimes cloud our present with our past. I really wish things would have ended differently for Raymond. Will continue to read stories by this author; she as not disappointed me yet.

Love her books

Why destroy a blessing given to you. That's just what Garret would have done to Imani if it wasn't for that tragedy. Another good read from Ms. Nasser.

I wanted to like the protagonist couple more than what I did. I can relate to feeling seemingly irresistibly attracted to someone. I felt the intimacy of the relationship was rushed I wished they would held the suspense a little longer. These characters did have a realistic feel to them because they made realistic errors. Garrett was still extremely hurt and had major trust issues that needed to be healed and I don't think he really worked on that and tried before getting involved with Imani, this caused him to hurt Imani in very annoying ways for me as a reader. Raymond was seeking validation, payback and something else I'm not sure he got the entire way needless to say his demise while tragic was not very sad especially with the endless manipulation he schemed up. Ultimately I was kind of disappointed in the story because it never really showed the characters developing and working on these flaws in a positive way. The problems they had were just kind of admitted and forgiven without work being put in to give a great wrap up to a happy ending.

Pretty good

This is a good sitting on the front porch with a drink of your choice type book. You've got the drop dead gorgeous hot billionaire( although the " billionaire thing is so tired now...) of course he has control issues...then you have your oh so beautiful heroine and the chemistry between them is off the charts! Add to that the shallow ex wife...the super jealous ultra vindictive brother a supportive loving family and a fairly decent storyline ( with an EARTHQUAKE) and you have the makings of a Saturday evening good read! Job well done Vasser.

I didn't love it or hate it but it was just...confusing at times. Mostly during the changing of the timeline. I don't know if it's me being heartless but Raymond had what was coming to him. Their story was sad but also had it's happy moments. I've never actually been in an earthquake and their plight really put it into perspective for me, with what happened to all those people.
