How many obstacles can a Christmas wish overcome?

A country boy who hates Christmas for a reason, dammit …

When Luke Nash runs into his closest friend, Stetson Miller, down at the local feed store, he never expects to end up being shanghaied into spending Christmas at the Miller farm. Everyone knows he hates Christmas, but Stetson doesn’t seem to care that he’s strong arming his friend into an unwanted vacation.

A city girl who loves Christmas …

Bonnie Patterson adores Christmas, so when her best friend Jennifer invites her to come spend Christmas at the Miller farm, she jumps at the chance. But then she runs into a cowboy … in the bathroom … with her pants down around her knees. It only goes downhill from there.

When a blizzard strikes they’re stuck together under one roof and sparks fly. Will they make it through the Storm of the Century?

And if they do make it through, can the magic of mistletoe be enough to tear down the barriers between them?

A winter storm that promises to be the storm of the century. A Christmas loving city girl. A Grinch like cowboy that thinks he is fit for the senior's complex (even though he is 26). All of these combine to make a Hallmark Hall of Fame type vibe with lust turning to love pretty quickly since it is a novella.

Major plot spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.

I first want to say that this was my first audiobook that I have “read” without reading the print beforehand. I have to say that I very much enjoyed the experience. I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to pay attention to the storyline since I didn’t have the words right in front of me that I could refer to, but I found that wasn’t a problem at all. It was easy to follow and pay attention to. It made it nice with that the narrator infliction changes with each character, which really got me into the story. The narrator just did just a good job of keeping me interested in the story and the characters. So I really liked that.

As for the story itself, it was a cute, quick Christmas novella that I enjoyed. It had a lot of Christmas elements in the story like snow, Christmas trees, fireplace, etc. that I appreciated being in here. It wasn’t just a story that took place at Christmas (Christmas Eve), but gave me those holiday vibes that I was looking for in this Christmas read, which was great.

The setup was really good too that had similar vibes to other Christmas stories I have read, but this one had bit of a twist in that I really enjoyed. Luke and Bonnie’s friends both invited them to stay at their family ranch for Christmas since they would not be spending with family. Unbeknownst to them or the friends at the time, neither knew that they other was invited to spend Christmas at this ranch all together. It setup for a really great and funny meet cute where Luke burst into the guest bathroom while Bonnie was changing where she just happened to be half naked at the time. It was hilarious and quite the first meeting between the two of them. That was interesting way to start their relationship, though they did get over that pretty quickly and the attraction started to build and grown. Even more so as a blizzard hit and they were pretty stuck in the house along with their friends.

There were some very cute moments between Luke and Bonnie. Some were really funny as they bounced off of each other with each of their senses of humor. They had some serious moments where they talked about their pasts and their hurts as they got to know one another. There was great chemistry between them as they shared some very heated kisses between the other. They had some intensity going on as they grew attached to each other very quickly. They just fit really nicely together I thought.

It did happen a little quick, but again this was a novella so it had to get to the point more quickly than I would have liked. I would have liked to see a couple more romantic scenes between them. I wanted to see them together more. Though I appreciated that they had this immediate and intense connection to one another pretty much from the get go, it did feel a little rushed to get the marriage proposal and love declaration that soon. I would have preferred if they stated they just wanted to be together and would figure out how to make it work as a couple. It would have felt less insta lovey, which I am not fan of, but that was just due my personal taste. I just wanted a little bit more. I think if this was a full length novel then it would accomplished that, but since it was a novella it didn’t have the freedoms to do so.

Overall I really did enjoy myself during this audiobook experience as well as the story in general. I thought it was cute, fun, and Christmassy. It was what I wanting when I picked this story up. I do wish it was longer, but that tends to be the case with all novellas that I read. I wanted a little more exploration and more romance, instead of the rush to the ending of love and proposal just to make it feel a little more believable to me. I could appreciate though that they did fall pretty quickly for each other, but I still wanted a tad bit more. Other than that it was a great read.

My biggest problem with this story is that the romance felt rushed. I felt like the snowed in setting gave Luke and Bonnie plenty of time to connect, but it was just lacking. There were only a couple, short intimate conversations between them, and I just wanted more. One minute it felt like they were just getting to know each other, and the next he was saying he never wanted to let her go.
Luke's black lab, Sticks, sort of stole the show for me. It might be because I have a black lab of my own.
The story wasn't horrible by any means. I loved the setting. The mountains. The snow!! I was jealous. And knowing that this is a novella, I'm curious to check out some of Wright's full lenth novels.

Spending a snowed-in Christmas with a sexy cowboy sounds good to me:) I enjoyed reading Luke and Bonnie's story and the way they first meet was simply hilarious. How embarrassing!! lol They say opposites attract and this is true in their case, he hates Christmas, she loves Christmas, he's a country boy, she's a city girl....but when they find themselves snowbound, each experiences the type of relaxation and fun they've never had before and hearts become all a-flutter!! The ending felt a bit rushed but apart from that, it was a cute story.

"Will they make it through the Storm of the Century? Can the magic of mistletoe tear down the barriers between them?" Very good questions both of them (don't want to give away the answers but they are fun to read) Luke so needed to get out of a funk that was making him feel 50 vs his actual 26 years. Bonnie was missing her family and looking to find her usual love for Christmas time. These two are so fun to read and loved the descriptions of Long Valley. This story makes be desperate to read the first book to get the story behind Stetson Miller and Jennifer.

Looking forward to more from all this wonderful winter wonderland....

Blizzard of Love by Erin Wright is a sweet, quick romance novella that’s perfect for curling up with on a chilly afternoon. Part of the Long Valley series, this short read throws you into a snowy Idaho setting where a cozy cabin, a snowstorm, and a spark of insta-love set the stage for a feel-good story. For romance readers looking for something light and fluffy, this hits the spot, even if it doesn’t dig too deep.

The story follows Bonnie, a city girl visiting a ranch for a holiday getaway, and Luke, a rugged cowboy who’s equal parts charming and dependable. Trapped together by a blizzard, their chemistry ignites fast—maybe a little too fast. The insta-love vibe is strong, with their romance zooming from zero to heart-eyes in record time. For a novella, the pacing works, but don’t expect much build-up or slow-burn tension. It’s all about that quick, warm-fuzzy feeling, and Wright delivers on that front with plenty of cute moments and flirty banter.

Bonnie and Luke are likable enough, though they’re pretty standard romance archetypes. The small-town ranch setting is vivid and cozy, making you want to sip hot cocoa by a fire. However, the plot doesn’t stray far from the predictable—snowed-in, sparks fly, happily-ever-after. It’s charming but doesn’t leave a lasting impression, and the characters could use more depth to make you root for them beyond the surface. The writing is straightforward and easy to breeze through, which suits the novella’s bite-sized format.

For romance fans, Blizzard of Love is a fun, no-stress read that’s great for when you want something light and undemanding. It’s not going to redefine the genre or linger in your thoughts, but it’s a cute escape for an hour or two. If you’re into quick romances with a side of cowboy charm and don’t mind the insta-love trope, this novella delivers just enough to satisfy. Perfect for a weekend read, but don’t expect a grand love saga.

The couple: Luke and Bonnie

Romance genre: holiday story; Western; clean romance
Series: Long Valley
Length: 93 pages

Plot: Luke's friend Stetson invites him over for the Christmas weekend, not realizing that his wife had invited her friend Bonnie over for the same weekend. At first, Luke and Bonnie seem like opposites - city girl and country boy - but over the weekend, during holiday festivities and a power outage, they find that they have a lot in common. Can they find a way to meet in the middle and make a relationship work?

Commentary: This was a sweet story, and for once, I was glad to see a farmer/rancher willing to give up everything, including his land, for love. Usually, these sorts of opposites-attract have the caveat that the rancher will never give up his land, never go to the city, etc. Luke was willing to do whatever was necessary, and that was without Bonnie even asking. I'm also glad it didn't come to that though!
One thing - I couldn't figure out what Stetson looked like. Both Bonnie and Jennifer described him as hot cowboy, but at the beginning of the story, Luke described him as getting round like his pregnant wife. Anyways, that doesn't necessarily matter to this story - I was just confused!

Previous book in the series: Accounting for Love
Next book in the series: Arrested by Love

I have enjoyed all of Erin Wright's Long Valley stories and this one is a special treat set at Christmastime! It can certainly be read as a standalone but I really urge you to read the rest of the stories in the Long Valley series - they are all great!

In Blizzard of Love, Luke Nash, a farmer in the Valley who plans on spending Christmas alone, accepts an invitation from his best friend, Stetson ("Stets") Miller to spend the holiday weekend with Stets and his wife, Jennifer. As Luke's best friend, Stets knows Luke didn't have any plans and was just going to be home alone. Jennifer, in the meantime, unknowing that Stets has invited Luke, extends an invitation to her best friend Bonnie, an accountant who lives in a large city about 90 minutes south and is also alone for the holidays, to join she and Stets for Christmas.

Let me say right now that the way that Luke and Bonnie meet for the first time is hilarious! City girl and country boy - both making assumptions about the other. Things get even more complicated when Stetson, Jennifer, Luke and Bonnie find themselves snowed in and with no power. After a long night of everyone huddled in their sleeping bags in front of the fireplace for warmth, things begin to heat up between Luke and Bonnie. But Bonnie lives in the city miles from Long Valley and Luke owns a farm in the Valley. Can the magic of mistletoe and a Christmas miracle bring them together? Such a great feel-good, heartwarming story!

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, however, this is my honest opinion.

A country boy who hates Christmas for a reason, dammit …

When Luke Nash runs into Stetson Miller down at the feed store, he never expects his friend to strong-arm him into spending Christmas at the Miller farm. Luke has no patience for Christmas cheer or Yuletide song. And the rugged cowboy definitely has no desire to kiss a girl under the mistletoe. No matter how infuriatingly pretty she might be.

A city girl who loves Christmas …
Bonnie Patterson adores Christmas, so when her best friend Jennifer invites her to spend Christmas at the Miller farm, she jumps at the chance. When she sets out for the snowy country town, she has visions dancing in her head of cozy nights by a crackling fire, not of a hot cowboy with an ice-cold heart.

The Storm of the Century…
Instead of a peaceful holiday in the country, Bonnie gets stranded at the Miller farm by a blizzard. Even worse, she’s snowed-in with Luke, an arrogant, impossible, but damn sexy cowboy.

When the fly sparks, will two people who are oh-so-different find their own Christmas miracle?

Blizzard of Love is the second novella in the Long Valley world, although all books in the Long Valley world can be read as standalones. It is a sweeter romance with minimal sex and mild language. Enjoy!

Blizzard of Love. This is a lovely story. It has everything a story should have to keep me reading to the end. I enjoyed this book. Continuing with Jennifer and Stetson finally getting married, winter sets in and its almost Christmas. Stetson meets up with his friend Luke and suggest he come and spend Christmas with them. Even though Luke doesn't care for Christmas, he knows Stetson's housekeeper will be cooking and he loves her cooking. While Jennifer is on the phone with her best friend, she asks Bonnie to come spend Christmas with them. Bonnie loves Christmas with all the trimmings. The all get together and low and behold Long Valley has its worst snowstorm of the year. So they are snowed in and have to resort to using candles and firewood to keep warm because they lose electricity. Luke and Bonnie strike up a friendship that may turn into more than just a friendship if Jennifer and Stetson have their way. You have to read this book to find out what makes this time for all of them is so special. Great Read!!

Blizzard of Love is such a nice romantic Christmas gift for the reader. This short novel is about Luke and Bonnie, who run into each other (literally at their friends' house over Christmas). Soon they are snowed-in when a big blizzard hits and the power goes out in rural Idaho. Been there, done that and got the T-shirt living in North Idaho, and blizzards can be romantic. time stands still and you can cuddle up (to stay warm of course) by the fire and time stands still for a while. Luke and Bonnie find an unlikely attraction to each other, considering that he is a rural farmer and she is a city accountant. A lasting relationship seems impossible and he is dead-set never to marry. You will have to read the book to see if they can find a solution to this problem. You will enjoy this loving and cozy romance.

The credibility of two people, formerly unknown to each other, to become a couple within the confines of a short story, if fairly difficult to pull off effectively. The author had great dialogue, interesting characters, and a clear plot. However, it all seemed rushed to me and the ending tied up all the stray problems too neatly.

Luke Nash, a loner, is invited to spend Christmas with his best friend (Stetson) and his pregnant wife. Unknown to each other, Stetson's wife, Jennifer, invites her best friend, Bonnie. The weekend spreads across several days because of a whiteout blizzard. That gives Bonnie and Luke the opportunity to get to know each other.

Sorry, but I didn't find any compelling reason to "tune in for another episode." Overall score = G+.

While this was a shorter book, it still hits you with all the feels.

You have polar opposites, Luke and Bonnie. Bonnie loves Christmas and everything having to do with it. Luke does not. However, both of them get wrangled into going to their friends house for Christmas where they meet. Their first meet up is quiet memorable.

I loved reading about them softening towards each other and the spark igniting. I also liked that there was a little suspense in here also. Blizzards are not something to mess with.

This was a great story where you get to watch Bonnie and Luke fall in love but you also get a continuations of Stetson and Jennifer. This book can be a standalone but it is fun to read after book one.

Luke hates Christmas, but he finds himself spending it with his friend anyway. Bonnie agrees to spend Christmas with her friend who has recently married. She didn't expect to meet Luke there, and she certainly didn't expect to fall for the man.

This was an okay read. For me, it was a little rushed. I understand that a novella has less time to flesh out a story, but the ending seemed very rushed to me. The story was moving along quite nicely, and then bam... we keep jumping forward and getting bits of information thrown at us as we rush to an ending. I did find that quite disappointing. This is a mostly clean romance, for those who like to know.

This was a pleasant enough read, but the skipping over the ending did spoil it a little.

As the winter season comes into town like a lion leaving behind about 1-1.5 feet of snow in a 24 hour period it felt right to read this book.

This is a smaller book, almost 3 hours of reading time. It is a fun read about a 26 year old man in Idaho and a woman from the a nearby town who meet over the holidays from their friends in the first book.

The book switches point of view each chapter, small cast of characters but I laughed or giggled at the interactions each held at some point in the book.

At many points I felt a kindred soul in Luke, but some sympathy of feeling Bonnie's burdens she has. This made me connect more with the book and the cast.

This may be part of a series but it is fine as a stand-alone book.

Luke and Bonnie were so cute. Their snowed in Christmas romance was short but fun. Something I have figured out is this author does not write her MMC’s to be apologetic. While Luke was nowhere as bad as Stetson in the first book, the immediate walking in on a woman with her pants down and then not apologizing? Not a great start in my book. He kinda redeemed himself by saving her from the tree that almost fell on her but still. He was also so sweet with Carma after she got caught in the snow storm. While I enjoy novellas for their short and sweet nature, there is a way to do them without having them feel rushed. This one felt rushed. I feel like it could’ve been done better to make it seem more natural.

This was Bonnie and Luke's story. However, for those curious of what's going on with Jennifer and Stetson's relationship and her pregnancy they will enjoy reading this story as well. Bonnie is Jennifer's best friend and former co-worker. Bonnie is an accountant who is unhappy in her job. She gets stuck home for Christmas so Jennifer invites her out to the ranch. When she gets there she finds out she isn't the only invited guest. Stetson had invited his best friend Luke. Bonnie and Luke's first meeting doesn't go as planned. When bad winter weather bares down on the ranch things being to change for everyone. A great short romance read!

BLIZZARD OF LOVE. By Erin Wright book 2 "Sweet Long Valley"
Christmas at the Miller farm, Luke accepted invite, antsy, and the thought of good cooking. He hated the season, the cheerfulness of the people.
Bonnie, loving Christmas, and wanting to be around people, snow, with all the trimming, accepts Jenn invite. A weekend get away, turns into so much more, a blizzard, and being stranded together. The defensiveness are high can they be broken down, and an end to loneliness for these two. Readers will enjoy this, as all her books are good. To read separately or as a series
Given ARC for my. Oluntary review and my honest opinion.

sweet little novela that brings in Stetson's friend Luke and Jennifer's friend from the city, Bonnie. It's Christmas time and to keep their friends from celebrating alone, they are invited to the ranch to enjoy the food and cheer. I really liked this story because of one thing .. I love books where the characters are stranded in some way and are forced to work together to survive. Normally, I prefer it to be just two but this wasn't bad. Luke and Bonnie have that insta-chemistry and while there isn't a lot of heat in their story, you can tell they just their kisses are burning up the place. This book is short and sweet.

I liked the snowy, wintry, cozy vibe and that was about it. Characters were flat, the romance build up was pretty good but then once it happened, *everything* was off the page - we don’t get MCs talking about their feelings, no sexytimes, no details of long distance logistics. Just a really odd book at the end after an ok start and middle. A few other reviews note that there are two versions of this novella (one steamy, one not) so maybe the steamy version does more to develop the romance. I was probably going to give this 2 or 3 stars but by the end I actually regretted reading this when I have a long TBR list. I was hoping for an easy, cozy holiday novella, this did not delivery all.

Luke and Bonnie's romance is very much a whirlwind romance much like the romance in Erin's first book with Stetson and Jennifer. The romance is a little rushed but the book is short. This kind of romance is basically what you would probably consider a bit of romance mixed in with Stockholm's syndrome. Bonnie and Luke are snowed in together and as two attractive single people of similar ages of course hormones start going crazy. I did enjoy this book because it also felt like a continuation of Jenn and Stets' relationship as well. Bonnie and Luke being the respective best friend's of Jennifer and Stetson just made the story really cute.

Another wonderful book in the Long Valley series. I like a series because you get to keep up with the characters you have read about and get a new story also. It is like meeting old friends again. Luke does not like Christmas very much, feels like it is too commercial. When Luke, Bonnie, Stetson, and Jennifer are snowed in because of an unexpected blizzard, Luke begins to think the storm is a blessing in disguise. A few kisses under the mistletoe and Luke is pretty positive Bonnie and he could have a future together. I urge you to read Blizzard of Love.

Warm and Fuzzy

I love stories that take place in the country, where people live on ranches or farms. This book just makes you feel all warm inside. Luke's friend, Stetson, invites him to spend Christmas with him and his wife, Jennifer. Jennifer I cried her best friend, Bonnie, for Christmas. Although it wasn't planed, Bonnie and Like hit it off, after a rough beginning. Then the blizzard hits, and the four of them, plus Carmelita, the housekeeper, are stuck in the house. Best Christmas ever! Loved the story. Great book.

Blizzard of Love is a continuation of Accounting for Love but its the secondary characters who star in this book.

Bonnie and Luke are the best friends of Stetson and Jennifer in Accounting for Love. They have been invited to the ranch for the Christmas holiday...she loves Christmas...he doesn't. Was this a setup to bring them together or was it a coincident?? But what happens when they get stranded in a blizzard? Will they find a way to co-exist or will the heat they generate...melt the snow??

This was a nice quick holiday read. It can be read in one sitting. It has the magic of the season for Luke and Bonnie. Their first time seeing each other is very memorable and funny. They're opposites when you first look at it, but there is more then meets the eye. Bonnie's love of Christmas is like mine. I'm that Christmas person in my family. If you're looking fora good story during the holiday season I would highly suggest this one.
