Now that Jesse’s home, he’s even more off limits than ever before…

MARY TAFT:
Jesse Valen – the star quarter back of the Jets - is coming home. I always wanted him so bad, but I knew he just thought of me as a kid. I used to love it when he’d let me rub down his muscles in the hot tub after practice. But I was too shy and innocent back then. If it were now, I would rub my hands over more than just his biceps, and pecs, and abs, and way down…well you get the idea.

But I can only dream. I’m off limits, you see.

He’s my brother’s best friend… or at least he was until the accident.

JESSE VALEN:
Some things never change.

My home town looks the same, and the girls still throw their panties at me just like when I was the high school football star.

And some things do change.

Bill hates me now. I don’t blame him. Hell, I can hardly live with myself.

But what’s changed the most is Mary, Bill’s kid sister. Only she’s no kid no more. She’s turned out to be cutest piece of ass even city girls would envy. Yep. I’m gonna f*ck her as much as I can before I go back to New York.

But if I do, it’ll be just another reason for Bill to hate me even more...

This is a stand alone with a guaranteed HEA.

Tia Siren. Spoil the bad girl in you.

The three main characters are really well written and totally believable. The author does a good job of filling in background history for the characters so that the story not only flows but makes sense.

I wouldn’t describe this as a sports romance – the football is only mentioned in relation to it being the hero’s job. There is only the briefest of sporting scenes in this book, this doesn’t detract from the book but I though it worth mentioning.

The hero and heroine get together fairly quickly but since there was past history (at least on the heroines side) the situation works in this book. There were a few really hot sex scenes but this book is much more about the developing relationship between Mary and Jesse and the disintegrating relationship between Mary and Bill. In fact I could have gone for a few more love scenes to be honest!

The book is easy to read and I really liked the heroine Mary. The book was written entirely form her POV. Usually I prefer a dual POV so that I get a good understanding of the hero too. However, Tia Siren did a good job with the dialogue and how the two main characters interacted, that I found myself getting into the hero much more than I usually do with a single POV book.

I gave this 3.5 stars instead of 4 because I felt the story was a tiny bit jumpy at times. Thoughts, feelings, reflections and situations could have been explored more fully and tension built more thoroughly. I would have also liked to see more tension involving Will, Jesse and Mary and perhaps a bit more soul searching and indecision when Mary makes her discovery. That said the author has written a very good novella length book.

Overall this is an enjoyable contemporary romance. It was good enough that I read it from beginning to end in one go and didn’t find my attention wandering once. Nothing in the book irritated me or gave me that feeling of ‘really? As if you would do/say that!’, which is always a good sign.
Would I read more by this author? Yes I would.

This was okay, but really lacked depth for me. This is a short story, but I've read plenty of short stories that felt complete and had good character development, but this story didn't reach that. In Big Bad Baller, Mary is working 2 jobs and going to school in order to take care the bills and support her brother. Mary's brother, Bill, used to be a big time football star in high school, but an event derailed his dreams of playing pro, so now he is lazy and morose, so all the chores and bills fall on Mary. When Mary reads that another local football hero, who made it to the pro's, is returning home for a little bit, she is excited because she has always had a crush on Jesse, but Jesse and her brother have had a falling out because of the events that happened in the past, so the road to happiness isn't exactly easy for Mary and Jesse, and causes some drama. Mary comes across as desperate when it comes to Jesse, and I actually felt she was a little pathetic, so I had a hard time connecting with her. There's also a scene when she meets him at a party and he has a girl on him, and then he says something along the lines of, "All these girls chasing me, saying nice things... it's hard to resist.", and granted this is before anything happens with them, but really who wants a guy that says he can't resist when girls come on to him; especially since he is in a job where he will be traveling a lot, but this barely even phases Mary, and leads me to believe her feelings for Jesse weren't based on much, and all she cared about was catching Jesse. There also was no substance to Jesse, he was just flat, and really nothing to swoon over. The relationship between Mary and Jesse felt very surface to me; not much feeling involved, and they didn't really have any chemistry. The sex scenes were okay, but really if there isn't any emotion to the sex scenes, I don't really enjoy them. I felt the story had good bones, but the meat wasn't added to those bones, so the story doesn't make an impression. This is the first book I have read by Tia Siren, and I suppose the writing was okay, but I'm not sure if I'll continue on with anymore of her books.

Big Bad Baller is a must read for lovers of romantic sentimental stories.
Mary takes care of her older brother, who is unemployed and depressed after an accident. One day she meets Jesse again, the former best friend of her brother and NFL star and crush of her school days. Both fall in love. Both do not know how to get to understand Mary's brother, who hates Jesse since the accident.
A passionate, very emotionally written story.

Although this was well written, it did not reach out and grab me. it was an okay read but I thought there were too many unbelievable scenes and the plot was a little unrealistic.

Mary Taft has spent the past few years working two jobs and trying to pick up the broken pieces of her family. She’s desperately trying to support her ex-con, depressed brother and they share a tiny, ratty apartment, but he doesn’t share much else with her. He’s lost in the past, focusing on his regrets and stuck on the couch drinking and playing video games, while Mary works her butt off to put food in the fridge.

Mary and her brother Bill lost their parents several years ago as well, so all they have in the world is each other. This makes Bill’s retreat into misery much harder on Mary as he’s her only support and they used to be close friends. The man who Bill swears ruined his life and destroyed is future, is coming back to town and is welcomed with a hero’s welcome. Jesse Valen is Bill’s former best friend, Mary’s forever crush and he’s now an NFL superstar.

Mary literally runs into Jesse at the grocery store and is immediately thrown back into her high school crush with stars in her eyes. They share a drink and meet up at a party, but when she tries to bring Jesse home to make amends with Bill, he goes off the deep end. Not willing to stay and be verbally assaulted by her brother further, she goes back to the hotel with Jesse. They have a relaxing evening together and a very hot start to the following day.

Jesse and Mary start to date, but Bill is still adamantly opposed. He insists that Jesse will ruin Mary’s life, just like he ruined Bill’s life. Bill predicts that Jesse will run off at the first sign of trouble and save himself, leaving Mary to pick up the pieces of her shattered heart.

When Mary tells Jesse that she’s pregnant, she fully expects him to bolt and leave her alone and penniless. Will Jesse surprise Mary and step up? Can Bill get over Jesse’s betrayal and come around to accept his sister’s new relationship? Who will help Mary with the baby if Bill and Jesse both abandon her?

Surprisingly sweet and sexy sports romance. The history with Bill, Jesse and Mary really lays a strong foundation for the present issues and makes it easy to understand how Mary and Jess quickly fall back into a friendship and headfirst into a romantic relationship. Very well written, with a wonderfully perfect happily ever after.

The book is told from Mary’s point of view.

Standalone. No Cliff-hanger. HEA

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary copy.

Alright, I’m not able to find this in Amazon, I don’t know what happened to it but I do remember reading it so I’m not going crazy.

Ok, I liked her book Big Bad Cowboy but this one was just a let down. The characters really didn’t have any depth for me, Mary just seemed like a push over.

She would start to stand up for herself and then just back down. I mean, her brother treating her like that is bad enough but

Then I felt like their relationship was mostly physical, hardly any emotion to feel between them; though that could be because I had a certain mindset about them with the earlier encounter I mentioned. No connection whatsoever.

Now while I do admit that the sex scenes were steamy, I do feel like they were placed in the wrong spots so this is a no for me.

Thank you for reading my review.

This was an okay read. The characters were okay, I could have used more character development, especially with Jesse. Mary was not as bad. She works her butt off to take care of her brother who sits at home playing video games and drinking all day. He had something happen to him when he was in his last year of high school I believe but we don't find out what it is until the end of the story pretty much. It made it hard to understand what was going on with him and Jesse and why they had so many issues. The sex is explicit. The plot of the story was interesting, I just had a hard time once I started getting into it because certain things just didn't add up for me. Mary and Jesse got together a little too easy for me, especially after she caught him making out with someone on what she thought was their first date. His excuse didn't cut it for me and I just didn't feel that he fully redeemed/changed himself from that type of behavior. I was looking for his character to grow a little more and see him figure things out rather than things just seeming to be okay. This is why I struggled with the book. It had a lot of potential and I was able to finish the story. I guess I was just looking for a little bit more.

Big Bad Baller by Tia Siren is a bad boy sports romance. This book is Mary and Jesse's story, but an integral part within the story is Mary's brother Billy. Mary and Jesse's relationship has some history and there is parts of it Mary needs to know. Tia writes really good sports romance, to include the alpha male bad boy.

A quick, sweet, and emotional romance story with an interesting plot-line, some humor, secrets, past mistakes, remorse, hot sex, love, and a HEA. My only complaint about this book is that I would have loved to see a little more character development.

This is a voluntary and honest review for an advanced copy.
I liked this short story but i did find some of the conversations between the main characters a bit stilted, it didn't flow smoothly and just seemed a bit clunky. Don't worry about the title saying a sports romance as there was very little about the sport. (Which is fine with me because i don't actually know anything about it) I didn't even get the feeling that Jesse was a real bad boy, in fact the complete opposite. Mary was a grafter, holding down two jobs to support her layabout brother. Bill, who had a failed football career through a stupid decision to drive under the influence. So, as you can see the plot for a good story was there but it just didn't gel for me.
The story was a sweet romance where everybody has their happy ending and if you have a couple of lazy hours to spare then i would say read this book.

Enjoyed this story about Mary Taft and Jesse Valen. These two grew up together having spent dinners and camping trips with each other. Jesse was also Mary's brother Bill, best friend until one tragic night just to get some damn fries.

Mary has been taking care of her brother Bill who is suffering in a deep depression since that night out with his friends five years ago. Two years later they lost their parents in a car accident. Nothing is going great for these two and although Mary is doing her best she is unsure how long she can continue going down this route. While checking her phone she comes across an article that the town's superstar is coming home while on break from the NFL. She tells her brother his friend will be home and that makes Bill blow up stating he is no friend of his. Mary not knowing the whole story of what happened five years ago just cannot understand why Bill hate Jesse so much.

Jesse Valen isn't happy with his life of fame. He knows that he truly doesn't deserve it and he's back home now to try and make amends with those that he hurt. When he sees Mary he just has to try and fix things with her brother. When he tried to talk to Bill, he wasn't having it and threw both Mary and Jesse out of the apartment. This doesn't stop Mary and Jesse from hanging out with one another. Well as you know sparks fly and Jesse and Mary become more than just friends. It's not all sweet as pie. They still have to figure out how to repair the friendship between Bill and Jesse. When they both approach Bill with some news he doesn't take it well and lets just say it's sad and heartbreaking what happens next.

Please read this story although it has some sad parts it is also filled with love. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Mary, Jesse, and Bill grew up together, but after an accident all went their separate ways. Mary is left to clean up after her brother Bill daily after promising her mother to look after him, problem is Bill resents her for it. When Jesse and Mary reunite and start dating, Bill protests and becomes even surlier. Will Jesse and Mary let Bill come between them? Will they be able to help Bill come out of his problems? Will Mary leave Jesse when she learns the truth behind the accident all those years ago?

This was a great second chance(as I saw it) bad boy sports romance! You have Jesse whom, while everyone thinks he has it all, is really having a lot of guilt and problems for the past. I do think Mary was a little to submissive when it came to her brother and was really proud of how she started to stand up for herself with both Jesse and Bill. Bill drove me up the wall somewhat because Jesse admitted he wanted to come forward, but Bill said not to. He also seemed to not think any of it was hit fault when technically the wreck was in my opinion because its no different than any other drunk driver they can always say no! Definitely loved this story and cant wait for more from this author!

This book is so good. The main characters are Jesse who is a NFL football player and Mary who works as a waitress and goes to nursing school. Jesse was friends with a Mary's brother Bill going up. They ended up not being friends. 5 years later Jesse comes home before preseason and runs into Mary. The story plots is so good and it's well written. A must read in my book.

Mary is left to pick up the pieces of her family after her brother was involved in an accident, which has a huge secret around it and also from the death of her parents a few years later. She is left working all she can while still in school and trying to care for his brother. Who I think has serious depression.
Jesse has the life he never really worked all that hard for but comes back to his old home town. He sees Mary and is hoping to rekindle his friendship with her brother but he's holding a seriously hard grudge, 5 years later.
Mary and Jesse get together and things start heating up. They have a relationship and Mary ends up pregnant. She tells Jeese, who is surprisingly okay about it all. Mary finally gets to know what really happened during that accident and now Jesse us ready to man up and face the consequences.

I was dying to know what happened with the accident. This intrigued me very much and nothing to what I was expecting. It was really good read and quick. I did feel kind of sorry for Mary nd her brother. They seemed to have had a pretty hard couple of years.

I received and advanced copy and am voluntarily reviewing this book.
This book was a quick sweat romance that I thin once again wraps up a little too quickly.

Jesse, Mary and Bill grew up together. Jesse and Bill were best friends and Mary is Bill's little sister who has a crush on Jesse.
In their senior year of school Jesse and Bill are involved in an accident. Bill suffers the consequences, Jesse gets away. Flash forward.
Bill is unable to keep a job and is made at the world. He sits at home playing video games and gives Mary crap when she asks him to do things around the house. While he needs her, he also doesn't want to need her.
Jesse has it all. Hometown boy making it big in the NFL. But the past haunts Jesse.
When he comes home again Bill wants nothing to do with him - he can't forgive him. When Mary runs into Jesse her old feelings come to the surface. As Mary and Jesse grow close Bill gets angrier. When Mary finds out she is pregnant everything comes to a head. Jesse confesses to Mary what really happened at the accident so many years ago.
As Jesse tries to do right by Mary and Bill things come together.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. This was one quick and great read. Book 2 of Ms Siren's Big Bad Series. Jesse, our hero is a football star with the Jets. Mary and Bill are hometown friends of Jesse. Bill and Jesse were up and coming football stars at there high school. Mary was the younger sister who has always had a crush on Jesse. Because of bad decisions on Jesse part years ago he leaves and lets Bill take the fall. Because of that Bill wants nothing to do with Jesse when he returns. Mary decides to let her feelings for Jesse be known and they begin a relationship. Which of course Bill does not like. There are secrets as to what happened years ago and all three must face and deal with them in order to come through all the hurt. This story was such a great feel good one. I love how it ended! An HEA for Jesse and Mary. Would love to see a story for Bill come from this one.

Mary Taft's life for the last five years has been a struggle, helping her brother who takes her for granted and has this woe is me attitude. A trip to the grocery store and a run away cart brings her face to face with Jesse Valen, her teenage crush, her brother's ex best friend, the hometown golden boy and the star quarterback for the Jets. When he invites her to a party she is excited, yet crushed when she sees him sucking face with another woman, until she leaves and he follows. The two start seeing each other and even though her brother is the biggest jerk about it she still can't see the relationship working unless her brother is ok with it. Jesse and Bill, her brother, have a history and it's one Jesse is still ashamed of so when he has the chance he clears the air and tries to help out his friend. Jesse and Mary are awesome together. ***I voluntarily read this ARC to give an honest review***Mary Taft was working in a restaurant as a waitress and going to college to become an RN. In the meantime, she was the only one taking care of the household where she and her older brother lived. Bill Taft was an ex-con, due to driving under the influence and running into a parked car. He wasn't hurt, but the young lady in the backseat was injured, not seriously, though. The now famous NFL player Jesse Valen who had been Bill's BF and was also drunk, but asked Bill to drive. Jesse had come back to town and ran into Mary and invited her to a party. They began to date and when Bill found out he was livid. For he was resentful that Jesse had ruined his life and now was the celebrity football hero. While Bill couldn't even get a job because of his record. A great read how things come full circle and the lives of each of them changed.

Past meets present. Can there be a future with secrets lingering? NFL star, Jesse Valen, returns to his hometown. Many are excited to have him back, including Mary Taft, sister to Jesse's former best friend, Bill. The story is from Mary's POV. Mary has proven to be a stronger young lady than she gives herself credit for. I so wanted her to have her HEA, but with the conflict between her brother and Jesse, pitting her between the two, it didn't seem as though it was to be.
The title (as given in ARC email) is a little to descriptive, making the storyline a little predictable. Still there's more to the story between Jesse and Bill, making for an enjoyable read.

Tia Siren wrote a heart wrenching story about 3 lives that were forever altered due to the events of one evening! Jesse, an NFL Football star, seems to be living the dream! When in reality he tears himself up daily over the decision of one night that changed everything. Bill, is so consumed by the events that transpired that he has let his life literally stand still. He does nothing to help his younger sister, Mary, who works and goes to school full time, and supports Bill. Mary, the common denominator and the one that can save them all!!! This story will bring on the tears! A truly amazing Bad Boy Sports Romance! Truly believable and realistic events that could happen to anyone! Love, Love, Loved IT!!!!

Mary has had a rough few years. She is taking care of her younger brother, working, and going to school. Until she hears that Jessie Vallen is coming home. She doesn’t exactly know what happened five years ago, the on that landed her brother in jail. She runs into Jesse by chance once he is home. She knows that her brother doesn’t want anything to do with Jesse. But there is something about him that is so familiar. Their relationship starts out slow, but when they do come together its fireworks. There is a need they both need to have filled. Amazing read from cover to cover. One of those that you want to read in one sitting.

Omg... I can't see for tears...happy tears though. Another brilliant story by Tia Siren and it won't be my last. This is the story of Jesse Valen and his once good friend Bill Taft. What went on to make Bill hate Jesse. Thrown into the mix is Mary Taft, Bill's sister, who has always fancied Jesse. Mary and Jesse getting to know one another and becoming closer than you think. Mary doesn't know what happened between Bill and Jesse that fateful night, only knowing that Bill went to prison. A very emotional story of trying to survive every day, learning to love, dealing with unexpected surprises and most of all, doing what's right. It made me tear up at the end. Loved it.

This is the first book I've read by this author. It's quite a short book but enjoyable.
Mary has been working her ass off waitressing and taking care of her brother Bill who got into trouble and since being released from prison thinks that the world owes him something. Mary knows that he wasn't the only person who done wrong the day that her brother got arrested but she doesn't know the whole story. Enters her teen crush and Bill's Ex best friend who is now an NFL star Jesse. He is hotter than ever. Him and Mary hook up much to Bill's disgust. Mary's lie is about to change and take them all on a rollercoaster ride.
There is an HEA but will Bill be included in this or will he continue to hold a grudge towards Jesse and disown Mary in the process?

Big Bad Baller is great addition to the Big Bad series Tia Siren is writing. None of the Big Bad characters carry over from one book to the next, so you don't have to read the previous release title Big Bad.

In this book we meet 3 main characters Mary, Billy, Jesse. Mary and Billy are siblings and Jesse is Billy'a former best friend. Throughout this book we learn the secrets of Billy and Jesse'a past.

Mary and Jesse begin their journey to finding a HEA. The question is will the past secrets rip them apart or draw them closer together? Will they get a HEA? Will Billy change his ways and mindset?

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. This is the first book I've read by this author and I enjoyed it. Mary had a hard life and always put others (especially her brother) first. Jesse, her brother's former friend and her high school crush, came back home during the off-season of the NFL. He's been living with some regret and wanted to reconcile with his former friends. The characters seemed very real. I felt bad for Mary, who was torn between her brother's feelings and the man she loved. Not to give any spoilers, I will just say I was satisfied with how it all ended up.
