Danielle DeLaney wants passion, and she’s determined to find it with her simple plan: Do whatever it takes to reclaim the heart of the only man she’s ever loved.
And that might work, if she could get him to cooperate.
Sinfully sexy Nico Giardano is unlike any man Danni’s ever known. He’s wealthy, sophisticated, treats her like the most important person in his elite world, and has a playful charm that makes him so incredibly hard to resist.
In a word, he’s perfect . . . Well, almost perfect.
There’s just one tiny problem. Nico isn’t her husband—the inattentive man she’d vowed to love forever.
If Danni has any hope of reviving her stale marriage, she’ll need to avoid Nico and ignore the amazing way he makes her heart race.
But can she persuade Nico to stay away? Does she really want him to?
Or will she choose to throw away the past fifteen years for a chance at true love with the man of her dreams?
Some choices are easy. This isn’t one of them. And when it comes to love and affairs of the heart, some things are Beyond Control.

This review of Two Hearts: Beyond Control (Two Hearts Trilogy book #1) by CJ Andrews is for The Sweet Spot Sisterhood. CJ is a new to me author and I kept putting this book off because I was afraid I wasn't going to like it. I psyched myself out. However, it was all for nothing. The second I got into the book I was hooked. I love the characters. They are real with real life struggles. I connected with them and wanted to be a part of it. I could see this book playing out in my mind as I read. I love a book that can provide all the details so that this can happen.
This book is a definite 5 Stars. No questions asked. I could not put it down. I absolutely loved it. Like so much that my inner Veruca Salt is wanting the next book in the series NOW! LOL. I have theories and need to know if they are right.
Two Hearts: Beyond Control is about Danielle, a woman fighting to save her marriage. Its during one of these attempts that she meets Nico. Danni and Nico seemed to have a connection. From there on out Nico seems to be everywhere. She knows it is a bad idea, but agrees to be just friends with him although he obviously wants more, but does she? Throughout the book it is a continuous will they, won't they struggle. The sparks and attraction are there. How long can she fight it? Or will Danni continue to remain faithful to man that just might be less than truthful to her.
Two Hearts: Beyond Control (Control #1) By: CJ Andrews 5/5 stars
Two Hearts: Beyond Control is CJ Andrews’ debut book, that absolutely doesn’t read like a debut book. The writing was polished, smart and engaging. It was so engaging and just sucked me right in! I can’t believe she hasn’t jumped into the publishing world before now, and I already want the next book!! Good news is, the Control series is a planned trilogy, so more will be forthcoming.
Danielle and Will have been married for quite a few years, so long in fact that their marriage has morphed into being roommates with occasional, boring, non-gratifying sex. Danni is desperate to spice up their love life and get their marriage back on track. She jumps out of her comfort zone to and buys some sexy lingerie hoping to pique Will’s masculine interest and libido.
But Will doesn’t always seem to notice and sometimes seems disinterested. Making a marriage work takes effort from both partners and both of them have to want it equally. Will is hot and cold, there are times where you can feel the love he has for Danni, and other times, you just want to smack him upside the head! There were times I cheered for him and times I cheered against him. But most of all I was Team Danni.
Danni and Nico met during a time when Will was being inattentive. They both were drawn to each other, first by looks and then by personality. Something just clicked in their conversation, something that they both have been missing in life, passion. And though they are attracted to each other, Danni is loyal and faithful to her marriage and Nico is unwilling to go there…again. “Holy hell…Who was that?” “That was trouble.”
We don’t know Nico’s backstory, but there are mentions of a previous experience and him learning his lesson and never going there again. But Nico still wants to get to know Danni. If nothing else, he at least needs her in his life, even if it’s nothing more than just friend. Nico’s story will be forthcoming and evolving in this trilogy.
There was so much feeling in this story, so many questions brought forth, and has stuck with me for the entire month after reading this story. “Sometimes love fades…or maybe it never really existed in the first place.”
This was one read that was different from the usual genres that I enjoy and love to try to stick to, but something about the book just caught my interest. I was not disappointed one bit, the conflict that Danni has and the situations that occur throughout the book pull the reader deeper and deeper until the last page and your stuck wondering, what is next? When will the next book be out?
This book has opened my eyes to the possibility that my loyal genres that I stick to are not the only ones that can pull and entice a reader. This book will have you with the eagerness for more or for the lingering urge to reread the book again as if it was the first time.
For those of you looking for a new read, please add this or dive right into this! You will not be disappointed!
5/5 ~Marie
After reading the synopsis, I was pretty interested in how things were going to turn out for Danni. This book moves at a steady pace and keeps you drawn in the entire length of the novel. There were times when I was so frustrated with Danni and her choices. I found myself just wanting to slap some sense into her. Although I respected her determination to work things out with Will, I found myself rooting for Niko. There were times that I could not believe how naïve she was being. That being said, the characters are all so realistic, it made me really connect with them in one way or another.
I enjoyed the writing style of the author. It was written in first person, so you really get a feel of what is inside Danni’s head. I didn’t always agree with her as a person and I found that to be refreshing. It’s nice being able to read a story that has well developed characters with complex emotions and thoughts. CJ Andrews writes stories that make you forget you are reading and suddenly you are wrapped up in its world.
Two Hearts: Beyond Control has unexpected twists and turns in the story. It will leave you guessing what will happen next and you won’t be able to help but keep turning the pages. Just so everyone is aware, this book ends in a cliffhanger. I can not wait until the next part of the trilogy comes out. I just need to know what happens!
When it comes to life, there are so many things that are beyond our control. Who we fall for is one of them. Sure, you can try and fight it and tell yourself over and over that you don't have feelings for someone. But deep down inside those feelings never truly go away.
CJ Andrews does an amazing job writing about those feelings and conflicting emotions in her new debut novel, Two Hearts: Beyond Control. A book so well written you'd think this was her tenth book instead of her first. From the very first moment I started reading it I was hooked. The whole story just flowed with such great pacing it's hard to believe it's thirty chapters long. And the characters are so well developed you care about them and want to know more about them and where the story is taking them.
I really loved reading this book and can't wait to find out what happens next with Danni and Nico in books 2 and 3.
If you haven't read Two Hearts: Beyond Control, I highly recommend you go one-click it right now. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
I only found out this was a debut novel after I finished and I was stunned, the story is beautifully written and the characters are relatable. We meet Danni at a pivotal point in her life, she's married to Will but the spark has gone from her marriage so she decides to spice things up but it doesn't go to plan. I'm going to be honest about my feelings for Will, I didn't like him at all. You don't always need words or violence to be cruel and Will's cruelty was shown in his indifference and lack of affection towards Danni. I liked Danni and I understood her wanting to make things work with Will but at the same time she frustrated me, I wanted to shake some sense into her and just scream at her to open her eyes and for once think about herself just to be a little selfish. The one person I was rooting for the whole way through was Nico I just loved him, he is the perfect mix of a sweet and sexy alpha. I can't wait to see where the author takes the story in the next book I just hope it's out soon.
This story was intense from the very beginning. Our extremely stubborn heroine is sent on a constant emotional roller coaster ride. She does not not know how or what she feels. There are times you can relate to her tormoil, but other times you want to wring her neck! It's a little predictable in some areas, but not in others. A severely angsty tale.I love the story, so far....
Yeah "so far", as in the book ends it a total cliffhanger!! I'm not a fan of cliffhangers, but I get why they exist. I still cannot wait to see how everything turns out. The next book cannot get here fast enough! I feel incomplete after reading this book.
This story is intense and sends you several different ways. Im still in shock that this is the authors debut book. If you are looking for a new author to fall in love with than this is definitely the author to try out. This story does end in a cliffhanger me I can't wait for the next book. Will is a character that I just couldn't relate to. He frustrated me and really made me want to shake him. Danni is the type of woman that I respect. She loves her husband and gives it her all but will it be enough? Will she find what she deserves in life. Nico was my favorite. He's the kind of character that you instantly fall for. I can't wait to see what happens next.
This is definitely a book that keeps you interested. Always waiting for the next clue or for Danni to fall to her true feelings. The book is left wide open with so many questions and suspicions unanswered. Can't wait for the second book to come out!
Danni is trying everything possible to reignite the fire between her husband Will and herself. Will is constantly shutting her down or giving her just enough to leave him alone. While Nico is a hot younger man ready to give her the attention she needs, she can't find it in herself to break her vows. Nico and her sparks are like she has never felt before, but she is constantly trying to fight those feelings while winning her husband back. So many little details from both men leave you needing and wanting more!!!

How can I put into words how I felt about this story? I don't think I can do it justice. For a debut author it is ah-may-zing! I was right there for every moment. I wanted to shake Danni ~A~LOT! She really needed to see what I could see. I sobbed my heart out too. Damn feelings. Nico made me swoon and want to hug him. Will made me want to drop kick him. Angry much? This book had everything I wanted; sexy men galore, funny best friends, people you love to hate and a lot of the feels. I absolutely have a new author to add to my list of 'buy this book' without a doubt.
Danni is really trying to save her marriage. She is going above and beyond to get Will's attention. He is brushing her off and breaking her heart more and more each day. Along comes sexy, cheeky, adonis, Nico. Yum! The sparks just zing and ping all over the place but, Danni is just determined to fix her marriage. . You really need to read this. If only to meet Nico. I wait with baited breath for the next phase in Danni's life.
I was caught up in the storyline quickly. I attribute this to the author's writing style. The struggle of either spouse in a stagnant marriage is very real. CJ Andrews did a great job of portraying Danni, Will is portrayed as insensitive or complacent in the beginning. Nick, the sexy gym instructor knows Danni is married and still persues her. That is when things become interesting to the point of not wanting to put the book down. I know how I wanted the sorry to end. I am sure everyone who reads this book will also have their own opinion and need to know what happens. Is she able to rekindle the love in her marriage? Read the book, I think you will like how Ms Andrews writes this drama.
I enjoyed reading this book free in exchange for an honest review thru Triple A book blog on Facebook.
