Meet Ayesha, a young attractive girl who thinks she has met the man of her dreams in Jai. Jai woos Ayesha until she finally gives her all to him. It doesn't take long for Ayesha to realize her prince charming is actually a wolf in sheep's clothing. Unfortunately, by the time she realizes that, it's too late. She's already pregnant. Before she knows it, they're having their second child, and things really go from bad to worse. Feeling fed up with Jai's indiscretions, and abusive behavior, Ayesha decides to leave him. However, leaving Jai won't be as easy as she hopes.
Jai turns into the devil himself, putting his hands on Ayesha like it's second nature to him. The beatings become too much for Ayesha to handle, which in turn sends her in the arms of another.
Rashad Black comes along at the perfect time, seemingly bringing a little light and hope in Ayesha's life. Although she's a little leery about getting involved with another man after everything Jai has put her through. Rashad still wins her over. After learning of the abuse that Ayesha has suffered, Rashad wants nothing more than to protect her.
When Jai and Black meet for the first time, it is bound to be some smoke in the city. Find out who will end up with the beautiful Ayesha as the three become twisted in this triangular roller coaster ride filled with love, hate, and some serious drama.
I thought this series delivered a good message throughout. Black's compassion and understanding made him the perfect person to deal with Ayesha. Storyline remained solid & easy to follow. Very good read I highly recommend.
I just want to know where's my "Black" knight in shining armor? Sad story of how a man can make you relinquish your power, having you feel like you don't have any. Or that it's your fault he treats you the way he does. That he only puts you down or puts his hands on you because he loves you. I'm curious to see how the story will play out between Ayesha and Jai, especially since it seems like an epiphany has been realized. Now in story 2: Duncan and Drusilla, I know there's got to be more to their relationship as far as why she acts the way she does. But between the stank attitude, the friendly neighbor and Duncan just deserving better I'm looking forward to continuing this series all around.
Love doesn't hurt. If he/she hits you once, it will happen again. Get out immediately. Ayesha refused to listen and even dropped the charges against Jai. Repeatedly. Jai did exactly what abusers do - isolated her from her friends, blamed Ayesha for the abuse, apologized and repeated the cycle. In the second story, I liked that the abuser was a female. Just to show that men can be abused too. What I hated in both stories was that the women opened their legs on the first 'date'? We still doing that? Really? Not to say that the abuse would not occur, but they didn't even know the other person. Good reading, some errors, but very realistic and engaging. Looking forward to the next installment; I hope Ayesha and Duncan wake up.
The storyline was controversy Compelling and well-written this has always been a very sore spot for most women some never even tell what they go through domestic violence please I want people to silence is what kills us we must speak up write more books this author did a phenomenal job I got to know the characters I got to love the characters as well as sympathize with the characters the loss of the children hit me hard it hurt me I cried real tears this was excellence and expense and I recommend this book to it every body blue and black gave us hope in the little light at the end of the tunnel out freaking standing
I'm in tears because I can relate with this story. I was in an abusive relationship when I was in my early twenties. I was hard for me and my family. Once I left, my life was great again. About 3 years later, my ex apologized to me and my family. I forgave him for hating me. He is in a better place in his life now too. He gave himself over to GOD. We are even friends now. Thank you so much for a wonderful book.
Omg this book was sooooo good. Let me start off like this No Man Should Hit A Woman No Matter What I don’t care what the situation is that’s a punk ass coward ass move. Jai was a complete ass wipe he thinks he’s the man but begs to get the charges dropped after he gets arrested. I wish I was in the book I would have told Ayesha please don’t trust or believe him. I understand that people going through Domestic Violence it’s hard for them to leave their abuser. I hope Jai gets his just dye in book two. I’m hoping Black can help Ayesha out because I feel so bad for her I really do.
Black & Blue: A Domestic Violence Story is a interesting story. The storyline is on point. This is my first time reading from Lady Lissa. She did a good job.
This book is emotionally, verbally and physically abused. This book will make you cry and emotional. I can't wait to read more Rashad and the rest character.
This series was more than your regular series. You actually got to see how someone life can turn because of domestic violence. I loved how the ending put all the pieces together with Jai mother but does not make an excuse for his actions. Some parts I wanted to be there for Ayesha and some I wanted to yell at her. Finally the ending we wanted to see with Ayesha and Rashad. Jail got EVERYTHING he deserved at the end. He got a taste of his own medicine. Overall this series was emotional, entertaining, and so realistic.
Ayesha has been through some much in her short life. Jai tried to hurt Ayesha in the worse way possible, he killed their children. Ayesha wanted to die after losing her kids, no parent should have to bury their babies. Ayesha started to become depressed and blamed herself for the death of her children. Rashad was right there to help her get back on her feet. Rashad loves Ayesha so much her nickname is Blue. Jai is locked up and still reaching out to Ayesha to let her know he’s sorry and still loves her.
You had me so involved in the Rashad Black Character I was so ready for Him to Finish this Jai character in a horrible way!!!! I wanted to reach in the story line and make him Pay!!!! I'm hooked you know how to amp up the intensity Loving it can't wait to read part 2
Great ending to the series. As a domestic violence survivor, I could really relate to Blues story. You can get out of the situation, but sometimes the emotional and physical damage never goes away. Blue got out and I am really happy about that. This is a must read for anyone who is going through domestic violence or knows someone in that situation.
Blue deserved happiness after all she'd gone through. What a supportive man in Rashad. True love is patient and that is what he displayed for her. Unfortunately this story is all too true in domestic violence today. I never cried so much in reading a book in all my life. I could read this book again and again.
It started out really good, but then you left hanging to go to another story. It didn't really tell the story of getting away from your violence relationship. There good have been more of what people go through with being bet by your boyfriend or husband.
The story of black & blue was good but it moved too fast. Then the second story in the book through the first one off. The way the stories ended was stupid. If there was going to be a book two the stories should have ended differently. This was written horribly.
Omg!! Man I can't Stand Jai.. This guy is a whole hot mess!!. I don't see how any girl could have put up with what he doing!! Drusilla and Duncan.. Hmm idk if they will make it. Her mouth is very verbal. I got the concept of the book. While Duncan was being verbally abused Ayesha was being physically abused... I hope Black comes thru for her bc their chemistry is awesome!!. I can't wait for part 2!!
The Black and Blue STORYLINE is BANGING I can't wait to get to part 2 Jai is a demonic man made that way by his upbringing....it's important to teach our YOUNG right from wrong and be a living example of what we preach ..... Duncan is a great guy and would be anyone sane woman's catch feck Cruella lol hope labor gets her baby cause he can't see the snake Cruelle is DRU needs a need book cause she's verbally abusive and STUPID .... OUT FREAKING STANDING
Jai is a straight up Azz Hole n he needs a good azz whippin!!! I hate Aleysia is so blinded by love and I never been in a situationship like this but be damned if I’m dropping any charges but to each it’s on. I hope she finally leaves him alone after leaving her in the middle of nowhere n a dang storm was coming. Hey I guess it was worth it for a sexy man to find you n nurse u back to health!!! I hope Black gets Jai or put them hands on him like he do them women.
So this book has 2 stories in one. Both are really good and surround forms of abuse. One relationship involves physical, mental, & emotional abuse from a man to a woman. The other is more verbal, mental , & emotional from a woman towards a man. The author leaves you hanging on one to go to the other but thst are still very good & evoke emotion from the reader.
Definitely the worst book I have ever read. I can’t understand why there are so many good reviews.
It is poorly written and cringeworthy. The stories don’t go anywhere and it doesn’t give an insight into Domestic Violence. There are no genuine thoughts and feelings at all into how they think! It is basically a book of soft porn.
Ayesha should have left Jai, when he first assaulted her. She didn't deserve any of that he put her through. He constantly makes excuses for his abuse towards her. Rashad seems like the man Ayesha deserves. Drucilla doesn't like the way her mother talks to her father but she fails to realize that she does Duncan the same way. Jenna was a birdbrain for trying to trap Duncan.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Great 5 star read. Can't wait for part 2 to come. I hope Jenna isn't pregnant. She's a snake in the grass. I hope Black and Blue get together and live happily ever after
Great Read, domestic violence is not a think I would normally read about. However this book is great in giving the public views on both sides. Women getting abused and man abusing women.
These books were so good. I can hardly wait to read the full stories on both of these. Lady Lissa knows exactly how to grab and hold your attention. The story flowed well and I'm feeling both .
Lady Lissa this book was to much. Jai had a serious problem about those hands hitting on women's. Domestic violence is a very much series case. I love both the stories and into the next book.
I can’t wait to read part 2 . Duncan I like this characters he is so sweat and doesn’t t deserve all that abusive behaviour. I just wish that A stop finding excuses and leave that evil man . All that violence needs to stop !!!
I’m so stunned I the events in this book! I hate Ayesa went through all of that with Jai! He honestly got what he deserved but dang he has to take the coward way out! I’m so glad Ayesa and Rashad finally to each other they loved one another n the baby turned out to be his.
