No more chocolate! No more meddling! No more men!

New Year’s resolutions are great. Announcing them in a crowded bar, with a chocolate martini in her hand? Not Maddie Cash’s finest moment. It’s time this new realtor got serious about her life and this time, she means it.

But when hospital volunteering lands her at the bedside of bruised and battered Mick Meyer, who has no knowledge of Maddie’s reputation – and no memory of the kiss he begged from her during that long, pain-filled night, her best-laid plans are put in jeopardy. It’s not just his sweet tooth that’s tempting her.

The hunky bush pilot with the concussion has an old family property to unload. Making this sale could be Maddie’s professional salvation. But when Mick turns on the charm, she’s in danger of forgetting all her best intentions... on chocolate... on meddling... and especially on men.

3.5 Resolutions Meant to be Broken Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
Why is it whenever you decide to cut something out or vow not to give in to temptation... That is the only thing that lands right in front of you...We have all had it happen... Swearing to give up shopping and then the one item you have been wanting LIKE FOREVER goes on a ridiculous, practically giving it away sale...Or you finally have decided no more cheesecake... and you are then invited to a tasting of...wait for it...Cheesecake...

I think you get the idea of where this is going...Roxanne Snopek has taken this idea and incorporated it into her part of the Love at the Chocolate Shop series...All of these books use the Chocolate Shop in Marietta, Montana to anchor this series and our main gal, Maddie Cash is close with the owner of the store. She also has her own sweet tooth to deal with along with other impulses... like maybe drinking a little too freely, being more concerned for her real estate clients then she should be... and sometimes giving her heart away, too.

All of these inclinations have not gone so well for Maddie; her boss at the company is not happy with her performance... she is not closing enough deals. This is one of the first "real" jobs she has had and does not want to be fired...But it could happen. She has 30 days.

During a "let's blow off some steam moment" Maddie, a little tipsy at the popular bar in town, makes the mistakes of letting her boss's asshat of a son surprise kiss her. So stunned by it all, Maddie stands and pronounces for all to hear...

NO MORE CHOCOLATE
NO MORE DRINKING
NO MORE MEDDLING
NO MORE MEN

Yup, from now on she will get her Sh!t together; close the real estate deals, cut out the chocolate and stay away from guys.

Mick Meyer has been traveling the world. He uses his piloting to assist in emergencies where ever it is needed and he is in Marietta to clean up some family property and then sell the place. He has a circle of friends here in town and all of them were at the location roughing it.

These two meet under intense circumstances... Maddie in full swing of her personal betterment program became a volunteer at the local hospital. She thought it would be manning a phone or passing out magazines... but the doctor in charge at ER has other ideas. He pulls Maddie to assist with an incoming patient... Mick who had been moving his plane to protect it from the elements hit an icy patch causing the plane to skid and throw him hard onto the ice. He hit his head, face, and shoulder...Here at the hospital, he was in and out of it. The attending Dr told Maddie to stay with him even though she was trying to get away...

Terrific... With a not so nice Nurse Dave as the one in charge of her, Maddie is directed to stand by Mick's bedside while they try to set his shoulder and attend to him. She is informed this is not going to be easy and to talk to Mick to keep him calm.

Mick in his confused state smells chocolate when he looks at Maddie... she did have a tiny bag of caramels in her pocket... as a comfort... and Mick seems to think this woman is a saving angel for him. He is in so much pain as they set his shoulder; Maddie talks him through, keeping him focused on her and not lashing out. When they finally have him bandaged, the Dr. informs Maddie she needs to stay with him to keep him from going to sleep for a while.

It is during this time when both of these two develop this bond.... he sees an angel and thinks of her that way... as someone very special. Maddie cannot deny the man...his way of looking at her, his build and power, even when injured.

From this moment these two are connected... whether they planned on it or not. Mick had plans to fix his land and sell...then get back to flying to all the causes out there... Maddie tries to be more hardhearted with her clients but she is who she is and cannot sell something that just wouldn't be right for them.

We get to experience all of the realizations; Mick liking Maddie just the way she is...and Maddie seeing she is someone who deserves a good guy like Mick.

This was a sweet, well-done entry to this continuing series. All of the books can be read in any order and another one is coming soon after this. Writing about all of this Chocolate has me signing off and getting a treat for myself...

This New Year's while surrounded by people in a crowded bar Maddie Cash was still feeling somewhat alone. Maddie vows to have fun anyway that night which leads to one drink after another and a humiliating New Year kiss at midnight with her boss's son and a public announcement to give up men and chocolate.

After the humiliating night Maddie decides she needs to do some growing up and get her life in order. Maddie finds herself volunteering at the hospital when Mick Meyer is brought in with some injuries after a plane crash and somehow Maddie ends up sitting with Mick while it's determined if his head trauma is serious. While on pain meds Mick begs Maddie for a kiss which she thinks he will soon forget when they do go their separate ways but afterwards Maddie finds that Mick has a property he needs sold and Maddie is desperate to save her reality job.

The Chocolate Cure is the fourth book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series set in the lovely small town of Marietta, MT that has been featured in quite a few different series. The Chocolate Cure can easily be read as a standalone novel but there are mentions of previous characters and places from other books from this town. In this particular book Maddie is a frequent customer of Copper Mountain Chocolates which is the center of the Love at the Chocolate Shop series.

For the most part this was a completely enjoyable little romance read as with most of those based in Marietta. I will say I did think a bit of the hospital scenes were a bit unrealistic to me but that really didn't hurt my liking the couple this book is about. It was only little things like Mick walking out on his own, I've never known a hospital that didn't insist a patient stay in a wheelchair when discharged. And Maddie not wearing gloves, I would think they would have taken her away from the patients before that would ever happen. Small details that seemed off but thankfully aren't a huge part to the story so in the end I still really liked this one.

The Chocolate Cure

THE CHOCOLATES CURE is the fourth book in the Love At The Chocolate Shop series. This is an awesome series, by various authors, which can be read as standalones but if you are like me, you always have to read the series in order! I am really enjoying this series, giggling out loud as I go, and recommend it to everyone who loves fun, romantic stories that are hard to put down.

Realtor, Maddie Cash is having a crazy New Years Eve at her favorite hang out, where she announces to everyone, from the top of the bar, no more chocolate, men, meddling, or drinking!
She needs a life change and thinks this is it! Well, hang on tight! Maddie is going on a wild and crazy ride.

She decides to volunteer at the local hospital where her first patient is Mick Meyer. Mick is a bush pilot who is in Marietta to clean up family property that was just left to them by an estranged uncle. While there, he gets hurt while securing his plane and gets a concussion.
Maddie does help him in the hospital but finds she can't stay from Mick even though she has given up men. The situations these two find themselves in and the banter between the two of them is laugh out loud funny.

THE CHOCOLATE CURE is filled with lots of funny moments and lots of chocolate of course. There is plenty of romance and some very serious situations that effect both Maddie and Mick. The characters in this heart warming story are very real and relatable. I wanted to go and hang out with Maddie and Mick and chow down on those awesome chocolates they are always eating! Once I started reading THE CHOCOLATE CURE I had a hard time putting it down. Will Maddie and Mick just stay friends or will they be able to figure out how to take it to the next level? You have to read this awesome heartwarming tale to find out. I loved learning more and more about all the people in Marietta Montana and can't wait to catch up with them again.

Maddie decides to make a few New years resolutions to give up Men, No Meddling and no Chocolate.
These resolutions are made whilst she is very drunk in the pub on New Years Eve.

Maddie quickly regrets her resolutions as living in a small town means everyone knows everyone which means they are just watching and waiting to see if she fails.

She meets Mick a Pilot.
Unfortunately things take a bad turn when he crashes he's plane and ends up in hospital.
Maddie soon nurses Mick back to health and the two begin to fall in love! Breaking just one of her resolutions.

I didn't really enjoy reading this book I found it slow to get into the storyline and for the characters to develop.
I feel this may of been because I hadn't read the previous books and no way reflects the Author.

I was looking forward to reading this book as I'm a chocoholic but I guess it wasn't quiet what I was expecting.

Overall a nice read but not for me. My official star rating 3.5.

I received this book from the Author in exchange for a fair review via NetGalley.

I have really enjoyed to read this story.

Roxanne Snopek writing has a nice flow, the characters are well developped and the storyline is sweet, funny and emotional.

I hate New Year's resolutions and I think Maddie,is to harsh with herself...no one could/should swear off men and chocolate at the same time but our heroine is so stubborn she tries to resist even when the fate puts a beautiful man on her path.

I liked to see how Maddie and Mick's relationship grew stronger page after page, how they helped each other to change their way of living,to overcome their fears and to finally be happy.
I would have appreciated to read some more about their future at the end.

Overall I enjoyed this book. The main character came a long way as a person. Which was good because she was a mess in the beginning. I would have given this book 4 stars but the main character was very forgetful when it came to her friends and family. Thankfully she got better.

This is one of the most enjoyable romances I've read recently! Both Maddie and Mick are well-drawn, funny, and sympathetic characters. Their conflicts are not stupid, nor are they, and they work through the problems with good spirits for the most part.

It's a short novel, and the focus is on them; the other characters are peripheral, but interesting enough- and with enough hints about their stories- that I am intrigued to read more in the series (this is book #4).

What a fun read! There were so many moments where I laughed out loud, and all of the characters were so unique. This author is amazing, and I feel as though I have been living under a rock by not having read any of her books sooner.

Madeleine Cash has a New Year's Resolution. Or three. No chocolate, no meddling, and absolutely, positively no men. So naturally she falls in love with a cute pilot, Mick Meyer, who has no idea who she is beyond the angel who nurses his wounds while he is in the hospital. He had a "parking accident" with his plane, and now he is recovering slowly, going crazy except for his visits from Maddie. While it doesn't take long for them to fall for each other, it takes a lot of convincing for Maddie to realize that breaking a few resolutions might be necessary for her happily ever after.

I loved, loved, LOVED Maddie and Mick! They were so adorable, and throughout the story I was relating to them. I wanted to be their friend, scarf down chocolate together, and meddle in lives with Maddie. She had a heart of gold, and I thought it was wonderful how her "flaws" were really more like loveable quirks. While working in real estate, she was perfectly willing to lose a sale if it meant the customer avoided making a huge mistake. Commendable and spoke volumes about her character. Mick was your stereotypical macho guy - adorable in his gruffness and stubborn in handling sickness and injuries. He handled Maddie like a pro and was so sweet with her, even when he was in a lot of pain. A stand up guy, was Mick.

I am so excited that I have a whole bunch of books by this author to read! Her writing style is engaging and fun, and it brings laughter to anyone's day. A truly great read!

I really loved this fourth entry in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series, Chocolate Cure by Roxanne Snopek. In this book, realtor Maddie Cash resolves to give up drinking, chocolate, and men while standing on top of the bar in Gray’s Saloon on New Year’s Eve. That mean she needs to get serious about her life and stick to it. She must close a deal before the end of the month or lose her job. Mick Meyer is a hunky bush pilot with a concussion and an inherited family property to unload. Maddie ends up at Mick’s bedside in the ER on her first, and last, night of volunteering at the hospital. She continues to visit and assist Mick in his recovery. The only problem is the attraction between these two, fueled by chocolate and chemistry.

This was a fun, wonderful and entertaining story with very loveable and authentic characters you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I am so looking forward to the next entry in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This has been a wonderfully delightful surprise of a story. Not only are the characters real with personalities laced with humor and complexities, but the dialog is smart, judging by how quickly I finished the story, it captured my attention early on, keeping me entertained until the final page. The story development unfolded quickly, with Maddie and Mick capturing my heart, their relationship evolving at the perfect speed to be completely believable and enjoyable.

Once again Marietta, Montana has been the setting for another HEA romance, it seems as if the secret is out that this town is a sure winner for a story to take place. This is the fourth book in the Chocolate Shop series...each book written by a different author. Each has different characters, with the shop being the common denominator. It is a wonderful premise for an on going series. I hope I encounter more stories set in this town, I'm finding I like the setting here and I'd like to spend more time in this place.

Maddie made a New Year’s Resolution-no chocolate, no meddling, no men! Maddie’s life is a bit complicated-announcing her resolutions in a pub can never be a good idea and, but also she might lose her job, if she doesn’t reach her boss’s demands. She’s is a kind-hearted woman and that’s what makes the job difficult for her sometimes.

Mick had a plane accident and is in the hospital with a concussion. His first night is kind of a blur, he remembers an angelic woman, but that’s about all he can recall at first. The night of the accident Maddie was volunteering in the ER and since then they became friends, but surely there was an attraction between them, if they wanted to admit it or not. As Maddie is helping Mick recover, can they find their way to love?

It was a fun and sweet story with great characters. I liked how the story progressed and also the chocolate in the story. I really enjoyed reading it and can’t wait to read the next installments.

Maddie is an outgoing girl who is unique in her own way. She likes to party, flirt and loves chocolate. For New Years she goes out and drinks and makes her New Years Resolutions to quit chocolate, men and meddling. Marietta is a small town and people are watching her to make sure she does what she promised.

Chad is marrying her sister, at his stag party his best friend Mick "crashes" his plane. Maddie decides to try to change her ways and volunteers at the hospital. She sits with him and helps him make it through the night.

I started this book this morning and it is so hard to put it down. Being a chocolate lover myself I don't think I could ever make that as my New Years Resolution. I give Maddie credit she does her best to keep her resolutions.

This series is cute and fluffy and kind of perfect for this time of the year!

And this one was no exception to that.

Its all very fluffy and overly cutes-y but at the same time there is more going on then just the romance. We have an actual plot, we have actual character development and nice writing.

I love the setting of the small town and that in each book we get more introduced to one of the characters that were already mentioned in a previous book.

If you are in search of a nicely done romance book that doesn't only has romance as its main plot line, and want nice writing and a cute small town setting? This book -as are the rest of the series!- is perfect!

Love continues to bloom at Marietta's chocolate shop. On a drunken whim Maddie Cash makes a New Year's resolution that is sure to fail as soon as she utters it! Giving up men, meddling, and chocolate? What was she thinking! Since she made this resolution in such a public way, she has no choice but to try her best to get through it. Then she meets Mick Meyer and things really get interesting.

This is a wonderfully fun read and one I would highly recommend.

The Chocolate Cure by Roxanne Snopek is book number four in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series. This is Maddie Cash and bush pilot Mick Meyer's story.

I thoroughly enjoyed Maddie and Mick’s story! Their romance was a fun romance to read. I loved the humor, emotional aspects, and the sweet romance.

A great read that left me still thinking about their story. Loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This was a fun read that I finished in one day. It is the fourth book in the Love at the Chocolate Shop series. The interesting thing about this series is that it is written by a variety of authors. I read it as a standalone as I had not read any others and had no difficulties enjoying the story.

Maddie is a struggling realtor who has a reputation as a "Love him and Leave him" kind of girl. On New Year's Eve she finds herself basically alone in a bar full of people. She makes three resolutions, and when she makes them, she does it very publicly so everyone knows. She vows to give up chocolate, men and meddling. Of course we all know that resolutions are made to be, but Maddie tries very hard to stick to her guns. The other thing she has taken on to prove that she is responsible is volunteering at the hospital. When a crazy night in the E.R. has her babysitting Mick, a pilot who never stays in one place very long, with a serious concussion she does not understand her unusual attraction to this man. Will Maddie keep her resolutions? What is she going to do about her feelings for this virtual stranger? Can she turn herself around and prove that she can be a responsible adult? Is she spreading herself too thin? There are a lot of questions and answers in this cute, humorous, romance. I enjoyed it and will definitely read the next ones.

Sure had lots of fun meeting the once privileged spoiled girl Maddie Chase and the daredevil pilot Mick Meyer in this deliciously sweet and sexy story, The Chocolate Cure. Loved the friendly banter between two strangers. Maddie as a volunteer in a hospital was a hoot with Mick struggling to keep sane despite all the drugs inside his body. The promise of never eating chocolate again (OMG, how could Maddie make such NY resolution?) and staying away from men or meddling with other people's decisions proved to be quite a difficult feat for our female protagonist. Not to mention that one heady kiss that Mick totally forgot about.. Le Sigh...

Maybe it's the chocolates, or the gorgeous men in the story, or Maddie's knack for Prada and branded items, or the warm and friendly people of Marietta - these factors definitely made my reading fun and memorable. The Chocolate Cure is absolutely the cure to all my insanity issues. This is my first book by Roxanne Snopek and I am already in love.. Love the butterfly feelings I get while reading this book. I think I am in love!

After a disastrous New Year's Eve, Maddie Cash is determined to be a better person. She's giving up chocolate, meddling and men, but fate has other plans for her. When she volunteers at the hospital she helps Mick Meyer. He was injured in a freak accident with his plane. He and Maddie form an immediate bond. Can this be the start of something special? I liked Maddie. She's sweet and is working hard to be a better person. I admire her spunk and caring. Mick never stays in one place long. He finds himself drawn to this special woman. I was happy that Marietta and his inherited property were calling to him. I was caught up in this feel good story. I enjoy coming back to Marietta and visiting Sage's chocolates. Roxanne Snopek gave us interesting characters and a touching story. I cared for Maddie and Mick. I wanted them to find the happiness that they deserve.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Tule Publishing, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

I think that this is the cleanest book that i have read in a long time. The most this pair will do is kiss, however the story does not need anything further to happen.

This is a story of a woman who makes some new years resolutions that she cannot remember at first, and all of them will be hard for her to keep. Especially when she volunteers at the hospital and meets bush pilot Mick who is delirious with pain and his concussion.

Each character has wit and humour in their situations and are both engaging and make you smile with their flirting and banter.

Its a cute story in which we get the point of view from both Maddie and Mick and having not read any of the other books in the series can confirm that it can be read as a stand alone book.

I really enjoyed this latest offering from the multi-author Love At The Chocolate Shop series. Maddie has been a minor character flitting through the other books, so it was nice to finally get to know her properly, especially after her impulsive New Year’s Eve resolutions have her giving up meddling, men and chocolate. Not that anyone expects her to stick to it, but Maddie’s fed up of living down to people’s expectations so she’s determined to stick it out this time – and keep her job too.

I liked Maddie a lot. She’s a bit scatty at times, but her heart is definitely in the right place – which is why she makes such a poor job of selling houses. She doesn’t think people should settle for things that aren’t right for them, which is great for the buyers, but not so good for her boss’ business. It’s obvious throughout that she really cares about what she does, even if she doesn’t always go the best way about it, and I found her easy to like.

Mick was interesting, because for most of the book he isn’t really acting like himself. Although, can I just say, it is so refreshing to have a book in which a head trauma is something that genuinely has to be recovered from and not just something that’s shrugged off and forgotten about the next day. Anyway, yes, Mick. I liked him. He’s a bit of a wanderer, but I loved how he saw the real Maddie right from the start and appreciated her throughout. Even though there were times when I wanted to shake him for being far too macho for his own good regarding his injuries. Fool.

Their romance is a bit of a slow burner, thanks to Maddie’s resolutions and Mick’s injuries, but I really liked how they got to know each other throughout. They’re good together and even if I wasn’t certain about how all the details would pan out, I really wanted them to find a way.

Throw in the town of Marietta and some familiar faces at the chocolate shop and I found this an easy, enjoyable read. The characters are likable, the chocolate sounds delicious and the romance was lovely and sweet. I can’t wait to see who this series focuses on next.

Resolutions are made to be broken, right? Maddie stands up at Greys bar on New Years Eve and announces to the world, no more meddling, no more men, no more chocolate! Yike! And the town busybodies aware just waiting for her to fail. So she decides to volunteer at the hospital in order to turn her life around and make her more responsible. She doesn't expect a nights shift in the ER helping an injured pilot, Mick, to change her world. Loved this story!

**Caution do not read this book without chocolate by your side.**

First of all I enjoyed The Chocolate Cure. My problem was more with me than the book itself. Maddie Cash was a secondary character in Cinderella's Cowboy and I spent a lot of time trying to remember her. All I could remember was that I wasn't a fan of hers. But The Chocolate Cure finds her attempting to be more mature and less selfish.

In the past, Maddie was more of the party girl/arm candy type but now she wants to change her ways. She wants to be taken seriously and that means having a job, living on her own, and taking care of herself. Maddie has even made New Year's resolutions to give up meddling, men, and chocolate. Let's be honest here, her meddling isn't really meddling. Maddie is a realtor with a conscience and has a tendency to say if a house isn't right for a client. As far as men….Yes she's probably gone through half the population of Marietta, Montana. But a girl has to kiss a few hundred frogs, before she finds her prince. Chocolate….Okay, I have no idea what she was thinking.

Maddie’s good deeds lead her to volunteer at the local hospital. On her first day, she ends up being assigned Mick Meyer, a friend of her future brother-in-law. Mick has just had an accident involving his Cessna and is pretty beat up. Turns out he has a concussion, among other problems. But there's something about Maddie that eases his pain. With no family around, Maddie feels as if she has to stick around, keep him company, and watch over him. The two become attracted to each other. But Maddy refuses to give in to her attraction because she wants to be a new person.

A lot of the book was spent on Mick and dealing with the aftermath of his accident. But this allows you to see what a kindhearted and caring person Maddie is. Roxanne Snopek has written a nice, sweet (no pun intended) romance. My biggest complaint is that there isn’t an epilogue to truly wrap up the story.

Usually I’m ok with insta love, but here it was too insta and too perfect, Angel? No way!
What I appreciate is that you can read the books separately and won’t miss on anything. What I didn’t like is the romance. There were several good parts (especially the characters are very loveable), no nasty descriptions of sex scenes, and the narration was nice too, but that’s probably it.
I also enjoyed the chocolate theme, indeed very tasty. But I don’t like how it’s woven into the story. The impression is that the story lives separately from the chocolate line. And those resolutions seemed a bit artificial and cliche too.

> > Judging a Book by it's Cover < <
I love the water-color marker effect of this series' covers. Looks to be a Yorkie in a travel bag between the feet of a couple standing face-to-face inside the chocolate shop. Cute sounding synopsis.
> > Looking Deeper < <
POV: Third-person
Mick: 4.25
Bush pilot, flew in for Chad's stag weekend and used his newly-inherited fishing cabin as party base only to become injured while trying to secure his Cessna before a storm. No real roots, prefers to travel and keep on the move. Now he's grounded until further notice.
Maddie: 4.25
Free-spirit and kind-hearted, often put everyone else ahead of herself even if that meant she was seen as flighty, irresponsible, meddling, a tease. She considered herself to be a bad sister, daughter, and friend. The nice one, but unable to do anything right. She needed something to ground her and a night in the ER as a volunteer just may be what she needed.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS: 4
Various citizens of Marietta, Montana, plus cameos from outside family. Sufficient plot fillers.
CHEMISTRY / COMPATIBILITY: 4
Instant, but between his concussion and her resolutions, nothing was acted upon. This is a CLEAN romance with no more than a couple stolen kisses.
DIALOGUE AND INTERACTION: 4.5
Natural and realistic.
PLOT AND FLOW: 4.25
The plot was light, cute, fun. There was a fair amount of angst, but the lead couple were enjoyable as individuals as well as as a couple.
CONFLICTS AND RESOLUTION: 4
Other than the above mentioned New Year resolutions and her determination to prove to people that she can stick to being responsible and his "parking accident", concussion, and subsequent recovery, there's not a lot standing in their way... unless you want to also consider her smarmy co-worker or unethical boss. No loose ends are really left, though, in the end.
PREDICTABILITY: 4.25
Predictability was virtually nil. No big surprises. The plot could have taken a different path for Maddie and I'm a little sad to see that it didn't.
CONCLUSION: 4
While the couple seem to receive an implied HEA, the ending felt awfully rushed and untidy.
RECOMMENDABILITY: 4
Since each book revolves around a completely different couple and only loosely tied to the others via the chocolate shop and the town in which they reside, I'd say that this book could be read as a stand-alone fairly well. However, to gain the maximum experience that the series has to offer, I'd suggest reading it from the beginning.

After a New Year’s resolution not to eat chocolate, not to meddle, and not to hook up with any more men, Maddie Cash finds out how difficult it will be to keep the resolutions—especially in a small town, where everyone knows everyone’s business and when the resolutions are made in the town’s most public bar on New Year’s Eve (when you are without a date and are fighting off the men you have no interest in who keep pestering you). Shortly after making the New Year’s resolutions, Maddie encounters a bush pilot, injured in a freak accident, while volunteering at the local hospital. Neither Maddie nor the bush pilot, Mick Meyer, can fight the attraction that starts to grow between them from the first meeting. As Mick convalesces, Maddie is there to help and encourage him every step of the way, all the while giving him some of the luscious chocolates from the town concession her best friend owns and operates. Only time will tell if their growing attraction, which is, by the way, in full view of the small town’s eyes and ears, continues and where it leads. At the same time, Maddie, a real estate agent, is trying desperately to keep her real estate job, mostly because she has difficulty selling houses to customers, who really do not fit in with the current house they have her showing them.

The author has written a good romance. The story flows well. The characters are well developed and true to life. The life depicted in a small town is also realistic. Maddie and Mick make a lovable couple. In fact, I found the character Maddie well worth admiration. She is down-to-earth, has some faults but many more good points—even her shortcomings are diminished routinely by her good deeds. Mick came across as the perfect match for her: young, hunky but not arrogant, easy to relate to, open and as lovable as Maddie. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this couple meet, grow in their relationship and finally realize its importance. The setting also was perfect for this couple’s storybook romance. Finally, it was nice to have the couple meet in a bit different way than couples meet in other romances. I appreciated that Maddie had not suddenly moved to a small town after a disastrous personal event (like a divorce or break-up) and did not somehow get hired, buy or inherit an inn/B&B. I think this is a great book to curl up with on a cold or snowy afternoon or weekend. After reading this book, I will seek out others by the author and in the series. I received this form NetGalley to read and review.
