Happy Howling Holidays Box Set I love shapeshifter, so this is a great box set to get in the mood for the holidays. Happy Howling Holidays Box Set includes the following books and authors:
Bear in Furry Armor - Emma Alisyn Bearly Christmas - Becca Fanning A Roaring Fire - Kim Faulks Cowboy Bear’s Christmas Surprise - Scarlett Grove Beary Merry Winter - Kate Kent Her Dragon’s No Angel - Julia Mills A True Alpha Christmas - Alisa Woods The Cowbear’s Christmas Shotgun Wedding - Liv Brywood Bear My Perfect Gift - Ariana Hawkes Prey - Chloe Cole Santa Paws - Harmony Raines Bear Winter - Michele Bardsley A Dragon’s Gift - C. E. Black Andre - V. Vaughn
I haven’t had a chance to read all the books yet, but one of my favorites is A True Alpha Christmas by Alisa Woods. The story takes place after the last book in the True Alpha series. Mia is adjusting to shifter life and trying to balance her human upbringing with her new shifter lifestyle. She is stressing over introducing Lucas to her mother; in addition to not being married to Lucas.
I enjoyed this holiday glimpse of the True Alpha series. I love Mia and Lucas and appreciate hearing more of their story. I liked the cultural differences between Mia’s human and shifter sides. As a lot of cultures, they are different and very similar at the same time. A True Alpha Christmas is a short story that you can easily read in one sitting. It’s a great read to get you in the mood for the holidays.
I love anthologies. They provide you with books by authors you love and introduce you to authors you are not familiar with. Even if one story is unappealing, another will be great. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Bearly Christmas by Becca Fanning. 2*- This story is written at about a 4th grade level as far as vocabulary and sentence lengths go. When there's punctuation. The grade level reading is fine. Keeps it simple and makes for a quick read. However... The editing with this piece is so sorely lacking. It became a DNF at chapter 5. The premise is cute. Tye is the first Shifter in his Haven to go to college, let alone medical school, and now he is starting an internship. Melanie is a small-town human who is desperately trying to win her father's love and approval by becoming a doctor. She has been accepted to the same medical internship as Tye, and that's where I quit. The lack of editing just got to me.
Bear in Furry Armor by Emma Alisyn. 4*- Amberley is a hedgewitch who owns a bakery. She doesn't have much magic. Just enough to give her baked goods flavor. She has been crushing on Bear Shifter Jayson Conroy since 11th grade. Jayson has a handyman business, owns a home he built with Amberley in mind, and has been keeping an eye on her for the 8 years since high school. He decides to finally declare his intention to court her. Unfortunately a couple of things get in the way. This is a well written story with nicely developed characters. The plot is simple, but not so simple as to be boring. Very enjoyable in fact.
A Roaring Fire by Kim Faulks. 2 1/2 -3 * - this is apparently a follow-on to a series that I'm pretty sure I won't be reading if it's as slow and depressing as this story. I truly cannot assess this work. Any character development occurred in the earlier work so I couldn't really appreciate who the players are. Personally, I think that unless it can stand alone or the first in a series, it doesn't belong in an anthology.
Cowboy Bear's Christmas Surprise by Scarlett Grove. 2 1/2 - 3*- Mia Royce is on the run from a bad situation when she crashes her car into a tree on Connor Milton's ranch. He recognizes her as his fated mate. Unfortunately the wreck has caused amnesia and she can't remember anything besides her first name. She can't remember where she came from or where she's going. This story is written in a simple style with unchallenging vocabulary and sentence structure. The characters lack depth and the narrative could have used some tightening. It went on a little long and the ending was just too cliché.
Beary Merry Winter by Kate Kent. 3*- Anne Williamson has sworn off men after a series of asshat boyfriends, the latest of whom was screwing his landlady on the side. As far as Anne is concerned, men are good for only one thing. Making babies. And Ann really wants a baby. When she meets Zane Harlan, a sexy bear shifter new to town, she decides he's the perfect sperm donor. The story revolves around the relationship that develops between them. This is a repeat for me. I read it in a different anthology at some point. It isn't bad. The premise, while not unique, had a cute plot attached, and the characters are well developed and likable. The story, though, could have benefitted from more tension. The ending seemed hurried, almost as if the action was cut out. Maybe it was longer and had to be edited down to fit the parameters. Otherwise a good, average story.
Her Dragon's No Angel by Julia Mills. 3*- This is #10 in the Dragon Guard Series. Tomas Youngblood is a pure blood dragon who could be ruling his own clan, but chose to train as a Guardsman with The Golden Fire Clan. As a favor to his commander, he takes an artifact to Maddox, a reclusive blue dragon who is some kind of mystic, I think. On the way back he is grounded by a blizzard and takes shelter in a cave. Holly Winters, a Christmas Angel, is already set up there while she waits for instructions regarding her last mission, but she can't seem to make contact with her superiors. Once this last job is finished, she'll be able to seek her true mate. There are sparks - literally - between the two. Aside from the relationship growth, there's something odd they have to investigate. Okay, I (tried to) read some of the other collection and the grammar and usage were so bad that I DNF'd many of them. Or I skimmed, because the premise of the series is interesting. This story seems to have gained a relatively competent editor, so is better than the others I have (#1-7). However, and this is a big however, there is one thing in every book that distracted me so much it put me right out of the flow of the plot. In fact, I dare say it played a part in why I didn't complete many of the books, and why I didn't go beyond #7. It might be petty, but the use of the word "brethren" to refer to a single individual really pissed me off. A little strong, I know, but given that it took away any enjoyment I may have experienced, I think it justified. I would like to see these books with the correct usage. I might get #8-9. I gave this 3 stars because brethren used as singular wasn't used much, and it was a cute story. I will say that this novella can stand alone. There are references to characters from books earlier in the series, but nothing in this requires one to have read the others.
A True Alpha's Christmas by Alisa Woods. 3*- This novella is a sort of epilogue to the Shifters in Seattle duo, True Alpha and Dark Alpha. Are you going to read the other two books? Yeah? Then I can't say anything about this because...spoilers. Suffice to say, it's pretty well written and, except for Mia pulling some stupid, it was enjoyable. I gave it three stars because I haven't read the other two books, so I don't know how well it blends with them. If it can't stand alone, a part of a series shouldn't be included in an anthology like this.
The Cowbear's Christmas Shotgun Wedding by Liv Brywood. 4*- Another entry in Brywood's Curvy Bear Ranch world (the 3rd maybe?). Kate Wrangler has returned home after 10 years to clear out and sell her late father's ranch. She has a lot of baggage relating to her relationship with her dad. Logan Grant is one of the five sexy bear shifter brothers from next door at the the Curvy Bear Ranch B&B. He offers to help Kate get her house and land ready to sell. He has an ulterior motive. He wants a one night stand with her. But to Kate, Logan is the jerk who humiliated her in high school. The novella is about Kate and Logan working toward something more than one night of steamy sex, and Kate coming to terms wither past. There's also a villain who plays a part. The plot and characters are well developed, and it is well written. Even though this is part of a series, I have read the stories out of order and there's nothing in any that is absolutely dependent on reading the others.
Bear My Perfect Gift by Ariana Hawkes. 4*- Caleb is a bear Shifter who leaves his village on Stonybear Peak to find his mate. He decides to go to Green Fields, a 16 hour drive away, where his cousin lives, in hopes of finding a mate there. On the way, he sees Paige who is an abusive relationship with Kurt. He knows she's his mate so offers his assistance. She would have left Kurt already but he has isolated her away from her family 2000 miles away, and he has threatened to hurt her and her family if she leaves. Although the novella ends up being pretty passive - the authors tells what happens rather than shows it - the action to that point is stimulating enough. Caleb is a well drawn character who shows some depth. Paige isn't quite as interesting, at least as compared to him, but she's likable. Overall, a better than average story despite the relative inertial conclusion. Alrighty then. There's always something for me, yeah? In this case it's setting. Where the hell is this set? The author is British, but no point on Britain is 2000 miles from another. So, given the English (rather than American) words like puncture for flat and torch for flashlight I thought "oh, it must be Canada!" I mean, 2000 miles is less than 1/4 of the width of Canada. But, while the temperature in Dec/Jan would allow for the depth of snow described if it were in northern climes, Caleb mentions that the temperature in Green Fields (that 16 hour drive away from his starting point) is 60 degrees at present. And then there's Ravenna Lake which is described as being frozen enough for a few yards out to hold a car. The only Ravenna Lake I know of is in Nebraska. I know! I'm nitpicking! Maybe I'm too easily distracted. I just don't know why the author doesn't just anchor her stories in real places, or at least have her imagined points to make sense within the story. I mean, I've read books/stories with vampires in Toronto, a variety of shifters in Florida, Kodiaks in Alaska, even polar bears in the Caribbean (that one was just strange), so why doesn't Hawkes just identify a geographic point? For me? Please? :-)
Prey by Chloe Cole. 4*- @Amalie Baptista is on her way to photograph wild wolves and their habitat when she is attacked by a werewolf only to be saved by one. Liam Albrecht is the Alpha of the Pray Mountain pack. After saving her, he takes her home to recover, knowing she is a werewolf now too, and he has to explain what happened and how it will effect her. Aside from their instant attraction, interpack politics need to be addressed. This is a well written piece with interesting characters, though they could be a bit more dimensional. A greater length would have allowed further development, and that will surely happen as Prey is the first in a series.
Santa Paws by Harmony Raines. 4*- Dermot Walker is a bear Shifter who is ever hopeful of finding his fated mate before next Christmas. This Christmas he is scheduled to work as a paramedic. Vicky, a reindeer Shifter, came to Bear Bluff to get away from everything, because she has lost her Christmas spirit. Vicky and Dermot meet and realize that they are fated mates and together they look for What Vicky is missing. This is a cute little adult fairytale that requires more than the usual suspension of disbelief one needs with a Shifter romance. This is Christmas Bear Brothers Book #1. The other brothers' stories occur at the same time as Dermot's, and this is familiar enough that I'm pretty sure I read one of the others. Maybe the stories should be blended and put in one book (as opposed to one book that has a trilogy).
Bear Winter by Michele Bardsley. 3 1/2* - Hope Wheeler is a psychic who foresaw that her fiancé would die because of her, so she left him. Gabe Pearson is a bear Shifter who runs a security service with his brothers. He has spent the 3 months since Hope left trying to figure out why she wanted to break up with him. But now he needs her help finding a kidnapped child and she can't say no. This joint venture allows them to get reacquainted during the leadup to the story's climax. A well written story despite the characters' lack of communication and Hope's foray into stupid. The plot is interesting and the grammar and usage are refreshingly correct (for an ebook). It's just that it's so slow to get moving.
A Dragon's Gift by C. E. Black. 2* - Hannah Rhodes has always been in love with the boss, even when he was married. She is the proverbial self-effacing, obedient employee who will do anything for the virtual pat on the back from him. Not only is he gorgeous, he's kind and modest as well. Christmas Eve rolls around and everyone has left for their long weekend except Hannah is still there when Mr, Sorenson calls at 8pm to see if a file he needs for trial on Monday had arrived. He is going up to his cabin in the mountains where there is no cell service and he doesn't want to be disturbed. As soon as he hangs up she finds the fax and decides to take it to him. She's so scared she'll be fired! And she loves her job because she can work with the man she loves, even though she is pretty much in the employee-hands-off zone. Turns out he's been hot for Hannah, and her arrival allows them to take things to the next level. Actually, they skip the other levels to arrive at full-blown passion. The story is well written though it mostly focuses on the erotic elements. Not a very complex plot to get in the way of sex, you know? My problem with it is that Hannah goes from mousy and retiring to sex crazed. A complete 180 I couldn't appreciate. The ending is also pretty cliché, ergo a bit boring.
Andre by V. Vaughn. 4*- Nessa Harrison is a student at Bowdoin College, and "my end goal is to fall in love, get married, and have children." She basically wants to be a country club wife as a stay at home mom with a husband and children to care for. In short, she wants to be her mother. Well, not exactly, since Nessa is part of a set of triplets their mother raised on her own after their dad left her without benefit of marriage. Nessa wants to fall in love with a nice man with the same background as hers. Like Eric, who meets her criteria. But then she meets Andre Lindquist, a polar bear Shifter. He and his 3 brothers were orphaned as young teens and spent the next 10 years caring for themselves. He is the bassist in the band Nessa's sister Ginny plays keyboards for. Ginny talks Nessa into singing for the band as a temp to replace the singer who left. Andre claims they are mates, but even so, Nessa can choose not to accept the mate claim. This is the first in a 4 book series, and it is apparently an offshoot of an earlier series, because there's a couple of hints that something nefarious is going on. It is very well written with good grammar (for instance, l found only one place where there was a subjective versus objective error), and the characters have more depth than you'd expect in a novella. I would have preferred this as a full length book to show some angst as Nessa decides which man to choose. Also, the title is all wrong, because at no point is this from Andre's POV, and this title takes away any tension of not knowing which way Nessa will go for her HEA. Also, pet peeve here, but I really dislike present tense (I have DNF'd books for using this device. I would have done so with this story except that it was good enough that I barely noticed it).
So, to sum up my thoughts on this anthology, I'd say that it is high average, so I'm rounding up to 4 stars. Most of the writing is very good, and the sex scenes aren't so graphic as to make you cringe, but are well written and pretty much flow with the stories. There are only a couple of the works here that, in my opinion, are a waste of time. As a whole, I'd say you could read the book straight through, as I did (though in my case, with pauses to write reviews of each story) or read one story at a time, such as at bedtime or between other books. Overall, most of the stories are worth the time you spend (which is worth more than money).
I love Christmas stories and read them all year round, combined with PNR, one my favourite genres, this set is real treat.
An important note for Amazon US readers: This review will not appear as a verified purchase on the US site, even if I bought the book from Amazon, because I live in England I can only buy digital downloads (eBooks & Music) from Amazon UK.
I love Christmas stories and read them all year, but I especially love them when they come in the form of paranormal romances, one of my all-time favourite genres and there are quite a few authors I already read and love in this set. I haven't had time to read all of them yet, so my review is based on the two books I've read before, several times each, but this set promises to be a real treat when I get the time to just sit and read it.
1 - Bear in Furry Armor (Clan Conroy Brides, Book 5) - Emma Alisyn
I love Emma Alisyn's books and have bought quite a few of them from Amazon UK, including the first Clan Conroy book. Sadly, it's been a really rough year and I haven't had time to read it yet, but I've got all the Royal Bears and absolutely loved them so, based on past experience of Emma Alisyn's books, I think I have a sweet treat in store when I finally get the time to read this.
A baker yearning for her Bear in furry armor. A male ready to Claim his mate. The witch standing between their mate-bond.
2 - Bearly Christmas - Becca Fanning
I really enjoy Becca Fanning's books, have been reading them for years and I'm really looking forward to this story which has some of my favourite things in it - shifters, medicine, sizzle and the promise of a happily ever after - I can't wait.
Fresh out of med school, Bear Shifter Tye expected to face adversity in joining a top hospital residency program. But feisty little Melanie might be more competition than he can handle, and a terrible rumor about his past catches up with him. Will there be a Shifter Christmas Miracle?
3 - A Roaring Fire (A Zodiac Dragon Guardian Christmas Novella) - Kim Faulks
Kim Faulks is a fairly new author to me and although I've got a couple of her books from Amazon UK, I haven't had time to read them yet, so I have no idea what to expect from this one, but I'm really curious about the four female shifters and hoping against hope that this is about magic and not a relationship with multiple females to one male type story. I really don't like those.... at all. I'm trying my best not to succumb to preconceived ideas, but I have a really miniscule book budget these days and based on the blurb, I probably wouldn't have bought this if it wasn't in the boxset. I'll have to see what it's really about when I start reading it, but... fingers crossed.
Terror and heartache have descended on the Guardians. Victor, Dragon-born in the sign of Aquarius, feels this pain deeper than the frigid December winds. His brother Zadoc has returned bloodied, beaten and broken, and Victor is helpless to save him. Until he finds four female shifters hiding handmade dolls and carved wooden wolves, and he realizes with blinding clarity that he's the one who's been given a gift. An opportunity for his family to heal, an opportunity for his family to love— the gift of Christmas. This is a Christmas novella for all you die hard Zodiac Dragon fans that takes place between book 3, Cancer and book 4, Aries.
4 - Cowboy Bear's Christmas Surprise - Scarlett Grove
Although Scarlett Grove is a relatively new author to me, I've actually bought quite a few of her books from Amazon UK because I loved a story by her that I read in another boxset, wanted to read more and I'm looking forward to reading this one, when I get the time.
His mate has collided with his life -- but her past is a blank and her future is in danger. Can he save her?
Connor Milton has given up looking for his mate after years of searching. But when a woman crashes her car into a tree on his ranch not long before Christmas, he’s certain he’s finally found her. There’s one big problem--she doesn’t know who she is. Mia Royce can’t remember anything about her past or where she was going the night before. Connor seems like the perfect man, but how can she move forward with her life when she doesn’t know where she came from? When Mia finally accepts Connor as her mate, she remembers everything. But it’s too late--the bad men she was running away from that night have found her. Can her mate defend her, or is her past too dangerous to overcome?
5 - Beary Merry Winter (Shifter Seasons, Book 1) - Kate Kent - 4 Stars
I really enjoy Kate Kent's books and have read quite a few of them in the last couple of years. I'm not going to give spoilers but I loved this story when I first read it in a Christmas boxset I bought from Amazon UK in November last year and I enjoyed it just as much reading it again this year. This romance for the holiday season is short and sweet, with a ton of sizzle and features Zane, a musician werebear, and Anne, a jewellery store sales person, an assortment of wonderful characters, an x-rated ugly jumper/sweater, a baby making potion, a misunderstanding or two, a couple of seriously nosey mothers. a terrific BFF and a happily ever after.
Hot ‘n hunky playboy Zane Harlan’s animal is raging when he runs into curvy Anne Williamson for the second time that day at an ugly Christmas sweater party. Zane sees Anne and knows exactly what he wants. But quiet and conservative Anne has an agenda of her own. She wants a baby and she is willing to do whatever it takes to get one, even acting totally out of character. Mix lust and desire with a little magic potion and you have a recipe for hot loving. The chemistry between the pair is off the charts but can the pair reconcile their differences?
6 - Her Dragon's No Angel (Dragon Guard Series, Book 10) - Julia Mills
I've got a lot of books by this author and haven't been disappointed, so although I haven't had time to read this one yet, I have no doubt I'll love it as much as I love her other books.
There Are No Coincidences. The Universe Does Not Make Mistakes. Fate Will Not Be Denied.
Take one snowbound dragon, combine with one Christmas Angel, throw in a healthy dose of an attraction only the Universe could have conjured and top with the largest blizzard in a hundred years. Now sit back and enjoy the show! This one's gonna be a bumpy ride! Fate Will Not Be Denied but Heaven’s Got a Plan of Its Own!
7 - A True Alpha Christmas (Shifters in Seattle, Book 3) - Alisa Woods
I've got quite a few stories by this author, mostly in other boxsets, thoroughly enjoyed reading them and on the strength of what I'd already read, I did buy the first book in this series, as well as this book (did I mention I'm addicted to Christmas stories?), and the first two books in both the True Alpha and the Dark Alpha series' as stand alones from Amazon UK, but it's been a very difficult year and I haven't had the time to read any of them yet. I'll have to get the second book and, as recommended by the author, read them first, before I start on this one, so.... hopefully in the new year.
Christmas is a magical time… and a hard time to keep secrets. Mia is your everyday college girl, trying to earn her business degree— and a shifter who’s long hidden her identity from everyone, including her mother, who believes shifter is synonymous with criminal. Six months ago, sexy and powerful alpha-male Lucas rescued her in an alley and claimed her for his mate. Now Mia’s heart belongs to Lucas, and everyone in the world of shifters understands the magic of their mating has bonded them for life. But in the human world, there’s no wedding ring on her finger to show for it. With Christmas looming, Mia’s mother wants to finally meet Mia’s mysterious and high-powered live-in lover. With her human and shifter lives about to irrevocably collide, Mia fears there will be nothing but broken hearts in the end. A True Alpha Christmas (Shifters of Seattle 3) is an “after story” novella with HEA, approximately 80 pages or 20,000 words, best enjoyed after reading True Alpha and Dark Alpha. It contains scorching hot shifters— only readers over 18 should dive into the steamy world of Shifters in Seattle.
8 - The Cowbear's Christmas Shotgun Wedding - Liv Brywood
I've got quite a few books by this author, mostly in other boxsets I got from Amazon UK and enjoyed them so although I haven't read this one yet, I'm looking forward to it, when I have the time to just sit and read.
For years, Kate Wrangler refused to return to her family's ranch in the small town of West Yellowstone. But after receiving a call that her good-for-nothing father finally dropped dead, she's obligated to sell the decrepit property. As if things couldn't get any worse, Logan Grant, the sexy heart-breaker who ruined her life, is hanging around the barn when she arrives. She's only planning on staying long enough to sell the ranch. He can try all he wants, but Kate's never going to fall for his heated glances and sultry kisses. Cowboy bear shifter Logan Grant takes one look at Kate's curvy figure and makes it his mission to help her repair the ranch— and the bond between them. She still hates him, but that's not going to stop him from claiming her as his mate. When he finds out she hasn't shifted in over a decade, his bear decides to show her what it means to be feral. He only has one week to steal her heart, but with the magic of Christmas on his side, he's ready to do whatever it takes to claim his fated mate.
9 - Bear My Perfect Gift - Ariana Hawkes
I absolutely love this author and I'm totally addicted to her Shiftr: Swipe Left for Love series, all of which I bought from Amazon UK, so I'm really looking forward to reading this, when I have time.
Caleb Ridgeman has endured one too many lonely winters up on Stonybear Peak. As much as the thought of leaving his clan and beloved home behind breaks his heart, he knows deep down that he's never going to find his mate there. One freezing-cold, freezing-cold, snowy day after Christmas, he sets off on a cross-country trip to the shifter town of Green Fields, hoping to find his perfect match. Paige Buchanan is driving back from visiting her folks for the holidays with her abusive werewolf boyfriend, Kurt. She’s just about at breaking point when they stop at a motel overnight, but a handsome stranger appears out of nowhere and offers her an opportunity to escape. Both Caleb and Paige feel a powerful connection, but can she trust him enough to put her life in his hands, and will he be able to keep her and himself safe from the dangerous wolf?
10 - Prey - Chloe Cole
I read my first story by this author in a Christmas boxset I got from Amazon UK a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. I've bought a lot of her books since then and I'm really looking forward to reading this one.
When a gorgeous stranger rescues her from a vicious wolf attack, nature photographer Amalie Baptista can’t seem to fight the attraction to her savior. What she doesn't know is that giving in to him could mean giving up life as she knows it... Alpha male Liam Albrecht is breaking every rule for the curvy, captivating Amalie, risking his place within the pack and his own life to protect her. As discord among the clans reaches a fever pitch, he must find a way to save her from the monsters among them.
11 - Santa Paws (Christmas Bear Brothers, Book 1) - Harmony Raines
I love Harmony Raines' books and have bought quite a few of them from Amazon UK over the last couple of years, including a stand alone copy of this one, but it's quite long and I haven't had time to read it yet but I'm sure I'll love it when I do.
All Dermot wants for Christmas is a mate. Because a mate will lead to cubs, and a family to spend the holidays with. But since Dermot, a paramedic, hasn't met his special lady yet, he agrees, as he always does, to work Christmas so others can enjoy time with their families. However, fate is about to step in and give him just what he needs. Vicky is a reindeer shifter who has lost her Christmas spirit. Can Dermot help her find it before it's too late? Too late for what? You'll have to read Santa Paws to find out...
12 - Bear Winter (Pack Rules, Book 5)- Michele Bardsley
I got hooked on Michele Bardsley's books a few years ago after reading the first Pearson Security story in another Christmas boxset I bought from Amazon UK and I thoroughly enjoy reading her wonderful stories. I'm really looking forward to this one and I'm sure it will be just as good as the many others I've read since then..
After a previous client of Pearson Security is nearly killed and her child kidnapped, bear shifter Gabe Pearson has no choice but to ask psychic and ex-fiance Hope Wheeler for help. Hope knows she can never be with the man who holds her heart, but she can’t say no to his request to rescue a kid from his vicious, abusive father. Together, they will fight through vicious snowstorms, murderous shifters, and grievous emotional wounds to save the life of a little boy--and each other.
13 - A Dragon's Gift - C.E. Black
Although I've got a few books by this author, they're all in boxsets and I haven't read any of them yet, so I have no idea what to expect but the blurb has really got me going and I'm looking forward to reading it.
It’s Christmas Eve and Hannah Rhodes prefers to spend the holidays alone. Well, that’s not exactly true. Her deepest desire, is to spend Christmas in the arms of the man she loves. He’s kind, considerate and handsome... Almost too good to be true. Only, Kye Sorensen is her boss and completely off limits. Though they have a friendly and professional working relationship, Kye has kept Hannah at arm's length for years. His secret is too profound, and to protect Hannah, he has to keep his distance. Though one mistake brings Hannah where he least expects to find her, and she’s brought her own secret. A gift, neither thought existed.
14 - Andre (Rocked by the Bear, Book 1) - V. Vaughn - 5 Stars
When serious college student Nessa Harrison agrees to sing in her sister’s band she had no intention of getting involved with Andre, the impossibly tall, blond bass player that takes broody to a whole new level. But with the very first song they discover their voices are magic and Nessa falls hard when she find’s Andre’s touch is too. There’s only one problem - he’s not human. Andre Lindquist knew Nessa was his true mate the first night they met. Reintroduced to the human world after years in the wild his communication skills are rusty, fortunately, his music is not. When Nessa helps him write the song of their hearts, they must decide if their love is more than beautiful music.
This terrific paranormal romance had me hooked from fraught beginning to happily ever after end. I absolutely loved it.
I love V. Vaughn's books and this entry into the ongoing saga of the Le Roux and De Rozier clans was the best to date when I originally read it at the beginning of 2016. I absolutely loved reading this first book in what was then her brand new Rocked by the Bear series. 'Andre' also kicked off the multi-author Mating Fever Collection of stand alone paranormal romances that took over from the Mating Season Collection.
Triplets Nessa, Ginni and Tori are part grizzly bear, although the only one who knows that is Tori. They were called to mate by the Le Roux clan, but only Tori answered, and now she's on the campus of Bowdoin College to tell her sisters all about it. They've all been having hot dreams about a big guy who becomes a bear for a couple of years now and Ginni is fine with the idea, but Nessa has a fit. She's a snob who wants to be part of the twin set and country club brigade, not a part bear freak. But she's pulled up short on the way to a band rehearsal when Ginni is so disgusted by her attitude towards Andre that she can barely talk to her, so Nessa gives her life a good coat of looking at and finds she doesn't like what she sees.
Polar bear shifters Andre Lindquist and his brothers have been sent to work security at Bowdoin College because a rogue bear clan, the La Verdiers, have been causing a lot of trouble and are a serious danger to the female students. Having spent ten years in bear form just to survive, his communication skills are a little rusty when he first meets Nessa on the night that Tori is there, and knows Nessa is his true mate. She repeatedly hurts him and fights it all the way, but they have common ground in their shared love of music. A Christmas revelation causes her to re-evaulate what's important and a trip to spend New Year with Tori and Keith also brings a happily ever after for Andre and Nessa.
I absolutely loved this paranormal romance about true mates Andre and Nessa. Andre is really sweet and over the course of the book Nessa starts to see the kind, generous, loving and very forgiving person he is as well as the kind of nasty, shallow person she's become. Having something of an epiphany, she realises it isn't the lifestyle they live, and to which she aspires, that has brought happiness to her mother and stepfather, it's the love they have for each other. Although this book is connected to Called by the Bear and Tempted by the Bear which are serials, this is a complete stand alone story with a happily ever after and no cliff-hangers.

REVIEW This is a great deal for a shifter box set with so many wonderful authors. I am however leaving my review for: Her Dragon's No Angel (Dragon Guards #11) by Julia Mills
This is Guardsman Tomas' story. Tomas is a rare dragon because he is bred from two dragons. Just days before Christmas he is tasked with delivering the stone that was found when they rescued Drago. A massive snowstorm has Tomas stopping on the way back home and he finds himself in what he thinks is an abandoned cave but he gets a shock. Not empty and it has the one thing his soul and dragon desire. Holly is a snow angel who cannot go back home until she completes her mission although she has no idea what her mission is. She was told one day she would have a mate and she has always thought it would be another angel. Well what you think and what really is are two different things. Happy Howling Holidays - Shifters in Love: Romance Collection
This set has multiple authors to try and they were excellent reads!
A Roaring Fire by Kim Faulks Wolves keep showing up..space and money are getting tight! To make matters worse Christmas is almost upon them.......what to do?? As the whole family gets together it doesn't take much for someone to snap and cause an accident that destroys Christmas for the pups. With a well placed phone call to the right person help is on the way!
Beary Merry Winter by Kate Kent A bear shifter walks into a jewelry store looking for a ring for him mom and also got an eyeful of Anne..he loved what he saw! Anne has sworn off men because of her ex! Unfortunately fate plays her part in bringing Anne and Zane together only to have it almost destroyed by a misunderstanding with a magic potion aka 'Blue Water'.
A Dragon's Gift by C.E. Black Hannah likes her boss Kye and will do anything for him..that includes taking very important papers to his cabin in the mountains in the snow. Hannah runs out of gas before reaching the cabin so she decides to walk instead of freezing in her car and that's when she meets the dragon!
A great selection of stories about hot shifters and their mates, perfect for dipping into on a cold evening in the run up to Christmas.
I already knew and loved most of the authors, but was pleased to discover some new to me authors.
I thoroughly enjoyed all the stories (bar one) as they were sweet and humorous and fitted the season well.
The one exception was a story that obviously continued a series that I hadn't read. I felt lost as I didn't know the characters or the back story, and then it ended on a cliffhanger...not good! Because of this I only gave 4* and not the 5* the rest of the stories deserved.
EMMA ALISYN - BEAR IN FURRY ARMOR Whilst I really enjoyed this book and how Amberely and Jayson earned their HEA I preferred Jayson over weak Amberely and how she did not stand up to her mother trying to separate them by poison and magic. I cannot get over the evil mother, who would do that to their only child and Amberely allows her to stay so she can be near any future grandchildren. I read and understood the single mother angle but that had only been for a few years not Amberely’s whole life. The fact she denigrated Amberely’s profession as well was just too much. Negative people in your life are not needed. Jayson had wanted Amberely as his mate for years but knew he needed to be able to provide for his mate and any cubs they may have. I think he should have made his move years previously. BECCA FANNING - BEARLY CHRISTMAS Not keen on this shifter world, too bigoted and unhappy. I also found Melanie selfish and unlikeable. She is too busy trying to prove her a**hole of a father wrong that she treats Tye like dirt, blowing hot and cold. At the end we then have a miraculous change of heart from her father and all is forgiven. Bah Humbug. Tye deserved someone so much better and I hated that he gave up his internship but was glad he ended up happy working for a small family practise. Badly needed to be proof read for lots of silly mistakes that should not have made it through to a final edit. KIM FAULKS - A ROARING FIRE - ZODIAC DRAGON GUARDIAN NOVELLA Unless you have read this series it does not make a lot of sense. SCARLETT GROVE - COWBOY BEAR'S CHRISTMAS SURPRISE - FATE MOUNTIAN SHIFTERS 13 I really enjoyed this read but I did find the reason Mia was running a bit unusual. Connor has been on Mate.com since the beginning and is slowly losing hope after 6 years. Constantly being nagged by his mother to get a mate and have cubs does not help him or his bear either. He refuses to just settle and has accepted he may never find his mate but then a car crashes into a tree on his property. When he goes to help the driver he finds his mate. Mia is running for her very life as she owes some very bad people money and they want to put her into their brothel to work of her debt. Her reasons for borrowing the money are good but the stupidity of doing this is huge. When she comes to in the hospital she has no memory other than her first name. Connor is a real sweetie, he loves his life running the family ranch and would just love to find his mate and have some cubs running around. Not knowing who Mia is or if she has someone looking for her makes Connors life doubly hard as he cannot act on his instincts to claim her. Mia and Connor agree to mate even not knowing but once Mia is marked her memory comes back just as the bad guys turn up. I somehow do not think Mia’s debt will just be forgotten so easily and that only 3 men made up the Vendetti family. A very lovely ending. KATE KENT - BEARY MERRY WINTER Okay but I found the dishonesty annoying and the carry on at the end silly. JULIA MILLS - HER DRAGON'S NO ANGEL - DRAGON GUARDS 11 I have been a fan of this series for ages but have lapsed recently. Reading this book in a box set has whetted my appetite again so I am going to start from the beginning and read and review them all. Loved this short story and the Christmas theme going through it. We have another strong woman in Holly to join the Dragon Guards family and I loved that Holly has powers of her own. The humour and banter was great as usual. Sometimes these books are a little darker and bad things are going on but this was just a nice little Christmas feel good story to add to the eclectic mix that is the Dragon Guards series. And of course Tomas gets his mate and a HEA. ALISA WOODS - A TRUE ALPHA CHRISTMAS You need to have read the previous books to get into this. LIV BRYWOOD - THE COWBEAR'S CHRISTMAS SHOTGUN WEDDING This was an okay read but just a bit too simplified for my taste. Logan had been a bully to Kate at high school causing her to shift on Prom night and nearly kill her best friend. 10 years have passed and Logan has matured but he is a one night stand guy. Kate has never shifted since that night as it totally traumatised her. Thanks to the neglect and abuse of her alcoholic father and the tormenting from Logan and others in school has never known happiness. She left town at 16 and has only returned to clear her fathers’ things out and sell the ranch. Logan just wanted to bed Kate until her found out she was a virgin and wasn’t really remorseful at all and Kate was just so forgiving of all Logan had done when they were younger. Even saying her shifting and hurting her friend was not his fault. Just too simplistic for me. ARIANA HAWKES - BEAR MY PERFECT GIFT - CHRISTMAS BEAR 3 Not my perfect read. The behaviour in this book makes it a total turn off. Caleb is lonely and wants a mate and cubs so decides to go out and look for her but before he leaves on his search, he has sex with his friend Rita. That did not endear me to him at all. Then Caleb meets his mate in a diner but she is a doormat who is staying in an abusive relationship with a wolf shifter. Sorry I just had no respect for Paige. I don’t care if Kurt threatened her family, grow some balls. She runs off with Caleb, then when Kurt kidnaps her, stays quiet instead of yelling her head off so Caleb can save her and fight Kurt off. When Caleb does finally fight and kill Kurt, they dispose of his body and car in a frozen lake and it is all sunshine and drug money. So not what I expect from this author. Really didn’t like Paige and whilst Caleb could have been better he lumped himself in with Paige with his actions. Such a pity as books 1 and 2 were great Christmas stories. Bonus book included is SHIFTR SWIPE LEFT FOR LOVE 3 - MELISSA. I have read and reviewed this book previously. CHLOE COLE - PREY Had read this before and I think the series. All around sad and I do not like this shifter world where they kill humans if they find out about shifters. Do not like the other wolf packs either. Constant upheaval and stress. HARMONY RAINES - SANTA PAWS - CHRISTMAS BEAR BROTHERS 3 4.5 stars. This was such a great read. I love Christmas, marry that up with 3 hot shifter brothers pinning for their mates to show up and I am in heaven. Dermot is a paramedic who is lonely and just wanting his mate to show up. Vicky is a special Christmas reindeer who has lost her joy in the season due to all the bad news in the world and believes she cannot do her job anymore. She is hiding out in Bear Bluffs. It is instant mate bond lust at first sight but Vicky is still depressed. What follows is a fast trip to the north pole with a bit of fighting on the way. With Dermot helping and supporting her, Vicky finds her Christmas spirit once again when she reaches the North Pole and is able to do her job. Loved the ending of this book. All three brothers find their mates on the same day and the stories all run concurrently to spin off to three different books in this series. MICHELE BARDSLEY - BEAR WINTER I was enjoying this story until Hope acted stupid and went off on her own. I never understand some peoples thinking. Instead of telling Gabe and taking precautions she led him straight to that vision and ended up getting shot herself. At least Gabriel had the sense to know and understand that precautions could be taken. C E BLACK - A DRAGON'S GIFT An okay read but I didn’t like the fact Kye said he had wanted Hannah since he first met her even though he was married. Kye had made sure he kept her around even though he knew they could never have a relationship. Hannah had been a doormat secretary just to be near Kye because she was in love with him. Pathetic. How was she ever going to have a life like that. Once divorced, Kye still ignored her as she was only human and he only had sex with Hannah once she turned up on his property as his dragon claimed her. When he realised she had a dragons true mate mark he just claimed her without asking her if that is what she wanted. Apologising and asking after the fact was a bit moot. V VAUGHN - ANDRE Not a fan of this authors writing style so will not be reading this book.

Black #4Stars☆☆☆☆ For a short little Christmas Story it carries a powerful punch. WHAM !!!! It's Christmas Eve, Hannah Rhodes is the secretary for Sorensen and Associates she is working late but than that was nothing new. There was no one at home so she always worked late. It also didn't help she was in love with her boss for years and he didn't even know she existed much less love her. Since Kye Sorensen was divorced last year, he decided to spend Christmas Eve alone at his cabin, besides the women he wanted was off limits to him. Consequently he was hoping to get the paper work he needed for his case on Monday. So why not work right? No one was around for him right? ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Title: Andre: Mating Fever Series: Rocked By The Bear Book 1 Author: V. Vaughn #5Stars☆☆☆☆☆ Woooooo Ms. V always, always never let's you down. This book is one the reasons why, I definitely recommend this book is a MUST READ. I'm sure everyone remembers Keith and Tori from the last book. Tori is one of triplets, with her sister's going Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Tori went to asked the girls if they are still having sex dreams and a bear, since they've all three have been dreaming for two years now. Trying to explain to her sisters about her dreams and bears, of course neither Harrison girl's Ginny or Nessa short for Vanessa, believed her. So Tori showed them. Denial was easy instead of truth. Andre Lindquist and his four brothers, were polar bears. They were sent by the LeRoux Clan to do surveillance at the college cause of a rogue clan of Werebears causing trouble. Andre had two jobs, singing in Ginny's band and security guard for the college. As a guard Andre walked Nessa to her dorm, it was then that he knew.... Mate. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Title: Cowboy Bear's Christmas Surprise Author: Scarlett Grove #5Stars☆☆☆☆☆ Awwwww I'm so glad I got to spend Christmas on Fate Mountain right now and I just need to know what's going to happen next. I wonder will Ms Scarlett's next book be at Fate Mountain guess we will know when her next book comes out. Mia Royce was running for her life, she had to get away, get away fast there was no way she was going to let these men do what they wanted to do to her. So she drove and drove ending up at Fate Mountain. Her car was climbing on the freeway, the roads were getting worse all of a sudden a big tree came at her, and she blacked out. Connor Milton is a Bear Shifter and a Rancher. It was hard work for one person but at the end of the day it was rewarding. He has been hoping for years now to find his mate and no one has turned up. The way Connor saw it was either he found his fated mate or it was nothing at all. Who knew his Fated Mate would crash right into his tree. I almost forgot to ask, Do you like Gingerbread Cookies? ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Title: A True Alpha Christmas Series: Shifters in Seattle #3 Author: Alisa Woods #5Stars☆☆☆☆☆ I really enjoyed this book is another story of Lucas and Mia. Every book to me seems a little bit better than the first but then I got to this series, believe me when I say Clan Conroy Brides is such a phenomenal, fantastic, deliciously sweet and not by the twirl of a finger, yes it is just great. Amberley Levinson: aka: Stormy is a weak hedgewitch that owns a bakery. She loves making cupcakes any kind of cupcakes you name it, she makes it, she tries different recipes all the time. Jayson Conroy is a Bear Shifter and is a jack of all trades anything broken he can fix it, even do landscaping, he can just about do anything. So he built a house with someone in mind but he knew he was going to face problems. Can he handle them? ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Title: Bear My Perfect Gift Series: Christmas Bear Shifter Book 3 Author: Ariana Hawkes #5Stars☆☆☆☆☆ I really love and enjoy all Christmas Stories and this is just another one of them. Ms. Arianna 's characters mix together like whip cream and pumpkin pie, can't have one without the other and it has to be RediWhip if you read this little story you'll understand perfectly. Caleb Ridgeman is a Bear Shifter that's been looking for his mate forever. He felt that he wasn't finding his mate on Stonybear Peak so he decided to go and look for his mate by his cousin at shifter town in Green Field. He didn't want to leave his clan, he didn't want to leave his cabin but he needed to find his mate. Traveling for a long time Caleb decided to stop at a motel overnight, while dinning he smelt a delicious smell and it wasn't his steak. Paige Buchanan is driving back home after the holidays with family. She had finally told her best friend about her cruel abusive boyfriend. It was time to leave him and her friend said just the right things. She decided to leave him after a month or so. On the trip home he had become more foul and cruel when she was given a note that would help her to run. Could she do it, could she escape this mangy dog. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Bear in Furry Armor by Emaa Alisyn: Amberly and Jayson have had feelings for each other since high school, but because of her being from a line of witches and him a shifter, she tries to stay away from him so he is not putin danger. Jayson decides he has had enough and starts to persue her anyways. How will Amberly's mother take it? Will their relationship be able to overcome the problems in their way? ~I personally loved this story and will be going back to read the others in the series. I love shifter/witch love stories where its a taboo thing! Can't wait to read more from this author.

Bear Winter by Michele Bardsley- Hope left Gabe to keep him alive after visions and nightmares showed him dying because of her, but when Gabe needs help locating one of his protectees he comes to her. Will she be able to save Gabe? Will he let her push him away a second time when the reason comes out that she did in the first place? ~Loved how Hope wanted to protect him at the cost of her own heart and loved how Gabe stood by her and refused to let her give him up! Great story!
A Dragon's Gift by CE Black- Hannah has been in love with her boss for years not knowing he was in love with her also, but he stayed away thinking she couldn't accept his other half. When some paperwork that he needs immediately is faxed into the office she decides to take it up to him at his cabin and comes face to face with his dragon. Will she be able to accept him as he is? Will he accept that she is there to stay? ~Great boss/secretary/shifter romance. Can't wait to read more from this author!
Andre by V. Vaughn- Nessa is a college student who agrees to sing with her sister in their band when the lead singer leaves to be with her boyfriend. When Nessa's sister comes to visit and drops the bomb that they are half bear shifter, how will she react? Andre is one of the singers in the band and Nessa's mate. Will she admit to herself the feelings that she has for him or push him away all together? ~Big fan of V. Vaughn and this was a great story! I could understand how Nessa would react like she did, even if I did want to strangle her at times and I felt for Andre when he had no clue which way she was going to go with her decision!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Bear in Furry Armor - Emma Alisyn Hedgewitch Amberely was raised to accept she would only marry a human or warlock however she gave her heart years ago to bear shifter Jayson Conroy. Jayson has had a secret crush for Amberely for years too and has decided the time is right to claim her as his mate no matter what her shifter hating mother says or does.
This is a great novella that I loved from start to finish. It definitely shows that true love can and will conquer all.
Bearly Christmas - Becca Fanning Bear shifter Tye is fresh out of med school and expected to join a residency program with a top hospital. Melanie is the same as Type but also going against her father's expectations which is for her to settle down now and be a wife and homemaker. After a bad start where Tye knocks into her and covers her with coffee will they ever recover from that bad start?
I loved this story. It was nice to see a story showing the prejudice between humans and shifters and how that can affect the shifters. A well written story of love at Christmas time.
A Roaring Fire - Kim Faulks Victor is Dragon-born within the sign of Aquarius and is feeling heartache and helpless after his brother Zadoc returns bloodied and beaten. Then he finds four female shifters hiding handmade dolls and carved wooden wolves.
A lovely Christmas story that is sure to warm your heart.
Cowboy Bear’s Christmas Surprise - Scarlett Grove Connor Milton has given up searching for his mate until he meets Mia Royce when she crashes her car into a tree on his ranch - with just one problem - she doesn't remember who she is. Then when she remembers who she is and accepts him as her mate she also remembers the bad men she was running from. Can Connor defend her or will he lose this one shot at happiness?
A lovely story of happiness for Christmas that leaves you with a warm glow.
Beary Merry Winter - Kate Kent Bear shifter Zane Harlan is raging with lust when he meets Anne Williamson at an ugly Christmas sweater party. Anne is only interested in having a baby and will do anything to have one. Can they reconcile their differences?
A lovely story of misunderstandings and making it turn out ok in the end.
Her Dragon’s No Angel - Julia Mills Tomas Youngblood is a dragon and currently snowbound. He takes refuge in a cave and find it stocked with supplies. He then finds another person taking shelter there - Holly the Christmas Angel. They are trapped as the largest blizzard for a hundred years rages. Can they cope with the attraction they feel for each other?
This was a sweet love story that was very enjoyable.
A True Alpha Christmas - Alisa Woods Mia is at college studying for a business degree. She is also trying to hide the fact that she is a shifter from everyone (including her Mum) as 6 months ago Lucas rescued her in an alley and claimed her for his mate, Mia's heart belongs to Lucas but in the human world she doesn't have a wedding ring and her mother wants to know why. How will things turn out when these two worlds collide?
A lovely story with romance, crossed wires, matchmaking and love. Makes you feel all gooey at the end.
The Cowbear’s Christmas Shotgun Wedding - Liv Brywood Kate Wrangler has avoided her family's ranch in West Yellowstone but has to return when her father dies in order to sell the run down property. Cowboy bear shifter Logan Grant is the heartbreaker who ruined her life and she is determined not to fall for him and his kisses ever again. Logan decides he will help her to restore the ranch but also wants to restore the bond that used to exist between them. He is also determined to claim her as his fated mate.
A good old fashioned love story with crossed lines, danger and pride. I liked the story and it had a nice Christmassy ending.
Bear My Perfect Gift - Ariana Hawkes Caleb Ridgeman lives on Stonybear Peak bu leaves there to go find a mate in the shifter town of Green Fields. Paige Buchanan is travelling back from visiting her parents with her abusive boyfriend Kurt when they stop at a motel overnight when Caleb (who is a stranger to her) offers an escape. Can Caleb keep them both safe from Kurt?
That Kurt was a nasty piece of work so I was definitely pulling for Caleb and Paige. A nice story which was nicely told and well written.
Prey - Chloe Cole Amalie Baptista is a nature photographer and is saved by a stranger (Liam Albrecht) from a wolf attack. Now Alpha Liam wants her and may have to risk everything to have her.
Nice plot of a rescue against the "rules" when a werewolf meets their mate being attacked, and the political fallout afterwards. It was an peasant little story.
Santa Paws - Harmony Raines Dermot is a Paramedic and has agreed to work this Christmas so others can spend time with their family. All he really wants is a mate so he can have his own family to spend time with. Vicky is a reindeer shifter with absolutely no Christmas spirit - can Dermot help her find it?
It's a cute story but very corny. I guess it's purpose is to get you more into the Christmas spirit which it did a bit. Not the best story in this anthology for sure.
Bear Winter - Michele Bardsley Bear shifter Gabe Pearson was engaged to Hope Wheeler but after visions of his death where she is there she brakes it off with him. Unfortunately he later has to ask Hope for help in finding a mother and her kidnapped child so they can save them from the abusive ex-husband/father. Will they find the boy and his mother, and maybe themselves at the same time?
A lovely story with some drama mixed in with love showing that you can conquer most things if only you talk to each other and try. Nicely written and quite enjoyable.
A Dragon’s Gift - C. E. Black Hannah Rhodes has to spend the holidays alone as she can't spend it in the arms of the man she loves. Kye Sorensen is Hannah's boss and has kept her at arms length for years. A mistake puts her where he never expected to see her - maybe things might work out well?
I loved story. A great story of love and acceptance. Well written and enjoyable to read.
Andre - V. Vaughn Nessa Harrison agrees to sing in her sister's band but discovers that even though she has no intention of getting involved her voice harmonises perfectly with Andre and his touch does things to her - however he is not a human. Andre Lindquist recognises that Nessa is his true mate but he has bad communication skills due to years in the wild. His music is still great and when they write a song together they need to decide if it is a lot more than just a song but a song from their hearts.
This was a lovely story and makes you feel all warm inside.
A holiday set to keep you entertained throughout the season.
ANDRE (Rocked by the Bear, #1) by V. Vaughn; Nessa, born a triplet is going to college and rooming with her sister Ginny. When the third sister Tori shows up in her dorm room with the secret that she is a werebear, Alpha to her clan, and is mated to one Nessa is horrified; just the thought of a werebear freaks her out. The college has been having some night time issues, and girls are required to be escorted to their dorms by a security guard. Andre escorts Nessa to her dorm one evening and she is immediately attracted to him. Nessa has agreed to sing in Ginny's band. Seeing Andre at rehearsal disturbs her, but when they sing together soul touching warmth fills the air. Andre knows Nessa is his true mate and hopes he can capture her heart forever.
The story is fast paced and well written. The fusion of authenticity and fantasy make this a most impressive story. The author does not disappoint in giving readers a story that gets you hooked from start to finish. The back stories are fascinating and the characters come alive with the fabulous dialogue, breathtaking scene descriptions, and a most intriguing plot. The chemistry between Nessa and Andre is magical, and their romance sizzles to a slow passionate burn. I relished this story, a most exciting read. If you treasure shifter romance this is a terrific book for your library. {This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy}. Without reservation, I recommend this book.
So far I have only read V. Vaughn's contribution to this set. I had read it when it was previously released and again. i love it even more this go around. Luke needed to get away and really just find himself. I know this because I have read books where he was a character in it before. Didn't like him much then but he redeemed himself here. Holly thinks she will never find her mate. She is a cougar... in more ways than one, haha. Luke is not only new to town, but he is a bear. See an issue here? I didn't but the others in Holly's clan do. I did not put this story down and loved the push and pull between these two. I loved how they find a solution to their.. ummmmm... problem.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book but look forward to reading the rest of the set as there are so many amazing authors in it.
This is a wonderful collection of stories and at a wonderful price. You can't go wrong with this great author line up. This set includes some of my absolute favorite authors! I volunteered to read this book. I haven't had a chance to read all the stories yet, but here is a sample of one the great stories you will find in this amazing collection:
A True Alpha Christmas by Alisa Woods
It's nice to see a follow-up story as you often don't get that in romance books. Mia and Lucas are a good match and it's sweet to see them navigate life together. It's great to see Lev find happiness as well. This was a great quick read, that kept me on my toes.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I have this book 4 stars because most of the books I had read before. I got this set through Kindle Unlimited so I'm glad I didn't pay for it. Out of the 14 books in this box set I already read 8 of them so most I skipped over and a few I reread. I honestly got this because I thought it would be all new book. I think this is a good set for the holidays if you haven't read most of the authors but I'm someone who reads an author I like books the week it comes out. Some of the books in this set came out months ago maybe even earlier this year. I would still recommend it but I suggest going through the titles first.
Andre- A werebear heritage she doesn't want, and a man she isn't that interested in or is she? Vanessa aka Nessa is a college student and one of the triplets of her family. With a test coming upon her and Tori coming over to visit and show her a heritage she doesn't even want. What's a girl to do? Now another friend of hers wants her to help out with her band Second Sound because their lead singer took off. Can she sing for them and survive,? And why is it her sercurity guard is in the band? And what this electricity between them?
Kiss of an Angel I love this author! I've read all of the Fallen Immortals and each one just got better. This is a spin off series called Fallen Angels. It is just as good, and more hot than I thought it would be. Nice surprise! In this one, Rebecca isn't living, just going through the motions. Especially around the holidays, life isn't in the cards for her. When she is attached by a vampire, Cassiel jumps into action. His life kiss finally had her living again. Was it all a dream?
Wow, I love buying these group author romance collections! I have read some amazing, light hearted romance, some angsty, gritty romance and even a bit of suspenseful romance. I have found some amazing new authors to read and enjoy and have already one-clicked a whole bunch of new books! Thank you V. Vaughn and Harmony Raines for all the amazing Shifter Love. I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of authors, can’t wait for more!
I love finding new series & authors to read, especially when this happens at such s great price. All of the books in this set are well written and imaginative. I was entertained for hours at a time, & the excellence will continue as I read the other books by these writers.
Some real goodies by some of my favorite romance authors.
For a box set by multiple authors, it was pretty good, some stories were very good, and a couple need major intervention by a proofreader even though the story itself is sound. Clean those up and this will be an excellent collection.
Can't get enough of shifters? This Holiday bundle is a sure way to light a fire. Each of the stories in this book leads to another book of a series by each author. So, I know you like to read as much as me, grab a copy and cuddle up on the couch, and start reading.
A great bundle of books for a great price. Each book is filled with hot alpha and there mates - no matter what type of Shifter is your favorite this is for you.
I really enjoyed these short stories, very entertaining. Imaginative and great characters. My favorite was Santa Paws. Would really enjoy longer versions.
This is a large set of great shifter stories. Most of them were new to me. There were some great editions to series I am already reading which I really enjoyed. The great thing is that they are all complete stories with no cliff-hangers.
Andre by V. Vaughn
I love her bear shifters and it is interesting to meet two of the triplets we heard about in the earlier series when Tori was identified as a shifter. You don't have to have read the other books to jump in as it is a standalone story.
Nessa is surprised by her attraction and connection to Andre from their first meeting. He may not speak much but he makes a big impression. She always thought she wanted a more normal kind of life like her mom but her sister's news means there is something different about her too. Andre is a polar bear shifter and her life with him would never be ordinary. He knows she is his mate and has to give her time to accept the major change to her life and plans.
I enjoyed the story and it is a pretty quick read. The author is very good at crafting new characters in a short story and you end the book with a real understanding of the characters and their motivations. The other books in the series are really good to and I recommend you check them out.
Bearly Christmas - Becca Fanning
It is a story about a shifter defying the odds to go to a human medical school. He meets another resident who is a human and they have a real connection. She is focused on her career and not sure she can devote time to a relationship so she tends to push him away. They both have to make some choices about what is most important to them. I liked the characters. She is a little uptight but you understand why based on her father.
Bear in Furry Armor - Emma Alisyn
In this sweet story, a witch is in love with a shifter but discouraged by her mom from getting involved with any shifters. Neither of them is willing to give in and they need the help of the community to win her mom over.
A Roaring Fire, A Zodiac Dragon Guardian Novella - Kim Faulks
I have been reading this series and enjoyed this novella about them trying to bring Christmas to the shifters they had rescued. They want to bring the kids some happiness and will need a Christmas miracle to make it all happen. I highly recommend the series.
Beary Merry Winter - Kate Kent
A woman disappointed in men but wanting a baby, has a hookup at a party. She thinks he only wants some fun but it ends up being more than one night. When her agenda is revealed, it takes some real love to bring them back together. There are some interesting twists to the story.
Her Dragon's No Angel - Julia Mills
Can an angel and a dragon be mates? She always thought she would be matched with another angel but has strong feelings for a dragon she meets. He knows they belong together and needs some help to convince her. The characters have immediate chemistry and I enjoyed the story.
The Cowbear's Christmas Shotgun Wedding - Liv Brywood
She is back in town to settle her father's estate. She didn't expect to run into her high school nemesis. He wants to make amends for his treatment. He didn't expect to be so attracted. When danger approaches, it really pushes them together. There is a real sadness to her childhood but in the end she gets her HEA.
A Dragon's Gift - C. E. Black
Her boss has kept quite a secret. He is a dragon shifter. When she accidentally discovers his secret, the attraction can no longer be denied. It is very hot story.
Santa Paws - Harmony Raines
A shifter has given up on finding his mate when she suddenly enters his life. It seems like Santa is going to be really good to his family this year. I enjoyed the story.
Cowboy Bear's Christmas Surprise - Scarlett Grove
An accident brings him his mate but danger may take her away. When he finds his mate, she has lost her memory. She worries she may have a family already but he is pretty hard to resist. His mom is really sweet and funny.
Bear My Perfect Gift - Ariana Hawkes
He is looking for his mate when he finds a woman in need. It turns out she is just what he has been looking for but her ex doesn't want to let her go. The story has a lot of action.
Prey - Chloe Cole
A human is attacked by a shifter and rescued. However, she may still not be safe. She falls for her rescuer and they have to fight for her right to live. One of my favorites in the series.
Bear Winter - Michele Bardsley
He needs the help of his ex to save a woman and her child. She never wanted to leave him but feared for his safety. When they reunite, the feelings won't let go. I really liked this second chance at love story.
A True Alpha Christmas - Alisa Woods
This is part of a great series. She is keeping a lot of secrets from her mom who fears shifters. When her mom finds out, it rocks their relationship. She will need the love and support of her alpha to see her thru it. This is another favorite in the book.
*So far, this review is only for Santa Paws by Harmony Raines*
This was super cute! I love shifters and I love Christmas, so put those two together, and I'm a happy camper! Dermot is a bear shifter, and Vicky is a reindeer shifter, which is awesome! This story definitely has the spirit of Christmas! Dermot is a paramedic, who hasn't met his mate yet, so he works for Christmas so others with families don't have to. Vicky has left home because she isn't feeling the Christmas spirit anymore and just wants to be left alone, but when she meets Dermot, she knows he is her mate and she can't resist him. Dermot is grateful he has found his mate, but he is worried because Vicky is holding back some. The romance is lovely, sweet, and we also get some hot moments! I definitely wanted more with Vicky and Dermot! Looking forward to reading more by Harmony Raines and more in this series! So far, this boxset is rockin'!
