Yes, I have a lot of books, and if this is your first visit to my amazon author page, it can be a little overwhelming. If you are new to my work, let me recommend a few titles as good places to start. I love my Dan Shamble, Zombie P.I. series, humorous horror/mysteries, which begin with DEATH WARMED OVER. My steampunk fantasy adventures, CLOCKWORK ANGELS and CLOCKWORK LIVES, written with Neil Peart, legendary drummer from Rush, are two of my very favorite novels ever. And my magnum opus, the science fiction epic The Saga of Seven Suns, begins with HIDDEN EMPIRE. After you've tried those, I hope you'll check out some of my other series.

I have written spin-off novels for Star Wars, StarCraft, Titan A.E., and The X-Files, and I'm the co-author of the Dune prequels. My original works include the Saga of Seven Suns series and the Nebula Award-nominated Assemblers of Infinity. I have also written several comic books including the Dark Horse Star Wars collection Tales of the Jedi written in collaboration with Tom Veitch, Predator titles (also for Dark Horse), and X-Files titles for Topps.

I serve as a judge in the Writers of the Future contest.

My wife is author Rebecca Moesta. We currently reside near Monument, Colorado.

Bane of the Sith was the first story to ever feature Darth Bane, set shortly after the events of Path of Destruction. Though its material was later reworked into Chapters 7 and 8 of Rule of Two, Kevin J. Anderson’s original version deserves recognition on its own terms.

Anderson leans hard into the mythic and fantastical side of Sith lore as Bane seeks the ancient wisdom of Freedon Nadd. His journey to Nadd’s tomb on Dxun is both guided and tormented by the ghosts of two recently fallen Sith who view him as a traitor and a coward. It’s here that Bane consolidates his power and articulates his “Rule of Two” philosophy. Notably, Anderson places this pivotal moment after the Battle of Ruusan, whereas Karpyshyn situates it earlier in the timeline.

The story is unabashedly campy, especially in its dialogue, and Anderson never pretends otherwise. For me, that’s part of its charm. This is straightforward, spirited space fantasy delivered with confidence. Anderson knows exactly what kind of story he’s telling and leans into it, crafting something that’s fun, pulpy, and surprisingly resonant.

It was ok. I didn't really understand why this exists since everything that's here is described (maybe not in much detail as here) in the Rule of Two novel. But, still, it was an ok read that I'd like even more if it was a longer one.

I since checked out why this existed and it was simply because it was written and published before the Rule of Two so it makes sense now so I'm upping it 1 star.

A sound basis for the section of the story told in "Rule of Two;" although not as good, I still found it to be a worthy read!
