This story of the criminal John Dillinger gives a different version of the death of John Dillinger. We won't give away the conclusions here, so read the book and find out why this author believes the "official" version in 1934 was not accurate.
I strongly disagree with another reviewer that this book is speculative. It presents a serious investigation of evidence and witnesses still existing/living at the time of its writing [in the late 1960's] and it will blow your mind!
Nash is methodical in presenting that evidence/testimony and it is COMPELLING. This is made even more so when you consider how fully the FBI attempted to keep Nash's book[s] from being published... that's why old hard copies are so rare [and expensive] today - Nash had to have the book privately published due to FBI coercion [Nash first released his work in 1970 under the title DILLINGER: DEAD OR ALIVE and then later under THE DILLINGER DOSSIER in 1983, which contains some additonal evidence]. Thankfully, today it is widely available as an E-book, but I still cherish my dog-eared paperback first-edition!
Again, this is not a conspiracy-theory volume that makes empty claims but rather a well-researched and thoughtfully presented account of one of the biggest hoaxs ever perpetrtated upon the American public with the FBI -then as now- up to their elbows in deception and internalized corruption.
TRUST ME: "The Dillinger Dossier" is a VERY good read!!!
Jay Robert Nash has studied crime and criminals for many years. He discovered information suggesting John Dillinger, the notorious bank robber, was not killed in Chicago. Rather, a pimp named James Lawrence was killed outside the Biography Theater. In this fascinating volume Nash presents his evidence to the reader. Of course the FBI insists they got the right man, but the entire Federal effort was badly mishandled from the beginning. I recommend this book highly.
Very informative. Unfortunately, it’s more speculation and theory than emu evidence. It does make you think for yourself and raises questions as to the truth at the biograph and what really happened to Dillinger.
