From USA TODAY Bestseller, Karpov Kinrade, comes a standalone story in The Nightfall Chronicles. They call him the Weeper. For after he murders his victims, he draws an eye and tear as his mark in the blood of his enemies. At least, they assume they’re his enemies. They do not know why he kills, but they know the how. A dagger in both eyes, so the fallen's cheeks are stained crimson, as they lie there motionless, weeping red. The public grasps for motives behind the debts and disputes, quarrels and traumas. Because people fear violence without reason. They cannot defend themselves against that which they do not understand, so they ignore the simplest motive of all―that the Weeper relishes blood and flesh, and they are little more than bags of meat. Such things, they would say, do not happen in our civilized world. But I have seen the truth of humanity, and it is written in chaos. Such things happen every day. And always, people distract themselves with drink and dance, work and play. Yet even those who feign disinterest have two questions. Who is the Weeper, and what does he want? Tonight, I intend to answer both.

Oh well, it’s as if the authors just kept everything that annoyed me about the MC in this short story. She is reckless, over-confident, and thinks she can deal with anyone and anything just because she’s Nephilim now. She does not care or realize that her decision of running into action without proper preparation or backup means that her teammates' lives are in danger too. I did not see a fierce and intelligent leader in this short story, I saw an overeager teenager not taking the time to think about the bigger picture or the consequences of her actions.
I’ll put this series on hold for now because after reading this disappointing short story, I’m in no hurry to read the second book.
It was short. Fast paced. Since I have been lazy with reading and overworked it did remind me who were the characters. Prepared me to jump into the next part. Maybe the Weeper was too poorly explained and simple, but still a quite good, quick read.
"If people can change, then so can this world". Another great instalment in the nightfall chronicles. Scarlet continues to hide in plain site as she fights for justice and equality. In this instance though is she tracking the wrong enemy.
The weeper and the godmaker are causing havoc, leaving death in their wake. With zorin away it falls on nightfall and her team to track and stop them before anyone else is murdered. But as always happens in these stories not all is as it seems, what motivates our villains can change our perspective, foe becomes friend and death is not always absolute.
"The night shows the world in a strange light he says it hides the obvious and gives us a glimpse into the shadows" this is a perfect quote to sum up this series. Another amazing piece of writing.

Omg I love this series. I’ve been sucked into this world and I’m nervous on how it will end.
I really love the side stories that they do. This story is not necessarily a pinnacle of Nightfall's movement. But it does solidify what she believes in. In this story, Nightfall meets an antagonist, The Weeper, who she attempts to hunt down and stop from killing people. She doesn't believe in killing the innocent. But the Weeper and the Nightfall come to an understanding as they go up against the Godmaker. The book is a fantastic display of Scarlet beginning her life as Nightfall. I can't wait for the next book!
"And if people can change, then so can this world." Who are the GodMaker and the Weeper? And how to stop them? Follow Nightfalls encounter with two criminals and be surprised how it'll turn out.
What I liked was that a couple of terms were shortly explained without confusing the reader. It's a well-written story in addition to the Nightfall chronicles which you don't need to read, but you want to.
Weeper of Blood was a nice read in between the books of Court of Nightfall, and House of Ravens. It was fast paced and had good flow. It felt almost like I was reading a comic book without the pictures. Although I felt like I had missed something with the relationship between Zorin and Scarlett in Court of Nightfall that was played up in Weeper of Blood. Good book, but not as enthralling as its predecessor.
I loved this super fast read chronicling the time between books 1 & 2. It's a solid story with an interesting new character as well as the completion of a previous story arc that you otherwise would not get resolved. Plus you get to learn some interesting tidbits about the characters you have come to love from this series! A must read for any Nightfall fan!!
This short story is not required reading as part of the Nightfall Chronicles, it is more of a side story. However, with that said, it is an excellent side story and highly recommended. It takes 30-60 minutes to read, depending on your speed, but is well worth it. In my humble opinion, it is much better than the other novella, book 2.5
This was a short side story so there wasn't a lot of story to develop. It was a great short side story to explain a little more about the different sides, how they have been treated, and why things are the way they are now. It also gave our main character more to hold onto in her own beliefs.
Be sure to read in order. Great series better than otters I who won't mention by name!! The couple has a hysteria way of pulling you in the story. Twists and turns along the way
I really enjoyed the story and I love this book series. I wish I found this on after book one. Oh well this was still a great read. I highly recommend this book. 😀
I am glad Willow survived. There is hope for some at this point. A joyful reunion is like a sliver of light in the darkness. I can see why this novella needed to be told on its own.
I've read all of the Nightfall books available except for this one, until now. I'm not really sure why I didn't read it until now, but it was a good little short story.

This series must be read in order. This story may be read any time after the first book. I am unsure exactly where it falls in the series otherwise. The first book is Court Of Nightfall. The second book is House Of Ravens. The third book is Night Of Nyx. The fourth book is Song Of Kai. I can't wait to read Daughter Of Strife!
Scarlett is still learning her place in this world as both a Pat Initiate in the Orders and a Nephilim leader of The Dark Templars Rebels. One thing she knows it that, no matter what, she wants to save people (no matter their designation or class) from injustice and oppression. With Zorin away on some mysterious errand, she and the Dark Templars have been left to their own devices. The Dark Templars have been searching for a mad scientist named The God-Maker since before they were the Dark Templars... And now they seem to have found him. As well as a murdered known as The Weeper who has been leaving bodies and terrorizing the city. How are the two connected? How should they handle this situation without Zorin? Can Nightfall and the Dark Templars prevail without him against these two monsters?
***This series is suitable for mature young adult through adult readers who enjoy futuristic post postapocalyptal sci-fi paranormal fantasy action adventure mysteries full of intrigue, thrills, epic struggles and a dash of maybe romance and quite a bit of tragedy set in Dystopian societies rotten to the core :)
This book was unexpected. I missed reading it in correct sequence, but that didn't matter in this case. Scarlett and her crew, less Zorin, were trying to apprehend two seriously bad criminals. One being the Weeper, the other called himself the Godmaker. It turned out the two cases were related, but one was not who and what she thought. A very interesting and exciting book to add to this collection!
