I'm totally falling for these books. I've read a book a day. The romance isn't overwhelming (even with what could be an expected triangle in each one).

Hyde was hands down my favorite book of the series so far! If I could have given it more than 5 stars I would have!

Waking up in a trunk covered in blood, wounds and torn clothing Hanna fears the worst until she learns she did it to herself, which oddly enough makes it even worse than her fears. Her memories come back quickly and remembers the death of her best friend and fear it may have been at her own hands. Distraught over the loss and the struggle of not knowing what happened to her puts her on edge and it doesn't help she was brought to the death bed of her estranged father. Even having anger toward him for so long doesn't stop the pain she feels at his loss.

Roland, a wonderful trusted servant of her fathers now serves her and can only offer up so many of the answers she is looking for. He gives her the journals of her father and as she reads them she begins to view him in a whole new light. It's through these journals she learns what she is ... but will she accept it? Marcus, a long time friend of her fathers, has offered the same help he had offered her father.....help with creating a formula for a cure, something to control the beast that dwells within her. His price? Only a few drops of blood. Doesn't seem all that bad...but nothing is ever what it seems.

She meets the rest of the gang and becomes aware of the supernatural that live among the humans of the world. She has men literally falling at her feet and ends up in a tangled love web.....yes not triangle, a web! Each for different reasons she feels a pull toward them, is there a reason? There's always a reason. Hyde is packed full of action, suspense, betrayal, tragedy and love - you can't help but cry, scream, laugh and gasp as you try to hold onto your heart.

Once again Tara delivers a wonderous journey that I will most definitely not forget!

In this book we meet Hanna, it took me awhile to fall in love with her while I fell in love with Ari and Aimee immediately in the other books. Marcus though man oh man I fell in love with that cocky lil' shit right off. "he laughed looking at her, "Eternity is a long time love, I have several doctorate." (I bet he does) Oh Marcus you really do make my heart flutter. "You're my favorite monster Hanna. Of all the monsters in all the world you're my favorite. You're feisty and spicy but deep down in a place you don't let anyone see, you're sweet too." Now when Aleks and Hanna first meet I'd be in embarrassed to me in the same room with them, but yet their conversation was just funny as Hell:
"Sorry I don't know what's wrong with me. I just don't think I can be around you."
He laughed. "I feel the same way."
"I want to feel you."
He blushed. "Okay well, I will go and tell Roland we probably can't do this."
The smile left her face, "I want to do it."
THEN we put this boy Sam in the mix, and I'm thinking DAMN how many men are gonna fall at her feet but then I continued reading and found out she's a siren. I think Sam is perfect for her though he completes her just as much as she completes him. AND I was so happy for Aleks even if it was for a few minutes (he finds a new lady love) YAY!! but then he and Marcus die, I hate when characters die in a book especially if I really love the character it feels like a part of me dies, well Marcus he was a complete ass anyway but Aleks I really loved him.

OK....Hyde has become my favorite Tara Brown book so far! What an awesome way to add Jekyll and Hyde to the mix. And we cant forget the OG vampire himself.
You still get to see Aimee, Shane, Ari, and Aleks. But you are introduced to Hanna, our main chick. She's confused as to what is happening to her and who to trust. Then there's Marcus, the OG vampire who has this vibe he puts out there that makes you go weak in the knees.
From the start, I couldn't help but feel sorry for Hanna as she can't remember the past few days and what happened to her BFF. From there, she witnesses her fathers life be taken from him and is forced to read about his past and what she is becoming. She finds out that the people she trusted and loved are straight up evil. She meets Lydia Crane and all of her "children". When she meets Sam, she instantly feels something for him. Shes feels something for Andrew Paulson, the fine young police officer who finds her in the woods. She has like a 4 way love thing going on. Its pretty hot!
The Dark Ones want her for their side and the Good Ones want to train her to become a Rose. She is pulled in both directions and you are right there with her.
Holy Hellfire Tara! You really know how to write a great series! Hyde has an unexpected ending that made me want to throw my Kindle and burst into tears. But I understand why it had to be done. I can't wait to see what happens in Witch, Book 4 of the Devil's Roses.

Hanna Holland has lived her whole life as a normal girl , that is until she was found covered in her friends blood , her friend dead and no recollection of what had happened. All is odd but then Hanna is taken to a Tudor looking estate which happens to be her fathers and she discovers that she is in fact Hanna Hyde - daughter of the infamous Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and that her mother was a Siren. Just as Hanna has more questions of her past and who she is , her father dies leaving Hanna stuck in a whole new reality with little knowledge of who she really is or what she is. Enter Marcus - he is one of the Dark Ones - the vampire who the tale of Dracula is based on. Hanna feels strongly about Marcus but when she discovers his true intentions - will she be able to escape him or will their bond be strong ? Also Hanna is being looked at to be recruited into the organisation known as The Devil's Roses. The Devil's Roses are the ones who make it their mission to kill the Dark Ones and anyone who uses their supernatural abilities to endanger others. Who will Hanna choose to join - Marcus and his mission to find a cure for her changing into Ms. Hyde or Accept her ability and become part of the Devil's Roses ?

Oh my! What a book! Hanna's father has just had his soul sucked from him by a death dealer (Aimee) leaving Hanna to uncover secrets from centuries ago. She meets Marcus, a friend of her fathers who is also THE vampire Dracula and may I say mega hot, I would happily stay with him forever ;) Hanna begins to discover who and what she is and in step the Roses to help her. I felt sooo sorry for Aleks in this book, that poor, hot, sexy guy just can't catch a break. Bad luck just seems to follow him everywhere. Loved this book....book number 4 'Witch' here I come!

Excellent third book. Liked it the best so far. Cried my fool head off. Absolutely devastated but at the same time I recall being disappointed in the Twilight Series that no ones dies. It just wasn't realistic.
The author has done something new with Paranormal Romance, which I thought was impossible. Dark and Gothic and yet funny.

The plot gets more complex and interesting. The commas are better but still a bit much. Please learn the difference between lie and lay; breath and breathe; your and you're. It jolts readers who actually know English.

I utterly love this series 6 books 6 days. I will definitely have to reread the entire series but mostly books 2,3,4 I dont want to put spoilers but it certainly gets a little confusung with the different eras. That said I thouroughly enjoyed this series its a great take on god and the fallen, vs evolution with dracula, fea, dr Jekyll and mr hyde . Its just brilliant 👏 👌 😀

3.5-4 Stars

"You're my favorite monster Hanna. Of all the monsters in all world you're my favorite. You're feisty and spicy but deep down in a place you don't let anyone see, you're sweet too."

Let me start off with saying how much I loved Hanna. And, I loved all the characters in this story. There was some stuff that I didn't like. But, I'll get to that later.

The story begins with 18yr old Hanna locked in the trunk of a car. Her clothes are ripped 1/2 off and she's all bloody, dirty and does not remember how it all happened. Then, the car stops and Roland opens the trunk. Roland is her father's butler. She get's out and see's she is at her estranged fathers huge mansion. Hanna goes inside and finds out her father is dying. He gives her his journals & a piece of paper with a formula on it. Then, Aimee comes in you remember Aimee, my favorite death dealer from book 1. Well, she kills Hanna's father and walks out without saying a word!!

Now, Hanna sits down to read her father's journals. She realizes that thing's aren't as they seem. Her father is Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde!! Then, she remembers how she ended up bloody, bruised and in the trunk of Roland's car. The more she reads her fathers journals. The more she realized he did love her and didn't give her up bc he hated her. She reads about Marcus. One of her dad's oldest friends. Marcus is THE Vampire Dracula!!!!

The next POV we get is Aleks. Which I was STOKED about!! I loved him in book 1 and was excited to hear thing's from his perspective. He is still all shook up on his feeling's for Aimee. But, realizes it's best to keep it the way it is. Then, he meet's Hanna.. He is instantly smitten with her.

Hanna meet's Marcus and instantly feels a connection with him. One minute she's throwing herself at him. The next, she hates him and wants nothing to do with him. She knows he was helping her father find a cure to tame the beast inside of him. Now, he wants to help Hanna. All she has to do is give him a couple drops of her blood. She also meet's Andy the human cop. And Sam, the nephillam. Hanna went from the plain Jane girl next door. To the girl that guys were throwing themselves at. That's when we learn she's 1/2 beast and 1/2 Siren.

Remember Gisselle??!! She's back. Blake got her turned onto vampires!! Now, she BACK to fighting for her life. Luckily, for her here comes Aleks to save the day.. AGAIN..

There was so many good things about this book. I loved the characters Hanna, Aleks, Marcus, Roland, Aimee, Sam, Gisselle, Lydia. I loved all the love triangles. All the using and abusing between everybody. The fact that you never really knew who's emotions were real and who's wasn't. I like that 1 deal with the devil will drastically change everyone's lives. What I didn't like which I was really bummed out about. We never got closure with the Ari, Lucas & Ben triangle. Or with the Aimee, Shane & Aleks triangle. I was really bummed about it. I hope I get something in the 4th book. I def had a crazy wave of emotions at the end of this story. It's a definate read!!!

Excellent story! I highly recommend it. This review was written to express my feelings about what happened in the book for people who read the book. Do not read this review until after you’ve read the book.

For most of the book I was very confused as to what was going on, which looking back, was brilliant because Hanna was confused as well; you really felt what the character was going through. In the end, most things are explained. It leaves you wondering about Henry—what is he? He’s going to be in the next book so maybe some more light is shed about his characteristics. I still don’t completely understand what Aleksander’s was. Why did he have the powers that he did? What were the bounds of the curse? I can’t put my finger on it, but I’m left somewhat unsatisfied with understanding his character.

I didn’t like Hanna’s monster aspect and thought it was convenient that a cure was found to suppress the monster. I’m still glad there was a cure. I think it was creative to use the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde theme, though.

Some people’s reviews complained that Marcus’s and Hanna’s relationship was abusive. It was but that happens in reality. A guy charms a girl, she falls in love with him, and he turns out to be a jerk. I have to admit I was rooting for him. He’s a very sexy bad boy that you want redeemed—not to mention the hot scenes with Marcus and Hanna! He did some nice things like saved Hanna’s life and arranged a cure for her monster—but he doesn’t get what he wants in the end; he paid for all his lies and evil deeds. I thought this was unique since many authors have the bad boy getting the girl in the end. I can see why people would get annoyed but they shouldn’t get annoyed from this story. Hanna recognized the abuse and fought it. She made mistakes. Do you really want characters to be flawless and make perfect decisions? Does everything have to be happily ever after? I thought these ideas were brilliant. Tara Brown really tricks you into thinking what Marcus felt was real and that his intentions were good.

The ending was tragic and beautifully written; I cried—Tara Brown at her best!

In this book we meet Hanna, we don't know what she is or where she came from. If you remember the ending to "Bane" Aimee went to a house and put an old man out of his misery, in the first few pages of this book, you find out that that gentleman was in fact Hanna's father.

In the beginning of this book, she wakes one day to be locked inside the boot of a car, once she speaks to Roland (Her fathers Butler, so to say,) she manages to learn what's happened, she appeared with her clothes torn and signs of GBH all the while her best friend "Murdered". Reading through journals written by her father she found an answer, as to her birth history and what "being" she is, but it was far from the one she wanted. Unable to accept what she was, Hanna accepted the help of her father’s long time friend Marcus.

Hanna is thrust into a world of "Special" people, people who treat her differently due to the type of being that she is.

Hanna is toing and frowing between two guys throughout this book, Sam & Marcus.

Sam is a loving, adorable guy who is giving Hanna space to become friends before he puts the moves on her, but whilst he's giving her space Marcus is manipulating her, controlling her actions and swiping her of her feet (Literally)

Hanna's world just got turned topsy turvy.

I have to say this book is actioned packed from the 1st word on the 1st page of the 1st chapter.

The ending is heartbreaking (Won't spoil it for ya) I literally cried at the ending, how can something like that happen to all of them, Poor Lydia, Poor Dorian, Poor Ari, Poor Aimee, Poor Sam, Poor Lucas, Poor Alek, Poor Ben.

I hope we find some answers in the 4th instalment "Witch"

Aaaaand here we go again.

In Hyde, the 3rd book in the Devil's Roses series, Tara Brown takes a character that you won't be able to resist and throws her through a story line that twirls and rocks like a hurricane. You'll feel her emotions, but wait, there's more: you still have Aimee and Ari from the first two books, along with their friends (and sometimes enemies) and all of their enviable and terrifying skills and gifts.

In this story, an older, classic story is revisited; I don't want to give away any spoilers, but the title should give some of it up. Hanna is not what she always thought she was, and she has to cope with not only those changes, but the dramatic, confusing, and sometimes hilarious world of the Devil's Roses. Oh, and also some bone-shaking lust and maybe possibly love.

Secrets are revealed, bonds are made and broken, and enchantments and teenage hormones rain gasoline onto the raging fire that is the love stories in this book and the entire series.

Another thing I want to mention about Tara Brown's writing style is the ease of words. I am a professional editor, and while there are a few grammatical issues in this series (I can't turn off the inner editor!) the dialogue and descriptions seriously make you feel like your friend is telling you the story in real time. It's refreshing and unique in a genre that is sometimes overpowered by cliches, winded description, and thesauruses.

Tara Brown has quickly become one of my favorites, and I may resort to stalking her for other books. :P

Again, I cannot say enough good things about this series. I laughed, I cried, and well, you have to read the book to understand the rest. The third book was on par with the second, but brought with it a little more spice. The story is told from the POV of Aleks and Hanna.

Waking up in a trunk, sore, and barely clothed was the least of Hanna’s problems. Memories of a dead girl, the death of her father, then the discovery of treachery by those who raised her, plagued her. She needed answers. Reading through journals written by her father she found an answer, but it was far from the one she wanted. Unable to accept what she was, Hanna accepted the help of her father’s longtime friend Marcus. Marcus’ help came at a price, a few simple drops of blood. But nothing is ever simple.

Hanna gets trusted into the paranormal world, discovering that Marcus is the most powerful vampire ever. He lived up to his promise to help her control her inner rage, meanwhile falling in love with her. In fact, every man she meets is smitten with her, even Aleks.

Poor Aleks, feeling like he ruined Aimee’s life, feels compelled to save her dying friend Giselle. He made a deal with Marcus, and a few of the Roses end up paying with their life. Hanna couldn't help but feel it was all her fault. This book is filled with deception, tragedy, and love.

Ummm… I am glad that this book is over. I didn’t like it as much as the two before it. I actually started reading the fourth book Witch before I read this because I got mixed up with the order. It upset me that I found things out before starting this book.

This one was about Hannah the half Siren half werewolf. She learns who she is after the death of her father. She goes to Lydia’s house, as every other supernatural, and learns about what she is exactly. Since she is half Siren, all the guys fall for her. It is actually pretty annoying because she falls for them too. The ones she love the most are Marcus and Sam. Aimee is still with Shane. Ana is still with Lucas and Alexander is now in love with Giselle. All these people think about is sex. Nothing wrong with that! Haha. There is also a rescue mission in this story as well that the Roses take back a few kidnapped supernatural children from the hands of Daniel, the vampire, and his accomplices. They are apparently trying to take over the world or something.

There wasn’t really much to this book that I enjoyed. Hanna’s mixed emotions were too confusing to keep track of and the story was just dragging on. I know already book four is better, so I will just go and read that one now. Bye.

In this book we meet Hanna. Hanna wakes up in a truck dirty and her clothers are torn all over the place. She has no idea what happened to her or how she got inside a trunk of a car. She reads all her dad's journals and everything that happened to her becomes clear. She turns into a monster and has no memory of what happens. She has a couple different guys in her life and she likes them all but she doesn't understand why they all like her. She went from being the girl next door type to some hot chick who the guys couldn't stay away from. When the truth finally comes out on why the guys like her she is devasted. She gets used in this book and people betray her friendship and trust.
All the old faces we grew to love are back in this book and we get to see more of what the roses can do.

Hanna's a sweatheart and just wants someone to love her for herself not because of magic. I was sad for her in this book she got used so bad by a couple different people that she truly cared about. I was rooting for her to be with Sam or Ben either one worked for me. The ending was very sad and I cried so be prepared for the ending and have some tissue next to you.

Book 3, Hyde, was my favourite of The Devil's Roses series so far. I found Hanna a far more intriguing heroine than either Aimee or Ari and perhaps her emotional vulnerability made her easier to connect with.
As the title suggests Hyde is a modern retelling of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, with Hanna transforming into the monster. However, this is not the extent of Hanna's supernatural 'powers' and it is necessary for her to become part of the Roses to understand herself. I love the way in which Tara Brown allows Hanna to use her sexuality without guilt and as Sam tells her, 'Everyone of us uses what we have to to survive'.
In Hyde we meet familiar characters such as Aimee, Ari, Aleksander and Lydia but are also introduced to a cast of interesting new ones like Marcus, Roland, Sam and Henry. Tara Brown develops strong relationships amongst the characters in this story, and I think the plot is an emotional one for everyone, including the reader.
I am now about to start book four, with excitement and slight trepidation!

In the third book of the Devil's Roses series you are introduced to Hannah first. Hannah lives with her aunt and uncle, leading a seemingly normal life. That is until she wakes up in the trunk of a car one night.

Upon emerging from the trunk she learns that she has been taken to her father's house for safe keeping. Something about Hannah has changed and she is now a danger. At this point she also comes in contact with Aimee, but at this point it is not anything pleasant.

Hannah like so many others has been thrown into the supernatural world. She now needs to learn to controal her new found abilities. She needs to understand what has happened to cause the sudden change to her and above all, she needs to learn who she can trust.

There is so much more that I want to write here, but I am not big on spoilers. Hyde is an absolute must read. You will be pulled in right away and taken for quite the ride!
