My name is Charlie, everyone has a story, and this is mine...
That's how the book Last Best Hope, by author T.C.Butts, introduces Charlie Quinn, happy at last living in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, finally at home in her cabin surrounded by nature's beauty. From her isolated life, she makes her living writing a highly successful vampire romance series, where she proclaims, "So I didn't create timeless canons of literature...I created moments of escapist enjoyment, and in the lives we often trap ourselves, it was as important as any Shakespeare sonnet or Tennyson poem." When fireballs rain down on Denver one early spring night, the world is changed forever.
Author T.C.Butts has brought Charlie Quinn's vampire romance series to life, which has grown deeper and richer with each new volume. It has been a labor of love!
There's absolutely NOTHING to dislike! I'm soooo hooked on The Firsts, that I've recommended the series to all of my reader friends and acquaintances. Vaz and Corri had a rough time getting together, Corri had a really rough time being forced into the vampire world...but totally worth the pain. Keep em coming, and I'll be much more than thrilled to keep buying!
Over a century after Bernie/Burne dies from the ancient vampire/human virus, Vaz finally feels up to seeing bessss family again. In Corsica, he meets a bartender who is a chemist and on the path to get an advanced degree and save the world. Corri’s run in with a group of rouge vampires changes her life forever and ruins the beginnings of new love.
Vaz finally gets his HEA. Bernie had been one of my favorite characters, so this is bittersweet. Though more sweet than bitter. Over 100 years in mourning for his lost love and Vaz finds sweet Corri. Another winner in The Firsts saga. My favorite vampires!
From book one I've been hooked on these books. Each one gets better and better. C. L. Quinn is an amazing writer Van and Corri's story took us around the world but love always triumphs. Can't wait for the next one
This is an absolutely great book. A must read. So much action with romance. I have read every bok in this series and each one is great. This is one of my favorite series that I don't ever want to end. As a reader you are pulled into the story and love the characters as if you are one of them.
I have loved every book in this series. They just keep getting better and better with the interwoven story lines. I love getting to touch base with other characters from previous books and see how far they've come. Keep the stories coming!
Despite enjoying the story, even with its few errors, the ‘c’ word puts this into the negative star rating. Hate me if you will but I detest the word and don’t want to read it. Without the ‘c’ word, this story would have had a 4 star rating. If that word doesn’t bother you, then read because the story itself IS good. Sorry C.L.
