First off, I want to say THANK YOU sooooo much to Vanessa for allowing me to beta Breathless!! I absolutely fell in love with Heartless and everything about it so I was excited to learn there would be more to Charlie and Sam's story. I wasn't sure what to expect going into this one but OMG let me just say...I was hooked!! There was no putting this book down. Every time I said just one more chapter and then I will put it down to clean my house something would grab my attention and the next thing you know I was even more into it!! Be ready to hold on tight for a few twists and turns that I didn't see coming but had me turning those pages needing more till the very end.

Charlie's life has not always been easy. Since birth she has had to fight to survive and never thought she would get the fairytale ending every little girl dreams of....that is until Sam Greyson walks into her life but as luck would have it, life will once again throw Charlie a curve ball. Will Charlie fight to survive and do everything the doctors expect of her or will she finally just give up and accept that she will have the same fate as her mother?
 photo zzchar-1.jpg

Sam.....OMG, HOLLLLYYY SWOOON!!! I absolutely LOVE Sam!! Charlie is his whole world, once she came into his life he knew where he belonged and he knew he had to make her his but when something unexpected comes up and Charlie puts off telling Sam how will he react? Will it change their relationship or will he push Charlie to fight....to fight more now than ever to live and have that happily ever after with him!!
Sam photo zsam.jpg

"You're my main concern. I've lived without you before and I never want to spend a day without you again. I can't do it and I won't. You are my life Charlie. I didn't truly start living until I met you." ~Sam

 photo zchariesamkiss.jpg

"Fairytales and happy endings are meant for people like Sarah and Alex. Happily ever afters aren't meant for people like me." ~Charlie

"I really wish you'd stop putting yourself in this box of damaged goods. You can have the fairytale and I will be your happily ever after. If you let me." ~Sam

Jules...OMG some of the things that comes out of his mouth kills me but I wish I had a Jules of my own. You will see a little different side of Jules in this book but its totally understandable and he will eventually get over his little bump in the road. I love how close he is with Charlie and will tell her like it is when he needs to put her in her place. I'm glad that Sam and Jules grew closer in Breathless as well and decided to make life more easier on Charlie.
 photo zjules.jpg

"We're in this together. You're going to live. I will be the sunshine and rainbows to your dark clouds and acid rain okay?" ~Jules

And of course here is just one of the few snarky come backs he has that will have you laughing your butt off....

"Someone needs to give that bit*h a a hug...around the neck...with a rope."

I loved that we get more on daddy Joe in this book as well. Since his wife's death he was left to raise his baby girl all on his own and while it wasn't always easy I think he done a darn good job. The heart to heart talks that Joe has with Sam will melt your heart.
 photo ztimo.jpg

"I just want you to see this isn't a battle that you have to fight alone. I may not have been cut open as many times as you have been physically, but trust me kid every time you've gone under the knife, I've been cut. It's changed me. A piece of my heart was taken away because I had to watch you suffer. As a parent, it's your worst nightmare....Having a sick child and being absolutely helpless to make them better, so they don't suffer. It's unbearable...."

That ending....OMG I was freaking out!!!! What was going to happen?? Would everything be ok?? Then I was screaming NOOOOOO!!!! Come on you can do it!!! Deep Breath!! Shew!! No its not a cliffy but it just leaves you wanting more.....Trust me when I say you will def want to go and one click this series asap!!! You will not be disappointed!!

AHH-MAZING job Vanessa!!! You already know I am your stalker so I will just try to sit back and patiently wait for more on Charlie, Sam and the whole gang!! <3

Breathless was the the second book in the Chasing Hearts Series. The first book is Heartless and I gave it a 5 star, and Breathless is no different it earned a huge 5 stars as well! This series seriously stole my heart right out of my chest. This is a teacher student romance like no other, I absolutely devoured this book in 1 setting. Vanessa Marie sure knows how to intrigue your senses with this book. I absolutely loved the steam and electricity that was portrayed with the main characters Sam and Charlie. Even though it was a student teacher romance it had so much depth that honestly in this book I more focused on the relationship that was building with Sam and Charlie.
In Heartless you meet Charlie and Sam because they built a relationship way before they new Sam was Charlie's new teacher. They have to suppress any feelings they had for one another... until one day when a tragedy strikes Sam realizes his feelings for Charlie run deeper than just a young crush. Heartless will end with Charlie finally revealing her secrets to Sam and them trying to prove they can make things work.

In Breathless Charlie and Sam's relationship will blossom and become much more than either expected. Charlie is graduated and now they can finally be together. When Charlie learns her condition is worsening and that she has to let Sam go because she can't let him watch her wilt away. Sam has no intention of ever leaving Charlie and when an unexpected twist happens it will throw everyone into a tailspin. Can they stay together through it all or will it all end in tragedy?

You have to go and pick up this series it will seriously change your life. I loved every minute and can't wait for Fearless to be released! Oh and I just have to say we all need a best friend like Jules in our lives because the banter between them to had me cracking up! You will laugh, you will sob, you will swoon, but most of all you this book will leave you breathless at the end. Thanks again Vanessa for a wonderful story so far!

I fell in love with Sam and Charlie in Heartless. Breathless is a continuation of Sam and Charlie's story and picks up right where book 1 ended. You also get more Jules, Callie and Joe. I still love Jules and the relationship he and Charlie continue to have. He is still there being a pain in the butt to Charlie as well as being the best friend a girl can have.

As for Sam, there's just no words for him. Seriously, he is the most loving person and understands everything that Charlie has went through and continues to go through. He is there for her every step of the way, and at times I feel so bad for him because she continues to hold back from him. Charlie is so scared to let him in because she struggles with not knowing what the future will bring. But Sam does everything he can to show her how much she means to him and that he will do anything to keep her in his future...

"I really wish you'd stop putting yourself in this box of damaged goods. You can have the fairytale and I will be your happily ever after.....if you let me."

He knows everything about her and nothing will scare him off to make him not want to be with her. I fell in love with Sam all over again when he tells Charlie exactly how much he knows her and she realizes just how much she needs him.....

"Of course I remembered. Baby I know you better than you think I do. I know you like your coffee blonde with one splenda, but if you get it from Starbucks, you taste the difference between a skinny and a non-fat latte. I know you yawn when you're annoyed and your brows crease when you're lost in thought. You chew on your bottom lip when you're nervous and you refuse to make eye contact when you're keeping something from me. You run when you're scared and fight hard for what you love. And food is something you never joke about."

I just love Sam! I don't even know if my own husband knows that much about me! When I read that part I swooned all over again!

I definitely enjoyed Sam and Charlies story once again. There were some twist and turns throughout this story that kept everything flowing. I'm glad questions that I had from Book 1 were answered when it came to Charlie's past relationships with some of her family. The things that Charlie continues to push through just shows how strong she is and continues to be. As for the ending...I'm hoping there's a book 3! It can't just end that way! If it does, I guess I got enough and know it ended the way it should, but I would love more. Plus, just like I said in my review from Heartless...Jules needs a book! So...please please please let there be a book for Jules! Either way, I will read what ever comes out next from the talented, Vanessa Marie!

Breathless will hold true to its name and leave you breathless. I lost count of how many times I cried reading this one. If you thought that Heartless was an emotional read with just enough humor to keep you sane… then make sure you have tissues and chocolate nearby when you read Breathless. Vanessa Marie brought her A++++ game with this one—this one holds all the humor, and emotion that the first did and even more.

This is a combined review of both Heartless and Breathless (which may be found on www.newkidswithabook.com):

I love taboo relationships.  Seriously. The rebel in me loves watching characters fight against what shouldn't be. However, I began Heartless by Vanessa Marie without even realizing that it was a taboo relationship.  Having finished it, I'm almost happier that I didn't because slapping a label on it like that would be a misjustice to the book.  It's so much more than that.

The books worked for me because Charlie is wise beyond her years.  She's suffered through unimaginable loss and heartbreak.  Literally.  Her heart is broken.  It does not work like yours or mine, and it affects every relationship she chooses not to make.

She didn't like to think about the future because she knew deep down, she didn't have one.  She'd always had the sick feeling she'd never live past twenty-five and there was the chance she wouldn't even make it that long now ... It wasn't enough time left on earth for someone to invest time in her,  She was better off alone. - Heartless

Add to the that the fact that Charlie has been shuffled all over the country as she follows her military father from base to base. She's never been allowed to grow roots. As a result, she's a tough nut to crack. However, what's so endearing about Charlie is her sense of humor and strength.  They never wane.

Experience is a hard teacher because she gives you the test first and the lesson afterward. - Heartless

And then there is Swoony Sam.  Yep, that's my new name for him.  He's amazingly sweet but must be exceptionally sturdy, too, if he's going to both put up with Charlie's antics and be the support system she needs when everything falls apart.

Swoony Sam never let me down.  Even when the truth of their relationship forces them to make some tough decisions, he left my heart full.

"Life isn't always what we want it to be. It sounds like you've had the short end of the stick for most of yours, but it doesn't mean you don't have the right to be happy. If you give me the chance, I'd like to be the one to show you what that's like." - Heartless

When he finally breaks down her walls ... sweet success!

Losing herself in him was easy, and she had the feeling he was doing the same.  All the pain and heartbreak was in each breath, each kiss, and each time he filled her. - Heartless

I loved Heartless so much I couldn't wait to get my hands on Breathless and was lucky enough to get a sneak peak. I was so excited to see what was in store for the characters I'd grown so fond of.

As expected Charlie and Sam's troubles are not yet over.  Family problems.  Medical Problems. It's more than two person should have to endure.  Through their struggles, Swoony Sam and Charlie stand strong.

"You're my main concern. I've lived without you before and I never want to spend a day without you again. I can't do it and I won't. You are my life Charlie. I didn't truly start living until I met you." - Breathless

Breathless took this gritty and gripping storyline to new places and left me wanting more without leaving me hanging. You don't want to miss out on these two books which will steal your heart and take your breath away.

In Breathless, the second installment of the Chasing Hearts series, we have a much more confident Charlie. She is to her old antics with Jules and Sarah, but more in love with Sam. The story takes on a more dramatic turn than the first book and grips your heart, not letting go.

Charlie and Sam continue their love story. They have gotten closer and he seems to know her like no one else. But things become a little strained when she continues to go to Jules when things get tough. Jules is her “familiar”, her constant, and the comfort they share with each other is something that Sam still doesn’t understand. Jules is also a little jealous of the closeness that Charlie and Sam share and he’s having a hard time understanding that the love she has for both is unwavering and different. This will cause lots of drama.

I fell in love with Sam and Charlie once again. Their story is so touching, with an intense love that consumes them to the point that sometimes it’s difficult for them to breathe without the other. He shows her how much he adores her and this scares her sometimes, especially when she still has reservations about her future. But he wants to prove that he’s there to stay and won’t ever let her go. Some of their scenes are extremely emotional.

So much happens in this book, but all the characters show their immense love for each other. Although there is much more drama and intense situations, the comedic element that we were introduced to in Heartless is still present. The interactions between Charlie and Jules are just as laugh-inducing as before, perfect for lending a level of lightness to the story.

There were times when Charlie’s actions and reactions made me want to strangle her, but then I sat back and could understand her feelings. She has had to deal with so much at such a young age and this has caused her to struggle between being a young woman and an adult. This, though, did not detract from the love I felt for this character. You can’t help but empathize with her and her struggles. She demonstrates the inner strength she has and cheering her on is a must.

This story had several twists and turns that were definitely unexpected, but added to the intrigue of Charlie’s past.

The book does not end in a cliffhanger, but it does give way for a third book. It will definitely leave you wanting to know more about all these wonderful characters.

I was pulled right into this story. This story has laughs and heartbreak. This is an emotionally driven story.

This is Charlie and Sam’s story. Charlie has had a touch life. She has never allowed herself to feel love. Sam is now in her life and shaking up all her feelings. He was persistent in making her see she could have a happy ending. But she has secrets that could destroy everything... Will she push everyone away thinking she does not deserve them?

Sam was swoon worthy. You can really empathize with Charlie throughout the story. The story was nail biting leading up to the end. The ending is satisfying but I can’t wait to read the continuation of their story in the next book. I really enjoyed the heart to heart talks that Sam and Charlie’s father Joe had.
.

I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this series.

Yet again I was sat crying whilst reading this. It was even more heartbreaking then the first book.
The chemistry between Charlie and Sam is wonderful and so real it mirrors what's happens in the real world too

So Charlie has a secret that she hasn't told Sam yet but went running to her best friend who is a little jealous of her relationship with him. Sam hares the fact that there meant to be a partnership between him and charlie and can't understand why she runs to Jules all the time. Charlie wants answers to why her grandparents turned there back on her mum what she gets isn't what she hoped for and her hand is forced when she gets back and Sam finds out what's bugging her.

I was lucky enough to get to beta read this book. This series is sweet, yet gritty. Sad, yet hopeful. Dramatic, yet realistic. The books are all of these things, because the heroine is all of these things. She is young but, due to circumstances beyond her control, mature beyond her years.

And the hero? Sam is swoon worthy in every way. If I could pluck him from the pages and insert him into my life, I would. (Though my husband might not appreciate that sentiment. LOL). Put it on your TBR!

Make sure you read book one, Heartless before you read this book. I loved Heartless and was looking forward to reading this book. The author didn't disappoint as this was a great read.

This book is a continuation of Charlie and Sams story. It's a brilliantly emotionally charged story The characters came across as real and relatable. The great storyline had me gripped.

This is the continuation of Sam and Charlie's story. What happens when Charlie falls deathly ill? Will unforeseen circumstances make things harder? What will happen when Charlie tracks down her long lost, missing grandparents? Will things to the way she envisioned, or awry? What happens when the shit hits the fan and Sam learns of everything Charlie has been keeping from him? Will he be happy or mad? Find out in the last book of the series.

WOW!! Where to even start with this book! You will love and hate the character. You will find yourself starting this book and having a hard time laying it down. I have had trouble with not picking it back up and reading it again. But I haven't read the first in this series, so I will move on to it. But if you are looking for a book that will take you on an emotional journey of love and hate, go no further!

★✩★✩★ 5++ Gut-wrenching, tear-filled & beautiful Stars
~this review may contain minor spoilers~

“Sure, Doc. Whatever you say. I'm already bionic enough you might as well cal me Data and beam me up Scotty. I don't need another hunk of metal in me telling my heart when to beat.”
“You may not have a choice, Charlie. We're running out of options....”

After a whole lotta struggle, and some serious tears, Charlie is finally at a place in her life where she is allowing herself to hope about her future, something she has never done before, and it's all thanks to Sam. He brings her a sort of peace she has never felt before, he surrounds her with a love she never thought possible, and she finally sees that maybe she will be able to pull through the darkness....
Until the unexpected happens and her health is threatened in a whole new way. With this new complication Charlie finds herself falling back in old habits, keeping everyone in the dark and outright lying. She knows she needs to let them all know whats going on, she HATES lying to Sam, but she just doesn't want to hurt anyone anymore. What she doesn't realize is she's hurting Sam more by keeping things from him; he can see right through her and knows she's hiding something major but can't seem to get through to her. Will Charlie eventually learn that the road ahead may be a little easier to travel with those she loves by her side? Will she push Sam too far away or will she finally start to fight for him the way he has always fought for her? Will she be too late???

“we have no idea what tomorrow brings. So, take this advice. I beg you. Don't waste time. Tell everyone how you feel. Do the things you wants to do. Live. Thrive. Be the woman I know you are. Don't let bitter, nasty people bring you down. I want the world for you.”

Whenever I fall so completely in love with a story, group of characters, and Author, after the very first book like I did with 'Heartless', there is always a certain amount of trepidation going into the next book. I always wonder if they will be able to deliver the same amount of genius, stay true to the story, yet still bring something new to the table; I can tell you with all honesty that Vanessa Marie did not disappoint with this book. She brought me to my knees more than once and pulled some pretty intense reactions outta me. This is one of those books that you just have to take as they come to truly experience the emotions you are forced to live through, and you will feel every damn minute of it. There will be plenty of laughs as there always is with this group of people, but there is also a constant edge of fear, sadness, and the frustration will beat you upside the head. I hate to admit this but, Charlie flat-out pissed me off... often. I vaguely understood where she was coming from, as much as one who has never been in her situation can understand, but that doesn't change the fact that the girl clung to her stubbornness like a spider-monkey. She refused to see what was staring her in the face where Sam was concerned and put him through hell in the process, you could feel his pain, helplessness, and frustration leaping off the pages. Broke. My. Damn. Heart. And yes-it pissed me way the hell off. But that is the beauty of this story; none of that changed how much I loved Charlie, a sassy little freak like that doesn't come around very often and all I could do was hope she would pull her head out of her ass and pray that everything worked out well for her, because in the end ~ the girl deserved some real happiness. I am also man enough to admit that I cried like a bitch for the ENTIRE last chapter; Thank You very much for that Ms. Vanessa. She has proved beyond a shadow of a doubt exactly why she is sitting pretty on top of my One-Click-Addiction List and I CANNOT WAIT to see what she brings us next.

“I don't know what I did to deserve you.”
“I really wish you'd stop thinking things like that and understand that we're in this together. I love you, Charlie, and I'm not going anywhere no matter how hard you push me. I'm going to push back.”

Holy book hangover! This second book in Vanessa Marie’s Chasing Hearts Series blew me away! I loved the first book, Heartless, but Breathless is very aptly named as it stole my breath. You continue with Sam and Charlie (Charlotte) and their relationship. In this book, everyone faces the hard truth that Charlie needs a heart transplant but she needs help getting there. She needs to have a procedure done to help ensure she lives long enough to get a new heart. Then…life happens and Charlie finds herself in a situation she never thought she’d be in. Charlie goes on an incredible and emotional journey to find the truth about her mother and her family that will make you cry, scream, shout and want to smack someone. You’ll also laugh at Jules and his attempt to be funny at the most inappropriate times, as well as love how Sam wants to take care of Charlie. This book takes you on an amazing ride that will definitely leave you breathless.

Let’s talk about the plot. It’s perfect. It picks up from the first book wonderfully and doesn’t leave any holes or any unanswered questions. You get more growth in the story and find out all sorts of yummy details about Charlie’s mother and her past. There were twists and turns that made me want to just devour the book. It was a serious struggle to stop reading to eat, clean, sleep and whatever else I had to do. I wanted to know more.

What about the characters? In the first book they grew, but in this book it felt like they grew even more. Charlie learned to let people in instead of doing things on her own. Now whether or not she did that all the time, well, read the book to find out. That girl is as stubborn as a mule and I love it. Sam also grows even more. He goes through a period where he feels that Charlie turns to Jules more than him, and his jealousy teaches him that there will be times that she needs to do that. Jules also grows and learns that Charlie needs Sam just as much, if not more, than himself but that doesn’t change their friendship.

The end of the book isn’t a cliffhanger, but I sense there is potential hopefully for a third book…or maybe I just really want there to be more books because I love this series and Vanessa Marie. You do need to read Heartless first in order to understand this book. I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing it, so check out my review for the first book as well. Pick up both books and make sure you have plenty of solitude and nothing to do but read.

Breathless by Vanessa Marie is book two in the Chasing Hearts Series. Vanessa Marie has a way of writing the story that has you grabbing for a tissue while making you smile at the exact same time. This story picked up right where the first book left and I devoured it in one sitting. This book was a 3.5 star read for me and I would recommend that everyone read the amazing love story of Sam and Charlie; a teacher/student romance that is like none other that you have read.

Charlie continues to struggle with her heart disease in Breathless and she is told by her doctor that she needs to go on the transplant list. A transplant is no longer a possible method of treatment but it is the only method of treatment at this point. Unable to grasp this news, Charlie shares it with no-one, not even Sam who has stood by her side through all of the ups and down of her illness; loving her even more because of it.

Spending time with her friends and Sam, Charlie tries to wrap her head around needing a transplant in order to live when she discovers a truth that she never expected; making her life come full circle to the mother that she never knew. Keeping the news from Sam, Charlie tries to come to terms with the idea that once she tells Sam that she is carrying his child, he will want to ensure her life and not the life of their unborn child.

Breathless continues with Charlie doing everything that she can; both physically and mentally to carry the baby to term in order to ensure that both her and the baby survive the delivery. Sam presents a strong front of support for Charlie, but inside he is just as scared as she is about the baby. The love that Charlie and Sam have for each other, even if it began with a lie of omission is one that will tear at your heartstrings more than once while reading. It gives hope where it seems all hope is lost for a future that Charlie never expected to have; accepting the idea that she would live a short life because of her failing heart. Little did she know that her heart was big enough to help her through any challenge she would face; especially with Sam by her side.

When I read Vanessa Marie's debut novel, Heartless, I was so pleasantly surprised. I found it to be such a well written, Inspirational and touching story with memorable characters. I fell in love with them all and could not wait to get my hands on the follow up book. I needed more of their journey.....

In Breathless, the bickering, banter, sweetness and all consuming love is back. This is one cast of characters, I can't seem to get enough of... the whole crew is back and brought their A game. Charlie and her best friend Jules continue with their potty mouths and low blows that will have you laughing out loud. Charlie and her boyfriend Sam's relationship is still going strong. Their love is beautiful and often difficult. Due to Charlie's thick head! Sam's patience and devotion to her will be tested, but will leave you breathless. He continues to amaze me. I absolutely love Sam and he continues to implanted himself further into my heart!! He is everything Charlie needs. Life seems to be going good for her. But don't be fooled, it isn't all fun and games. They aren't out of the woods yet! Charlie knows all too well, how fast life can change in an instant. The story is more emotional and takes a formidable life changing turn. Life has never gone Charlie's way. She is always looking over her shoulder as death looms near. Poor girl, when will it end? Will she ever find hope to look for a future? Or will it all be taken away?

Callie and Joe remain pillars of strength and support. The unconditional love between all of the characters is unequivocal. They are always their for each other. Through good and bad. As intense as this book can get the humor throughout never made it feel too heavy. There a few plots twists that keep you on your toes... We get deeper into their lives and their pasts.

I have a feeling this is just the tip of the iceberg. I can only imagine what book three will bring.... I am excited to see what's next!

This book takes us to the brink of death. It makes you re-think priorities and live in the here and now.
Breathless is an emotionally driven read. Charlie has her good friends, Sarah and Julian. She is getting closer with Alex and she is able to start moving forward with Sam, since he is no longer her teacher.
Fate plays a very cruel trick on Charlie, she finds out sometimes history does repeat itself. She now seems to be on the same track as her mother that only has one end in sight. Instead of seeking help and guidance from her very supportive friends and family, she decides she needs to handle this on her own.
In this book we also learn more into the history of Charlie’s mom and dad. What took place at her birth as well as learning more into her grandparents that disowned her at birth, but set up a trust fund for her future.
Sam is amazing. He is gorgeous, caring, faithful and loyal. Charlie is the love of his life but she has to learn to except help and seek help instead of pushing everyone away.
Charlie’s grows a lot throughout this book. She makes huge strides in becoming a stronger individual and letting others help her. She remains stubborn and smart-mouthed. But it was amazing to witness her growth in her relationship with Sam and as a person living with extreme health issues. No matter how hard Charlie would push Sam away or say ‘no’ he didn’t give up he was determined to prove his love. He was so heart-warming to witness.
I can’t wait to see what is in store for Charlie, Sam and their family in the next book in the series.

Breathless....well what an appropriate title...because it sure did leave me Breathless...I loved this one! I feel in love with Sam and Charlie in Heartless but man oh man this one just blew me away!! Sam is totally swoon worthy, he is passionate, sweet, kind, caring, HOT, oh and did I mention HOT?? He is amazing and I can't wait to see more of him in book 3!! Charlie well she is one bad ass leading lady. The struggles that she faces will have anyone ready to give up, but she fights! She doesn't let anyone of anything stand in her way, she truly is an amazing lady and I can't wait to see what life has in store for her!

I can't get enough of Jules...he is such a character...talk about humor..man he puts a whole new meaning of the word.......I loved the whole crew...well their might have been one person in the book that I would love to see get hit in the face...with a truck....but I guess you have a few bad apples that were just meant to be rotten.
I Love, love, love, LOVE the kitchen scene....man my Kindle was SMOKING!!! :) Hope that steam carries over to the next book!!

This book is Very well written. There is humor, sass, and class! Vanessa Marie has done an excellent job and I look forward to reading more from her in the future!!! If you love a good romance that is so much more than that, this one is for you!!

Author Vanessa Marie hit it out of the ball park with Breathless.

I fell in love with Sam and Charlie in the previous book, anxiously awaiting book 2. I needed to know how these two were holding up. To know Charlie was okay, to see where Vanessa took us on this journey.

I was blown away. I was knocked in the face and fell backwards, hit my head and screamed "PLOT TWIST!!" I didn't see that coming. After that I was just more sucked into this book. I had to know how it all ends.

Charlie is questioning her father and aunt for questions. Questions about her mother and her grandparents, but will the outcome destroy her more than the not knowing?

With Charlie's heart, New procedures coming in the near future, can Sam hang onto her? Will she slip out of his grasp, let her sickness defy her?

You'll have to pick Breathless up to find out. I'm impatiently waiting for book three. I need it like yesterday.

I rate this book 5 fangs (stars).
This is book 2 in the Chasing Hearts series, if you have not read book 1 (Heartless) then you must, you won't regret it! As I said in my review of book 1, this is not my usual genre so I was skeptical, but after the first few chapters I was hooked! I could not wait to start this book and learn more about the adventures of Charlie and Sam. I felt like I knew these characters personally. I was rooting for them to live happily ever after. I enjoyed Charlie's banter with Jules, some of their comments to each other are priceless! I liked that in this book you see some vulnerability in Charlie and what real love can do to/for you. I was hoping that there would not be a tragic ending, because I want to read more from this series and watch the characters grow with each other.
I highly recommend this book!

I love this story.. we got to take a full ride on the medical journey in this story, because with Heartless we got some basic medical information but not like breathless to point where you feel like your that person in the room hearing it.. I cried after the first page I swear Sam needs to grow some balls he was a pussy throughout this book whining about jules & Charli friend. um hello dude you just met her about a year ago why would she tell you every little thing.. I felt sorry for jules through this book I wish he would've told to sam to go shove it I truly hope in the next book Jules wont be treated like he was in this (hope he gets his HEA) & i truly lost respect for Charli because of this situation

Thank you Vanessa Marie for the ARC copy!

I have completely fallen in love with Charlie and her family! I couldn't wait for this book to come out, and it did not disappoint. I have never wanted to both strangle and hug a character as much as Charlie! She is real, Broken, scarred, and beautiful.

I do think the ending wrapped up a bit too quickly. But that may be because with this family, you never want the story to end! Can't wait for FEARLESS!!

I enjoyed the uniqueness of the first book. This book just seemed to reach and try to stir the pot, but not wholeheartedly. It felt like, of we need drama, let's throw this in. ....oh yeah, let's do this too.
The lack of growth or character development was just meh. I appreciated that Sam did try to mature the relationship but it just didn't work, felt forced.
Book just fell flat for me

Wow honestly I didn't expect this good. Heads up ladies you need a massive tons of tissues before reading this. I enjoyed it so much. I laugh and at the same cried for Charlie and Sam. I really like Jules it really changes the sad scenery all together. Is this the last series? Is there more? You really don't disappoint your readers Vanessa. Job well done.

I loved this two book series.

I understood why she was stubborn, I just wish she would let people help her more often.

I wish there was more of an epilogue. I wanted to read her coming home and living with Sam and their little girl.
