*** Great beginning to Noah Harris' new series ! ***
This is an unusual tale of Jack and Calvin,
Jack

Calvin

partners heading out on an adventure to try new jobs, be together, and find peace.
Their new boss, Kurt, is elusive, but they work hard, prove themselves, and discover a mystery on Copper Hill Farm. This is well written, with deep, interesting characters and super hot sex scenes. The men are dedicated to one another and their work. Both are attracted to their big, silvery-haired, older rancher/businessman.

Eventually the paranormal werewolf activities are revealed, and there is the addition of M/M/M sex. The history of the family lycanthropy is detailed. Of course, with this being the first book in the series, that information will be needed as we progress.
Werewolf stories are always exciting,

always sexy, and we're told of witches and vampires, too. Noah Harris has an enticing way of telling his tales that hold our attention. Will these men figure out a way to expand Kurt's pack??; because he's the only one left...
ENJOY !

I loved the characters in this book, but the plotting was so disappointing that the overall book was only ok.

First the things that I just didn't like about this book:
1. Is Kurt proud of his shifter heritage? Or is he ashamed? He alternately refers to it as either a curse or onus, and then will talk about it as a birthright. It was very confusing and seemed to indicate that the author started the story with it one way and then changed his mind about it during the course of the story, but didn't edit the change throughout.
2. Why didn't Calvin & Jack ever ask if lycanthropy was contagious, in any way, when they first learned about Kurt? That would be the very first question/concern that I would have!
3. Why didn't Kurt seem to know the contents of his library? And if he was so set against Calvin & Jack becoming weres, wouldn't he have tried to restrict their access to those books?
4. And on that subject, why didn't Kurt want them to become weres? What were these risks that he constantly harped about, but never explained?
5. Why were we given the impression that lycanthropy couldn't be easily communicated, and even that it required the spell originally done to create a were, but then find out that the typical bite can do the job, but that that method is socially frowned upon?
6. Why did we have absolutely no indication of any kind of supernatural ruling council until the epilogue?
7. What evidence was ever given to us that attempting the magic of the first spell was actually dangerous? It felt very much that Kurt said it, and so it must be true, and we (and Calvin & Jack) shouldn't question it.
8. Finally, and most annoyingly, this book rushed through the subjects that I thought were interesting (i.e. Calvin discovering the library contents and researching actual were history beyond hearsay from Kurt, or Calvin & Jack's concerns over their relationship) but dragged us through inconsequential parts of their lives without even going into detail about it.

Having said all of that, there were however, parts that I loved about this book as well. The biggest plus about this book is the excellent, relatable characters that Noah created. I loved all three MCs, I understood their motivations, and felt that each of them responded reasonably to their circumstances (except where noted above). I loved that Calvin and Jack were devoted to one another, and yet, that both of them also had realistic insecurities that helped make them more empathetic. I also laughed out loud when one of them referred to the original witches who created the lycanthropy spell (who had been described as being wise and brave) as "cultish tarts"!

Well, what can I say about this book without being overly negative? 🤔 I had so many issues with this book and after thinking on it for almost 24 hours I still cannot get the bad gone from my brain.

1) I've read quite a few Paranormal romances where the human completely accepts the shifter world immediately with only a handful of questions. I might have just gone with it if not for the beastiality. That's right kids, man changes to werewolf and other man does not cry out in terror but cries out "F*** Me!" instead. While first man was in werewolf form. If that wasn't bad enough first man, upon finishing off continues to shift until he is a 4 legged wolf. At which point the boyfriend of the "F*** Me!" guy joins in and lifts up the wolf's tail and, despite having some reservations, sexes up the wolf. "Don't worry Jack. It's really Kurt!" 🤢

2) (as if #1 wasn't bad enough) The author made all of our standard shifter world rules voided. Alphas? Don't exist. Fated mates? No mates that I can see. Changing at the full moon? Well that one sorta was there but instead of on the full moon for one night it seems to be a solid 5 to 7 nights where Kurt goes fuzzy and extremely horny. Or maybe that last one was because of the boys being there. By boys I don't mean children but millennials. But don't worry when he comes down from his rabid 5 day stiffy he takes a day of rest dubbed Lazy Sunday (no matter what day of the week it really is.)

3) OH and Werewolves apparently give off some super-mega-mega pheromones (aka Compulsion) making the ones afflicted by the Compulsion mindless sex addicts looking for their fix. But don't worry it's only really bad during the werewolf's monthly menses....I mean Shifting.

4) All of the characters were some of the weakest men I've read about.... ever. The strongest character seemed to be Stacy, Kurt's niece-in-law but she didn't have many pages so she barely counts. Calvin has an anxiety disorder that is played off as him overreacting to just about everything. Jack is a wannabe alpha man/Dom with only a leather harness and matching collar in his repertoire and virtually no pages dedicated to explaining any experiences with the BDSM community. Kurt is an almost 50 year old Silver Fox (er Silver Wolf) with no family left (they've all died) who only wants a pack of his own. He set things in motion to get Cal and Jack to become part of his pack but then became a melancholy emotional mess when Cal and Jack said yes. All of a sudden he and his Compulsioning juju didn't want to trap the boys into something they don't want to do. But at least Kurt has is booming laugh and jovial personality....um most of the time anyway.

5) Very little background on the characters. We had more on Cal than Kurt and zero on Jack. It's like Jack didn't exist before Calvin. Also when the boys did ask questions about Kurt and his nature and the background of Lycanthropy I got a long drawn out lecture of 400 years worth of werewolf history. I'm actually guessing on the 400 years because I totally skipped reading the lecture...both of them. Because why not bore your readers to sleep not only once but twice? Because I skipped several pages of crap this could be why I didn't know there was a werewolf council. Which leads me to....

6) The End.... well actually not as the epilogue contains a cliffhanger. The boys want to join Kurt's pack. Apparently you don't have to be born a werewolf you can become one (yes we Readers know this).... but then why is Kurt's family all dying out? Hmmmmm? 🤔
So this cliffhanger.... the council is coming to determine if the boys can become pack. Or if all else fails Kurt can bite them instead but this is frowned upon. Once again...why is Kurt's family line dying? I effing don't know. So *dingdong* (gasp) the council is here. The End. Really? This effing book! Now I'm going to have to read book 2. Nope there isn't one. This book came out almost 6 years ago and even though GoodReads clearly says it's book #1 in the Copper Hill series there is literally no series. This Mother Effing book! 🤬

Ride Em Hard is the first book in the MMM Copper Hill Series by Noah Harris. This is one hot and steamy book with plenty of ménage action, but that isn’t all that the book is about. There is also a beautiful story about a pair of secret lovers (Calvin and Jack) that have moved to the Texas Hill Country to take dream jobs at one of the most prestigious racing stables in Texas, The Copper Hill Ranch, and be able to live their lives in the open. Calvin and Jack have a wonderful relationship that is pretty stable until they meet their employer Kurt Van Der Akker. Kurt is a werewolf and the last of his pack. He is lonely and wants to build himself a new pack and thinks that Calvin and Jack are just what he is looking for. Through Compulsion he will influence their sex lives and enhance their attraction to him. However, he finds out that Calvin and Jack are devoted to him and their new relationship even without the compulsion. I loved this story and how devoted and caring Calvin and Jack were to Kurt, and I would love to read more about them. Thank you, Noah Harris, for another excellent new series. I can’t wait to see where you take them. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I voluntarily read this ARC story and had a hard time with it at first. I am not one to like manages so I read it because I am an ARC reader for thsi author. I really liked Jack and Calvin. They had kept their secrets well about their relationship while in college and now was going to the Copper Hill Ranch to start their new careers and obtain their freedom from holding their secrets so close to their chests. Their boss Kurt is a charismatic man and they both are sexually drawn to him. Quickly they fall under his spell. Trouble brews for the two men as they openly yearn for the huge and handsome boss. They start fighting because Calvin has heard and seen a huge wolf-like creature out in the fields in the early morning and Jack won't believe him. Kurt pulls them ever closer into his web of sex and debauchery, while feeling guilty at the same time. As the end of this first book draws to a close, the three men are working together toward a goal that is going to take them down a path of magic and history. By the time I reached the end of this book, I actually was eager to get to the next one as the three men become more than s sexual triangle with a common goal.

“You two were like a key to a lock I didn’t know was fastened around my neck…”
I enjoyed this book, and was fascinated by the attraction between these three men. Anxious to start building their lives together, Calvin and Jack head out to Copper Hill ranch where everything they held to be true about the world gets challenged by their boss, Kurt. As they settle in and find themselves inexplicably drawn to their boss and powerless to retain their inhibitions, things spiral fairly rapidly but despite the stress, I never found myself questioning whether Calvin and Jack’s relationship worked with just the two of them or whether the introduction of a third would cause problems and compromise what they already have. As much as I could feel the stress of them trying to understand what was going on, I found myself empathizing with Kurt, who is plagued by self doubt and guilt about the situation with his new employees. The first in the series, I’m looking forward to reading what’s next for this threesome, we’re off to a really spicy start.

Great trio

Younger male couple, Calvin and Jack, are off to make a new life. These guys are pretty awesome. Cute, a little nerdy, kinky, but loveable. Working on a ranch ais a lot of hard work, which makes less time for loving. I completely understand how work gets in the way of relationships. The real twist comes when the guys meet their boss, Kurt. He is charming, charismatic, and hot, especially for an older gentleman. I like how he has such humility even though he is rich and is worldly. These three are a perfect fit and so fun to read about.

DNF. Too many plot holes that were initially mysterious but became irritatingly unfulfilled . My biggest dislike were the characters. Kurt was an alpha that was conflicted about his inner werewolf. He came across predatory, bullying, arrogant and deceptive. I just wasn't convince he could be loving and trustworthy. Calvin was an insecure mess, a mistaken attempt for submissive. Jack apparently was created to be more stead worthy in order to balance out Calvin's nervy character.

What the fuck did I just read?? Abondoning it after the first threesome for being both mindnumbingly boring and excessively weird. I don't even know.

Summary:
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Jack and Calvin accepted job offers that took them on a journey to the Texas Hill country working for a reclusive and mysterious man Kurt Van Der Akker. Little was known about him, but the offer was a dream come true for them. At first, they were concerned that their sexual orientation could cause problems, but they quickly learned that their fears were unfounded. Besides working very heard everything was perfect until Calvin heard strange and scary howling in the dead of the night. Add to that an unexpected attraction they felt towards Kurt adding to their confusion. The many paranormal issues that were alluded to were fascinating added depth the plot.

I enjoyed they loving banter between Calvin, Jack and Kurt that brought fun at unusual times. The frequent sexual encounters brought to life the growing feelings between the three. While I enjoyed these scenes, delving more into Kurt's past would have allowed the reader a better understanding into the man that he was. I was very happy to learn that this is only the first book in the series and I for one can't wait to see what happens next.

I must say, this was not quite what I expected for a story with the title Ride Em Hard. After reading it I can see where the title came from (ha-ha). It’s an interesting story about a werewolf, Kurt, who’s the last of his family ancestors that misses and craves his own pack.

Calvin and Jack had been lovers throughout college and had to hide their secret from the world, and had parents that were not accepting of their sexuality. They were both hired for their skills by Copper Hill Ranch after graduation which was a prestige well know ranch in Texas. This was the two’s new start on life, because they are accepted as a gay couple and would have their own house to live in on the ranch.

Once they showed up, they are astounded by what is offer to them with a beautiful cottage and jobs of a life time with a large salary. They would be able to sock away their money into savings. They got more than they bargained for when they later learn their boss was a werewolf that has been compelling them to have sex with him. It’s pretty involved how he does it and is sorry for doing so after, but he does end up winning Calvin over and then Jack and there threesome begins.

I wasn’t sure how to envision Kurt in his werewolf form. I believe he was more of a man-wolf then a full looking wolf especially to be able to have sex with the two men in his wolf form. Which I must say was a little weird for me. I also wasn’t sure I liked the whole threesome orgy scenes. I prefer the monogamy relationships, but this threesome seemed to work.

I guess the whole wolf sex didn’t feel right for me and a little too out there for me. The two men wanted to become his pack, but the twist of Kurt not wanting to bite the two men seemed weird where he wanted the acceptance of his higher council. I wasn’t sure what they would do to make the two men werewolves if they were accepted. Also the ending could have been done better. It left me wanting more information if Calvin and Jack were accepted or not and what happened with the whole turnout.

All in all it was a decent story, though for some reason I felt Noah Harris, as a very good writer, could have done better with it and especially the ending. Hence the four stars.

¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)
(¸.•´ (¸.•` ღ I am usually all over Noah's book like a rash and this one was no different... Oh hell no, it wasn't. The concept...weird as ever. Paranormal, and confusing. It was all over the place. But I could just not put it down.

A slow start, it featured lovers Jack and Calvin running away together to build a life away from the uncertainty that was an unforgiving family. They had kept their relationship under wraps due to homophobia and a division of class.

Coming to Texas should have been their lifeline, but it became a confusing, and somewhat perilous journey. The ranch they both worked on was huge and ran by a powerful billionaire of a man named Kurt.

And then the mystery began with sightings and sounds and theory. The guys began to pull away from each other, yet found themselves the object of lust for their boss. Say what? I pulled my hair out at the loss of these two slowly allowing the work of the estate, the strangeness of what was happening and the need and want of their boss.

Different, but not so from other PRN that I have read, this one delved into history and pack building and confronting a were sexually. It was hot, and steamy and a work of Noah.

I had to brace myself and take it all in and nod. Cus Noah does not do anything half stepping. He made a loving twosome a working threesome with all the angst and thought provoking stubbornness.

Do the guys get to HEA? Will it even work when one is were and the other humans? And considering it is book one, what is next?

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.

This was another great MM Paranormal novel from Noah Harris. He never disappoints as he brings the world of
Paranormal shifters to light in this extremely HOT and heart wrenching story. Kurt is a billionaire werewolf who owns one of the biggest farms in the world. He is now the last of his pack and yearns to enlarge this pack. He
Hires two men, Calvin and Jack, who are bringing animal husbandry and Agri-science to the farm. The two are a couple and excited to come to the Texas Hill Country to start a new life with their relationship and a great job. When they make it to the farm they meet Kurt who is an extremely handsome man with a hugh presence. Large and a bit intimidating. The two are feeling a strong attraction to Kurt, not understanding what is happening. As they are made aware of who Kurt really is, the three become even closer. This is a great story of the Power that this werewolf has over them mixed with their own natural instincts and desires. HOT SEX and amazing transformation of a relationship that was meant to be. Don't miss this awesome book. Noah Harris is one of the great paranormal writers of our time. Highly recommend this book and HIS WORKS❤️

These guys were in love and they had to move to the other side of the country to be a couple, hoping people would accept their sexuality. They get a job to work in Texas at the Copper Hill Ranch in their chosen fields. Great money, a good home for them, and many amenities awaits Calvin and Jack. Different in looks as night and day they have a love that is true to each other. This great new start is all they need to be happy.

Wolf sounds and howls in the night, start to awaken Calvin and place some fears and doubts in his mind. They get summons to met their great benefactor and boss Kurt. He starts compelling them to want and need him. Unbeknownst to Calvin and Jack their boss is a wolf shifter, they start having feelings for him. A couple becomes a hot threesome, little bondage action all good stuff. Kurt has one need he wants a pack.

I enjoyed reading the story immensely great characters: cowboys and shifters. What not to love, men being men.

When I started this book I wasn't exactly sure where it was going to go. The further I read the more I liked the concept. Jack and Calvin knew their stuff in reference to their jobs, had to hide their relationship before they arrived at Kurt's ranch, but once there , they could live openly. You could see the attraction between the three instantaneously and we got to see how Jack and Calvin handled being in love with each other, yet being attracted to Kurt, a much older but still hot, older man. The story unfolded and then the "real" story Kurt had to tell emerged and WHAT a story it is! I will not tell what that is but suffice it to say it's a doozy!. I was a bit thrown off by the beastiality of the story but after a while it was "what the heck, if it works for them who am I to judge" kinda thing. This was a great read and I do recommend it to anyone who likes three hot guys falling for each other and not being afraid to show it 5 or even 10 times in one night...only with a were can that be possible...lol

This story started a bit different than the rest of Noah Harris’ stories. There is a wonderful, poetic style in his writing. I love that! I realize this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but for me it hooked me right in. I couldn’t put the book down. The maturity of the two men, Calvin and Jack, and the fact that they are committed in their relationship only helped solidify my love for their story. It isn’t hard for the reader to comprehend how in love these two men are.

Then we meet Mr. Kurt. Right away I could tell he would make the story complete for me. He only helped to solidify Calvin’s and Jack’s relationship. He absolutely completed their triad. I’ll admit there are some scenes in the story that aren’t for all readers. In a case like this, I would like to say, please keep an open mind. After all, you are reading a shifter/werewolf/paranormal story.

Thank you for a fantastic story Mr. Harris, I look forward to seeing more of Calvin, Jack and Kurt in my future. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book.

So first off, let me say that I love menage/polyamorous stories. They are my favorites so I was very excited to read this new story from Noah Harris. It started out great. Very detailed and in depth. I really liked the chemistry between Jack and Calvin. It was nice that this story started out with a settled couple. Introducing the mysterious and very compelling Kurt Van Der Akker went wonderfully. Even though Jack and Calvin loved each other, they were both drawn to their new boss and were very confused by it. Then it turns out the new boss is a werewolf, hence the compulsion to be near him. What ensues after Calvin finds out about Kurt can be considered a bit taboo. I love werewolf/shifter stories. But this one kind of pushed the boundaries a bit. I'm not saying it wasn't a good story, just a bit....more than I was expecting. I really enjoyed the story and was happy with the ending though.

MMM Shifter. Calvin and Jack kept their relationship secret and decided to move west to the Texas Hill Country. They both were hired on to one of the most prestigious ranches in the country, Copper Hill. Fresh out of college, they’re excited and look forward to a more open lifestyle. They work hard and want to impress their boss, the reclusive and enigmatic Kurt Van Der Akker. Things move quickly, and in no time at all, strange beasts howling in the night and an unexplained attraction to the boss have Calvin and Jack’s heads spinning. Jack and Calvin cannot quite believe what is happening and the truth of Kurt's deep secret. It is almost too unbelievable and too good to be true. This is book 1, but the ending is still satisfying and looking to see where the future has in store for Calvin, Jack, and Kurt.

This book slowly sucked me in, utterly and completely, combining cowboys with shifters and some light BDSM is perfect. Jack and Calvin have finished university and landed themselves with the perfect jobs, together, at Copper Hill ranch, Texas. The ideal opportunity to embrace their relationship without the stigma associated with the past. But all is not as it seems. Ranch owner Kurt Van Der Akker has an emotional, alterior motive for bringing the two of them to his ranch. What is this incredible 'compulsion' that Jack and Calvin feel? What is Kurt's end game? This book is 'compulsive', it has to be read! Brilliant, well written and just different enough to make the story unique, it really made me desire a lot more from Copper Hill ranch! This is a good story of Jack and Calvin and journey to Copper Hill Ranch in Texas to new jobs. Jack has second thoughts as they venture closer to their destination, but knows this is a new beginning for them away from their family. The first morning was awaking by howling that tottally freaks out Calvin.. Calvin studied Veterinary while Jack studied Genetics making them a perfect team for the Ranch.
Kirt the owner of the Ranch is an recluse but they both notice his big powerful eyes over a dinner meeting. It seems since they arrived they'd worked with no play but that changes too. Kirt has a secret that is slowly being unleashed (pun intended) on the two guys.
This was a great book which kept me reading till the end, but I must emit that the tales of Kirt's fore-lore lost me a bit towards the end. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next book.

Nothing better than a good romp in the hay!

Once their paths merge, their individual wants and needs crash headlong into one another... threatening to push them apart. Ultimately, with Kurt's secret revealed, Jack and Cal arrive upon a discovery. To achieve what each individually desires, all three journeys must converge into one so that a common destination is reached... and three hearts find a home.

Noah Harris just proved once again why he is on my top author list for shifter ROMANCE. After the Sailing Deep books I didn't think anything could match the level and intensity. I was dead Wrong. This book was incredible and HOT! HOT! HOT!

Calvin and Jack basically running away from everything so that they don't have to hide in the closet. They fall.onto a dull routine until a certain night of the full moon, danger is lurking and they don't even know it. When they find the truth about bossman, feelings get discussed. The truth comes out, and when it does, we get the hot, primal side of Kurt that you can't get enough of.

This one I will admit wasn't my favorite by Noah however it was still very good. I loved the guys... and I loved Kurt... I felt like he was kinda taking advantage of their attraction by using his compulsion on them a little bit.. I understand that it only enhanced what they wanted but it felt a bit off sometimes.. However about halfway through the book I started feeling all 3 and their love.. I started feeling what I was hoping would happen and it turned out amazing. I ended up loving the story except the ending which left me with a cliffhanger wondering what is going to happen next. I enjoyed it and am glad I got to review it

Calvin and Jack are heading towards their new opportunity in Copper Hill, there they don't have to hide their relationship from others and have jobs fresh out of college. Copper Hill presented the young lovers with challenges the never expected since they were doing so well at their job they attracted the attention of their boss. That would have been fine for most people but both Calvin and Jack are romantically attracted to their boss and its putting a strain on their relationship. When they thought their relationship would crumble their boss was the one who saved them and made them whole.

This is an intriguing and interesting book to read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it even through it ended in a cliffhanger. What you will find in this book is: two secret lovers (Calvin & Jack), a reclusive boss (Kurt Van Der Akker), drama, intrigue, mystery, secrets, attractions, werewolf, a curse, confusion, doubt, insecurities, mild BDSM, menage, lust, love, emotional feelings and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters have emotional feelings with needs and desires according to their personality. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a well written MMM book.

A book that's hard to put down once you start it. The characters have a magnetic pull and draw you further into the book page by page. When Jack and Calvin arrive at Cooper Hill the story sets on fire. weird thing happen that bring Jack and Calvin to the charismatic Kurt Van Der Akker. Light BDSM theme gives the story an edge. What does Van Der Akker want and do Jack and Calvin want the same thing? This is a strong well written book just what I always expect from a Noah Harris book.

Ride em hard was such a amazing heartwarming story I loved it

Ride em hard had me on the edge of my seat

My emotions were everywhere reading Calvin and jacks relationship start to fall apart my heart was breaking for them and then we meet Kurt who I saw as a angel watching the relationship repair but will it be OK or will Calvin and jack drift apart even more or bring them closer together

Ride em hard was so beautifully written I loved it

This book will surprise you. You think it's going to be a simple shifter threesome but it's not. Calvin, Jack, and Kurt make a great team. All while still being the great read Noah Harris is known for.
