Read in one sitting; just a short book.
The second that involves an ‘outsiders’ contact with an Amish Community following a tragic accident.
A book that shows the power of remorse and the power of forgiveness and feeling forgiven.
Freya approaches a small group of Amish dwellings knowing that within one home is an extended family she must share her story.
She fails to appreciate the beauty all around her due to the burden of guilt she carries. Then she stumbles and feels wretched.
It is almost a parable of the grief and suffering many carry around full of guilt and an unforgiving spirit.
It speaks also of the depth of compassion and belief of the Amish way of life.
Wonderfully told and a joy to read.

I am getting convinced that I am pretty cold. I don't understand all the 4 star reviews for this book. I found the writing to be sophomoric and simple. I felt like I read something that a high school student wrote for creative writing. Let's not forget this woman committed a crime that resulted in a death of a person that she just left on the side of the road. Mainly, it was the writing that had done me in. Luckily, it was a short read. Otherwise, I would have abandoned.

Well this is a short story of some 34 pages.
It reads quickly and establishes believable characters you can support and want to know their story.
It is about a woman fleeing an abusive partner who learns about forgiveness through an encounter with two brothers in an Amish community.

When they say short, they mean short and it ended with a cliff hanger. Nice story though.

Can you ever get forgiveness? Freya has been on the run for so long that she is feel relief when Adam finds her. Adam left his home to find out who killed his brother, his family has shunned him and now he needs to take Freya home to tell them what happened. Adam gave up his Amish upbringing to find
the killer and when he found Freya he was surprised that he couldn't hate her. He accepted her story and never turned her in. But she has to go make peace with his family.
Freya finds it strange that they don't want to even want to speak to him, he is their family all he wanted for peace for them. Will they understand why she never came forward can they forgive her from taking her son away?
What will the future hold for her & Adam now that she has been forgiven and accepted by his family?

Freya Wilson was on the run from her abusive fiancé when she accidentally hit and killed an Amish man, Robert Lapp. She meets his brother, Adam who left the Amish community to find his brother’s killer. This story follows Freya and Adam as they return to the Amish community. Although Freya is scared, it is time that she tells Adam’s family about what happened to Robert.
This is a short yet heartbreaking and warming story. Freya is broken by the fact that she killed Robert. You can tell that she truly did not want this to happen. Unfortunately she was trying to hide from her ex. The reactions from Aaron, Hannah, and Maria make this story even more special.
This is a wonderful story. I am really curious about the first book and will be hunting down a copy.

Freya a young woman on the run from an ex scared for her life does the unthinkable, she accidentally hits a kills an Amish man and scare her ex will find her if she calls the Cops she runs. A while later she meets Adam the brother of the Man she hit and he is now a Cop looking for justice for his brothers killer but he never thought it would be someone like Freya.
What I enjoyed most about Freya is watching how brave she was to finally go up to Adams family and tell them the story of what really happened. Then after all that she tried to get them to talk to their son that had been Sunned from the Amish. She also gained a great friend in Adam in the end. IF you like stories like this then Freya is a great short story!

Again, a cute, clean little short, very short story taking less than 20 minutes to read. It is certainly not a book, it is certainly not a novel, it is certainly not a novella and it is certainly not a manuscript. This is a little story which should be combined with a whole bunch of the author's short stories or blogs which could be called ,'A Collection of Short Amish Stories". I received this one free through a promotion and at the end of this one, it says Freya, Book 1, was free, but when I click on that link, it comes up as $1.31 Can. which would be a great price if it was a novel, but this story is no longer than most blogs.
This author has potential for writing a good, Amish novel, but 20 minutes of reading cannot be considered a book.

A very quick but heart warming story about confessions and healing. Though this is technically the second book, it can be read as a stand alone (as I happened to read it). though there isn't much to the novel, there was a decent amount of character building, especially with Freya. I am interested in reading the first book, which leads up to this one.

This is the second part of a serial story. I have not read the first part but was able to follow along well enough because the author included enough of the back story for the reader to know what was going on. I would not recommend reading the second book first. I liked the characters enough. I liked Freya because she did do what she felt was right that took integrity and was brave. I have not read this author but I would probably read her again.

I got this short story as an ARC in exchange for a voluntary review. Freya,2 yrs. before, killed an Amish man with her car while running from her ex-boyfriend who wanted to kill her. Adam talks her into going back and confessing to his family. She doesn't understand Amish culture after being forgiven.

This is a very short story, a quick glimpse into a woman coming to terms with something she had done that affected greatly the lives of others. It tugged at my heart and had me wanting to know more about Freya and Adam to see if there is a story there. I enjoyed this, and will look for more from this author.

How to rate a book that is only 17 pages long seems an impossible task.
There is no time to build the characters, plot, or anything else that could create a connection to the story in a meaningful way.
I simply did not enjoy the writing style and shortness.
The only redeeming quality is the act of forgiveness.

Freya: The Confession
A very short and clean novel. Exactly what I'd expect when reading about Amish type books. But loved it just the same.
Freya has done the worst thing possible a few years ago. Now she wants to make amends. But is her new friend correct on Amish culture. Will they forgive her? Does she has the courage to go through and confess her sin.

A quick short read. A great story about confession. Regardless if it's 1 day or 2 years confessing your sins is good for your soul and the other's that were wronged.

I loved this, the Amish are forgiving except for their own, really sad that they turn their back on family. This was a great short story A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.

Freya is driving through Amish country in an attempt to flee a violet man. It is showing hard, and she has a hard time seeing. When suddenly right before here appears a man. She can not stop/ She hits him full force. She gets out of the car to check on him and finds him dead. In terror she gets in her car and leaves him there. She is afraid if she gets arrested the man she is running from will find her and kill her.
Two years later still riddled with guilt, she comes to lay yellow roses on his grave. There she meets the man's brother that has vowed to find and punish the person who hit his brother. She knows she must tell the man that she was the one to hit his brother and ask for forgiveness or she can't go on
Read the story and find out what happens when she tells this man what she has done. It is an excellent story. Hard to put down.

Later she encounters Adam, the brother of the victim, and she begins to trust him, and even though it may cost her freedom, she believes she must tell him the truth and become unweighted from this heavy load. It is more than Adam can bear, and he leaves her standing alone, but later, he reappears to help Freya release her sorrow.
The reader will find this a gripping and challenging book, especially if they have any areas in their life where there could be any unforgiveness.

This was a super short story that I read on my nook app as it is not available in print, super super short, I also read the next one in this series but it was confusing because one of the main characters changes his occupation. I felt like I missed something between short story one and short story 2, I hope the author develops this character further and gives her and Adam a full length novel at some point. I am not a fan of short stories it just leaves me wanting more!

This is the first book in this series. It was a short story so a quick page turner. It was a sad story about an accident and forgiveness. I was hooked from the start, it held my attention the whole way through. I finished it in one sitting. I'd recommend this book to others. Can't wait to read the next book in this series.

A beautiful story of forgiveness!
Ashley Emma gives readers a view of Amish life in this story of Freya, a young woman escaping domestic violence, who makes a profound impact on the lives of the Amish Lapp family. It is a short read. Although the plot includes tragedy, it has a beautiful ending. I wish it had been longer so the whole story of Freya and Adam could be told.

I've had this story on my Kindle for some time. I don't remember how I obtained it. I am on the author's email newsletter, so I might have gotten it free from the author.
I found protagonist Freya Wilson very easy to identify with. Her situation made me sympathize with her from the outset.
I also understood and sympathized with Adam Lapp, the male protagonist.

Heart Rending & Touching
This book just breaks your heart but makes up for it by giving the heroine a courage not many have. I've also read Undercover Amish. I'd recommend both books.

Predictable but enjoyable
For an extremely short story, it was 'action packed' and heartbreaking. Predictable because it is of Amish setting but nevertheless, it was a good read and hope the sequel isn't as obvious.
