Maya has always wanted a hedgehog shifter in the Ridgeville pride. She almost stole one once, but she sorta went into labor before Operation Quill Catcher took off. Now, she wonders if having a werehedgie is all it’s cracked up to be. After “borrowing” (kidnapping and/or saving… depending on who’s asked) a werehedgehog her daughter has to run for her life, her mate has to take a life, and one of her sons thinks hedgehog is on the menu. And as for the hedgehog… she’s freaking purrfect. This short story is set in the RIDGEVILLE SERIES and does not stand alone. This is a little bite of family life for those who fell in love with the Ridgeville gang and aren’t ready to let them go. The "Ridgeville" He Ain't Lion You're Lion Ball of Furry Head Over Tail Fierce in Fur Deuces Wild Sealed with a Purr Like a Fox Big Furry Deal Lion's Honor
Quickshot Review -I needed a shifter romance palate cleanser and I find shifter romances to be fun and light enough to just hit my sweet spot. This was a Kindle Unlimited rental and it’s packed with trademark Celia Kyle humor. It’s subjective but she tends to make me laugh more than not. I thought that this was a slice of life novella (so it’s not a standalone) but it’s one that sets up future story for Ridgeville. It really worked as a story, instead of just a collection of scenes like other slice of life stories, it felt as if it had a good purpose. I’m eager to continue with this series.
If you've read this series then you will be chuffed to see the author has gone back to the beginning in some ways and gives us a brief update here on Maya and Alex. After fifteen years together some things have changed and I'm particularly referring to the three children they now have. As parents everywhere know when children come along some things just aren't as easy as before ( waggles eye brows suggestively here!) and if you add in the animalistic nature of our happy couple you will begin to understand the dilemma Maya faces. Does she quietly accept all meek and mildly ? That's a definite no and there's a lot of humour to be found in just how vehement and positively bloodthirsty Maya can be! Luckily her mate Alex knows exactly which buttons to press but trust this author to really upset the apple cart! Yes it's a steamy little read but pretty soon it escalates into a much more dangerous situation as someone pretty important goes missing riling up these big cats no end! It's a quick read and it's pretty steamy too. However the author ups the ante with a situation that could have a whole world of repercussions in the books that follow. Not my personal favourite but it was fun seeing just how crazy this Pride really are This voluntary take is of an advance reader copy Three and a half from me
This was a good book I love this series. It's 15 years later Maya and Alex the Prime and Prima of the Ridgeville pride have 3 kids the twins East and West and a eight year old daughter Harper. While trying to get their freak on with the pride outside Harper goes missing and someone is going to pay. Harper is running for her life she witnessed a murder. Alex and Maya are in full bad ass lion mode protecting their cub. Alex kills the tiger chasing his daughter. Turns out Harper has a surprise she is protecting a werehedgehog whose mother was killed by the tiger. Harper is so protective that when her brother tries to go after her new friend she stands up to him. This was a good short quick read that I wanted more of. All the members of the pride was there and there off springs. Maybe Ms. Kyle will write about the next generation. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.
This book is packed with high intensity cuteness, snark, and over protective pride. I love that we got to see this brief little glimpse into the lives of the pride, and hopefully a hint that there is more to come for these fantastic shifters. The author did a fantastic job of seamlessly adding this story to the series and left me wanting more. I can’t wait to read what happens next!
When I heard that there was going to be another Ridgeville pride story, I was thrilled. I love, love, love Maya and the pack. This story jumped a few years into the future and was really short. Sadly, I really, really dislike stories that jump into the future and didn't really expect that when I purchased it. So that is my part of my hate relationship.
That said, it was well written with trademark Maya witticisms and love of Alex, sex, her pride, and the creatures birthed. I loved how she was both a dotting mother and totally annoyed with the little hellions.
I enjoyed the story, but wish it was more fleshed out. It was simply to d@mn short which made it not feel complete. The ending was just didn't feel like an ending.
So yes, a love/hate relationship with the story.
How is the author's writing? Good Is there violence? Yes Is there sexual content? Yes How is the story narrated? Third person How would you describe the plot of this book? Some twists
What a fantastic read. The only thing I disliked about this book is I wish it was a longer storyline. I always have love Maya and her mate Alex from the first book written. This is a fun and humorous read. I must give warning it's for adults because there is a number of funny, sexual phases that will have you laughing out loud. I have read all of the books in this series and believe me they are all fabulous. I am so happy to get to visit with Maya and the family again. I can't wait to read more. I rated this book Five Stars and I highly recommend this book and Celia Kyle, she is one of my favorite authors to read. I voluntarily give a review because I love sharing my thoughts and feelings with other readers.
I haven't read much of this series but I don't think I will finish after this short story. While there was some humor and sweet/sexy romance I didn't care for a lot. My biggest problem was with the profanity aimed at kids by the heroine, their mother- multiple f bombs. Then the parents are seriously making out in a public area of the house while they have company--including anal groping.
This is a great book. Maya is her mother mode when her daughter comes out of the woods in her animal form as fast as she could because she was being chanced by rogue tiger in the middle of a family party in the back yard. Maya makes Alex's life fun and nuts all in one. Now you will have to Buy the book to find out what happens next.
This was a quick read, a kind of drive:-by update to the Ridgeville saga. It opens the story arc further with the opportunity to further develop the new generation of Ridgeville Pride people. The story was fun, I loved Harper, she's my new littlest hero!
Maya has been planing a celebration, but the table full of goodies has already been eaten. Before she gets chance to freak out and murder her children, a full scale emergency is called. Alex has to defend the pack from an aggressive tiger. Life as the Prime and Prima of a large mixed pack, and three growing kids means alone time has to be snatched when you can. There will be a new addition to the mixed shifter pack. Who will it be?? An exciting and funny book in the fabulous Ridgeville series. Great fun. I loved it.
Freaking Purrfect : A Ridgeville Bite of Life Short Story By Celia Kyle Kindle unlimited purchase It's been 15 years since Alex saw Maya across Genesis, Now they have the twins (Weston and Easton) and little, eight-year-old, Harper. Was great seeing the pride together. Still, want to see the kids get their HEA. This book was only 6 chapters but it packed a bunch. It had a great plot. And I enjoyed catching up with them. I do recommend reading the rest of the series first because it doesn't give any backstory.
Love Maya and Alex, now their kids. Has it been 15 years,? In storyland time goes at a faster rate, but that's what I love. In Ridgeville wackiness ensues, Maya-isms abound, and the Ovulators are in charge. You're going to enjoy this one like all the others in the Ridgeville series.
Good story, but really needs to be read in the series.
A lot of these novella series by different authors can be read as one offs. This series is not that way. I was confused the entire time. That aside, it was still enjoyable. Great sense of humor, fun likeable characters. I just needed more context.
If you like a snarky, sexy tigress that will step in and take care of business, you'll like Maya. Of course then there is Alex. The Prime tiger, who is so in love with his mate that he'll do anything for her.
But, smack dab full of Maya-isms, so this fit right in! This just a sample of a tasty treat... There's GOT to be more, the question is When? I read a seriously sad (bad, 1
While Maya and Alex were gathering for a family barbeque - they were interrupted suddenly by their small daughter Harper running for her life being chased by a tiger intent on destroying her very existence.
I love these characters....Maya is crazy and wild and it looks like her daughter will her duplicate....I just wish the book was longer...is there a other one coming out and when and please let it be longer!
So cute! This was an excellent addition to the Ridgeville series. It was fun to see what everyone was up to and I'm hoping there will be more stories to come.
This is just a short update about Alex, Maya, their kids and the Pride. It is short, sweet, and just a nice update. Plus? Maya finally gets her hedgehog.
Another brilliant read, there's always plenty of excitement, danger and adventure when this lot get together which makes it that much more fun to see happens
