An ambitious journalist on a fast track to success.

A first round draft pick determined to keep his personal life his own.

And a story that proves sometimes opposites really do attract.

Olivia Callahan is a woman on a mission. Her boss has given her the green light to produce her very own documentary, and she’s not going to let anything get in the way of perfection.

After a few setbacks in college, Nate Sullivan is finally on his way to the big leagues as the newest recruit for the New York Warriors. Determined to put his somewhat colorful past behind him, Nate’s all about the straight and narrow as he sets out to prove he’s worthy of his first round draft pick.

The last thing Nate wants is to delve into stories from his past. But when his new team directs him to set the record straight, he has no choice but to cooperate with the feisty, determined reporter who shows up on campus. Olivia is thrilled that Nate Sullivan is her man. His colorful background is just the thing to take her story from memorable to award winning.

What neither of them expected is their attraction to one another, yet try as they might, determination gives way to temptation eventually. To meet someone halfway is not easy, to get second chances possible, more maybe not!

I applied for this ARC' because of x2 favorite songs!

Prologue
Olivia talking to her boss Harry:

“Yes, otherwise you’re just as much of an idiot as he is!” “Olivia” straightened then, a flicker of recognition that I might be pushing things too far seeping through my anger.

I wouldn’t have pitched this story if I didn’t believe it would work. It will be a great piece; I know it will.”

“I’m sure it will,” he said.

“I know, that’s why you—wait, what did you say?”

“I said I’m sure it will.” Harry smiled. “I’m giving it to you, kid.”

I gaped at him. “Really?”

He nodded. “Even an idiot like me can see yours was the better idea.”

“I never called you an idiot.”

God, sometimes I really, needed to think before I spoke.

*Sold* because I am like that, doing things before I think or speak!

Olivia going to do a documentary for the upcoming NFL season, the documentary is part of the, Under the Lights series, as she was a junior reporter she had to do a documentary on Nate her chosen star.

Nate drafted to the New York Warriors but Olivia needed the promotion to become a senior reporter and Nate Sullivan was her chance to move up the Sports day ladder.

Olivia is 27, a go-getter, losing not an option, thinking and doing before she thinks.
description

Nate is 22 recently graduated, sexy, with abs that go on for miles, serious, and yes my latest bb!
description

I giggled so many times at things Olivia did and said in this story as she does things without thinking, the day Olivia meets Nate, she wants to do an interview in his room, after protest from Nate, she enters his room, it is full of football equipment, the room had a stale smell, dirty clothes, and sweaty practice gear etc. on the floor!

I turned around to look at him, his feet planted wide, eyes narrowed and arms crossed over his chest. “I don’t get it,”

Don’t get what?”

I motioned with my hand up and down the length of his body, then back to the rest of the room. “I mean…”

I tend to act before I think sometimes. Not often, but sometimes I do. I can’t help it. So, I guess I shouldn’t have been too surprised with myself when I closed the gap between us and stuck my nose in his chest. I sniffed, then raised up onto my toes and got a good whiff along his collar bone—as close to his neck as my five foot five frame would take me.

I felt him bristle against me and thankfully realized what I was doing. I took a step back.
He stared at me in shock. “Did you just sniff me?”

Mortified, I nodded. “I’m sorry, but you’re so clean…not exactly well groomed or anything,” I said as I studied the messy blond hair that was tucked behind his ears, the rough stubble along his jaw.

“But you just look…fresh.”
“Fresh.”

I nodded again. “Yes, fresh.”

He took a step closer, lowering his voice. “And how did I smell?”

I lifted my chin. “Good. Nothing like your room.”

AND THAT IS WHAT I AM WILLING TO SHARE WITH FELLOW READERS, READ THE NOVEL!

The attraction, been Olivia and Nate is palpable, in the next chapters, an instant attraction between a 27 woman and a 22 year of Graduate. I will recommend this book to lovers of NA, and CR.

The book was one fun read, filled with humor, it was hot, and I enjoyed the banter between the two characters.

This was my first read of this author and I was pleasantly surprised, well done!

Although this book has some grammar errors (but please note; English is not my first language and I am not an expert on grammar errors), it did not spoil the read, I loved every moment! My Reason for 4.5 stars and not 5.

Although on GR we cannot give out 4.5 stars’ sad fact that one!

I devoured it in one day! Okay it was Sunday that means more reading time!
But I read past my bedtime just so I could finish it.
For me it was a bit special because most of the time I read about the male being a bit older
than the female, but now it was the other way around.
So in the beginning I was a bit scared but it wasn't necessary.

When Olivia comes to Nate's place to meet up for the documentary she get's to meet his
roomies also and that was so funny!

The friends were also a lot of fun! They where so lovable and funny!

There was a quote that I really found funny and liked!

"Your Batmobile was clearly a stick shift."

There was a bit of drama, but when is there not?

A quote that I can link to

So? You're a yeller. That's how you show you care."

That is totally me when I'm upset and someone is pushing it I'm yelling and crying.
But my friends know that's me.

I would so recommend it!! Go read it!

This is the first one from Kim Carmody that I read but definitely not the last.

Thank you so much dear Maddie for making me want this and love this!!

I've read and loved the first book in this series, so I was stoked to find I was approved for the sequel, too. And what can I say? Once again, Kim Carmody managed to press all my right buttons. I may even have enjoyed this one more than its predecessor.
To be honest, I was a bit disappointed when I read the blurb for the first time - I was hoping for Buck's story, not Olivia's. I shouldn't have doubted the author though, since, obviously, I ended up loving both Olivia and Nate, and their love story.
This is not a low angst-read. There's a lot of push-and-pull and misunderstandings, and I loved every second of it. The main characters were relatable and mature, the writing was easy and fun, and I enjoyed the hell out of the story.

But now I really, really need Buck's story. ;-)

Touchdown for Kim Carmody! Not only did she win me over with book one in the series, she actually tied the score with book two. I can't say which one I love more. The hero's in both books couldn't be more different, but I loved them both. Nate was the strong silent type, which happens to be my favorite. Olivia, despite being a dreaded reporter, was a mature heroine. I did hate her a little when the reporter in her almost ruined things but she sure did redeem herself. All around great book and I can't wait for what this author brings us in the next in the series! Loved it! ARC provided by NetGalley.

This one snuck up on me. At the beginning, the age difference bothered me a bit, I thought Nate was too young for me to really connect with and I agreed with Olivia that he was a college kid.

And then I got to know him. And Olivia did as well. And just like Olivia did, I forgot his age and just found myself engaged in the story.

This book is really well written and as I was reading I remembered why I liked the first one so much; the writing. It's stellar. It's the reason the book works. It's the reason you forget that he's young. The writing is the whole reason you care about these people.

The writing is also what sets this one apart. It's not a complicated story, and in a lot of ways it's a light read. But there's also an amazing and heartfelt love story.

So, or snuck up on me. I had my doubts at the beginning. But by the end, reflecting on the story, I realized I was fully engaged with the book, and the characters and I didn't want it to end. That I wanted more. That Nate and Olivia had become people to me and I liked them.

To me, a 5 star book stays with you. It reminds you why you read and it reminds you how great a book can be... this one did it all. It took me from a doubter to a believer and I went on the same ride as Olivia. And it was worth it.

I highly recommend this book... as well as the first one in the series. While a standalone, this does take place in the same world.

I can't wait for the next one!

Again, this surprised me! There were still some cliche and corny bits but overall, I enjoyed both of these books. I could definitely see Kim growing as an author. I don’t know what prompted her to back off from writing, but I hope she makes her way back to the book world because I would definitely read her again.

4 Any Given Sunday & The Godfather Stars.

Olivia Callahan, 27 year old New Yorker has her whole life mapped out. To the guy she wants to date. To when to do what. It is all planned out. An older man who wears a suit and isn’t an athlete.

I see a spanner in the works here.

Moving on, though each junior sports reporter knows that if you land the Under the Lights documentary you get promoted to senior sports reporter. Olivia Callahan wants that spot and she gets it. Document an athlete’s journey from college making it to the NFL first draft pick. Enter Nate Sullivan.

Nate Sullivan, the king of gentle let-downs. 22 year old soon to graduate college and is in the NFL as the first draft pick for the Warriors in New York. He’s at the beginning of his career. He always knew that going pro would put him on the map on the field but off the field he wants his privacy. He doesn’t like the media or reporters but doesn’t want to be the difficult one so agrees. Enter Olivia Callahan.

They meet and get off to an odd start.

He stared at me in shock. “Did you just sniff me?” Mortified, I nodded. “I’m sorry but you’re so clean…not exactly well groomed or anything,” I said as I studied the messy blond hair that was tucked behind his ears, the rough stubble along his jaw. “But you look…fresh” “And how did I smell?” I lifted my chin. “Good nothing like your room.”

“Are there many women like you in New York? She scrunched up her nose. “You mean opinionated?” “No I mean sniffers.” “Oh, no.” She shook her head. “That’s my special brand of crazy. And just so you know, I reserved that bit of crazy all for you. I don’t normally sniff people I’ve just met.” “I’m honored.”

I wouldn't mind giving him a sniff. Not at all.

Olivia wants a juicy story the juicer the better. She wasn’t to what really happened with that fight. This book was hard for me that in that respect reporters show no boundaries. And they don’t realize how much they affect people.

Nate finds Liv confident, sexy as fuck a little intimidating. Liv is never embarrassed to say what she thinks. She wants Nate. The chemistry is undeniable and I love how there were encounters where there could have been more straight away but we get a buildup how they are together.

“You don’t kiss like a college kid” “I don’t fuck like one either.”

or

“You’re sweet.” I smirked. “You wouldn’t think I was sweet if you knew what I wanted to do to you.”

There is something there right from the start but they are both on different sides. Without both of them knowing it they have move towards something beautiful. Although Liv is really hesitant in getting involved she could lose everything that is important to her. She wants that promotion.

They do both have something to prove but each of them take different paths to achieve it. The last interview Olivia really knows how to go for the jugular. Had me on my seat.

She knows that he is lying and then she feels duped about her job and not being taken serious enough and that is when all things start to go to hell. All she had to do was tell him the truth beforehand before he gets blindsided but she is selfish and doesn’t until it is too late. She did grovel though and she did as much as she could to right a wrong even by losing one of her dreams. They both felt anger, pain and disappointment. Nate stands his ground and doesn’t say anything. It’s not his story to tell and neither does he want to tell it.

There are some truly amazing laugh out loud moments in the book. Meet me Halfway is well written. It engages you. You want to know more about the characters, you get involved with them you feel what you feel. You’ll scream at them. Well I mainly screamed at Olivia. Ms. Carmody has the tendency to have the most annoying heroines ever. Olivia is better than Emma (book 1) so there is that. Olivia has a priorities set completely wrong and that is why I docked half a star.

That among the laugh out loud moments there are sweet moments behind closed doors with our main characters. But they frustrated me as well. In their actions but there was a chain reaction to it all and they were in pain as they said some awful things to one another. Olivia always acted as if she didn’t know Nate at all out of their fling. And that she didn’t have any feelings for him was tough.

But it all boils down to

Meet me halfway, right at the borderline
That's where I'm gonna wait for you
I'll be lookin out, night n' day
Took my heart to the limit, and this is where I'll stay. –The Black Eyed Peas

They were both at that borderline, and in reach of it but never at the same time. Until? Of course you guessed it right at the very end.

I would like to say that more people should read Ms. Carmody’s books. This is told in a dual POV which is my favorites. I’m going to leave a lot out because I lot happens in the book all good though. Although I liked this more than book 1 there is one thing that could have been left out also why I docked half a star. PM me if you want to know what.

Meet Me Halfway can absolutely be read as a standalone. However, I've enjoyed this series so I recommend that you go back and read Lexington and 42nd simply because it is a good book.

Olivia Callahan has worked hard for the past six years, ensuring that she rising the ranks as a top sports journalist. She's very controlled and very organized. Everything in her life has a plan. Everything needs to go in order. When she pitches an idea to do a spotlight on the newest draft pick for the Warriors, she goes at it with everything that she has. This is her chance to change things up and go big.

Nate Sullivan is the recruit that Olivia will be doing a documentary on. He's getting ready to graduate from college and start as the newest draft player in New York. He's always been focused on his work and football. His two passions. He's also been a pretty private person so he isn't too trilled about the documentary. He just wants to play ball and be left alone. When Olivia shows up at his door, he's unexpectedly attracted to her and he is even more surprised how easily he opens up to her. Will the two of them be able to keep things strictly professional or will their attraction to each other change things up?

Once again, Kim Carmody has delivered us a fun and interesting story. This one has a little bit more angst in it. There is something in it that really puts both Nate and Olivia in a very difficult spot and emotions were running at an all time high.

What I enjoyed the most about this book is the banter not only between Nate and Olivia but between all of the characters. I'm also still wanting Buck to have his own story. I've loved him since Lexington and 42nd and I hope we get more of him.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It's a quick read that is mostly light hearted with a lot of humor in it. It's a fun ride and you don't want to miss out on it.

I read Kim's previous book in the Off Field series and if you liked Lexington & 42nd, you'll love Meet Me Halfway equally. Kim has a knack for writing super relatable female leads and I loved that in this book we also got the male lead's side of the story. Kim knows how to write sexy, rugged, athletic alpha males who are down to earth with a good heart. Good amount of sexy times, angst and surprises. Lots of fun, super summer read.

Wow this one is surprisingly good. I wasn't expecting to be wowed when I requested this on Netgalley because I haven't heard of Kim Carmody before but I can honestly say that I'll be keeping an eye out to more of her work in the future. What do you know, she may just one day become one of my go-to contemporary authors. I'm so looking forward to that.

A phenomenon football player with a past + A head-strong reporter with a mission = A match made out of Heaven.

Meet Me Halfway is the second part in the Off-Field series that has to do with the love battle the stars of the New York Warriors have to go through so they can get their HEA in the end. And they make it one hell of a show to watch. This time, it’s Nate Sullivan’s turn to enslave us and lay down before the whole timeline and the unbelievable intensity he shares with his other half; the one and only Olivia Callahan. Both’s world as they knew it is set upside down the moment Olivia takes the job to create a documentary about him. And she’s more than ready and hell-bent to use her persuasion skills to make him reveal a shady part of his past. What neither saw coming was the undeniable and powerful love that starts developing between them and how this documentary would be the cause of creating some of the most difficult, heart-wrecking and unpredictable obstacles they must overcome if they want to be really really together.

It was like she was kryptonite, all my senses were drawn to her.

The power of the emotions, the rocket-fire passion and intensity that’s flowing between them is what makes this book addicting and not-to-be-missed. They share an off-the-charts world of emotions that I don’t get to see often in some of the books I have read. But I’m beyond excited that I got to experience it in this particular story because honestly without it, I don’t think I would like it that much. Both characters are what “well-written” is all about and the unique way they fight for each other from the start, even if they hadn’t realized it yet, makes them one of the best, probably unforgettable and set-on-for-many-re-reads ones. Also, what made me love even more this book was, how along with the unfolding of their love, Carmody makes some very true and really sad comments about how media are manipulate their stories so they can attract more people no matter if what they write isn’t 120% true.

Carmody has proved herself to be one of the really good authors I had the chance to read. And although I haven’t had the chance to read the first in the series, her writing skills are more than amazing not to be obvious. I can’t wait to read the next book because, except of wanting to get the continue of the couples so far, I need more Nate & Liv; they just that good and intriguing as hell.

I have to admit I was looking forward to this book as the cover had attracted me. Though I wasn't sure what it would be about. It turned out that it was a sports romance. Olivia Callahan is a journalist working in the Sports fields and as we know females in this industry is quite rare and it is even harder to break through the glass ceiling. When a chance comes up for having a story featured on Under the Lights which is a big deal and for Olivia it is the opportunity of a lifetime and the possibility of finally reaching senior sports journalist status. Nate Sullivan is an up and coming football star and is the hottest thing around as he is about to start playing in the big leagues. He is also Olivia's subject for her story. The more they start spending time together, the closer they get and eventually despite both of their objections - mainly Olivia's they start sleeping together and keeping their relationship hidden so that Olivia can get her story together without bias. What will happen though when things start to get tangled for Olivia and her personal and professional lives start to mesh and do the one thing she never wanted to do - get distracted from the prize of her career. When she is forced to make a choice - her career or romance, what will Olivia choose? When things get even more complicated and guilt hits, will she be able to get back what she has lost or will her decisions and the consequences haunt her forever and end up losing both of the things she loved the most?

You have heard the saying, "Don't believe everything you read in the papers", right?
Well this is most certainly the case for Nate Sullivan. He is the rising football star who was the first draft pick for the Warriors. He has everything going for him - until that fight is brought up again and it's all rehashed. It is something Nate has tried hard to forget and move on from.

Olivia has finally scored her big break with her boss. She is a sports reporter that has been given the go ahead on doing a documentary on the Warriors draft selection - Nate. But at what price is this documentary going to cost Liv?

This second book in this series is just as praiseworthy as the first, maybe more so. Nate is the type of guy you want on your team, and on your side. He will defend in what he believes is the right thing. He may have just Graduated from college, but he is mature beyond his years. And this is one of the reasons that Liv was so attracted to him. It's not about the fit and delectable body - but it is not a deterrent either. There are just so many qualities to this man that will make any girl swoon. But Liv is not your average girl for that matter. She is in a mans world for her job, but she loves it. She gives as good as she gets. Liv just needs to loosen up a bit and maybe that is something Nate can teacher her. But their relationship needs to be kept behind closed doors. Nothing good can come of it if Liv's boss finds out she is dating the subject of the documentary. But how long can they keep the secret? How can Liv deliver to her best ability without throwing Nate under the bus? And when did it go from "just having some fun" to falling for each other?

If you are looking for a sports romance with some angst and plenty action, you can look no further. No problem if you haven't read the first book, but I recommend both of these beauties and I am looking forward to the next one immensely.

Well written angsty but sexy standalone sports romance that had a unique plot and a HEA!

Meet Me Halfway was my first read by Kim Carmody but it most definitely won’t be my last. As a big sports romance fan, I thoroughly enjoyed this angsty but sexy sports romance that had a unique plot to make it stand out from other books using a sports theme. Despite this being part of a series, it can easily be read as a standalone.

Olivia and Nate, who tell the book through dual perspective, have such an incredible chemistry between them from the start that only continues to grow as the book evolves and the plot thickens. The range of emotions Olivia and Nate go through vary from, angsty, fun and flirty, heartache, and happiness as they weave their way through the perils of their lives to find a HEA, clearly shown through the dual perspectives. Secondary characters in the book play a big part in not only furthering the plot at time but also in developing the two into more complex characters.

Meet Me Halfway is well written with a strong plot, steady pace and excellent flow. There were some smoking hot scenes between the two characters along with some drama and plenty of twists and turns to keep you flicking the pages. I personally don’t follow American football so can’t comment on the accuracy of anything written but I love sports romances, especially when they are well written and don’t necessarily follow all the typical stereotypes. I loved that we got an epilogue that left you feeling fully satisfied with the HEA and that all ends were tied up for Olivia and Nate.

Overall, if you are looking for a well written contemporary romance or sports romance I would definitely recommend this book!

Meet Me Halfway by Kim Carmody

This is the second book in Carmody's Off Field series and can be read as a standalone. It's the story of Nate, the new recruit to the New York Warriors and reporter for Sports Day New York, Olivia. The two meet when Olivia lands the most important pitch of her career: profiling an up and coming athlete from his completion of college through to starting with the team. She's thrilled to have her Nate as the focus of her story as she hopes that by uncovering his colorful past she can elevate her story from good to award-winning but possibly at a cost. Nate has an aversion to reporters and is extremely low-profile. He has zero interest in meeting with Olivia but knows he has to cooperate especially at the start of his career. What neither of these two count on is the attraction between them.

The story was great. There's an element of forbidden, I guess. Olivia being a few years older, and a sports reporter in a male-dominated field, wants to keep the budding relationship on the quiet so as not to ruin her integrity and the respect she's worked hard to earn. I get that, I even admire it. But maybe once or twice throughout the book, I really didn't like her or her choices. Nate, on the other hand, I adored. Sweet guy, sexy AF, heart of gold.

I do recommend the book. I love the authors writing style and again, the story is a great one. Overall the characters are likable and ones you'll find yourself hoping for their HEA.

‘Meet me halfway’ is the second book in the Off Field series. After reading and loving the first book in the series so much, I immediately started reading this book. Just like the first book I enjoyed Kim Carmody’s writing very much. This is a sports series that I found very light and refreshing to read. It’s filled with humor, a little drama but nothing too big and this story has a sexy, hot football player and a feisty heroine in it. What’s not to love about that!

We already met Olivia Callahan in the first book. From that story I got the impression that although Olivia was a journalist (and thus it is her job to search for stories about the athletes), she was also someone who respected the athletes and their privacy. She wanted to bring news but not at the cost of everything.

From an early age it was Olivia’s dream to become a sport journalist. Instead of playing with the dolls, she would make her mother do sport interviews with her. And now, after years of hard work in a men dominated sports world, Olivia finally gets the chance to prove herself. And just like the person she is, Olivia has everything well organized. She knows what she wants and she will get it done. After convincing her boss and the network that making a documentary about the newest football player for the New York Warriors will be a great story. Olivia is on her way to meeting the star of her documentary, Nate Sullivan. The plan is to follow him around to film his final weeks on college and then to follow him around when he starts his new career by the New York Warriors. Olivia is very happy with Nate Sullivan as the star of her documentary because everyone knows that he’s keeping something hidden from his past. An incident with a fellow teammate where he does very secretive about. So all she has to do to make her documentary a success is to convince Nate to tell the story to her! Easy, right?!!

But Olivia never expected to feel an attraction to Nate. Not only is he a few years younger than her but she also has a rule for not dating athletes. A rule that is being ignored one hot night in Nate’s hometown. But what harm could one night of hot sex do? But sometimes it’s better not knowing what something taste like because now both can’t forget that night and both want more than one night! So one night becomes two nights and then it’s very hard to stop it.
But through it all, Olivia is expecting much from this documentary and her boss and the network are expecting fireworks! Nate and she are spending more and more time together, for work but also privately. They get to know each other better but Nate isn’t willing to share his big secret with her so at the end to please her boss and the network, Olivia takes a decision that could give her a big promotion but that could also cost her Nate.

And that is exactly what happens, Nate is very angry with her and it’s only then that Olivia discovers her feelings for him and now she has to find a way to make it up to him. The question is how? However, if there is one thing that Olivia is good at, it is in doing her job. So now Olivia will do everything she can to show the world that Nate is a good guy and that the fans should be very happy and proud to have him with the New York Warriors. She can only hope that Nate will forgive her in the end.

Just like in the first story, both women felt a conflict between their career and their feelings for this one man. But both stories were for the rest very different. In this story Nate was just at the start of a big football career where Will Jensen (from the first book) was already a few years a professional football player. I liked this different kind of view on the football world. There’s also the fact that Nat is a few years younger than Olivia and although there were a few times that he acted like his age, I also found him very mature.
I really love Kim Carmody’s men, they aren’t all alpha and dominant. They have a soft side and their character really appeal to me.

I’m very happy that I discovered this writer and her books. And I’m soooooo looking forward to her next book!!

This book oh my god I really was scared and didn't really want to read it. Like seriously some parts of it, I am like "seriously authors, that isn't nice of you to write it like that". But some parts drew me in with the words that got me thinking, "oh, this isn't bad".

I just think in the sense I like the portrayal of the hero and the heroine, both of them are not perfect. The hero has a bit of jerk on him, that we should notice like the way he belittled woman and at the same time, willing to use them smh. Same with the heroine I am sooo angry at her for being so hard on the hero for not giving in to what she want.

I really love the journey of up and down of this story. I can relate that the heroine knows she effed up and hurt the hero but determine to own up, making, fixing it up and fight back for him. The sacrifice she did really made up for her mistake.

It is a good read. Enough that I think I could come back for a second time. :)

First, I have to say that I had no idea this was released 3 months ago! I saw no ads or Facebook or Instagram promotions. No book bloggers discussed or reviewed it. And boy, are they missing out.
42nd and Lex was one of my favorites from 2016. This is a great follow up. The characters were phenomenal and the story was exceptionally well written.
Looking forward to more in this series- or from KC at all!!

Thank you to Netgalley, Kim Carmody books and Kim carmody herself for the opportunity to read this book for an honest review.

I love the front cover of this book. New York has a very special place in my heart after spending my Honeymoon there so i was very excited to read this book that Is set in the heart of the city. It made me feel like I was back there again instead of being stuck in England on a cold autumnal week.

I really enjoyed this book. I immediately clicked with the writing style and I cannot wait to read more books by Kim Carmody in the future. If this book is anything to go by Kim has a glittering career ahead of her.

I really liked the characters in this book and although I didn't feel a deep connection with them I felt that they were built well and had great chemistry with each other.

As I said I really loved the setting of this book. It is a heartwarming if a tad predictable love story. And do you know what. At a time when my head is terrible something that I don't need to concentrate deeply on is very welcoming.

Welcome our main characters Olivia Callahan and Nate Sullivan. I love it when characters have normal names that I can pronounce. Makes the reading process so much easier and so
much more enjoyable. Any way I digress.

Olivia is a high flying career woman. Olivia works as a sports journalist and she has just been given the opportunity of a lifetime to help make her career illustrious. Olivia is determined to make this happen and to show all the men in the business that she is the best and that woman can be just as good as men at sports journalism if not better. But Olivia never counted on meeting Nate.

Nate Sullivan. A bad boy with a shady history. Is determined to make it as the newest recruit for the New York Warriors. But to set the record straight and to stand a chance to be on the team. Nate has to face up to his past.

Nate and Olivia come together as Olivia has to make a documentary for her new job and Nate has to set the record straight to be on the team.

But what neither of them expected was the sparks of chemistry and to fall madly in love with each other. Can they struck up a good balance between career and personal life in order to get everything that they want?

I really enjoyed this book and hope that you do too. If Kim's books continue to be as good as this one then she will have firmly planted herself on my list of favourite authors.

Happy reading everyone

It doesn't happen very often that I like a sequel in a New-Adult series more than its predecessor but with Meet Me Halfway it happened. Everything just clicked with me. What made this stronger than Lexington and 42nd was that the characters were much stronger and likeable. Nothing wrong with Will and Emma, who, of course, also appear in this book and are totally cute, but nevertheless, I resonated more with Olivia and Nate.

Olivia is a strong woman. She has opinions and is not afraid to tell them. She is also very confident and doesn't flinch or back down easily which I loved about her.
Nate is more of the silent and brooding kind but not like the cliché, he is more mature, especially for a 22-year-old. And that makes him sexy as hell.

Our main characters are written with much depth. Nate is younger than Olivia by five years and while he's normally a confident guy, the age difference and the fact that Olivia has more experience and is a much worldlier person intimidate him or, better yet, make him feel insecure because "intimidate" is a strong and a bit negatively connoted word. Nate is not some cocky, arrogant and overly self-assured alpha-male, no, he is a man with feelings and even insecurities. I loved that aspect about him, it makes the whole story more realistic.
Olivia... I'd really like her as a friend. Her confidence is sexy. 'Nuff said.

I very much look forward to the third book, please, let it be about Buck!

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

Olivia Callahan has always dreamed of being a sports journalist, and when she is selected to produce one of the year’s Under the Lights episodes, she knows this is her ticket to move up at her job. Liv plans to film her documentary on the New York Warriors’ first round pick from the draft, Nate Sullivan. Nate is ecstatic to be playing in the NFL, but he wishes he could do it without the fame and attention that comes off the field, so this documentary is the last thing he wants. However, he knows he needs to make his new team happy and agrees to it. Once they meet, Liv and Nate are immediately attracted to each other and have to decide if acting on that attraction is worth the career risks it could present.

This book was a quick and light read. It is not a clean romance, and there is cussing, so if those are triggers for you, you will want to avoid this book. This story follows the same general arc that most romance novels do – a formula that obviously works, or it wouldn’t be used over and over again! It was well-written; Ms. Carmody has a way with words.

This book blew me away! The writing, the characters, the storyline, all of it was just exceptional. When I read the synopsis for this story and the reviews it definitely intrigued me but I was not prepared for just how good it really was.

Olivia is a strong and very driven character and when she is offered the story of her life she can’t wait to deliver it.

Nate is the newest up and coming first round draft pick for the New York Warriors so of course all of the world wants to know about him but Nate is shy and doesn’t want the world to intrude on his personal life.

You can see the dilemma right? In order for Olivia to get her story she is going to have to push Nate and well that could be hard considering she has a strong attraction to him.

The thing that I enjoyed most about this love story was the maturity of it. Nate is right out of college so you could expect there to be some childish games but there wasn’t. Their relationship developed slow and detailed. Their mutual respect for each other was always present and the storyline was just real and just a joy to read.

I have to remark about the writing though. Author Kim Carmody’s writing is excellent. It grabs you right at the first page. The connection she makes you feel to the characters is rare. It is almost as if you can see what you’re reading playing out like a movie or a show.

You should most certainly pick this one up. It’s a great read with a tad of everything in it! Just a perfect read!

I was super excited to see Kim's newest book baby hit my kindle.  I read Lexington and 42nd back in February and have been looking forward to the 2nd book ever since!

Ms. Carmody hasn't let me down.  For a debut book - I loved the writing in Lexington and 42nd, she has once again brought her A-game.  As it was in her debut book, she writes strong characters.  Characters in which I want to be friends with, hang out with.

Olivia - working in the male-dominated world has the opportunity to further her career with a story on Nate, the first round draft pick for the New York Warriors.  He's such a good guy and Olivia sees that from the moment she meets him.  Their relationship begins as a business relationship, turns to friendship then so much more.  There is an age difference which often becomes a concern (mainly for Olivia), but their connection makes her (and me the reader) forget that they are in different stages of life.

Once again - Ms. Carmody has given me a book to sit and enjoy and seep into another person's life...the reason I love to read.

I liked this book better than the first one. It was fun and easy. Nate is a first-round draft pick for the New York Warriors football team. Olivia is a journalist who will be doing a documentary on him and is friends with several members of the Warriors. Nate is not too happy about the documentary but will deal with it anyway. What neither Nate or Olivia expected was the attraction between the two. So what will happen as the story progresses?

It had a little of a forbidden twist to it-with Nate and Olivia essentially working together and their 5-year age difference. Those two twists definitely had me engaged to see how it will all play out. Both main characters were likable. Nate was a mature guy for his age. I liked that he had his head on his shoulders and wasn’t really affected by his fame. He was such a good man. Olivia was also good but determined-she knew that this documentary would be her big ticket. I enjoyed the unexpectedness of their romance. Neither was focused on it until it hit them in the face. I liked how comfortable they were with each other. It was fun and pleasant. They had a great rapport together-they just seemed to fit. There was just an easy feel as the story progressed. I liked the minor appearances from Emma, Will, and Buck-they were great. I hope the next book in this series is about Buck. Overall, this was a nice read with a easy storyline and good characters. I’m interested to see what Kim has in store for the next one.

This was an enjoyable, sweet, and at times funny story. That although I felt got off to a bit of a slow start, drew me in and kept me entertained and engaged throughout.

As for the two main characters they were really likable, I didn't necessarily feel they had much of a spark but they certainly worked well as a couple and as the story progressed. I felt myself rooting for them to come together and work things out.

The story itself however I found a little predictable in places, but still enjoyable to read. Especially as all the characters not just the central ones are extremely likable and great to read about. So I'm excited to see where this series goes next and I hope that Buck gets his own story at some point. As I really love him and his bugs!!. Also for fans of the authors debut novel, this story does feature Will and Emma but you certainly don't need to have read it to enjoy this one, and I would happily recommend this. Especially if you like your Sports Romance on the sweeter side.

Flirty,  fresh, and fun! This book was fully loaded with great sexual tension.  The main lady Olivia is a focused, hard working, New York women, fully capable of taking care of herself.  She’s a sport journalist that gets a great opportunity in the way of the young football rookie Nate.  From the moment they meet you just know somethings coming between them.  The opportunity may lead Olivia to more than just career advancement, but is she ready? Does she even want to have something else added to her perfectly planned life.

Nate also knows a whole lot more than a normal just graduated college boy.  Will he have a chance to show her all he can do? With new, young interest comes mistakes and errors. Nate and Olivia will have to decide if the sexual tension between them is worth mixing business and pleasure. Isn’t that part of the appeal,  wanting what’s supposed to be off limits. Has been in my personal experience. This story is a flirtatious tale about wanting the forbidden with great humorous twists along the road. Was super excited to find out it’s a 3 part series. Looking forward to more from Kim Carmody.

This is the first book I have read by Kim Carmody and I am now definitely a fan! Already looking forward to the next book in this series.

Olivia is a confident and strong willed young woman who knows what she wants. She is given an opportunity to prove her mettle as a journalist by producing a documentary on a young football player (Nate Sullivan) just out of college and drafted by an NFL team. Nate is the consummate college football player... cocky and sure of himself... until he meets Olivia.

Despite the age difference (6 years) sparks fly when they meet and business starts to mix with pleasure! Nate becomes more than a work project for Olivia and that is when things get messy. Secrets come to light and all seems lost.

This is a quick read and I like the first person point of view writing. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it highly.

3.5/4 STARS

A very sweet reading
Great characters, both Liv and Nate with very high expectations, at a crossroad in their own professional lives.

But apparently there are so many things that should keep them apart:

- Conflicts of professional interests
- their ages
- Nate’s past
- Public exposure and its consequences for both…

Good writing, chemistry, steamy scenes, angst and humor… The perfect mix.
Will Liv and Nate be able to overcome all those barriers?
Or will Liv’s job and / or insecurities jeopardize their incipient relationship?
Will the mistakes of one and the past of the other end them?
Well, grab Meet Me Halfway and see!

One of the things I loved most about this book was the way the author developed the love story between Liv and Nate.

She's smart and focussed in her career, and he's a kid for her, but love is a beautiful thing, and the age isn't a big deal when the heart decide who to love.

The story is filled with humor and sports, while Liv is working in her documentary, but also there's some drama in the pages of this book. The characters need to find a way to save their relationship even though their differences.

I really enjoyed the construction of the plot and its resolve, the characters and how they grew. It was my first time reading this author, and as soon as possible I'll be checking the first book of this series.
