This book provides insight into a topic that so many people experience either directly or indirectly during their day-to-day lives. Panic and anxiety are not only difficult to deal with personally, but they can also be difficult to discuss. I think that John Ledger does an amazing job of making readers feel “at home” with his writing. Many of the self-help books that I have read or started to read in the past gave me the impression that I was being “talked at” while this book feels more like an actual conversation. I quickly got absorbed in the writing, and did not want to put it down once I started reading.
Not only does this book provide personal stories, techniques, and coping mechanisms for those that suffer from these mental health issues, but it also provides a narrative to help educate people that do not personally suffer from them.
I think that it is important for people to read this book, and I cannot wait to see what book John Ledger comes out with next.
