Two killers. One target. Both with different motives.
With the breakup of her marriage, Sophia Reynolds’ mind isn’t completely on her job. Maybe that’s why she didn’t listen to her husband’s previous warnings. Showing a house after dark shouldn’t have been dangerous, but she’s viciously attacked, becoming a target for a sadistic serial killer.
She escapes him barely alive, and when her estranged husband, Detective Levi Reynolds, sees the damage that’s been inflicted, vengeance becomes his best friend. He’s willing to do whatever he has to do to track down Stefan Greenwald, the man who almost took his wife’s life.
As the evidence unfolds, it becomes clear Greenwald isn’t working alone, and the fight to save Sophia’s life gets harder by the minute. Levi may have to lay aside his badge to protect his wife the only way he knows how.

My Review Of "Last Showing":
How far would you go to protect those you love? Sophie and Levi are strong characters that keep the reader riveted on the story. You will not want to put it down. From the moment you read the opening lines the story moves quickly and smoothly. fear, revulsion, anger, and the desire for vengeance will run their way through you. Ms. Carrington has drawn with her words a picture for you to step into and live this thriller as it evolves. My rating for "Last Showing is 4.75 out of 5 stars.
Rachel Carrington's book, Last Showing, is just the kind of book that keeps me reading—a complex murder mystery with just enough romance to make me root for the characters' happy ending. When a sadistic sociopath botches his first attempt to murder real estate agent Sophia Reynolds, her estranged police detective husband, Levi, steps back into her life with a tender concern that Sophia finds herself craving yet stubbornly resists. The author weaves a clever web of plot twists and surprises as both Levi and the murderer seek a second chance with Sophia—one to end her life and the other to redeem it. An enjoyable read for those who enjoy piecing together puzzles right up to the very last page.
This was an amazing book and I loved the story. I liked that it was written in third person, but there were different perspectives of the story. Sophia is a fighter. She has great strength and showed it during her attack. She was reeling from her separation when she was attacked, something she believes she was too distracted to realize what was going to happen. Thinking this is the beginning of the end, it may be just what was needed for these characters. A great short story, and it wraps up very well. I'm glad I read it, and just may read it again, in case I missed something.
