The couple: Steven and Ruby
Romance trope: brother's best friend
Length: 79 pages
Plot: Ruby is back home after a spate of bad luck in the city. She ends up at home at the same time as her brother's childhood best friend, Steven, and they find that there's a lot more attraction than when they were younger - Ruby is all grown up now. But will they risk her brother's wrath? Are they even able to be together, given Steven's career in the military?
Commentary: Steven got a raw deal, getting blamed for the CIA mission. He pretty much did what they told hom to do and it's not his fault that everyone and their dog has a phone to record what happened. Doing the donuts? That was silly but they could have explained that away. Anyhow, it wasn't fair but it did lead to him getting the instructor position and being able to stay with Ruby. I think it's funny that instructor positions are often portrayed as undesirable (I'm thinking of Top Gun, for example, where instructor is what happens when they don't know what to do with you or you've outlived your usefulness, like it's a punishment).

When I need my fix of a hot Seal who will melt me from the inside out this is a go to author. This one is a double plus because it is with the holidays in mind. I do not read many holiday themed unless it can by the storyline lasso me in like this one. I want a warm hearted with a bit of humor and HEA which she does deliver in this. When Steven and Ruby meet up again , that is when things get interesting and a bit risk ah it would seem. Especially since she is not so little anymore. This is a quick one to devour along with holiday treats cause you just have to keep your nose to it all the way until you see how it all turns out.

It's one of those books where ??
Wow it's one of those !! I thought man how obnoxious!! He is a Navy seal kudos to him he gets to come home on leave at Christmas omg amazing!! He hooks up with his best friends little sister OH NO THIS ISN'T GOING TO END WELL!! She sneaks out to see him and they end up having sex this I seen coming mans hot she knows what she wants ! They are both relaxing and enjoying the after math of mind blowing sex. OMG He gets a call from his CO THIS REALLY ISNT GOOD !! the ending and I won't be the spoiler but WOW JUST WOW HOW DID THIS END UP BEING ONE OF THOSE IT ALL JUST FELL INTO PLACE? She got a new job offer just before Christmas after being laid off 2 weeks before and WOW I didn't see it going this way GIVE ME MORE !!!

Loved, loved this book of a story of forbidden love, Max and Ruby will keep you reading to the last page. This is a short read about Max and Ruby who have known each other since childhood. However, Max is Ruby's brothers best friend and is off limits. Ruby just wants an escape from her life just until after the Christmas holidays so pursues Max and the story develops. This is a must read for the sweet sexy read it is a truly captivating holiday romance. Five stars is a given for this book.

A wonderful short story just in time for a holiday or any day !
Steven is a seal trying to get home for the holidays. Ruby is down on her luck but going home for the holidays. Ruby lost her job, was mugged, is losing her apartment, what else could happen? Maybe a romance with her brother's best friend is what is needed. The story is short, sweet, sexy, and swoon worthy.

Great quick story
I loved Max and Ruby's story. My only complaint is that it was to quick. I have read this whole series and this was a nice addition.

Ruby meets Steven (again) after she comes home for Christmas and he's on leave from being a SEAL.
There was enough meat here (Ruby's sister in law was questionable) that this could be made into a fuller story/novella.
Nice HEA, good sexy times.
