The valuable lesson contained in this book is that the best way to attract prosperity is to abandon the pursuit of wealth and allow it to flow toward oneself. The ancient laws of attraction are explained in plain language and applied in an economic framework—a new perspective not found in other popular explications of these principles. A path to prosperity is offered in tandem with guidance for achieving harmony in both professional and personal spheres while strategies to overcome destructive thinking patterns and to sustain the flow of wealth while channeling it constructively are delineated. Profiles of individuals who pursued their passion rather than profit, and subsequently reaped immense rewards, will inspire those seeking to transform their lives.
This book has been life changing for me. For those who are not familiar with Bob Proctor, he is one of the best motivational speakers of our time.
I purchased it thinking it was something totally different, but boy was I in for a great surprise. The way Bob breaks down how we can set realistic financial & life goals was great. Plus, he forces us to really take an inventory of what we love to do, what we're good at doing and if we focus on that and doing it well, then the money will follow.
I would recommend this book to everyone looking for a lasting and meaningful change in their lives.
I guess I'm getting more and more confused by this Law of Attraction business. In all fairness, I do believe that positive thinking begets great things. I might even buy that people flock to those that closely resemble their values.
Now, spoiler alert ahead. The law of attraction essentially works like this (according to this book): If great things happen to you because you thought positively, you caused that but if negative things happen to you it is your fault that you attracted that, as well. So, this is untestable. It's the old damned if you do and damned if you don't. Very cult like if you ask me.
I wasn't impressed. Nerve wracking. Back to my business, philosophy, and thriller genres. Law of Attraction? Um, I think not.
I've read many books on the law of attraction. Napoleon Hill is my mentor, but Bob Proctor has really mastered the method of articulating the law in the clearest way I've yet to encounter. If you can't grasp the concept from listening to him, you probably never will.
A lot of common knowledge but it’s always good to hear from different perspectives.
Some takeaways:
-You don’t lack time you lack priorities -Believe to see -know your purpose (why), have a vision (strategy), and goals (steps to get there). -new beliefs are like seeds, plant it and Expect it to grow by mending to it daily -paradigm: collection of beliefs by groups of people -decide, then act - it’s that easy - don’t be tight fisted with money, invest. Don’t be too cheap and don’t be too free with money -break down big projects into small steps (that take 30 minutes or less). Example writing a book: write out outline. Then write 10-15 points per outline chapter. Then fill out those points. Etc. -intuition fills in the gaps for decision making - you won’t have all the answers - finding purpose is like driving in the fog - don’t wait to be clear take action
if you’ve read any of his books and seen any of his videos/seminars you know this man is the truth. he’s been at it before the self development field took off became mainstream, a student & colleague of Earl Nightingale... if anything this man says is confusing to you then you got some self-exploration to do cause once you start becoming aware of the truth, you’ll realize nobody is as clear & concise as Bob Proctor. definitely check out Youtube channel if you haven’t yet the amount of value & quantity of content he produces on regular basis is unheard of. you won’t be dissapointed
It’s nothing about money!! It’s more of a self help book. Even with this big gap on what the title says and what the book covers - this book is a gem. Another thing that I realise is that ‘the older the book is, more impactful it is on self help’. Maybe there are a lot of new books which pick content from the old ones, or even more simple is that the logic-of-life has been the same and the new world doesn’t change the fundamentals. Very good read! Read, implement and reap its benefits
Clover your book ! Just finished reading it for the second time.
I am now going bAck I on the blue words and read them . I am really a anxious to start my business. I was on the way 6 years ago I moved and got new ideas that got replaced with mundane things. I am more than ready to start again . Am going to your website to get your words and I plan on " taking off". I am very excited about being wealthy!
A must-read for everyone who wishes to improve their life and build a better future. And, really it's not about the money but about how to live your dream life. It's about the "value" you can add to your life and to the lives of people around you. Money will then come as a result of living "greatly" and "consiously"!
I found this book fun to read and enjoyed the stories plus the inner techniques to do. Wealth comes from within and putting our effort to maintaining positive thoughts can bring us wealth. It isn’t about the money it’s about the feeling we have and the energy we put towards it.
If there’s one book I’d give myself in my teens, twenties, thirties and forties it’s this book. Why? Because Mr. Proctor’s book so aptly titled helps prepare a mindful reader for the healthy responsible mindful cultivation of wealth … whether it be financial, spiritual or something else.
This was a good look at the mentality behind a successful person, but the title is not all the book is about. I enjoy the authors easy and accessible way of making his points. This is a useful guide for those people looking to succeed in their life.
The main focus of the book is to change your mindset, becoming someone who believes they are capable of achieving a wealthy life. If you want to be wealthy but don’t yet fully believe in your abilities to do so, this is a great book.
I thought there would be more about the “Law of Attraction”. In other words, something New Age. Instead, there is good advice about the mental discipline required for achieving one’s goals. It is worthy to do what you love doing, but I don’t know if financial rewards will necessarily follow.
Good read, helps you to put things into perspective and really understand more and more why it’s important to have your thoughts and feelings aligned with your purpose in life.
Good read for affirmation and motivation. Realizing it’s not about the money is a good thought as it helps you focus more on solving a problem than how to get money.
A motivating and uplifting book. Mindset is priceless, and this book tells many ways to improve your mindset. I recommend it even if you aren't interested in business.
Good old Bob Proctor - so sad he passed recently (RIP) - a man who’s worked I’ve admired and enjoyed for many years since I first came across it - and this audiobook was no exception.
Perhaps not his best - but this book was good nevertheless. Or maybe I’ve studied so much of his stuff it doesn’t seem as groundbreaking or inspiring as it may be to a complete newbie to his material. So please don’t let the “good vs great” star rating fool you.
But the book is appropriately titled. Amongst many good things in the book, it serves as a reminder that it’s not about the money - but more about you and whom you must become to attract the success you want - on the inside and the types of thinking you must vibrate to thrive - the money will follow
