Men of Haven #2

Wild & Sweet

Rate this book
Live hard, f*ck harder and follow only their own rules. Those are the cornerstones the six men of the Haven Brotherhood live and bleed by, refusing to conform to society's expectations, taking what they want and always watching each other's backs.

Zeke Dugan is not a man who walks the straight and narrow. He may have sworn an oath as a trauma doc, but he has zero problem leveraging his medical skills outside a hospital if it means giving the Brotherhood—the group of men he calls family—an advantage. Blood before business. All that changes when shy Gabrielle stumbles into his life and ignites his protective instincts.

Mechanic Gabrielle Parker prefers the complexities of an engine over men. Her life wasn't always quiet and well-ordered, but now that it is, she finds peace in the solitude. When a robbery in her neighborhood forces her out of her safe bubble, she never fathoms that a dangerous, cocky trauma doctor will fix more than her injuries.

Zeke doesn't play by the rules that Gabrielle follows but knows that he's exactly what she needs in her life. He'll show her the fierce and uncompromising protection that comes from belonging to a man like him.

When tension outside the Brotherhood threatens Gabrielle, Zeke will do anything to keep her safe, and damn the consequences. No one will hurt his woman, even if it means putting the very men who saved his life at risk.

Wild and Sweet is book two in the Haven Brotherhood series by Rhenna Morgan. The brotherhood is a group of six men who all have troubled pasts in one way or another. They have come together and formed a family of their own choosing, six brothers who would lay down their lives for one another if necessary. They give each other support, love, a brotherhood that cannot be broken. They follow their own moral code, which may at times be outside of the lines in regards to the laws we are governed by.

“We follow what actions we deem are right. Not the path society tells us we have to walk.”

Zeke - Pedro Soltz:

In the first book, Rough and Tumble, we met Jace and Viv and I fell in love. Now in this one, we meet Dr. Zeke Dugan, a trauma doctor. Zeke is about as alpha as they come. Did he make me swoon, oh my gosh yes! In the first book we also met Danny, a young man that the brotherhood is considering bringing into their family. When Danny’s sister, Gabrielle Parker, is injured in an attempted robbery in the home next door to hers, Zeke is called in to tend to her. One look and all his protective instincts kick into overdrive.

“It’s hard to breathe.”
“With your arms up?”
“No, when you touch me.”

 :

Where Zeke is active non-stop, unable to be still, Gabe is extremely introverted. She actually suffers from social anxiety. She is an auto mechanic and loves the solitary work which enables her the quiet she so craves. Zeke has never felt peace, rarely even sleeps. But somehow, when Gabe is near, he feels a calm he has never before experienced.

“Gabe was 100 percent long-term material. The type who deserved care and attention. Since when did he want that? Since you found someone worth it.”

“One simple little kiss. One modest press of her lips and he was a goner.”

 :

Something is going on in Danny and Gabe’s neighborhood. Something that threatens the woman’s safety that Zeke has fallen for. And, just as family does, the brothers all step in to do what they can and figure out what is going on.

Gabe doesn’t trust easily, though. She has been hurt before and she can’t understand what this beautiful man would see in her. Little by little, though, he breaks down her walls and she blossoms. I want to say here that I am a sucker for when a man calls his woman endearing words like Sweetheart, darling, love, or in this case, since Zeke is Portuguese, gatinha (kitten.)

“Sweetheart, knowing my day’s gonna end with me curled up next to you and my stomach full of whatever you cook, sweet dreams are a forgone conclusion.”

I am a highlighter and I had three full pages of highlighted quotes so obviously I can’t use them all but oh how I wish I could. So many swoony words.

“I’m not stupid. I know there’s no guarantee what will happen with us, and I know if it doesn’t work out, it will hurt. Bad. But you make the risk worth it.”

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10207113316342382:

This book has everything. Plenty of steam, swoon, smiles, sighs and suspense. Those “s” words are my favorites. Rhenna has done it again with this one. I couldn’t put it down. And what a perfect epilogue. I am just in love with this series. I believe Trevor, the cowboy in the family, is next. I can’t wait to get to know him and the woman that ropes him in.

“Maybe what I’ve been chasing my whole life was you, and now that you’re here, I don’t have to run anymore.”

5 KITTEN CLAWS STARS

Review @ Vanilla & Spice Books

After reading Rough & Tumble I became an instant fan of this author's writing. Her writing style is easygoing and she combines it with suspense and well fleshed-out characters. This recipe continues in Wild & Sweet.

SHORT PLOT INTRO

Gabe is about to feed her vacationing neighbor's cat (whose name is Astrid! ♡) when she runs into a burglar. Social Anxiety Disorder makes it hard for her to deal with strangers so having her injuries examined by paramedics? Nope, not gonna happen.

Zeke is with Gabe's brother when Danny receives a call that his sister got hurt. Being a trauma doctor Zeke knows what to do and they both rush to her. Gabrielle isn't comfortable with Zeke examining her either but she trusts her brother. Over the course of the next weeks Zeke takes care of the girl's medical needs.

Little by little he tears down her walls and gives her the courage to face her fears. He slays her dragons and has her back while she dips her toe into the unknown waters of being and talking with people. But can a highly educated doctor love a simple mechanic?

Gabe feels most comfortable under a car, the quiet and calm wile working give her room to let her thoughts wander. She is shy but has this sweetness about her and from the get-go Zeke feels a fierce protective impulse. This heroine has so many hangups it tore my heart apart while reading. Her biggest fear is being abandoned and left behind by those she loves.

"Talk to me, gatinha. What makes it so hard for you to believe I might be around long enough for you to get to know the people I love?"
"Because people leave." It was a whisper, nothing more, but it clawed him from the inside out, the sheer vulnerability in her eyes gutting him faster than any blade.

Gabrielle is all kinds of sweet and endearing. She might come off a little bit standoffish in the beginning, however, as soon as I realized how crippling her disorder was I gave her plenty of leeway. It was also her genuine willingness to tackle her anxiety that made me look past the hiccups along the way. Her transformation from socially awkward to being comfortable in a social setting happens gradually with baby steps.

Zeke...so alpha, so HOT, so smart, so generous. His tenderness and sweetness gutted me. (Calling dibs btw.). I didn't think that Jace could be topped but wow. Rhenna Morgan gives us a man to die for, to pant after and to swoon over. As soon as he knows that Gabe is relationship material he goes all in and lays it out. There is no uncertainty about what he wants.

"I want to be clear on something. Clear enough that when I get out of this car, I do it knowing you're under no more illusions."
"Okaaay..."
"This is a date. A one hundred percent, man asks a woman out, gets to know her, then kisser her stupid when it's over date. What this isn't is me being friendly with you in a purely platonic way.

He helps her to get out of her head and at the same time he reveals the woman behind the tomboy. With his encouragement Gabe also starts owning her femininity.
And wile he gives her strength and empowerment this girl calms Zeke's constant buzz under his skin and his hair trigger temper. What he usually soothed with high octane sports he now assuages just by being with Gabrielle.

Again we are let into the close camaraderie of the Brotherhood. I loved seeing Jace's flavor of sweetness projected on Gabrielle.
I am convinced that this author will continue to up the ante with every book. We have the story of a cowboy ahead of us and a hot nerd and best of all a man-ho Scot with a huge heart. I am so looking forward to Axel's story.

"You are absolutely, drop-dead gorgeous. Inside and out."
She frowned and opened her mouth.
"Beautiful," he repeated before she could speak. "Giving. Sweet. Smart. You may not see or accept that yet, but I'm going to repeat it until it sinks in and you believe it." He tugged her closer, guided her lips against his and murmured,"Until you feel it."

Rhenna Morgan delivers an utterly romantic tale of two polar opposite characters who just work because they are so different. They give each other what they need.

This story offered everything I expected. There were smiles and deep emotions and a little bit of righteous anger. I loved every word. I fell so hard for Zeke and Gabe, they still linger in my mind. Next up is Trevor and I can't wait to get my hands on him but I'm sure I'll love him just as much as Jace and Zeke.

The second Haven brother to get a story is Zeke Dugan, the Doctor and seemingly more levelheaded of the group. I have to say, his story had a completely different tone than it's predecessor. Not in a bad way, it just seemed to not be as intense as Rough & Tumble was. I liked the direction it took with it's lighter feel and I thought the heroine, Gabrielle was just amazing. She was shy and unsure of herself in social situations but I loved how she let Zeke help her push through those moments.

Overall, I enjoyed these two together and I liked that there were still hints of mystery thrown in that kept me intrigued and itching to see if my suspicions were correct. I would say you don't need to read this series in order, though I do think reading the first book before this one will give you a better understanding of these men.

I’m sooo enjoying the “Men of Haven” series! Each book is about a different brother; and the group is brothers by choice, not by blood! They are loyal to each other, and the loyalty and protection extends to the women they choose to claim as well!

Each instalment includes a story about one of the brothers falling in love, sizzling sex, and a bit of a suspenseful situation with certain enemies. The brothers are honourable men, but they will not always follow the law if it means protecting their family. They do whatever it takes to protect each other and the ones they love!

This was book #2, and it was Zeke’s story... he is a doctor and falls hard for the sister of a potential new member of the Haven men. Falling in love with Gabe is a challenge as she battles with severe social anxiety. Zeke is up for the challenge though, because he is positive she is more than worth it!!

I have definitely fallen hard for this series and I highly recommend it if you have love for a protective and a major alpha male! Not only will you adore Zeke; but the other brothers will captivate you as well!!!!

The Haven Brotherhood, a group who knows what a tough life can be, family by choice, always having each others backs and willing to obliterate the rules to do the right thing. Rhenna Morgan is back with WILD AND SWEET the perfect title as another of the brothers finds what he wants and is willing to go through anything to hang on tight.

He’s a trauma doctor by calling, but he is a Brother by choice. Zeke is a healer, but when he meets the severely introverted Gabrielle and discovers the timid, tender and broken side of her, he will destroy anyone or anything that threatens her. Now all he has to do is prove he is the real deal, a man she can trust not to hurt her, a man who will be there through thick and thin. It won’t be easy, Gabrielle has been hurt in the past, left behind, betrayed and is convinced it must be her fault, yet standing in front of her is a man who sees all that is beautiful about her. Is it a dream? Is he blind to the truth as she sees it?

Gabe is more comfortable under the hood of a car than in the presence of people. She is a recluse who hides away within the safety of her home, but is her last sanctuary from the world becoming a battle field for danger? An unknown enemy is terrorizing the picture perfect neighborhood she lives in and Gabe is determined to find a way to fight back as neighbors are threatened, their homes vandalized. Zeke is just as determined to keep her safe and the Haven Brotherhood is at his side. Will this alpha man who is always in hyper-drive be able to convince Gabe the world will be a better place with her in his protective arms? Will it take the ultimate sacrifice to prove his love is just for her?

I can honestly say I have NEVER met a doctor quite like Zeke, the ultimate alpha with a heart and a great bedside manner! He goes above and beyond to give Gabe what she needs and to help her re-join the human race, and the Brotherhood is right by his side. A group of bad boys with soft and gooey insides.

Grab the smelling salts because this steamy, yet sweet romance WILL make you swoon as the doctor prescribes just the right touch to ignite the passion that is buried deep within Gabrielle. Rhenna Morgan’s bad boys are NOT knuckle draggers, they are brilliant, successful men who have made it in spite of their backgrounds and the pheromones are running hot! Great reading, great characters, tense action and romance, so what are you waiting for?

I received an ARC edition from Carina Press in exchange for my honest and voluntary review. (Yeah, like I'd say no to awesome reading!)

Buddy read with Carvanz ☺ her review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Zeke Dugan is a emergency room doctor that just gets off shift and is at a bar with his brothers. He sees his recruit for the brotherhood Danny and calls him over to talk but it is interrupted when Danny's sister Gabe calls and tells him about the break in next door. Zeke and his brothers decide to join him to check things out and Zeke can check on any injuries the sister may have suffered.

Gabrielle Parker aka Gabe is a mechanic that gets injured by an intruder next door when she goes to check on the house next door. She suffers from social anxiety and because of it has a hard time with new people and can be seen as very rude. It is why she doesn't want to deal with the paramedics that are trying to see to her injury.

When Zeke sees Gabe he is taken with her but hesitant with what he knows of her background and her suspicious nature as well as how it may affect her brother for them to get involved but he knows he is will to take the chance. The only problem is that Gabe being very cautious can cause problems as well as ruin a good relationship due to how she sees things. The only thing she doesn't count on is that Zeke won't let her get away no matter what happens.

I didn't know what to expect but I ended up really enjoying it. Zeke was such a sweet, sexy, alpha man. He knew all the right moves to get Gabe and I loved that he spoke Portuguese. Hello my fav song https://youtu.be/bULwR_LeLlc which is my song pick for this read. I did like Gabe and felt for her issues and could understand. I think the thing was she stopped growing after some things she dealt with in her past and in this situation she was forced to grow for what she wanted. She had to start to see things in a bigger light. She lived to stay safe and protected in her own little box. When things changed around her she knew she couldn't and gave the effort in when it was really hard and she also could admit when she was wrong. I totally respected her for that.

I really enjoyed this one and would recommend for sure.

Wild & Sweet is the second book in "The Haven Brotherhood" series.

I gave the first book a solid 4 stars; this second one is 3,75 stars rounded up to 4.

I recommend this series for a nice pastime if you like alpha men who are a yummy and soft like a marsh-mellow inside 😊

Although each book is a stand-alone, I would advise you to read them in order to get the full effect.

*********************************************

The plot & the characters

In Wild & Sweet, we have a trauma doctor as a hero and he is awesome and a heroine with the face of a faerie but she has Social Anxiety Disorder, which makes her a bit of an annoying character although she doesn’t intend to be so.

Zeke is smitten with Gabe at the first sight and he is very patient with her. He approaches her with utmost care and sensitivity to earn her trust and although Gabe runs away from people, she is smitten with Zeke, too so she really tries hard.

She would be really annoying if she didn’t try hard but she does… she really tries hard.

Sometimes, she questions too much why he wants to be with a woman like her, who has a social phobia but he slowly makes her believe her worth. He makes her believe how much peace she brings into his life.

I always prefer a more confident woman as a heroine but at least Gabe had a psychological disorder that would explain her insecurity, which is way better than a doormat heroine.

Gabe is more willing to let Zeke into her life than his brothers. The crowd frightens her but seeing they are good people, she slowly gets used to them as well.

Gabe’s brother Danny is the last guy to join the Haven Brotherhood. Some time during their story, Danny joins Haven Brothers but Gabe questions everything new and everyone new so the process is a bit painful with Gabe’s suspicions until she finally trusts them all.

The romance and passion between Zeke and Gabe is a good one and their romance is enriched with a bit of suspense, which is something I normally do not prefer in my romance books but I loved this group of guys so I was OK with it.

*********************************************

Writing:

The writing of the book is good. It's in the 3rd person and normally I dislike this style but Ms. Morgan pulls it off so I was OK with it.

I can accept any style as long as it makes me feel and Ms. Morgan makes me feel.

*********************************************

Safety:

As for safety, the book is totally safe.

There is no OW/OM drama.

There is no cheating, no separation.

He is no man-wh*re, she is no virgin despite her inexperience.

*********************************************

SOME QUOTES FROM THE BOOK

“I don’t blame you for being careful,” Danny said. “A girl like you, sweet and always willing to look after the people you care about, you almost have to be. But the brothers? They might have their own way of doing things, but they do them in a way they’re proud of. That they believe in. They take care of each other and the people they love, and they do it with a vengeance. Honest to God, I hope they’re around a lot more. I hope they let me in their circle so I can learn from them and make my life better like they have. If that happens and you want to keep your distance when they’re around, that’s cool. Just do me a favor and try not to treat ’em like they’re scum, because they’re not. Not to me.”

***

“This is a date. A one hundred percent, man asks woman out, gets to know her, then kisses her stupid when it’s over date. What this isn’t is me being friendly with you in a purely platonic way.”

She blinked. Then again. And again.

“Was that clear enough?” he said.

***

She could do this. If he could fight for her, be patient and sensitive with her anxiety, then she could fight, too.

***

“I’ll never be like those other women tonight. Not really.”

“I don’t want those women.” His gaze flicked to something behind her and he stood, turning her and holding her in place with hands at both shoulders. “I want this one.”

Her heart jolted at the reflection in the mirror. Her pale torso on the backdrop of his muscled and tanned one. The strength behind his hand splayed across her soft belly. Her wide and unknowing eyes contrasted with the burning predator’s gaze behind her. An artist’s dream, the lighting in the room making the image that much more intense by the nearly black-and-white coloring.

“Look. See what I see.”

It's LIVE! Yay!

All I can say is, if you love gritty, sexy, swoony romance with a big heart, you must put this one on your list. This series is cranking up to be the best contemp romance I've read in a long time.

Zeke is determined yet not overly aggressive. His nurturing nature is the perfect match for Gabe who struggles with social anxiety. And while the man is patient, once he sets his mind on Gabe, there's no going back. She's his, and he'll wait as long as it takes for her to figure it out.

Another HOT and SIZZLING addition to the Haven Brotherhood series. Morgan is on a roll. Recommended to all contemp lovers who enjoy a true romance that sizzles the pages and melts your heart.

The sexy Haven Brotherhood alphas are back in Wild & Sweet.

Brothers by choice, the Haven Brotherhood is a group of men bonded by life circumstances. They will do what it takes to keep each other and the ones they love safe. Following their own moral code, they don't always stick to the laws of society but make their own path to justice.

This time Zeke, doctor by trade, falls for the complex little mechanic that stumbles into his life.

Zeke is uber alpha while Gabe is an introvert, loving her privacy and flying below the radar. She doesn't understand what Zeke sees in her but Zeke is persistent in his pursuit and whittles away her carefully constructed walls.

Everything is great between them until Zeke feels its necessary to take on the real estate group that is pushing to grab land in Gabe's neighborhood.

Zeke is a swoon worthy hero that will melt your heart.

Gabe might like to go unnoticed, she still knows how to stand up for what she believes in.

Wild & Sweet touches your heart, emotionally connects you to the characters all the while making you smile and swoon. What more could you ask for in a contemporary romance.

I received this ARC copy of Wild & Sweet from Carina Press. This is my honest and voluntary review. Wild & Sweet is set for publication April 1, 2017.

Wild & Sweet is certainly the best in this series so far. I have not read the whole books in this series. Miss Morgan won me over Zeke. He is such a sweet and patience hero. I uave weak spot for patience men.

Gabe has social anxiety. I can relate to her. Being nervous and uneasy around new people. Good thing her character is not overly drama queen/ needy or weak.
The plot is simple and yet good.

Overall a very enjoyable book.

I loved the first book but I gotta admit I loved Zeke and Gabe even more.

Zeke is just as much as a strong alpha as Jace was but we got to see more of a tender side to Zeke. Gabe has a pretty bad case of social anxiety and the way Zeke was so patient with her makes him one of the sweetest alpha's I've read. He accepted her limitations from the start. He never asked her to change but he did push her to try.

As a reader, you do need to know that you will have to be patient with Gabe. Her issues can seem like too much but it's also realistic. I liked her character and loved these two together.

I still think the brotherhood enhances the story in each book. I enjoy how they all take care of each other and their mommas. Onto book 3...

OMG I have a new favorite series. Contemporary Romance is not my typical read or one I fall for, but WOW have the Haven Boys hooked me.

After finishing book one, Rough & Tumble, I new I was going to continue the series. I went out and bought book two, Wild & Sweet. I couldn't resist buying. And, so after finished book two, I bought three, Claim & Protect. Do you see what’s happening? Ms. Morgan has acquired a fan and one who will be complete the collection for the Haven Brotherhood series as they come out. Now let’s get to the novel.

Zeke, oh my darling doctor. He is so sweet, understand, and patient with Gabrielle. It was so endearing to see how wonderful he was with Gabe. I loved that he has a plan. How he takes his time, notices when she’s having trouble in certain environments and situations, and then he helps to make it easier for her.

Gabrielle is the adorable in a tomboy/girl next door way. She’s got some issues and one is anxiety. It’s affect her life in a big way. I like how the author incorporated this issue into her character and how it was talked about. Haveing anxiety is tough and many people can relate, so when Zeke shows up and doesn’t give up on her, but helps. It truly is sensational and will melt your heart.

Their romances was so wonderful. Little by little Zeke breaks her down and helps Gabe to blossom and in the process Zeke finds the calm and quiet he’s been searching for.

Besides the romance we have a little action suspense when things in Danny and Gabe’s neighborhood start to happen.

This novel is swoon worthy. It’s emotional, captivating, and heartfelt. I highly recommend picking up this series.

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Wow! I really enjoyed this read! I had seen this series on my Goodreads feed and thought it looked interesting so when a friend suggested a buddy read I decided to try it. Best decision ever.

Gabe has social issues and can sometimes seem brusque and rude as a result. She doesn’t like being in a crowd and despises being the center of attention. When Zeke meets her, he understands the challenges she faces and immediately begins to help her face them all in an effort to claim her as his own.

I loved that Zeke was all alpha hero and looked out for Gabe, honest and up front with the little side business he and his brothers are involved in. He knew it would be a hard sell for her but as she grows to trust him a little he is determined to share that part of his life with her. Of course this calls for some drama as a result, but I couldn’t argue with the resulting actions of the brothers as they cover not only Zeke’s back but Gabe’s as well.

There are plenty of alpha males as well as fun quirky women characters to add depth, some really hot steamy scenes that I found myself drooling over, and suspense as the hero and heroine find their happy ever after.

Now I’m wondering how fast I can read the previous book and when the next is going to be available.

I really enjoyed Wild & Sweet. Loved the hero. Zeke is the perfect alpha. He never waived in his feelings for Gabe and was so sweet and patient. I do kind of wish I had read book 1 in the series first as it would have helped understand the brotherhood better. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

How I missed this one on my kindle I have no idea? I am kinda glad I did cause when I found it I have the next books already, so I don't have to wait on them.

Zeke and Gabe, a trauma doctor and a grease monkey, are a very unlikely pairing especially with her social anxiety. But with lots of love and kisses Zeke helps her overcome it, and she gains a bigger family from it. Loved seeing all the boys again.

Plot and Story Line
In Wild and Sweet we are taken on another emotional roller coaster that Rhenna Morgan gives us once again. In Wild and Sweet I was really surprised by how much I fell for this story. This author never ceases to amaze me. We are introduced to some human factors that you never imagined. Our heroine especially, we see some mental handicaps here that really makes us look more deeply at ourselves and at others. Our heroine suffers from a disability that prevents her from making social ties. She can't handle groups of any kind and gets powerful panic attacks any time she is in a social situation. Also we see more defined lines of good and evil in this one as well. Gabrielle went through some pretty traumatic experiences as a kid and to her certain things are always right and wrong. So when she starts to fall for our Hero, whose brotherhood live by their own "code" we see her really struggle.
You're wrong on that. You have no idea how much you give me. For the first time in my life, I don't have to chase some kind of thrill just to take the edge off. I can actually sit still and enjoy what's going on around me. I'm even sleeping for a change. Being next to you settles me. Or, maybe what I've been chasing my whole life was you, and now that you're here, I don't have to run anymore. Whatever is is, I like it. A lot. Don't discount what a gift you being in my life is.

We understand the struggle and it tears you in two because you can see both sides and how the characters almost get torn apart. But we also see how love and understanding can ground you and stabilize fear and misgivings. There is so much depth to human nature that it blows my mind as I think about it. We also get to see the bond between the brothers here. Gabrielle's brother is their prospect. Her brother has never really known a family connection other than his relationship with his sister. But the brotherhood is his support net and we see what a great connection and bond he has with them. But I also liked that this bond we see happen doesn't detract from the actual romance either. It has a realistic tone to the story and I just wanted more of this book and was so sad when it ended because I was SO not ready. Bring on book three because I can't wait!!!
The Cover
I have mixed feelings about this cover....I like the rugged feel to it, but it has that almost cartoonish feel to the cover.

Mixed feelings for this story.
Zeke was mostly a swoon boyfriend and Gabe was sweet but so full of insecurities.
There were parts that I liked and others I didn’t.

'Wild & Sweet' by Rhenna Morgan is book Two in the "Haven Brotherhood" series. This is the story of Zeke Dugan and Gabrielle Parker 'Gabe'. I haven't yet read the previous book in this series, so for me this was a standalone book. Gabe was raised by her father and brother Danny. Danny has found some new friends and wanting to join the Haven Brotherhood. Zeke is one of the members and they question among themselves who Danny's sister is When Gabe is hurt after a neighborhood break in, Zeke goes with Danny to check on Gabe. When Zeke and Gabe meet for the first time they are very much attracted to one another. But Gabe suffers from anxiety and doesn't interact much with people. Zeke is a DR and understands her issues. We see their relationship slowly grow into love. There is some drama in this book but I just loved these two characters together. Zeke was what Gabe needed and she was what he needed. "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Another hit with this one! Loved getting to know more about the brotherhood. The author took some time and did some research on this one. Good information about anxiety disorders. Zeke could not have been a better match fro Gabe. Great writing. Great story line. Looking forward to all the rest of the series!

What could you possibly say about an extremely handsome man, who happens to be a doctor...and oh yeah, will totally lay down his life to save yours? Sigh.....not many words can express how amazing that is, right? Zeke is all of this and some.

Zeke is one of the six brothers of Haven. Not really brothers, more like bros that are family. These guys have been through a lot together and for each other. So much so that they formed the brotherhood to continue doing the right things in life. Zeke being a doctor has it's benefits. Not only does he do the right thing at work, but he's not afraid to help his brothers when necessary. Sometimes bending the law and ethics to do so.

Gabrielle is the sister of one of the "soon to be brothers", Danny. She suffers from social anxiety, mainly because people just don't get her, but she's definitely an introvert...who happens to be a kick ass mechanic on kick ass cars. Even though she's an introvert, she cares about her neighbors and the neighborhood. One night while doing her neighborly duties, she ends up being attacked by a burglar. Or at least that's what it's meant to look like. Good thing the Brotherhood is there to assess the situation. Turns out that there is more to the break in.

Needless to say, Zeke being a doctor was there to make sure Gabrielle was ok after the attack. But he can't get her out of his head. There's just something about her that keeps drawing him in. Since she's an introvert, he start making house calls to check on her and boy oh boy, there's some serious chemistry going on there. But, she's also the sister of a potential brother and things can get pretty sticky. Especially when the neighborhood isn't as safe as they all thought it was.

Loved this book. Zeke is amazing and the chemistry he and Gabrielle have is so wild and sweet. The action pulls you in, but the love we witness blooming between these two is enough to make you swoon. I can't wait to see what the other brothers have to offer next...

From the first pages of book one, I wanted to know more about Zeke. I'm so glad book two is all Zeke and all wonderful. He's such a caring and amazing character. I really enjoyed every minute of his page time. Happily, I also totally loved Gabrielle. She's funny and sweet, shy and unsure of herself. But wow does she try really hard to break free of the dark thoughts that have plagued her life for so many years. I loved the story, mostly because the characters just worked really well together, but also because individually they're both very interesting.

The book has a good amount of time with the other brothers, thankfully. I am becoming more and more intrigued with these men and can't wait to find out who's up next. The Alpha in all of them is always a bit different from others I've read in the past and I like that a lot.

There were times when one major plot line felt a bit too easy for them to handle. A bit too simple in the way they were able to go about dealing with it, but those little issues I had never took away from the fun I had while reading.

Bring on book 3!

This was damn near perfect. The hero was one hundred percent everything I love in a hero. I adored him. The story was really good and the action/mystery part didn't overwhelm the romance at all. The sex scenes were hot and well placed, not just there for the sake of it. The heroine has social anxiety which was handled really well. I just loved this.

This would easily have been five stars but I kinda wish the heroine had resisted a bit. The hero would have chased her to the ends of the earth so I kinda wish I had got to see that a bit. She got caught too easily and I'd have preferred a bit of a chase!

The blurb to me makes this sound sort of like it's a motorcycle club book or similar, but the atmosphere is NOTHING like that. (I hate motorcycle club books) It's more like a family by choice that bend the rules to protect their family kind of club. There isn't any sleazy talk about woman or them being treated like shit. The men are total gentlemen. Even the manhoe type brother talks about woman like he appreciates them not like they are toys.

description

I can't tell you how happy I am to have finally started reading Rhenna Morgan... and am kicking myself at the same time for not getting on the ball sooner! There are very few authors these days that will inspire me to read a contemporary romance. The angst and annoying heroines were just getting to be too much for my patience. So having another author in this category really makes me happy, and Rhenna is definitely serving up some swoonworthy heroes and likable heroines.

If you haven't read the first book in the series, Rough & Tumble, then you are totally missing out. But if you want to start with Wild & Sweet and read out of order, you should be fine. Basically what you need to know is that the Haven Brotherhood is a group of unconventional alpha male bikers. These men are totally hot, totally possessive alpha male, and totally successful. From club owners to pilots to doctors... these are bikers outside the norm when it comes to the MC romance trope. My favorite happens to be Axel, but I wouldn't kick a one of 'em out of my bed for eating crackers. (Sorry, my southern came out there.)

Our heroine in this installment is Danny's sister, Gabrielle "Gabe" Parker. (You may remember Danny from Rough & Tumble; he is a sort of "prospect" for the Haven Brotherhood.) Gabe was a unique and refreshing heroine - a shy and awkward mechanic who suffers from social anxiety disorder. In my opinion, writing an insecure heroine is always a gamble... there is a fine line between her being sympathetic or exasperatingly annoying. But Rhenna did a great job with Gabe. I found her to be likable and inspiring. Gabe recognized her shortcomings and she worked to overcome them, and I found myself rallying behind her in every situation where her anxiety was an issue. When she put her anxiety aside, she was a quiet and uncomplicated character who loved her family, had a huge heart, and served as a calming influence on our dynamic hero.

Said dynamic hero was Zeke Dugan, the thrill-seeking sexy Brazilian trauma doc with anger issues. Zeke himself has a lot of nervous energy, always on the move to try to burn away that edge of anger. Between the emergency room, jumping out of planes, and speeding down the race track - Zeke is one of those guys who just can't sit still. His profession made him the most interesting biker for me... I definitely don't think scrubs and stethoscopes when I normally envision a biker. But Zeke made it work. I also liked that he was Brazilian and threw out Portugese phrases here and there. I can't think of another Brazilian hero that I have read in a while, so that aspect provided some nice variety as well. Probably Zeke's best traits were his patience and understanding when it came to Gabe. I loved loved loved how he handled her with care and helped her overcome her issues without being pushy or judgmental. He was a total winner in my book.

The romance between Zeke and Gabe was great. It wasn't instalove, but was paced nicely within the confines of the story. Zeke had to do some work to get past Gabe's social anxiety and Gabe had to overcome her own issues to make the relationship work. And she tried so hard y'all... you couldn't not be proud of her with every step forward she took. This story wasn't quite as steamy as Rough & Tumble, but it still had a good level of heat. Rhenna's writing is hot and sexy without being crass... which is always good for a contemporary romance.

I enjoyed the side plot that was happening with the romance... it was integrated well and helped advance the story when we needed some suspense or action to get the adrenaline going. I won't say what this conflict involves as I think the readers may enjoy finding that out for themselves.

I recommend this series to fans of contemporary romance and alpha heroes. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher, Carina Press.

AAHHHHH!!!! THIS BOOK!!!! !@#$%^&*() One of my faves this year!

Sweet, cute, romantic with a tiny dash of suspense. I love it!!! I am SO in love with Dr. Zeke Dugan!

Full review!

It’s just so easy to fall in love with a story that has no heavy drama but too full of feels that you couldn’t help to reread the moment you’re finished. That’s the exact book hangover case with Wild & Sweet by a new-to-me author, Rhenna Morgan. Her writing was fluid, not boring and she created the total polar opposites of characters who are just so perfect for each other. Also–swoon level? Maximum! Satisfaction guaranteed! While there are things that might bother other readers like lack of wow factor in terms of plot twist, I overlooked it because I was enjoying their story way too much. This is the second book in the series and it stands alone. I have not read the first one but I didn’t feel like lost at all. The history of how the Brotherhood came about isn’t here so maybe it’s preferable to read the first one if this is something that you wanted to know.

Gabrielle isn’t even in the picture until she was met by an accident (the looming mystery of the story) and her brother needed to look after her. Her brother, Danny, is somehow connected to Haven Brotherhood because of Zeke. But he’s not a member of the Brotherhood yet. He’s trying to be one though, learning all the tricks and other things that they really do. So Danny and Zeke is connected in a way that Zeke was the one who did the introduction between Danny and the rest of the brothers. Which is why when Danny needed help to check on his sister, Zeke being a trauma doc, stepped in because he saw how anti-people Gabe was.

And I think that was one of the things I loved about this book (spoiler: I love everything about it LOL): Zeke’s patience to Gabe’s flaws. She has a huge trust issue on people because of what her ex did, also her mother to her. She just doesn’t let people in that easily and doubts people’s intentions on her. That’s the main reason she kept Zeke at arm’s length. But she’s not annoying or anything. In fact, I found her quirk a little cute and adorable because the awkwardness and chemistry between her and Zeke were really palpable. But it was really Zeke who brought out all the romance in the book. He’s patient, alpha but not over the top, loyal and perfect love interest material because he knew his intentions well and he’s not afraid to go after it.

In fact, he even told Danny about it! That’s a huge plus. Telling your girl’s brother that you wanted to pursue her.

And really, the story was perfectly romantic with a dash of suspense despite the lack of shocking plot twist because Gabe finally worked out her issues on her own for her own good and also because she wanted to be better for Zeke. And that epilogue where Zeke revealed his future plans with Gabe? AAAAAHHHHHH. I love it so much!!

Despite the plot twist being predictable (in a way that I figured it would happen, it’s just a matter of who and when), Wild & Sweet is one of those books that I won’t ever get tired of rereading over and over. It’s an instant reread book! I love it with all my heart and I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Wild and Sweet is the second book in my new favorite contemporary series by Rhenna Morgan. Seriously, if you haven't met the Haven Brotherhood yet by reading about Jace in "Rough and Tumble", you absolutely should do that now. And guess what? Zeke is just as appealing as Jace, just in an entirely different way.

The Story
Zeke is a trauma doc and is one of the amazing men who make up the Haven Brotherhood. When the sister of one of his close friends has a dangerous run-in, Zeke comes to the rescue and is knocked off his feet. Gabe is a mechanic and has never been great with people. When Zeke begins to show interest in her, Gabe has trouble believing that it's real.

My Thoughts
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. It's like Morgan has taken a different male fantasy for each book and drops them one by one for us like candy on a trail that I never want to end. Zeke, the hot doc with a heart of gold, is not as obvious and brazen as Jace from the previous book, but he sneaks up on you and by the end of the book, I couldn't pick between the two. His care and process in making Gabe feel safe and loved would make any woman jealous. Gabe is also an interesting character in her own right, and it is refreshing that Morgan has no inhibitions about her characters having flaws like normal people. It makes it that much more satisfying when those normal people find exceptional love.

The Bottom Line-
This is an excellent addition to this series, and I will be buying every book in this series. If you like your contemporary with amazing alpha males and just enough edge to have an excellent plot without overdosing on the danger drama, these books are so for you! 5 stars

Wild and sweet was fantastic read. Such a page turner with intense plot combined with great characters and beautiful love story. I loved both Zeke and Gabe. Both so different but perfect together. I loved how their relationship develops how with Zeke Gabe starts to open herself to the world. It is also great to see when Gabe finally accepts Zeke and his big family. Their chemistry is off the charts and they have some really hot action.
Great story. Recommended!
