Caught With My Best Friend's Dad

Rate this book
When did Ainsley Miller grow up? And how did she stay so damn innocent? Ainsley's my daughter's best friend-practically family to me. I've made her pancakes after slumber parties, chased away boys who got too close, and carpooled her to soccer practice. But she's not such a little girl anymore. She's a young woman with red lips, dangerous curves, and short little skirts that leave little to the imagination. Now she's home for the summer, and she's staying under my roof. This sexy little thing should be off-limits, but when she tells me she's been saving herself just for me? I have to make her mine, no matter the consequences. Author's Oh, this story is going to make you blush. It's sweet, sassy, and oh-so-sexy. If you're looking for a naughty thrill that will get your heart racing and body tingling, you'll love this novella. You can read it in one sitting, but the fun will last a lot longer...

4 DADDY IS JUST A NAME STARS

"The only way I can protect you is if I take you myself. If I make you mine. If I steal that cherry and bury myself in my Baby Girl...” He stares at my flat tummy once more. “I’m going to come inside of you, Ainsley.”

description

This was a very mild daddy kink book for me.
They only use the names daddy and baby girl. The rest of the time the heroine would call him Mr. Cavanaugh.
This I found way way more disturbing because she wanted to be with him but she kept calling him by this impersonal name.
The hero's name was Stone but she called him that only once throughout the whole book.
This was just odd to me. Why not call him "Stone" when they are alone?
The name daddy come out sometimes but mostly she called him and thought of him as Mr Cavanaugh.
That's just stranger to me.

description

The heroine is your typical little girl type. She has an absent father and she became fixated on her daddy figure. Her Real dad didn't feature much in her life, based on what from we are told about her growing up.
Come on, He couldn't even be bothered to come home during the holidays.
We are told that she spent most of her young life with her best friend and her dad, Mr. Cavanaugh.

description

Therefore, I think it was natural that she made him her "Daddy" in this relationship. He's been celibate for over 10 years and he had never had a relationship like this. Aka Daddy-little girl.
He tells her
“I’ve had no one in my bed for ten years, Ains...I don’t make commitments lightly. If we do this—you’re mine. For now, forever. You’ll belong to me, and I’ll spend every waking minute proving to the world that you’re my baby girl.”

He just wanted to be with her, take care of her and claim her as his!
And I found that HOT!

description

Now, Why it lost a star was because of the whole weird name thingy and the too short epilogue 6 months later. I just wanted more time with them together.
Their relationship seems great but without more time together, it's impossible to tell.
It was awesome to see them happy together but I wanted more.
I'm greedy that way!

description

Also, I would only recommend this book to those who don't mind this type of light play. It's not for everyone but it didn't bother me because it's just a name. Maybe it's because I'm French that this doesn't bother me!?

Safety: no cheating, no other woman some light other man, hero has been married he was a widower and the heroine was a virgin. No condoms.

3.5 Daddy stars. This is a super sweet Daddy/Baby Girl read. Ainsley and Mr Cavanaugh haven't seen each other for a while since she left for college. Ainsley has grown into a woman and has always loved him. When he sees her he knows he wants to make her his. I will definitely read more by this new to me author.

*MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS*
To be honest, this book made me a bit uncomfortable. I have no problem with daddy thingy-nickname (though I don't prefer it - I would very much go without it), a girl with typical daddy issues, meets a man and calls him daddy in bed (or out of it). However, I do get extremely uncomfortable if that said girl with daddy issues, wants said man who practically raised her and I felt it was a little too close to incest. Oh and I had a problem with how people reacted to them being a couple.
She giggles, taking another sip just to spite me. My palm heats with the realization that I want to spank her for defying me. This girl doesn’t listen. She never has. She’s a defiant little thing, and that only makes me want to tame the hell out of her. Make her mine. Domesticate her and own her sweet little pussy.

Ainsley Miller (20) acted like a little girl, - which btw, made things more uncomfortable, with her giggles and her innocent. Yeah, she felt like a 15-16 year old naive, little girl. While Stone Cavanaugh (45) did have his moments. I liked his possessiveness and his protectiveness, I just didn't like how quickly Cavanaugh and Ainsley got together, and suddenly they loved each other.
““I’ll be the one who takes your virginity.” He holds my chin, ensuring I stare into his eyes. Not chastising, but strict and comforting. “I’m going to fuck you, Ains. Your innocence? That cherry? It belongs to me now.””

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (Adult) Contemporary Romance
Series: - Standalone
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Stone Cavanaugh
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Probably not.
Would I recommend this book/series? - If you like a Daddy.
Will I read this again in the future? - No.
Rating - 2 stars.

Re-read 1: probably took it down a star. Guess my standards have gotten higher lol

I was not expecting this short read to be so amazing! It was hot and sweet. I loved Stone's super possessive attitude. I was a little embarrassed at first by Ainsley's practically throwing herself at him but I just prefer the men do the chasing so I was probably oversensitive to that. I highly recommend this quick read!

LOVED this book!!!!!! It was a five star read for me. Loved the commitment, devotion and attraction between Ainsley and Stone. He was alphalicious yet sweet, totally committed, protective, faithful and caring . I loved Ainsley's unwavering love for Stone. The sexy scenes were off the charts HAWT!!!! Ainsley is Stone's daughter's bff, he is also her dad's bf. Ainsley is home from college and has matured, he is instantly attracted but fought the feeling. Ainsley was having none of that, after waiting for him, he has finally noticed her. After the first kiss, she was his forever!!! Loved everything about this book, EVERYTHING!!! Looking forward to reading more from this author. Excellent debut

This book had such potential and yet it fell really flat for me.
So.... if this book was a screenplay and had real actors, I would have wanted to rip my eyes out of their sockets because the "acting" would be so shitty. The heroine can't stop fucking giggling and winking i was starting to think she had an eye problem. And the daughter of the Hero was OF COURSE over sexualized and fuck-all annoying.
AND AND AND
The worst part of all it had the "no baby I want to wait 10 chapters before I finally take your virginity so I can make this book 3 times longer than it needs to be" action going on.
Others might like it, but this book just put me in a bad mood.

"I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book"

I love taboo stories as much as the next person, but this one didn't completely do it for me.

Ainsley has been in love, or at least crushing, with her best friend's dad since she was 13. Now that she is older will he notice her now.
Stone can't believe that this woman is the little girl that he practically help raise. He doesn't want to lust after her, but his libido and heart, has other plans.

Pros:
I love that the author didn't gloss over the fact that Ainsley and Stone's relationship would not be easy. She made it known that some people, and not just family, but society in general, may not be accepting of this particular relationship.

The sexual tension between them felt very real and palpable.

Cons:
Constantly stating that Ainsley is sleeping with her best friend's father. I get it. It's the title of the freaking book.

Ainsley constantly calling Stone, Mr. Cavanaugh, even when they were alone and even in her head. I understand this up until they are actually intimate with each other.

The word choices, such as kitty, and a 20 year old woman who seemed too much like a 13 year old girl with the way she talked or thought at times.

This story would have worked for me more if she had been a mature acting woman of the same age that was finally getting what she wanted with this man who should be off limits.

Caught With My Best Friend's Dad is one of those romances that grab your attention and keep it until the very end. Ainsley is Kim’s BFF and also in love with Kim’s father-and has been for quite some time, since she was about 13 years old. Mr. Stone Cavanaugh is Kim's dad and he has practically raised both girls since Ainsley spent a lot of time over at Kim’s house as kids and has pretty much grown up there .
Stone now sees how much Ainsley has grown and has a hard time remembering that Ainsley is his daughter’s best friend but he does and yet he wants to do so many deliciously dirty things to her and with her. There is this own “Daddy” theme going on between them that wasn’t an actual thing but more of a sexual thing and boy, was it hot. Its more of a will they or wont they succumb to the attraction or will they let the fear of their family keep them apart and deny them the love that’s there.
This is one fast moving story that has the heat, the forbidden quality that I love and one kinky theme that I definitely love reading about. The ending is a twist I didn’t see coming. I would definitely recommend this book and I cannot wait to see what the author has next up.

My Rating: 4.6 stars *****

I really enjoyed this book! It is a sweet and sexy Daddy/girl, romance. I really enjoy older men younger women books and this one didn't disappoint. I especially like books with a taboo theme and this has that theme in spades. So if you are looking for a sexy, sweet book about a sexy older father and his daughter's best friend this book is definitely for you!

This was fine.

A really quick read. Got this from KU.

Unfortunately I probably won't remember I read this by next week.

This has an age-gap (she's 18-20), he's in his 40's? Best friends dad & best friends daughter trope but we didn't see a whole lot of interaction between Mitch & Stone or Ainsely & Stone's daughter (I can't remember her name). Decent daddy-kink.

This is one of, the best, gap books I’ve read in, a while. There are always so, many where the men, want to own, and, or breed the young women. This relationship between them is, extremely mutual. It is not dark, it is humorous, and had the drama element, of what family is, too. Ainsley has been a part of, Kimme and her dad, Stone Cavanaugh’s family for, as far back, as they can remember. You see, Ainsley’s parents are either, working or on vacation. Leaving, Ainsley to feel like, an afterthought.

But, it is now, summer break. Ainsley is coming home to, Stone’s, and Kimme’s home. Her parents are in Italy during that time. Since Kimme has a new job she can not pick up Ainsley from the airport and she won’t be home at all because it's her boyfriend's mom’s birthday and she will be staying there. So, it will be just her longtime crush and her. Stone’s cool with it all until he lays eyes on her and realizes he hadn’t seen her in a long while and it turns out she's a late bloomer.

The toothpick that went off to school is not this voluptuous, sexy, woman he is picking up. She had always been bubbly and outgoing. Add that with a sultry temptress she has a natural ability to gravitate toward, and, Stone is harder than steel. But, when she makes her play for him, he knows in his heart that she is, the first woman that has stirred anything in him since his, wife passed. He is also smart enough to know, that if he gets one taste of her it's all a sealed deal she's his.

This was such an endearing couple, you could really feel the love they have, for one another. Each of their kisses, hugs, or sexual encounters have such meaning. Also, that even though Stone is a big guy, and Ainsley is a small thing, he is so tender with her. Very enjoyable characters.

This was a very sweet, spicy romance between a 45-year-old man and his daughter's 19-year-old best friend.
Ainsley "Ains" Miller grew up around Stone Cavanaugh, but she had been 3,000 miles away at college for almost a year and he wasn't prepared for the changes in her. She had finally filled out and caught up with all of her friends, with a figure that rivaled most models. While she had loved him silently for years, Stone hadn't thought of Ains in that way until he picked her up at the airport for summer break...and boy did his feelings change.
The story may have been short, but it was full of angst and drama, with a hint of humor. There was enough conflict to satisfy the biggest book critic, and the push-pull between the two main characters was realistic enough to keep the attention of the reader. There was a touch of heartache, but it lasted only a short while and was quickly resolved to everyone's satisfaction. The HEA was believable and poignant.
The characters were well-developed, although Ainsley needed a touch more maturing to truly fill her role of FMC. Stone was mature enough to understand the ramifications of their relationship, but he was also in love enough to know that it was real. He had not been with another woman since his first wife had died ten years prior, and that was due to the fact she had been the woman he loved. However, it wasn't a case of him having loved his first wife more than he did Ainsley, so she wasn't second best for him. That was a nice twist to the story.
Even though this was a short story, it had all the feels, twists, and turns of a full-length novel. It easily earned a four-star rating and a place in the Keeper for the Shelves collection. I would have given it a full five-star rating except it was just too brief.

Ainsley is a Woman who has had the same best friend since forever, they have always told each other everything, but there is one thing she has never told her friend Kim and that she has been in love with her best friends father for so long now. Mr. Cavanaugh is Kim's dad and has helped in raising Ainshley as well as they spent tons of time together as little girls and teenagers. Stone see's that she has grown up alot since he last seen her, and he just cant stop thinking all these dirty things that he wants to do with her.

What I enjoyed most about Caught With My Best Friend's Dad is watching a woman know what she wants and to be old enough and to attempt to go after the Man she has had her sights on for many years and has even kept herself a Virgin for him. Watching Stone want her but also want to protect her and he shows her that he does when it comes to Men touching what is his. Both being in love but wanting to not hurt their loved ones when it comes to letting their secret out that they are a couple.

This book is great, it was a quick, fast entertaining read. This book has a Woman who is all grown up now, and with her best friend busy with her own boyfriend that gives her more time and the nerve to make her move, Stone trying to do the right thing by his daughters best friend and his best friends daughter tries to keep a distance but it quickly proves harder then he thinks, Stone and Ainsley find that they are compatible in every way and in love. If you like stories like this, then Caught With My Best Friend's dad is a must!

Short and Sweet

I loved this little novella. It was short, sweet, raunchy, and forbidden. Everything my little twisted heart wants in a taboo romance. I think the “Daddy” pet name might put some people off but it often comes with the genre. The FMC is a Barbie and the MMC is a classic salt and pepper business owner, a very predictable and familiar plot. A good, comforting, hot read. I don’t have much to say about it other than if you like the genre this is a great addition to the library. There is zero conflict in it even the best friend was sweet and understanding.

The only thing I didn’t like about this book was the epilogue. It was very confusing, I was pretty sure FMC didn’t have a mom and then suddenly there is one at the end? The dad was supposedly a very absent father and I was expecting him to either not care or to get unreasonably angry but he was suddenly excited about being a grandparent? He wasn’t there for her why would he care about a grandchild? It felt like the epilogue should have either just been the FMC, MMC, and his daughter having a good life or the FMC’s father finding out in a less “heartfelt” way. Either there should have been a little conflict or it should have been left out altogether because his (and the suddenly invented mother’s) emotional reception felt really weird and out of place.

I would have loved if Ansley didn't have daddy issues. She clearly from the beginning has them. The absentee father. You clearly see. What the mother? This girl really is fucked up.
Then she fixates on her friend's hot father. Which I get but to always call him Mr. Cavanaugh is really annoying. Also because she is seducing him. She shouldn't do that. She's trying to seduce. Then she starts calling him Daddy. That should ring the alarms in his head that this girl has serious issues and should go to therapy. And see a psychologist. Because they can prescibe medicine to help her out.

Ainsley Miller is home for the summer break. She's no longer the little girl that Stone remember's playing with his daughter. She grown up and has a body to die for. But it's forbidden, she's like another daughter to Stone. Too bad his body doesn't agree.

This is a short taboo read that is guaranteed to warm you up on a cold night.

I love when a book can make you catch your breath and the whole time you are like please don't get caught, please don't. This is a fast read and if you are not open minded about an older men who is called "daddy" and young girl called "baby girl " than this might not be the book for you.

Why do they always have to devolve into daddy tropes!!? Can't we leave the word daddy out of this, especially since it's your best friends Dad. I just can't stand the whole daddy thing that's my personal opinion. This book was so good until the daddy thing started. Sigh
