Hi again! It’s me, Kae ! After sweating it out with the boys, I’ve slimmed down again, but the fujoshi in me will never fade away!
After everything that happened in the last volume, Igarashi has now fallen in love with the true me . He’s decided to continue his pursuit, but this time, he means business !
Igarashi’s new resolve also spurs a change in Nanashima , and he doubles his efforts to win me over. It’s great that they’re both so fired up, but what’s firing me up is the thought of them possibly getting hot and heavy with each other…
Includes extras such as a White Day-themed bonus comic and sketches of never-before-revealed character designs!
Now an anime from the studio that made PRINCESS JELLYFISH and MY LITTLE MONSTER!
The fun continues! A really good and fun volume just like Always. I really enjoyed the character development that took Place in this volume. Kiss him, not me! volume 4 by Junko get a 9/10 stars.
It's nice that now the guys are actually starting to get backstories and personalities, besides just being the hot guys. I enjoyed the Nanashima/Igarashi friendship/rivalry a lot, and Shinomiya's story too. Hope there's more like this in volume 5...
Today's manga post is on Kiss Him, Not Me!, Vol. 4 by Junko. It is 168 pages long and is published by Kodansha Comics. The cover has Kae, Nanashima and Shinomiya on it. As it is the fourth in the series, you need to have read the first three volumes to understand the story. There is no foul language, no sex, and no violence in this manga. The intended reader is someone who likes shojo and high school rom-coms. The story is told from third person close of mostly Kae. There Be Spoilers Ahead. From the back of the book- Hi again! It's me, Kae! After sweating it out with the boys, I've slimmed down again, but the fujoshi in me will never fade away! After everything that happened in the last volume, Igarashi has now fallen in love with the true me. je's decided to continue his pursuit, but this time, he means business! Review- This volume is more about the boys and their inter-relationships and Kae is in the background having her fujoshi fantasies. But Kae is also learning to be real friends to the boys and getting to understand them. There is a little moment with some other boys are not good are hearing the word 'no' and Kae has to be rescued by her friends. The manga is really sinking into the silly theme and exploring the characters that live in this world and even in Kae's imagination. I would like to see some growth from Kae, maybe start thinking about the boys as real people, not just there for to her have fantasies about.
I give this volume a Four out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.
“It's lame how... you'd throw away everything you have now all 'cause of the past!! The past is there for you to overcome!!" 'Wh... why are you talking as if you understand?!!' "'Cause I do!! Things that hurt, things that you regret... you might as well use them to make you stronger!!”
I really enjoyed the chapters about Nana, they went a long way to making him more likable, and letting the audience understand him more. But the chapters that focused on Shinomiya were plain hilarious! Especially the scenes with those dumb beach neanderthals, I still can't believe how scary and fierce Senpai can be!!
I don’t have a lot to say about mangas so I’ll give you my short thoughts on this one. I really enjoyed this one more than the previous volume. I liked getting to know some of the boys that we haven’t seen a whole lot more (though I already deemed them problematic in the last one). mutsumi will always remain my favourite as he’s such a soft little sweetie pie. However, I have grown to love igarashi a lot more as well. I loved the beginning when we saw him interact with serinuma and how he has started reading manga and talking about it with her. I just think it’s cute he’s taking interests in her interests. Overall, I really enjoyed this one.
🌸Lectura iniciada: 19 abril 2021🌸 🌸Lectura terminada 19 abril 2021🌸
Pretty straightforward harem romantic comedy. Our main character is a hardcore otaku, very into BL, she gets along well with “hot guys” but doesn’t attract them due to her weight (sigh). Her favorite anime character dies, she gets super depressed, and loses all her baby fat after holding up in her room for days on end.
When she returns to school thin, SUDDENLY SHE’S ATTRACTIVE! *hard eyeroll*
I’m not sure why I’m reading this other than for laughs. It’s not bad, but it’s not great. There’s definitely better, less offensive, shoujo manga out there if you’re willing to dig through the annoying stereotypical stories like this.
Every other page I feel annoyed, every other page entertained. At times I feel the series is extremely cliched, other times I feel like there's noticeable effort to subvert many prevalent shoujo manga tropes. The series encourages one to embrace the less socially acceptable qualities of one's person, only to sabotage its own potentially great message by how it depicts its characters. This constant inconsistency is probably what maddens me most about KHNM thus far. But ah, Mutsumi... I will keep reading for Mutsumi.
I can't imagine liking someone and not at least look a little into the persons hobbies and interests. Like what the hell Nana? It's so weird that he is weirded out by Igarashi watching and reading some of the stuff Serinuma likes... and that he only starts to look at some of it after the weird school ball tournament thing. It's fair if he doesn't like it, but up until that point he flat out doesn't want anything to do with anime/manga. Some of these dudes in this group is trash tbh.
In this volume we get to see a lot of Shinomiya and Nana. I love Nana so much! He is the bad boy who is actually really soft deep down and not full of self confidence like he seems. And the beach chapter with Shinomiya! So cute and full of realistic self doubt..these characters are so precious and I cannot wait for the next volume!!! Highly recommend this series!
More of a 3.5 star rating because I really like that some of the boys are starting to have more of their personalities appear in this volume. The friendship and rivalry between Igarashi-kun and Nanashima-kun is so wholesome and cute. I also found the portion focused on Shinomiya and him feeling insecure, a bit funny but overall a nice read.
I’m not sure how I feel about this series? I’m not offended like others but I’m not really liking the harem aspect. Which is what this series is all about.
I like the humor but I don’t like the idea of her having to pick someone… especially when some of these dudes are shallow as shit. Yeah, that makes it funny but I want some romance too!
I’ve only had the 3 volumes of this series for YEARS. My B&N finally had the 4th volume and I immediately added it to my basket because I wanted to have this entire series on my bookshelf as soon as I can.
I watched the anime before buying the manga and I absolutely loved it. So reading waht occurs after is going to be great for me.
Looks like Nanashima finally saw past Kae's looks after being jealous of Igarashi getting closer with her after realizing his true feelings. Though I almost though he was going to give up on her because of his constant competition and loss with Igarashi, the "Lame" arrow was perfectly timed for that lol.
Three things I like about this manga series: 1) It's about people and not about boobs and panty peeks. 2) It doesn't keep dumping in new characters. There are six main players at this point and five were already there in volume 1. 3) The characters are distinct and likeable (although I'm not especially fond of Nishina Shima).
Por fin lo empecé a sentir algo interesante. Mi mayor problema con el manga son los personajes y tuve que esperar a este tomo para que empezaran a desarrollarlos de alguna forma. De verdad siento que esto quedaba excelente como un manga de pocos tomos.
I like how the boys get back stories and personalities. My favorite part is when the boys say that they were going to kill those men if they touched Serinuma and the men ran away like cowards.
