Nakaba Suzuki (鈴木央Suzuki Nakaba, born in Sukagawa, Fukushima) is a Japanese manga artist, known for his works in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump, Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday and Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine.
I was starting to wonder if I missed an inside joke and that there were only six members of The Seven Deadly Sins. However, we finally know that a seventh member exists, but we haven't met him yet. This volume focused on Diane's back story, which will be further explain in the next volume. Also does Gowther always have to mess with the group? He nearly broke King's heart. Not cool!
Nakaba Suzuki continues to write one of the best shonen manga series around. We are neck deep into the introduction of the Ten Commandments, some of the strongest warriors from the Demon realm. Melodias and the our seven deadly crew are still recovering from their battle with the commandment known as the Truth. Merlin in fact doesn't have a body and is holding on to her existence with her magic alone. So our heroes definitely need a breather and some time to come up with a strategy to defeat the invading Demon army. This volume of the story Nakaba decides to focus on Diane the giantess of the Seven Deadly Sins. I have to say I really like the characters of King and Diane. They are really cute together and this book really allows us to explore more of what makes Diane tick. The action panels are really well done here and the pacing is always good in this series. Suzuki is really doing some really top notch world building. You will really care about Diane after this volume. Suzuki just does a great with setting up emotional moments and still filling the book with so much humor & wit.
This volume is about Diane's past or life outside the Seven Deadly Sins. It was very interesting, because this is the first time we actually get to meet other characters from her race. And I can surmise a whole different story there.
Ang ganda.
Thoughts: Out of the five races in this manga series (Demons, Fairies, Giants, Goddesses, Humans), it seems like the humans are even worse than the demons... The protagonists are the Seven Deadly Sins, while the antagonists are the Ten Commandments.
Teh, anyare? Haha! I need to read more about the artist / storyteller. The concept of this manga series is really pretty interesting. And also really good!
--- Merlin: In times of peace, nobody takes up the sword. But when living a daily existence seeped in combat, even a child will know how to wield a sword in order to survive.
And then there is this statement above... Hrmm...
Diane: You don't have children to use them as weapons in war. They're to sustain life.
Ay ganyan dapat ang attitude kapag mag-aanak. Not for one's own survival...
Not a lot of things happen in this volume, especially regarding action and fights. From the trio of Gilthunder, Griamore, and Howzer, only Gilthunder is interesting. Hendrickson comes back as a good guy and almost like a deus ex machina. The flashbacks regarding Meliodas were interesting though. Diane is not really a favourite of mine, so I didn't really care about those parts as well. It is good overall but weaker compared to the previous one. I believe this volume is more like a filler (not exactly but you get what I mean) before the major fights in the Holy War.
“Aspetta Diane!

I usually love this series but this volume was only mediocre. They are still just setting up the new arc with "The Ten Commandments". Truth shows up for fighting a few times but this is really Diane's book. Just when she had remembered her past feelings for King she loses all her memory, way back to when she lived in her hometown. So off she goes and becomes involved in the battle going on in the Giant town. The Deadly Sins meanwhile or on a 300-mile journey to reach her and hopefully, restore her memory ... again.
Diane's backstory was the only interesting thing in this volume. The fact that I had to wallow through more Hendrickson/Dreyfus backstory, side not I could not be bothered to care about these characters at this point, and deal with the Ten Commandments a.k.a the most uninteresting group of villains I have seen in recent years, just to get to Diane's backstory did not make this a wholly enjoyable read. When are we meeting the next sin, I want to meet him so baaaaaaad!
Well, this novel didn't have much action, especially after the last few volumes. The reader follows Gilthunder, Howzer, and Griamore and learns more about Hendrickson and what happened to him. Besides that, in Camelot, the group deals with what happened after the battle and they decide to go look for Escanor, the last sin. While not as good as the previous volumes, it was still a very entertaining read.
This is technically the volume that I'm starting with after having not read the series in 2ish years I think. It's surprisingly hard to get back into. I almost feel like I should just start at the beginning again, but I don't want too. Everyone is still OP. I think I'll start enjoying it again, just as soon as I remember who everyone is.
How Danfor became a pit in the ground, the back story of Meliodas Sin, and How Fraudrin became Dreyfus. Hendrikson seems cool now ? Gowther saved the day with his memory altering ability and then :/ to Diane. Diane and King :( How the demons going to regain their power is interesting! And Another Giant? at the end! good volume.
Quite a come down from the previous volume. Not a whole lot happened. It was nice to see another Gaiden, but honestly it just stank of this grooming theme that is permeating this manga. Matrona is a nice character and I like the personification of the giants. I'm growing quite tired of the memory loss plot lines though.

Whoa! Diane lost her memories again! Ugh, fucking Goat sin really needs to not be doing this to his own comrades! Some background on Diane is awesome! She is thinking about King!! How did Matrona survive?!?!
