This is a down and dirty MC romance--the kind I most adore. It blew my mind.

Fair warning, this romance isn't for the faint of heart because it gets very real, very fast. Krista is a strong heroine with limited choices, and she makes the best of what she has. As a single mother who dropped out of high school, she made tough choices, including selling her body for cash so she could raise her daughter. Although life had given her nothing but rough knocks she hasn't developed the sharp edge that many would. She's sweet, honest and determined to do the best she can on her own.

Colt's made so many mistakes he's not sure who to trust, and he trusts himself least of all. Strong and sexy, he made my panties wet from the first scene. Occassionally a jerk, he manages to redeem himself in the eyes of his club, but more importantly in the eyes of Krista.

The sex is hot, the relationships are complex, and the danger life-and-death real--all the ingredients for a wild ride. It's hard to believe this is Sarah's first book, it's that good. Read it now! It's amazing

Bikers, whores, meth heads…there is your cast of characters to one he*l of a biker read. I don’t like to call Krista a whore because she was so much more than what that title entails. She was a loving mom and a woman who did what she had to do in order to survive and make a life for her daughter. Robbie got her pregnant as a teenager and then turned into a meth head that wanted nothing to do with his daughter and only wanted to extort money from his now ex-wife, Krista. Krista pulled herself up from this shi*y life she had been dealt put herself through college as an accountant and provided in every way she could for her daughter. In order for her to accomplish all of this she became one of the club whores but at a different level than most of them and some of the men of the MC realized that.

Colt came into Krista’s life on a night that her ex was about to break into her home. He became her knight in shining armor by knocking her ex out and taking her and her daughter, Becky back to the MC clubhouse she worked for in order to protect her and Becky. Colt was from the Demon’s Horde MC but happened to be at the Storm Kings MC to see if they were worthy to be patched over into the Demon’s. Colt came with his own baggage because his ex happened to be the person who turned him and some of his brothers in to the DEA which sent him to prison for a while and did damage to the Demon Horde. Now he was paying the price by being sent to the Storm Kings to see if he could redeem himself so he had a lot on the line. This betrayal by his ex made Colt question everything about whom he trusted…including the women who had made a big impression on him. Krista.

Colt came into this finding out that Krista worked for the Storm Kings as a bartender and someone who cleaned the clubhouse but had no idea what other services she provided for the men. What would happen when he learned the truth? By this time he had feelings growing for not only Krista but for her daughter as well. Would Colt be man enough to look past everything Krista had to do in order to provide for her daughter or would this be something that he couldn’t get past? Colt was there for a job on patching over the Storm Kings but they had problems with someone skimming money from the club and until he solved that dilemma he was in jeopardy of losing his patch within his own club. With the trust issues he had would he be able to let Krista into his heart and let the MC know that he wanted to claim her? This is where you felt your heart tearing right along with Krista’s and the author knew how to soothe your heart for a bit only to let it tear again. This first time author has me hooked and I can’t wait to read more from the Demon Horde.

I received this book from NetGalley as an ARC for a freely given honest review.

I have conflicting feelings about this one.

First the MC stuff is good. You get into the politics of how things are run. Lots of ins and outs. The action is good too. I liked. The plot of a guy trying to make good choices and show his worth, but unfortunately he doesn't make very many of them.

Colt pissed the hell out of me. He is in a MC for heaven sakes and he thinks he can pass judgement on another person? His push and pull of Krista was unbearable at times. She was good enough at first to play house with, but then he finds out that she sells tricks because she can't support her kid she is the scum of the earth. He humiliates her so many times. Then at the end doesn't tell her where he is but send money and cars to help him get over his guilt?

Krista, I have mixed feelings as well. I understand that she couldn't support her kid and has to fall on desperate means to do so. She was also trying to get through school so she could get a better job. I hate that she degraded herself mentally and verbally to everyone and how she didn't deserve better. I also hate how she just kept taking crap from Colt and still saying I love him. Yuk! I also didn't like that she had feelings for Colt, but she still was turning tricks. Now I know that her ex stole her money and she and she had no money, but it just seemed not cool.

Received a ARC from the publisher through NetGalley.

Ya'll know I love a good MC book. And this was a good one, just the right balance between romance and club business, not sugar-coated, but not too dark and gritty. Basically, just right for me :)

So, this is Krista and Colt's story. I loved Krista! She was smart and loyal and a good mom who did what she needed to do to take care of her daughter. I knew her job would cause a problem for her and Colt...at first it was her, worrying that he really didn't love her for her, and later him when he found out what she did. And I have to say, Colt totally disappointed me. I wanted to shake him or slap some sense into him, pretty much, I wanted to whip him for the way he treated Krista. His mixed signals and non-communication killed me. I honestly think Krista forgave him too easily.

As for the secondary characters...I love them! I really hope Skeeter gets a book. And soon. I'll gladly come back and visit this group of characters :)

Having read and enjoyed Rebel Custody and Outlaw Ride, books two and three in the Demon Horde series, I knew I needed to go back and read book one. Not because I was missing any vital information, as each book works perfectly fine as a standalone novel, but because I enjoy the series so much. Quite often I find myself missing books in any series where each individual book is a standalone novel, but I did not want such to be the case with the Demon Horde series – thus, I jumped into Enforcer’s Price.

Enforcer’s Price is a wonderful introduction to the Demon Horde series, providing a brilliant insight into what you can expect of the series. Plenty happens throughout this one, with there being so many elements to ensure you are sucked into the story from the very first page. In fact, it quickly becomes a read you are willing to complete in a single sitting.

It is hard to pick what my favourite aspect of the story was, so I’ll list a few things.

First up, the characters. I positively adored the characters in this one. Both our main characters were a lot of fun. There was so much to both, each bringing so much to the table. Alone, they were enjoyable; together, they were amazing. The chemistry between them was great, leading to wonderful steamy scenes. It’s not just the main characters I enjoyed, though, as I enjoyed everyone in this story. The good and the bad, I enjoyed everyone for what they were.

Second up, the motorcycle club. It’s the kind we all love. Tough as nails men with the sweet interior we want to wiggle into. It was gritty with the necessary level of nasty to ensure we were pulled into the world. Sometimes these kinds of books fail to hit the mark, but the Demon Horde is exactly what you want from a motorcycle club.

The third thing I adored was the drama. There was plenty of drama throughout this book – along with plenty of action. It sucks you into both the relationship and the other events going on in the story. It’s not just the romance keeping you entertained, as there is plenty going on. Everything keeps you wanting to turn the page, desperate to see how all the details come together.

Without a doubt, this is a must read for fans of the genre. It’s certainly a motorcycle club you will want to follow.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

I'm so in love with this book.

Krista works for the Storm Kings as a bartender and as the club whore. She's a mom and she's doing what she has to do to keep a roof over her and her daughter's heads and food on the table. She's not turning tricks on the street, getting beat up by a pimp or funding a crack addiction. She's worked her way to an Associates Degree while getting rid of a deadbeat and abusive husband while doing what she had to do. She's not ashamed of the choices she made, the guys at the Clubhouse treat her well and they don't make her feel less than a normal person.

Colt is a member of the Demon Horde and in town to work a pact between the Storm Kings while trying to maintain his membership in the Horde. Years ago, his old lady betrayed him and the Horde and now he's trying to work his way back into full membership and trust of his chapter.

The attraction between Krista and Colt jumps off the page at you. Krista's turmoil at such an attraction hits her hard and she doesn't know how to react. Any relationship with him has the possibility to tear her orderly world apart. But Colt knows her, knows what she's had to do to keep her daughter safe and that makes her want to take a chance.

Except Colt doesn't know and finds out before she can tell him. Colt is furious and believes that she deliberately lied to him, used him for her own gain, just like his ex. When the members of the chapter come to Krista's defense, Colt must first realize his own shortcomings before he can apologize to her.

Loved, loved this book and I can't wait to read the next one of the series.

WOW Sarah Hawthorne IS A SEXY BEAST! WHAT. A. STORY! Not only was I so impressed with this story that I couldn't put down, I'm doubly impressed that it's her debut! And it was an original compared to a lot of MC books. Colt's life went up in flames when he trusted the wrong woman, and now he's paying his dues by getting sent to another smaller club that they want to patch in. Krista is a single mom who is doing her absolute best to take care of her young daughter, no matter how unappealing it is, and really believes that she will never be worth love. That's all I'm giving, because frankly, it's much better to just read this heart racing, exciting story yourself. Sarah Hawthorne is a new author with serious talent, as I was fully captivated cover to cover. Her characters were realistic and flawed, with entertaining secondaries that made me laugh more than once. Twists and turns were around every corner, which made for some really great f-bomb dropping moments. Add in the heart wrenching angst, and FIERY HOT sexy scene goodness, well, it can't get much better than that, so don't just take my word for it, READ IT FOR YOURSELF! CANNOT WAIT for the next book in this series, as I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

My favorite type of MC romance – gritty and dirty, which this book most certainly is!

Colt made a huge mistake trusting the wrong woman and he wound up in jail and once released he finds himself fighting to earn the trust of his MC brothers back. Colt is sent to find a traitor in another MC and decide if that MC is worthy to partner with his. What he doesn’t expect to find is Krista. Krista wound up pregnant at a young age and had to drop out of school to raise her daughter. Making the best of a sucky situation Krista has become a whore at the MC to earn enough to support her daughter. When Colt shows up the attraction between the two is immediate and Krista assumes that Colt knows what her job with the club is. Colt knows from the moment he spots Krista that she is going to be his, but when Colt finds out her true job at the club everything changes.

In my opinion, this is the best type of MC romance, while it’s super gritty and no holds barred crazy – it’s also a super sweet romance underneath all the grit. If you like MC romances this is a must read!

I haven't read an MC story in so long and I was immediately drawn to the description of this story. Sarah Hawthorn's Demon Horde club members lived up to all my expectations. It's gritty and dark at times, but there's an undercurrent of hope in the prospect of Krista and Colt finding salvation in each other.

What's unusual about this one is that it's from the perspective of the "club" whore Krista. I didn't expect to feel much sympathy for her but her situation tugged my heart. She's lived a rough life with little opportunity but has some ambition and a plan when into her life comes Colt. Their connection is conflicting for both of them but resistance is futile. It's wonderful to see the bad-a$$ biker Colt show his soft side with her and her daughter and to see how in turn his life is flipped on it's side.

The story moves at a fast pace and Hawthorns writing is descriptive and evocative. There's some cringe worthy moments and some danger where you might not expect it. If your looking for an MC read with tenacious characters and a gritty HEA then look no further. I happily recommend this debut from Sarah Hawthorne. 4.5 Stars!

Fantastic MC read!! All the down and dirty you could want with a great story at the heart of it. My heart goes out to Krista. Single mom doing the best she can and doing whatever it takes to care for her child. As a club whore and bartender for the MC it would be easy for her to be bitter and jaded but she's not. When Colt arrives to check out the small MC for a patch over sparks immediately fly between them. Krista knows that as a club whore nothing lasting can ever be between them but Colt doesn't see it that way. Does he not realize what she really is??

If you enjoy the MC genre you will want to grab this one. I highly recommend it!

This is more than a 3 but not exactly a 4 to me. The MC was gritty, and the inner workings of the club and how a biker on the outs tries to gain respect back was interesting. Lots of drama, mostly associated with a misunderstanding and also what a woman with a kid to support and not a lot of options is willing to do to survive. This aspect will annoy some readers, but I like when the h in a MC book isn't virginal and has had some challenges in her past. Nicely written and edited.

This book has adult themes and is intended for a mature audience.

This book follows Krista who is a single mother with a daughter who is working at a biker bar hooking. Krista is trying very hard to find a job with hew new degree so she can change her life, but her ex keeps popping up and trying to steal that away. Colt is from another biker club who is working on finding the biker who is skimming the club as well as merging the two clubs. Since Colt is in some hot water with his current club he really needs this to work.

The author did a great job with the storyline. There is a lot of suspense built up within a few storylines that I couldn’t get enough of. I wanted to know what was going to happen next with all of the characters. The book is told through the eyes of Krista and Colt who both have very different personalities and goals in life.

I really enjoyed reading about Krista in this book. The author did a great job showing all the conflicting feelings that Krista was experiencing. I liked how the author even went into depth over Krista being a hooker and how she felt about that. Krista is a very strong character in this book and during the entire book I was rooting for her to get what she deserved!! Krista has a rough start and really is working on making everything right for her daughter.

Colt on the other hand was a little harder for me to like. I feel like he was so worried about his bike club and all his other issues that he just wasn’t thinking straight. Colt was driving me a little crazy in the book at some points I wanted to snap and yell at him. Colt does really expand throughout the whole book and I do end up loving him at the end, but he was challenging.

The story has a lot of buildup and suspense and kept my full attention while reading. The author did a great job with the story expanding from two people who have a connection to all the drama that comes along with it. The author did a great job writing the romance for these two it was a little complicated and I feel like the up’s and down’s worked really well for these two characters.
The author added a lot of details about the bike club as well as Krista’s life that I thought really added to the story. I felt like when I was reading I could imagine exactly what was going on and really visualize what was happening with the characters.

I would suggest this as a nighttime read. The story was nicely paced and easy to follow along with. I felt this was a great book for a nighttime escape from my daily life.

I received a copy of this book from Barclay Publicity for the purpose of providing an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of this book.

Title: Enforcer's Price
Author: Sarah Hawthorne

4 unexpected stars

Wow. I love being surprised with MC genre novels and that's exactly what Sarah Hawthorne has managed to do with Enforcer's Price. The first in the series, it had the perfect balance between sexuality, tension, mystery, suspense and especially action. I never would have expected an MC as dark as it was (compared to many that i've personally read so far), and quite frankly, absolutely loved it! I couldn't wait to read more and find out what would happen between these two and see just how far they'll go to protect themselves, their family and each other. It's the kind of read that will give you chills and leave you wanting more.

4.5 sexy dreams stars

Nothing about this couple is 'normal'. Krista works at the MC's club as a bartender and to make up the money that her ex stole, she's a prostitute, needing to raise and take care of her daughter. Colt is a man that was put in jail for something that he didn't do and because of a woman he had given his heart to and since then, he's vowed never to trust another one. When they get together, feelings and emotions they thought was dead come back to life, making them question who, what and if they're doing the right thing. Like i mentioned, i couldn't get enough of this book and i can't wait to read more from Sarah Hawthorne, because with this first taste, i can only imagine what else she has in store for her readers in the future, something that i will be following.

You never know what you're gonna get in an MC book, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by ENFORCER'S PRICE.

Being a single mother and turning tricks for an MC wasn't exactly where Krista saw herself at 24, but the guys in the Storm Kings MC treat her well and protect her. When she meets Colt, a member of the Demon Horde MC, she wishes that she could be the kind of woman who he'd fall for. Colt knew the minute he laid eyes on Krista that she was his. But when Colt finds out Krista's a whore, just like the last woman he thought he loved, he's devastated. Colt is at the Storm Kings for a reason and can't get distracted by a hot piece of ass, no matter how much he wishes things could be different. Can Krista convince him to look past her job and see the same future she sees with him?

ENFORCER'S PRICE is the first book in The Demon Horde series, and I really liked it. The tone was sharp and dark, and pretty unique from a lot of the other MC books I've read. Colt himself hadn't had sex in 3 years, while Krista was a club whore, so that in itself was an interesting change of pace. The two of them had mad chemistry, and Colt's relationship with Krista's daughter Becky was awwww inducing. I liked the relationship that Krista had with the guys of the Storm Kings too…they were wildly protective of her and cared so much about her even though her primary duties at the club were to have sex and to bartend.

The book did have its moments, particularly toward the end, that felt rushed through and out of character for the MC's, and there were quite a few editing snafus that stood out, but neither seriously distracted from my enjoyment. I'm really excited about the next book in this series, Rebel Custody!

Bottom Line: OM/OW (Krista is a prostitute, so…yea); no sharing; no condom use with Colt, condom use with her clients; no BDSM/kink; no sexual assault; some violence/murder. - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...

Enforcer’s Price was a great 5 star read.

Krista is a single mom trying to make ends meet. The story starts with her meth head ex Robby pounding on her door and her boss Tate coming to her rescue. This is also where she meets Colt for the first time. There is something about him that draws her in.

Krista works for the MC and sells her body to make ends meet. Colt want’s more than one night with her, but he doesn’t realize what else she does to make her money. Would he really want a whore? What will happen when he finds out?

Colt has come to the MC to help discover why the finances are off. There are two people that have worked on the books Bear and Krista. Could Krista really be stealing money?

There is so much more to this great read. Colt really grew on me, he was great with Becky. Krista was a strong mother trying to do right by her child and take care of her. Can these two get past their issues and make things work? Can they get their HEA? Once I started I couldn't put it down. Sarah Hawthorne does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I look forward to reading more from her.

Krista is a strong woman that makes the best out of what she has. Being a single mother has limited her options on trying to survive and make money. Krista does tricks for the local MC to bring in extra cash. Her ex is a drug addict that she just cannot seem to get away from. He cleans out her account making life difficult for Krista. Having protection from the club seems to be all that she has.

Colt has made a lot of bad decisions in his life including his choice in girlfriends. Almost bringing his club down in the process he has a lot to make up for. Trying to get a smaller club to patch over will be his test. Meeting Krista happened by chance and now that he has had her on the back of his bike he knows he wants to keep her there.

Colt just happens to be in town to see if a smaller club has what it takes to patch into his club. One look at Krista and the fear in her eyes and he knows that he wants to protect her. He thinks she is just a bartender for the club but when the truth is revealed can he accept what she has done? Not only is he dealing with unfamiliar feelings he is trying to figure out who the rat is in the club and how to deal with that situation. Not to mention Krista’s crazy ex.

This book gets really intense real quick. This is the authors first book that I know of and this really amazes me. This book is written so well. The characters are strong and independent. The sex is hot, the storyline is intense. I think this one blew me away. I loved it!

An "I couldn't put it down" read, ENFORCER'S PRICE was sexy, gritty, and fresh. The main characters, Colt and Krista, were having a heated and tumultuous relationship. I would say "affair" except that it was far from JUST an affair. It had depth, promise and definitely some longing.

I was surprised by how interested I became in the world of motorcycle clubs. Sarah Hawthorne drew me in right from the beginning, with her use of double points of view. Each chapter was told from both Krista's and Colt's points of view. I had nowhere to go except onto the next chapter.

The next two novels in the series, set for release later this year, promise to be just as electric. I can't wait to get my hands on them!

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Colt spent 8 months in prison because the woman he trusted went against him and his MC creating cash problems. Now Colt must prove to his MC that he is worthy to be a part of them. He is being sent to check out a small MC that wants to merge with his MC. The only problem is, someone is skimming money and he has to find them before a decision can be made.

Krista is a single mom and a prostitute. She has an ex that is a serious addict and is always trying to shake her down for money. She has a room at the clubhouse and if one of the brothers wants to engage her services, they can. She also does other side jobs such as bartending and cleaning up. The sex is just that...sex. She is treated well by the club and her daughter is untouched by it. She is trying to make a better life for them.

When Colt arrives and they meet, they both realize the attraction to each other. After a few days, they decide to give into the attraction, calling it a fling....but is it?

Their lives turn into a whirlwind between looking for the person skimming from the club and issues with her ex. Neither want any kind of involvement and both have trust issues.

I really enjoyed this story! I think the only question that crossed by mind is that they fell for one another too fast, for 2 people with hardened hearts. There was some good action in the storyline and I think it was written very well. I'd like to read some more about this MC club.

Colt and Krista have an emotionally charged relationship. There were plenty of moments where my heart hurt for both of them. Most often, though, it was for Krista. She wanted to break out of the life so badly.

I felt that was where the heart of the story was. Krista’s struggle with gaining the life she wanted. I wanted everything to work out all roses for her. Her and Colt struggled right up until the end to get there. I really enjoyed the ride.

Krista is a young woman who has problems but very few choices to solve them, so she makes the best of what she's got. A high school drop out and working hard to get a degree, she ends up working in a bar and selling her body for extra cash so she can give her young daughter a better life.
Colt has made mistakes, but his club has given him a chance to show his worth and look into the cash problems. When he meets Krista he want's her, she's sweet and honest, he won't fall for a woman's lies again.

They're made for each other, the chemistry between them is off the charts, it's so good you're just waiting for it all to break apart.
Colt is a super sexy character and Krista can't believe her luck in finally finding a guy who really cares for her. Too good to be true right!
This book is not to be missed. Great writing and story line. I recommend it, and look forward to reading more from the Demon Hordes series.

Wow what a great MC read Enforcer's Price was. This book was dirty and gritty the way I like my MC books. Enforcer's Price there are all kinds of crazy people that are druggies and whores and of course sexy and dangerous bikers that make up a great MC read. Loved Krista and Colt they were both so sexy and hot together. Krista is a single mom who is trying to stay afloat and Colt is trying to fix the cash flow for the MC. I can not wait to read more!

This review is based on the ARC provided by the author and/or the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I stayed up later than I was supposed to reading this book. I had to finish. Our hero was a bit clueless and sometimes MIA, but he was done wrong in the past, he was kind, and he was CUTE. So all was forgiven.

Captivating from the beginning. I got sucked into the story and found it difficult to put down.

I will definitely recommend it to my friends. Thanks Sarah, keep them coming. Can't wait for the rest of the series.
