About the author

Eric and Elizabeth Zimmer began a creative partnership when they met in 1998. Eric trained as a painter at the Kansas City Art Institute and at the New York Studio School. Elizabeth has a BA in liberal arts from St. John's College in Santa Fe, an education degree from the University of New Mexico, and an MFA from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she also taught for many years. Elizabeth has always loved writing and was inspired by Eric's enigmatic paintings to fulfill a long-time dream of making children's books. This teamwork has evolved and now Eric spends his days painting pictures with a child-like perspective, while Elizabeth uses her obsession with strange collections to create curious stories. They live in an old sugar beet factory with their young son in the Denver area.
